Ethan fell into darkness and awoke to find his bland ceiling above him. He was angry and guilty all at the same time. If he was in his bedroom that meant he failed to stop Sarah. He started to sit when he noticed Jane, Benny and Benny's grandma at the end of his bed.

He pulled himself up, rubbing his head. "What happened?"

"Sarah saved you." Benny's Grandma said, squeezing Ethan's shoulder. "She got to you before the transition took place. You're gonna be just fine."

"Your heart's still beating." Jane smiled

"But now Sarah's a full vampire because of me. I damned her." Ethan sighed. "She never wanted this life and now I forced her into it. She'll be 17 forever."

"She chose to save your life, dude." Benny said. "You tried to keep her safe, but in the end she sacrificed her humanity so you could keep yours. None of this is your fault."

Ethan ran a hand through his hair. "She never wanted to become a full vampire and now because of me she is one. That sounds like it's my fault to me."

"Why don't you get some rest? I'll come check on you later, buddy." Benny said as all three of them left the room.

Ethan listened for them to make it to the bottom of stairs till he yelled. "This is all my fault!"

Ethan grabbed one of his pillows and threw it at his bookcase. As it collided with the shelves many of his action figures hit the floor. If he had only been stronger, he could've protected Sarah from this, but he failed. She was damned and it was all his fault.

After Erica and Sarah flew off, they found Rory and all three of them went to this awesome party. Dancing, drinking, and flashing lights surrounded the building. Erica danced while Rory couldn't stop eating cookies off the snack table.

Sarah was deep in her thoughts when Erica noticed her sitting alone, "Come on Sarah, it's time to celebrate. Don't mope and come dance with me."

"I'm not in the mood to party." Sarah muttered under breath.

Rory appeared from the snack table with a stack of cookies. He shoved another into his mouth as he mumbled. "Why?"

"I'm worried for Ethan." Sarah said with a grimace. "What if I took too much? What if he hates me? What if Jesse came back and hurt him?"

"Sarah, he is at his house with Benny and his grandmother, Ethan's fine." Erica said, placing her hand on Sarah's shoulder. "Come on you're a badass vampire now. Dance, drink, and maybe even take a swig out of these guys jugulars. Stop being grouchy and live a little."

"I can't." Sarah said, getting to her feet.

Erica raised a brow. "Ethan is alive and you saved him. Why are you so worried?"

"I just want to make sure he's okay." Sarah said, getting up from the table. "I just want to make sure he…"

"Doesn't hate you?" Erica finished

Sarah said nothing, but the silence spoke a thousand words. She gave a shrug to Erica before vanishing. Erica annoyingly sighed as she looked into the crowd for dinner. Her eyes caught a cute boy dancing in the corner. His curly brown hair flying around as he danced. She could smell his blood from there causing her to smile a fangy smile.

Rory came to stand beside Erica. "Where did Sarah go?"

"She's going to go see Ethan." Erica said as the boy locked eyes with her.

The boy's smile widened just as hers did. Rory noticed this smile and looked where she was and understood what she was doing, but he had a question. One that meant a lot.

"Doesn't that go against your plan?" Rory asked

She responded without even looking at Rory. "No, it's exactly what he wants."

Erica handed Rory the cup she was holding as she slid into the crowd. Rory watched as she walked up to the teen, pulling him into the alley out back. He heard, even with the loud music, the boys moans from outside. His blood dripping down his shirt like a rainstorm.

Rory rolled his eyes and finished the punch Erica had handed him, muttering under his breath. "Why am I always the one everyone leaves behind?"

Since Erica was busy and Sarah was already gone he decided to head home. He had blood in the mini fridge in his room so he'd pop one open and play some video games like he did almost every night. He got to the edge of the parking lot when this drunk girl ran into him.

"Sorry I'm a bit clumsy." She mumbled

"No problem." Rory replied

Her eyes met his and a sloppy smile appeared on her face. She placed a hand on Rory's pec with a flirty smile. He looked down at her hand and he smiled as well.

"Would you like to get out of here?" She asked

His smile widened as his fangs extended. "I'd love to."

Ethan sat there on the verge of tears. If he had only been stronger, Sarah wouldn't be cursed. He knew Benny's grandma was right and this wasn't his fault, he tried and Sarah chose to save his life rather than hers. Yet, it still felt like he had done this to her. He felt like the guilt was suffocating him.

"This is all my fault…" Ethan muttered under his breath.

"Well it's more my fault than yours…"

Ethan recognized the voice instantly. He looked up from his bed to find Jesse sitting on his window sill. The sight of him made Ethan fall off the bed and onto the floor. He rose grabbing the light saber from beside the bed.

Ethan turned the light saber on as he pointed it at Jesse. "How'd you get in here?"

"Does it really matter how I got in?" He asked, stepping into the room.

"You here to finish the job?" Ethan asked as he backed away from Jesse with the lightsaber raised.

Jesse looked at the light saber with a laugh. "I didn't come here to kill you, Ethan. Well, I will if Sarah doesn't kill you first."

"What are you talking about?" Ethan asked

Jesse smiled to himself as he walked over to Ethan's bookcase. He grabbed one of the action figures that hit the floor and set it back on the shelf. Ethan was getting nervous and that wasn't a good thing.

"I'll bring you up to speed. I caught Sarah on the way home from a party. She was hurrying back to check on you." Jesse explained with a smug smile. "I caught her off guard and we had a little chat."

"You're lying!" Ethan yelled, swinging the light saber at Jesse.

Jesse vanished from where he was standing as Ethan walked into the center of the room. He spun around, trying to pinpoint where Jesse would appear. He swung around, but continued to miss. Seconds later, Jesse reappeared to knock the light saber from Ethan's hand. He pushed him up against the wall, grabbed his collar, and lifted Ethan into the air, "Am I?"

"You leave her alone!" Ethan yelled

"It's too late for her now..." Jesse said, setting Ethan back on the ground.

Jesse stepped back as Sarah appeared at the window. Her eyes glowed yellow, glaring toward Ethan. Danger radiated off her skin as she snarled at me.

"Hi Ethan, I've come to check on you." She said in a dangerous voice. "I can't stop thinking about your blood. The taste, the texture, the smell."

"Sarah, you're under Jesse's spell. This isn't you." Ethan pleaded

She snarled as she ran at Ethan. He quickly dodged, grabbing the stake for protection. She looked from the stake and back up at Ethan's face. "Are you going to use that, Ethan?"

"I will if I have to." Ethan said, pointing the stake at her chest.

She laughed. "I don't think you have the strength to kill me. Do you Ethan?"

Sarah appeared in front of Ethan, causing the stake to clatter to the floor. She grabbed Ethan and pinned him against the wall. Jesse smugly smiled from his position in the room as he stopped her from taking a bite out of Ethan.

"What did you do?!" Ethan yelled, struggling against Sarah's grasp.

"Me and Sarah had a talk on the way here just like I did with Erica."

The door to Ethan's bedroom flung open to reveal Erica in the same state, holding Benny against his will. When Benny saw Ethan he tried to smile. "Hey buddy, not a great place to be in."

"If Sarah had let you turn, we wouldn't be in this mess. Now that Sarah saved you, things are going to get interesting. I could've used anyone else, but you two will do very nicely." Jesse explained with a sadistic smile.

Benny struggled against Erica. "I'll never help you."

"Are you sure about that?" Jesse said, nodding to Sarah.

Sarah grabbed Ethan's head, turning it to the side to reveal more of his neck. She extended her fangs and neared his throat, just hovering above his skin. Ethan shivered under her touch because part of him wanted her to.

Sarah clutched his wrist, digging her nail into her bite mark. Blood began to seep from the bandage and onto the wooden floor. Erica's locked onto Ethan's wrist as she licked her lips. Benny saw this and Sarah's reaction, worry consuming rational thought.

Benny yelled. "I'll help you. Please, don't hurt him."

"Neither of you will be harmed...yet. I need you both for what is to come. We are going to perform a spell that is going to make things a whole lot easier for me." Jesse explained

"Someone will look for us." Ethan said with conviction.

"We'll see about that."

Jesse, Sarah, and Erica used their vampire speed to transport Ethan and Benny to a warehouse. Benny was put in one cell and Ethan was thrown in the one next to his. The doors slammed as the three vampires left, leaving the boys to wallow in their worry.

Benny began to pace back and forth. "We are so screwed."

"If we can get Erica and Sarah out of their trances then we'll have a chance." Ethan said, sliding down the wall to sit.

Ethan held onto his wrist, which Sarah had scratched open. It wasn't bleeding as much as earlier, but blood was still dripping. He had already lost quite a lot of blood from Jesse and Sarah so he felt lightheaded and woozy.

Benny noticed how tired Ethan looked. "Are you okay?!"

"I'll be fine." Ethan said, wincing.

"Your bite is bleeding a ton, I don't think you're fine." Benny said, taking off his sweatshirt and ripping off the sleeve.

Ethan looked from the sweatshirt and back to Benny. "That was your favorite sweatshirt."

"I can find another favorite sweatshirt, now come here." Benny said as Ethan put his arm through the bars. Benny took the sleeve and wrapped it around the bite tying it in a tight knot.

"Thanks." Ethan said, going back to sitting against the wall.

"What do you think they're gonna make us do?" Benny said, sliding down the wall to beside Ethan with the bars between them.

"I have no idea, but I have a feeling it isn't going to be pretty."
