Chapter 42
(A Week and a Half Later, Kamino)
The arrival of the Death Squadron above Kamino had sent waves of hysteric horror silently though all the men of the newly comprised feet under Thrawn's command. For no one desired to be the one to be on the receiving end of lord Vader's ire and anger. The likelihood of him singling out one person was little to none, but it was still there. He had come with his now larger than usual feet numbering ten Imperial-I Stardestroyers, and five Imperial-II class Stardestroyers, supported with seven Victory-II's and thirteen Tartan cruisers, along with two Acclamator-II's, and twelve Broadside-class cruisers, and finally five of the rarely seen Gladiator-class class Stardestroyers. This fleet even impressed the dear new vice admiral into a momentary silent gawk of lord Vader's fleet from the viewport of the Admonitor, which was now under extensive repairs.
The Sith lord had met with Vice-Admiral Thrawn aboard his flagship the Exactor some four days ago where Vader laid out the vision of the coming battle to retake Kamino proper. As far as probes were concerned and planetary scans there were many droids still down there, and running on automated commands to attack Imperial forces on sight. Vader used his 501st legion and led a massive assault upon the endlessly raining world, and had apparently done so before, and thus the legion was more than capable to defeat and destroy the droids, but not without attaining losses amounting to two-thousand dead but over double in droids destroyed.
It was then that the many millions of dead clone infants still within their cylinders were found, and Vader personally inspected one to discover that it was an emergency chemical agent created by the Empire to kill their own clones in emergency that had been added to their cylinder artificial growth fluid. On top of that the many thousands of dead clones stationed here were killed by the same chemical released in airborne manner through the ventilation system by emergency orders administered through one of the command consoles in Tipoca city's main Imperial command. The dark lord arrived to find a single living officer near death from dehydration and lack of food, and he told of the story of how it was that Kellia Nelrain came down herself and executed the clones by a backdoor entry she still retained to top-level Imperial security files and operations on Kamino, and Vader seethed when he heard of this, and knew she had been an agent for his master...and he knew things had happened to her, and for this reason his master should have made it a top priority to change her kriffing access to none at all! Vader made sure to also find and note that the very best of the best Kaminoan cloners were found, and found them he did. Dead, and all of them beheaded with their pale and expressionless faces lying besides their long and cold with death necks. Vader was furious but did not kill anyone needlessly this day. He honestly didn't feel like it, but rather ordered the cities of Kamino, now ravaged and reeking of death to be cleaned at once, and returned to the Exactor to make a call to his oh so wise and intelligent master.
"So...she managed to kill all the forces stationed upon Kamino? That is most...distressing indeed." The old man went on and Vader snarled silently behind his mask and was furthermore kneeling before him once more, feeling all the more foolish for needing to do so before someone with this much power but full in incompetency!
"Yes master. Nelrain committed a great offense against the Empire. The loss of forces alone will add to the strain now upon the Empire against both the Moffs and the URM. A tactically sound move as well for her part and that of these rebels. The droid armies are in full assault across Moff space as we speak, and now we are lacking in skilled and efficient forces. It will be like fighting the Clone Wars without the Clones in the bulk we need them." The Emperor sneered but leaned into his throne.
"She has been for too long a thorn in my side. This woman needs to die and soon." The Emperor spat with an unending frown on his holographic face, and Vader nearly rolled his eyes at the obviousness of such a statement.
"I have received word that a large quantity of droids of Confederate make and model are attacking the Moffs, as you said lord Vader. Then it is safe to assume that our old friends from the Confederacy are up to old tricks in a new game. Our objectives for now are to stick to the course. Lord Kun will retake Tapani and secure our opening into the Expansion Region against the Moffs. While I have something in mind for you lord Vader."
"May I ask as to what that may be, master?" Vader inquired never moving his mask from staring at his master eye to eye.
"The URM and these droid armies will be allowed to fight the Moffs, but not without a show of reprisal. You will send a fleet to attack the Mon-Calamari at Dac, and show the power the Empire still retains. You will also leave behind a token force of naval patrol over Kamino from Thrawn's fleet and absorb he and the rest of his force temporarily into your armada. From there you will lead your fleet and launch an attack upon a URM position intelligence has informed me of within the Tion Cluster. It would seem this entire sub-sector of space has thrown their lot, economically and militarily behind the URM and has taken control of all our warships within its boundaries and you are looking at a fleet of well over two-hundred in scale, but do not worry my old friend. You will merely make an example of one URM allied world, but utterly laying waste to its military forces and then set up a base of operations for future movements into the Outer-Rim through the Tion Cluster. You will be sent reinforcements as needed I assure you, as we prepare for an all out assault of the Expansion Region." Vader sighed inwardly but gave a bow of his head.
"Yes master. I will do so at once. Are there any worlds or systems in particular that you desire attacked and taken once more for the Empire?" The Emperor gave a toothy grin for whatever sick reason he had.
"Yes lord Vader, now that you mention it I do have one world in mind. You will take your squadron and firstly ensure we have access to Raxus Prime, and leave a token naval compliment to the present one, still loyal to our Empire, from there you will attack Tion directly. Secure and claim it once more in the name of the Galactic Empire, and secure Raxus Prime and we will have an indefinite window into the Outer-Rim from which to launch our eventual attacks from."
"Yes, my master. I shall attend to it at once."
"Ensure that you do lord Vader. After all, we wouldn't want to keep you from your children for too long now would we?" The Emperor phased away and Vader grit his teeth as he wasn't even allowed a moment to glare at the old man.
"One of these days old man, and I will end you swiftly. I promise you that." The Sith said aloud and stomped away toward a more general coms unit to speak with Thrawn. There was war planning and work needing done.
(Tapani Sector, Sefon)
A line of Stormtroopers lined a deeply dug in trench system directly opposite his sight and they fired at random and in high quantity and velocity into the tree lines and hunkered down positions he was behind as well. Viathan lowered his binoculars and heaved a breath and glanced to his right as a unit of three loyalist troopers shot around a tree the huddled behind and took potshots into the Moff positions with a field of their dead comrades lining the region behind and ahead of them. To his right were two Massassi, his guard as of late, and a present from his master. Which included Zar, and the Massassi who helped he and Zar take the forward positions on Tallaan, named Grash'kil, or Grash for short. They both had crimson blood dripping from their spears and swords, and blood smeared onto their chests as well as they huffed great breaths causing their fleshy appendages to twitch and blow.
Behind his position with his units, was a line of Imperial artillery unit firing near endlessly into the Moff hold. A great mound set in a circle that stretch out for possibly half a mile in total, with a line of trenches, supported with bunker and a funneling pathway for reinforcements, with heavy repeaters in the bunkers, and an unseen line of Moff artillery firing reprisal rounds into Viathan's forces. He cursed under his breath as he looked behind him and saw a field littered with trooper corpses with various limbs missing blood pooling from non blaster wounds, and singed armor all around from blaster attacks or maybe artillery hits. He had started with a division of Stormtroopers numbering six-thousand strong, and was down to a total of twenty-five hundred max. While Moff numbers were estimated by I.I to be at least twenty-thousand. Perhaps down to eighteen by now, as it had been two days of sleepless and bloody battling and the air reeked of death! He had lost count of how many he killed but they were many in scope. However, his obsession was fixed upon this Moff site. For within was general Coldor Morlin within the central complex and for that, men or no men, Viathan would take this site, or die trying. Although he would like it if he had more than just five men in his immediate area to help him, with the others all spread out in the tree lines they were using as their staging position.
"Alright, I have a dumb idea, but at least it is one." The troopers and Massassi huddled in around Viathan as he kneeled. "The bunker to our direct front is focusing on Company 36-D. They are to our direct left facing the bunker. The trench line is below the bunkers ability to fire down into, and I am the most able to get into the trenches and clear out the section to our front. What I will need is some covering fire from you men to draw away the trench troops shooting at me and my bum rush of their hold. Once I'm in I can guarantee a cleared trench, but they will begin flooding in their troops." Viathan paused and looked to see if they had questions, but they all simply nodded and essentially told him to keep going.
"Okay, so, my plan is to launch myself into this bunker, take a thermal-det, and blow the damnable box to kingdom come. Take out one bunker, then I get back down, re-clear my trench line, and you men have free ability to get a hold of our reserve company, 45-A, and get them into our breach. We hold that line until lord Kun can send down his secondary reinforcements once he has the space situation under control. Clear?"
"What if reinforcements don't arrive in time to hold the line? Wont we be forced to retreat?" The trooper commander asked, and Viathan heard a distinctive accent to the mans voice, and knew immediately he was speaking to an old clone indeed. One of the Clone Wars original batch. Such an interesting realization was however not something he could nor would focus on.
"We will hold that trench section and mow down the Moffs with their own supplies, and we will hold till we cannot any longer, and have no ammo, then we will gut em' and then we will die and die with the knowledge we tried, and that is my only promise. Clear trooper?"
"Yes sir." He quickly and smoothy replied and nodded, as the other troopers brought their E-11 blasters up and extended their stocks for better holds, and so did the third as the two Massassi grinned and readied their vibroblades for up close and personal blood spilling. Viathan gave a single nod and brought up a single saber hilt, his own, and activated the beam and let out a breath as his equally crimson eyes glanced behind the tree and saw the enemy still firing madly in all direction and one bolt nearly hit him forcing him to peel back with a snarl.
"Do not move in until you hear the bunker blow." He commanded and all five nodded. Then he flung around the tree and immediately dashed forward and ran at the trench line with his saber swung back and trailing him as he did across an open field. The bolts of red death came flying at him to which he flung over and dashed under them and sidestepped oncoming ones, sent a few flying back and hit at least one dead on in his helmeted head.
His heart racing he flung up and over a flurry of bolts aimed at him aimed his saber down and slammed down into a trooper, snatched up Ruin's saber and sent it flying vertically into another trooper aiming at him. Spinning around he flew his last saber, and flung around calling Ruin's saber and spun back and slashed anther trooper near to him running in. Calling his second to him, he caught it and ran at a troop of four white clad troopers with the new Moff symbol on their chest plates, in the symbol of a ten point Star, and he twirled his sabers preemptively and slashed and hack among them and sent bits and pieces flying all around as they cried and fell before him. No time to celebrate he spun back around and sent a massive wave of Force energy into two troopers running down the trench at him, and watched them fly back heard into the hard soil of the trench wall, and he smiled as his skill with his masters 'Force Blast,' was getting better after learning the basics before their assault on Sefon by Kun personally.
An explosion ripped through the air and Viathan went slamming into the side of the trench and cursed as he saw TIE bombers fly over head and get shot down by Moff AA emplacements and one obviously hit somewhere inside the Moff position.
He flung himself up again and landed on a very narrow plot of soil before the bunker, and twirling his sabers he hunched down and flew up and dashed into the pillbox. The trooper on the gun was kicked off by his steel tipped boot and Viathan heard a very audible huff from him, as two troopers fired heavy repeaters in their hands at him, and Viathan went momentarily wide eyed but quickly spun his two saber before him and sent bolts flying in all directions. Growling when they wouldn't simply let up some, Viathan sidestepped to his left and spun sideways through the air in a mesmerizing twirl fashion and landed between the shooters and spun full three-sixty and took both men at their chests and watched their entire top half fall to the floor dead.
Viathan allowed himself to breath, and didn't realize he was holding it in and quickly jerked his head to the side and entrance of the bunker from the Moff hold and saw three troopers aiming down at him and for no reason not shooting.
'Do they expect me to surrender? Right...that's going to happen.' Viathan sneered and with speed unknown to the troopers he flung his right hand up and streams of blazing blue lightning flew into them and they all flew some feet out into the open field of the Moff position, and when they were sufficiently far he stopped and pulled out a thermal detonator. Pressing down on it and waiting a minute he dropped it just as more troops showed and fired at him, and he flung himself back toward the blaster opening and for good measure slashed the repeater apart and dived out the front end of the bunker and landed back in the trench and with a flash the bunker blew apart with a force that sent him flying forward with a yelp and slammed his head into the trench wall, and groaned in pain when he stumbled back as debris and stone bits went hurling in all direction and a fireball flew upwards with heat that sent sweat immediately pouring down his face.
He shook his head furiously as his vision blurred from hitting his head, and he swung his sabers ahead of him, and saw double and began to felt off kilter. "For Force sakes, come on!" He snarled in anger and opened his eyes once more and saw more clearly and quickly turned to his right with five troopers running up and shooting at him. He quickly blocked and sent them flying back and hit one in the chest but the others fell to their knees and fired down scope at him, and he oddly was impressed but sent the bolts flying back, only to have them roll to their sides and away from the blaster fire, and now Viathan cocked a brow, but growled all the same.
Spun and blocked every bolt aimed at him and then on one spin sent a saber flying into them and watched another get impaled, and he called it back to him, and rounded on the last three, when he howled when his right shoulder was hit from behind and the sting of singed cloth and skin filled his nostrils. Another snarl coming from him he flung his left boot into the helmet of a trooper and spun fully in the air and brought a saber straight down upon the second and sent the third flying back with the Force, as he spun around and dropped as bolts came at him.
As he looked up he watched four troopers near to him while blasting, and he fought to keep blocking as he sensed the two still alive behind him get read to attack, when suddenly a flurry of blasts rocked into the chests and heads of the troopers staring him down, and he didn't waste time spinning and block two bolts right back into the shooters who slammer back dead, and Viathan grimaced as pain stung through his whole upper right chest region and back.
Clasping Ruin's saber, Viathan turned back to see his troopers jump into the trench followed by his Massassi, and he looked over the trench line to see another company of at least thirty running for the trench. He huffed out breath as the whole event had him winded, and he drew in on the pain and focused it even more. All it did was offer him more power, so why deny the pain?
"The enemy will be sending a platoon at least to secure this breach. Form up on the pathway for reinforcements with one of their repeaters. I want two squads on each side of the trench to the left and right and don't let them flank us." Viathan ordered while he cupped his shoulder and pointed to the positions he wanted covered as the men began taking Moff emplacements and ran into positions.
Viathan ducked as an artillery barrage slammed into the open region before the trench from the Moff side, and he sneered as he realized they already new they were flooding in. Snatching up his comlink he dialed into the artillery officers channel.
"Commander Viathan! How may I serve you sir?"
"I'm sending my marked position. My forces and company 45-A have taken a portion of the Moff trench positions. They are tying to force us out with their own artillery barrage. I need a barrage of our own to give me cover as I get rid of these kriffing AA emplacements, and open our air-support."
"Yes commander sir, I'll fire some kilometers ahead of your position and draw attention away." Viathan nodded. "Very good officer, get to it." He pocketed the comlink and snapped his right shoulder despite the pain and spun his saber hilt in preparation and grabbed Zar's shoulder.
"I know you and Grash don't like it, but I need you to grab a heavy blaster and arm him too and you're with me as we get rid of some Moff AA guns." The Massassi growled in dissatisfaction and distaste as blasters were not as honorable a weapon to the Massassi race, but he inclined his head deeply and Viathan patted his crimson shoulder encouragingly and he moved toward the path leading up to the Moff main circular command post, as his trooper fired a flurry of bolts into troopers using the blown out bunker and the one next to it as cover to fire on their new position.
"Hold this position at all costs! I have some heavy weaponry to destroy." The troopers acknowledged and all three positions began firing on Moff troopers rounding on them from all sides, as the sound of the artillery beyond the tree line cracked through the air and massive green projectiles flew in an arch through the air and Viathan followed them over the blown bunker and lost sight, and then a large planet shaking succession of blasts ripped through the air and shook the dirt off the trench wall and bunker debris rattled, and Viathan stumbled a bit.
"Overkill but useful I suppose. Zar, Grash, on me!" Viathan called and once more activated his crimson saber and dashed up the pathway going and jumping from left to right and dodged oncoming blaster bolts as the pungent smell of burning soil filled his senses and he slammed his saber up, facing away from him, and shoved it into a trooper to his right and jerked back toward his left and sent Ruin's saber from his belt into the other trooper with the Force alone and the trooper slammed back into the bunker wall impaled and dead. Viathan recalled the saber and slammed into a blaster bolt and sent it flying back with a satisfying hit on a further trooper, as he puled his saber from the trooper, and placed the sabers into an X formation.
Zar and Grash ran up on his sides with massive repeaters in their muscled crimson arms, and both monstrous warriors howled and sent a ripple of fear running through the enemy troopers who lowered their blasters and gawked for a moment as Viathan smirked in a lopsided manner. "Fire on all!" The Massassi howled again and then launched a massive endless stream of blaster bolts slamming into troopers in the smoke of the artillery barrage, and they flung back and flew back, falling dead and shot all across their armored bodies.
The endless and brutal streams of endless blaster bolts holding his enemies at bay and sending them running for cover, gave Viathan time to look across the area directly before him and then he caught a sudden flurry of heavy AA cannon fire to his left with heavy and loud streams of green bolts flying into the air and exploding or hitting target.
"That's my target! Hold and cover on me!" Viathan dashed forward with both sabers held back as he used the Force to run forward as the AA gun came into site surrounded by military barricades with five troopers suddenly peeping over the blockades and firing at Viathan who twirled up and over the stream and sent a saber into one trooper who was his through his eye piece, and then dodged more bolts through a spin, and came face to face with a trooper who he in a flash through his free left hand out and the claws shot out and he slammed them into the trooper into his neck. The gagging of the man was horrendous, and the hot blood of the man flowed down Viathan's mechanical hand as he clutched at the arm, and tried to force Viathan out, but Viathan obliged and put his right foot into the mans abdomen and kicked him off to bleed out.
Viathan had done this so fast the last troopers only just turned to see their friend follow with sudden metal claws coming from the boys hand, and covered in blood, and Viathan snarled and jumped over the barricade and kicked a trooper down as the other two shot at him, and he recalled his downed saber, and stabbed the downed one, as he spun around and spun his sabers into a backward facing manner and ran them both through the last two troopers as he kneeled their bolts. He pulled them out and let the bodies slump, and he turned toward the automated AA gun, and he simply jumped onto it and slashed its barrel off at the base, and jumped back off with a huff and jumped over the barricade and just then it fired again but instead of shooting normally it went wild and fired without end and then burning itself out, it blew apart completely.
Viathan covered his eyes as it went but quickly refocused as his Massassi comrades began to receive equally large bouts of blaster fire from troopers atop structures deeper into the Moff defensive HQ. With more providing fire from barricades on ground level, and Viathan ran for his friends...yes his friends. He liked the concept of Massassi being that, but now was not the time to muse.
"Fire on the rooftops, I got these!" Viathan fell into his Niman form in full and brought his sabers up to his chest in opposite facing manner, and expertly blocked all incoming fire from the troopers in front of his Massassi who hauled their repeaters on the higher level troopers and mowed them down. Viathan all the while finding it nothing less then a pure conviction to hold this line against the enemy shooters. Viathan smiled as the troops fell one by one to his Massassi and their surprisingly good shots and his defense of them with his sabers as the Force flowed around and through him with such ferocity that he felt his hair stand on in with exhilaration. Then, his heart skipped a beat and his smile faded when the soil shook, and the unmistakable sound of a walker came to his ears from his right.
Casting a glance he saw the object of his worry. An AT-ST moved in on their position and it walked in with greater speed than normal. The main cannons lined on him, and in a split-second decision he turned and swept both arms out to his sides and flung into the Massassi who fell backwards with him rolling down the path and the bunker providing them cover as a stream of walker cannon fire blasted the side of the bunker away, just missing the three. The two Massassi tumbled over one another and grunted when they stopped, rubbing their heads with growls releasing from their mouths as Viathan jumped back up with sabers activated. Noting that the troops in the trench were holding, with a few casualties, Viathan huffed out in ache and pain, but spun his sabers for form and release of tension.
"Both of you fall behind the barricade. I'll deal with the walker." Viathan commanded hearing the walker, and seeing the top of its box-head moving across the bunker. The Massassi silently followed their orders and fell behind the barricade as the sounds of blaster fire, tank fire, and artillery rounds endlessly continued to rock the whole region.
Viathan jumped back up the path and then quickly used the Force to jump onto the very top of the bunker to his right and found himself facing the left face of the walker as it continued to walk and try to round the bunker to see the enemies it had fired upon moments ago.
"Not today gentlemen." Viathan declared, and clasped Ruin's saber once more, and ran into a leap onto the top of the walker that didn't seem to be phased or know he was upon them as he clutched the entrance hatch. The massive walker finally turned the corner and lined its main cannons down at his troopers and Massassi who gawked up, frozen by the sight of the walker, or possibly their commander on top of it. Either way Viathan smirked and used the Force, to amplify his own strength with nothing but raw dark side energy, and with a great heave he threw the opening hatch aside, and the trooper and officer pair inside looked up in shock.
"Hold this for me." Viathan lazily asked and threw in his last thermal-det as both men just stared before panicking as Viathan laughingly jumped back off and onto the bunker and sent a Force low into the walker, tilting it as its head blew apart with a fireball erupting from the viewport and the top hatch as the walker then fell to the ground opposite to Viathan with the momentum making his tilt a full blown crash. Viathan eased his shoulders and wiped his brow of sweat with his right hand, as his left was still covered in Moff trooper blood. He then quickly snatched up his comlink.
"Stardestroyer Valiant IV, this is commander Viathan inside the enemy main hold perimeter. Do you copy?"
"We copy you sir." Kinti's voice came through and Viathan was too focused to ask where his master was.
"I am sending a coordinate mark for a TIE bomber run. The main outer AA turret on the perimeter has been destroyed, the bombers will be able to penetrate and bank out before reaching the bulk of AA concentration at the main HQ building. Take out these secondary AA guns, and then authorize a landing of three more platoons to this secondary coordinate point I am sending. I will lead them into the main fortification, personally."
"Full copy commander Viathan. Your orders have been authorized. Bombing run incoming in seventy seconds."
"Confirmed admiral." Viathan pocketed his comlink and jumped off the bunker and made sure to go inside and kill the foolish troopers who had huddled inside to wait out the assault and cleared up two of his old mentors bunker positions, as the screams of the TIE bombers flew overhead and into the enemy airspace. A rocking in succession hit the Moff stronghold and sent many troopers in and outside of the complex tumbling and stumbling.
Viathan kept even for the most part however, and turned to watch as several Lambda troop carriers landed in the open fields before the trench line under his command, with escorts of TIE interceptors peeling off with a swift crack over the troopers. Many dozens of more troops flooded out and ran into, then out of the trench and ran up to Viathan as Zar and Grash came up on either side of him.
"You troops will form up behind me. I'll lead the charge. The Moff complex is quite large. We still have dozens of pillbox bunkers set up all around the complex. We will spread confusion among these forces and cut a narrow swath through their inner perimeter. They will pull some units back to suppress and destroy us. We hold our lines, and get rid of all AA guns as we go, and clear up space for bomber support to clear out Moff strongholds. Inch by bloody inch we'll push in until we get to the main HQ building peeking over the top of all the other buildings there." Viathan pointed towards the center of the perimeter and everyone looked to see a cement structure peek out over another building.
"Inside, general Morlin should be hold up, and we will catch the commander of all Moff forces in the Tapani sector. All other enemies and objectives are secondary until otherwise stated by lord Kun. Understood."
"Yes commander!" They all declared and Viathan cocked a brow at the unified declaration but gave a single and curt nod.
"Good, now let's move." Viathan activated his saber once more and made for the front of his forces and spun his saber for good measure and rolled his aching right shoulder before holding his saber up close to his face casting a crimson glow, and dashed forward into the enemy lines. For this battle was not yet done, and night once more approached.
(Munificent-Class Star-Frigate, Mourning, a few days earlier)
"Madam Commander, the ship from Geonosis has landed in the hanger bay." Kellia turned from her viewport and from her musings while watching the Lucrehulk fleet outside, and taking in the magnificence of the monstrous ships. A simple and single B1 battle command droid was standing beside her as her two guarding B2 units towered over it, but remained quiet.
"Very good. Bring him to the bridge so I may speak with him, and get to matters of importance."
"Yes ma'am!" The droid cried in its squeaky mechanical voice and saluted awkwardly before moving back out of the bridge and into the corridor adjacent. Kellia numbly turned back and watched the fleet circle over and under the inactive Lurehulks, and she silently contemplated her next moves as the acting military commander of the growing and suddenly very vast armies of the URM. For starters the Mon-Calamari sector was the first to be liberated in full on her list. Not a one Moff or Imperial would live by the end of it. A second fleet with its own Lucrehulk spearheads would take all of Arkanis and secure Geonosis as a base of operations. Same thing for the Brema Sector, and a fleet of grand size was to be sent to Sluis Van to protect the shipyards and aid in the proceeding of more ships at greater speeds aided by droids of course. All that was needed now to commit to these attacks, and the eventual targets of the Mandalorian sector, and then the inner rims was all but assured to be hers, and the URM's. All that was needed was the new droid mass controller, and then al battle droids of CIS make and model, everywhere in the galaxy would be hers if she came across them, and right now she was staring at the untapped mother-load.
"My, I can't say I ever seen so many droids, and so many soldiers, so lacking in content. Gotta tell ya, I am not into the droid model you're taking after lady." Kellia didn't turn at first, and for a moment she swore it was Dase who brought the MDC, but this voice was speaking through a helmet, and it had a different tone. Nonetheless Kellia swiftly turned with her blue cloak whipping around her figure as she did, and came face to face with a man in Mandalorian armor, and for a split second her instincts screamed for her to attack and kill, but she kept herself restrained and realized who this was.
"I take it that you're Jodo Kast?"
"The one and only ma'am." The man bowed with an air of arrogance about him and Kellia rolled her dark eyes. "I swore I told Vorum to keep you on Geonosis and keep you busy until I returned to meet and interview you."
"That Dase Vorum is an alright guy, for a Corellian at least, but he mentioned you wanted this here droid controller, and thought to myself; 'why pass up an opportunity to meet the boss herself?'" Kellia allowed a ghost of a laugh to escape her throat but nothing more as she took in the armor of this man.
It was indeed Mandalorian. A yellow set of gauntlets, and shoulder-pads, with the same yellow color lining his T-visor on his mask, while the main armor was pale green, with under shirt and jeans being a lighter, yet still dull gray color. A jetpack behind the man and protruding out made his figure stand out, and so too did his set of blasters of various make and model but all of them no less likely able to kill, and finally she saw a single cloth hanging down his back from his right shoulder. Something she didn't see the reason for, but then again, she was wearing a blue cloak.
"I see... Well then, Jodo Kast, I have heard you would be interested in making a name for yourself and help the URM cause, in that order, and aid me in what could be described as a future personal mission. Am I on the mark so far?"
"So far, yeah. I was told by Vorum that you got some vendetta for the Mandos. Gotta say, when I heard that I knew I was your man for the job. I don't wear this armor as a fashion statement, or any sorta love for the Mandos, but I gotta admit the armor is good stuff. But anyways, what's the deal with the Mandalorians and you eh? Didn't think they were on the side of Moff or Imps." Kellia snorted as she waved her B2's off to the side of the aisle and out of her personal space, and neared to Kast, who took his blaster rifle and finally let it fall along his waist on a strap wrapping around his right shoulder.
"They are within the Moff sphere of control, but officially reports show they are adding nothing to the overall war effort as local fleets and garrisons have been shifted to the new Moff fronts against us and the Empire. The Mandalorians however feel no desire or obligation to choose the right path. Rather they are content to sit idly by as the galaxy rips into itself, as these...cowards tend to." Kellia spat and came up close to the helmeted man and outstretched her hand. He silently reached behind himself and pulled out a device no bigger then a datapad, and planted it into her palm. Kellia clutched her new toy, and activated the Mass-Controller where a blue screen appeared, and began scanning for droids, and much to her delight it was straightforward and simple, and indicated to her unactivated droid units in mass quantity behind her and beyond her viewport.
"The Mandalorians, if you think about it Kast, are the greatest threat to Galactic security if it were not for the Sith, or if you're not knowledgeable of the Sith, Dark Jedi to make it simple. For generations they teach their young to fight and kill, and one day all that aggression and all that energy and pent up desire to fight leads to one of two things. A criminal life where they can, I guess make their fathers proud by killing and hurting others for money. Truly an honorable mission." Kellia's voice was dripping with sarcasm as she motioned for him to follow her toward the viewport and he did so silently.
"Or, the second possibility is that the rabble, a group or at least the majority come together to wage genocidal, oh I'm sorry, 'honorable,' war upon the galaxy in their crusades. It has happened before. I am going to ensure that on top of the Galactic Empire and this Moff Alliance falling to the URM cause, I will see the Mandalorians either humbled and reeducated to act like civilized members of galactic society, or face their own annihilation by superior forces...droids." Kellia snickered ever so slightly at the thought, but hid it from Jodo, who crossed his arms while looking over the Lucrehulks surrounded by Kellia's fleet.
"So you want a man on the job who can drop Mandos? I can do that, but the question I got is what will that fancy council think about your little plot?"
"The Supreme Council is young, and still prone to bouts of fear over impending Imperial attack and Moff attacks." Kellia said dismissively as she looked over her new MDC once more. "I already have allies on the council who will see the reasoning in subduing all eventual and possible threats in the galaxy rather than just taking off the head of evil, the Emperor and his empire, we must cut off all limbs, and appendages."
Jodo laughed through his mask. "So you want to use the URM to get your revenge on the Mandos? For what?"
"Suddenly a humanitarian Kast?" Kellia asked with a sideways glance and cocked brow.
"No, I have no reason to hate the Mandalorians. However, their ways, and their codes, and warrior nature were responsible for the very first batches of clones who fought my little droids here during the Clone Wars. They were trained by Mandalorians and cloned from a Mandalorian bounty hunter, by the name of Fett."
"Fett?!" Jodo suddenly cried and Kellia again cats him a glance, to see the helmeted man staring at her, and she could sense his surprise, and sudden spike of anger, and more importantly...pride?
"Yes...a man named Jango Fett was a bounty hunter of Mandalorian training, and ways. He was a skilled man, and used to create the clone armies of the Republic. Until his ultimate demise on Geonosis. To a Jedi saber. I think he may have had a personal clone made for himself to train as a son...and I get the sense you know of this already?"
"Boba Fett. I know of that Mandalorian." Kast spat through his mask. "I can also tell ya I'm ten times the warrior that man will ever be, and a clone at that! I am better than some damn clone." Kellia smirked, but hid it from Kast. 'Oh how easy it was to make you see things from my perspective Kast. You'll be useful indeed.'
"Indeed? Well if you think you're so much better than these clones and thus the Mandalorians, let me ask you. What would you like more? To be known and remembered as Jodo Kast, that one bounty hunter slash, rebel who did very little except maybe fight in a few battles? Or..." Kellia rounded over to stand beside him and waved her arm dramatically before him. "Jodo Kast, the warrior in the Mandalorian armor, who brought the clans of Mandalore to their knees before him. The man who led the URM armies to victory over these foul and less capable people than you? The man who conquered Mandalore and the Mandalorian sector. Jodo Kast the Conqueror, Jodo Kast the Great." Kellia intoned with an awed voice, and she could see Kast nodding along very much liking the ring to it, as she appeared to his weakness. Glory, and fame. 'You're mine now Kast. I suppose the old man taught me one thing. How to appeal to basic desires within someone other than yourself, and get them to do as you ant. Very useful indeed.'
"It does have a nice sound to it don't it?" Kast said as he continued to stare numbly out the viewport as Kellia imagined scenarios of grandeur were running through his head.
"I'd say you got yourself the right man for the job." Jodo finally declared and Kellia laughed lowly.
"Don't be so hasty Kast. I have yet to see you in action, and you have yet to see if I am worth my own weight in the field of battle! Today we reactivate this massive store of droids and Lucrehulks. Tomorrow we take back three whole sectors from the Moffs or Imps, and then we take the Outer-Rim, and in that time, we will take the Mandalorian sector as well. So, if you are up for it...Commander Kast, I'd like you to become my number two for the next phase of our war, and we'll both see if the other is what they say they are."
"Hmm...and what is it hat you say you are Nelrain?" Jodo asked, and Kellia smirked.
"I'm just a very bad, and failed Jedi turned freedom fighter, who is willing to bend the rules to win, and make the galaxy are far better place. I am also willing to do what is right, and necessary, or if need be sell another piece of my soul for victory." Kellia declared face to face with the man who bowed his head a bit.
"I see. Then I say, sure! Let's have a go of the Moffs and Imps. I'll show ya why I'm the best at what I do." Kellia smiled.
"Good. Now, first things first. Let me just activate my pretty little droid armies. For too log have they been sitting idle, and unused." Kellia activated the MDC and pinged all inactive ships and droids within. Setting in the new command and parameters of the droids serving the URM she sent out the reactivation code and new commands. Before her and Jodo all the Lucrehulks began to light up very slightly where light fro the ships escaped, as their automated functions reactivated along with the droids within. The MDC showed well over thirty million droids in total within and now processing their new orders. In a flash the ship began receiving transmissions from the ships and asking for orders causing a broad grin to pass over Kellia's face.
"Care to join me for a quick inspection of our new naval additions commander?"
"Why not?" He said with a shrug of his shoulders and Kellia waved him along and they both made for the hanger bay with her two guardian droids following close behind.
Soon these ships would be deployed across the Outer-Rim, and once more, for the first time in thirteen years, bring the might and awe of the droid armies and navies to the galaxy. Only this time under the URM banner of freedom and justice. Their own brand of it of course.
(Tapani Sector, Sefon, One day later, Current Time)
Flipping to his side, Viathan dodged another heavy-repeater blast and tossed his saber into the group of Moff troopers manning the weapon and watched them one by one fall in pieces to the ground beneath, and then the saber came flying back to him as he landed and spun away from a bout of heavy blaster fire from the rooftop of the Moff HQ building.
The night had come and gone with his troopers cutting their narrow swath into the Moff hold, and taking down another five AA gun emplacements through artillery and explosive charges, with Moffs on either side blasting away at them and whittling them down one by one, but an hour into the rising of the Sefon star his master finally sent in the second wave of reinforcements with the naval battle overhead being declared over with full Imperial victory one more, at a loss of a Stardestroyer, and ten other ships, with sixteen in varying arrays of damage. However with that a swell of another thirty thousand Stormtroopers was flooded to Sefon's surface and three thousand given to his command alone in his assault, which was still the only entrance the Empire had to Morlin's defensive ring. The fight was only getting harder however. Moff troopers had another trench around the center building of command, and had repeaters along the trench behind barricades where troopers fired endless streams of loud cracking blaster fire, with secondary boxes lined with sharpshooters who relentlessly picked off Viathan's forces. TIE bombing runs were helpful but still at a risk for being shot down by the many AA emplacements Viathan and his unit simply could not reach, and thus only a narrow line, a corridor, into the Moff ring was open to the bombers lining up and releasing payloads into with the probability of AA's hitting them still high. However, before him now was his target. The main hold of Morlin, his old mentor, and he could practically taste victory.
"Grash, Zar, move on me!" He called as the star of Sefon reached mid-morning and his two Massassi comrades once more dropped their distaste for blasters and held their massive repeaters in their hands. The growled I anticipation and ran forward well bent to sweep pass a barrage of fire coming from both sides. Viathan swung full around and hurdled his saber up into the air and with the force directed it into and through one, two, three, four, five troopers on the HQ roof who fell like insects and dropped dead, with two falling off the roof in a heap.
"What is needed of us, Viathan?" Zar asked, sounding uncomfortable calling him 'Viathan' instead of some sort of honorable title like lord. Viathan captured his saber in his hand and motioned his hand down, and the three beings all hunkered down to talk as both Imperial and Moff troops fired on one another from an assortment f covers for both sides, while these three had a blown out sinkhole in the ground where artillery hit to keep covered with allied troopers covering them.
"I will make entry into the HQ, and I'll need something to draw their attention. Otherwise the kid with the glowing swords will be the obvious and exposed target." The Massassi slightly chuckled and Viathan smirked, but quickly turned serious again.
"Now we are to the left of the entrance which is facing leftward as well. They have some open ports on either side of the building to provide support and fir on our advance. We can't reach those, and even a saber would take to long to get in. Artillery is out of range, and moving them forward would expose them to Moff anti-armor. Bombers wouldn't help me get Morlin either, I want a man, not a corpse to come out of that building with me. So, the only thing I can do is straightforward attack of the entrance. It's simple I think, this structure is all stone, and new at that. Built likely for this invasion situation, so they should have an open entrance with nothing but intense guards and barricades with probably automated turrets emplacements." The Massassi nodded their understanding as a grenade exploded nearby and caused the three of them to collectively duck lower as soil flew onto and beside them.
"In order for me to get near that entrance, I need to get these shooters along their sides off me, and so I was hoping two big red aliens would scare them enough into not noticing me, and trying to kill you two. Something I doubt they could do." Viathan smiled and the Massassi grinned their toothy grins as their naturally yellow eyes shone brighter with pride and excitement.
"Good, I can see you're both for it. Alright then, you two break right and draw the fire from their ports, fire on them as well but keep sidestepping, don't become sitting targets, make them work for it, and a bit of your burgeoning Force abilities may come into use Zar'kai." Zar nodded understandingly.
"I'll have a squad of troopers cover your left flank, and I'll break for left and make for the doorway, the Force being my ally, and less enemies looking for me, I should look like a blur. Once I'm in I'll take them out one by one. They'll be so confused as to how their HQ has been breached that they'll cease being fully functional in coordinating their defensive perimeters. A massive artillery barrage of their outer perimeter should have them reeling, and overload their senses. Drown them in confusion and fear and the whole stack of cards will come proverbially, crashing down."
"In full agreement with you, Viathan." Zar spoke up with his gruff and heavily accented basic speech and Viathan patted his Massassi friends muscled shoulder, and smirked.
"Alright. You have your orders, I have my plans, now as soon as I jump, you go, and I'll get your left flank covered." The Massassi nodded and hoisted up their repeaters and growled out their excitement as the Force bristled around them.
"Now!"
Viathan jumped out and immediately blocked oncoming blaster fire and the two Massassi jumped up and sprayed a whole line of Moff troops down, causing some to flail around as they were ripped into with fire. Calls rung out from the Moff lines at the Massassi threat as Viathan used the Force to propel himself over more fire and duck under some, before he came behind a long stone barricade where ten troopers were crouched and firing pot shots into enemy lines.
"Troopers! Cover the left flank of the two Massassi, and draw fire! Split the enemy attack in two!" They all declared their understanding and the Troopers stood and fired a mass bout of fire at the Moffs who fell back low to escape the oncoming flurry. Viathan broke to his right with the Force aiding him and soon planted his whole body against the wall of the HQ building and found himself facing the backs of the troopers within the Moff trench along the building perimeter, and they were all completely unaware that he was behind them, and he didn't want to alert them as they concentrated their fire on the two Massassi firing madly into them, and the trooper line firing into their allies and covering the Massassi. Hugging the wall with his hands pressed along with his back along the cold and rough stone of the building he began crawling slowly toward his relative right toward the corner where the entrance was. He jerked low when overhead a blaster went off and he glanced up to see a port where a stream of red bolts came spraying out and he followed it as it shred into one of his troopers and he sneered in rising anger, and began moving once more and faster. His troops luckily had the insight to call more of the allies up from the back to aid them in covering Zar and Grash as they howled like monsters and sent chills of horror and fear into the Moff troopers as they easily swung their heavy repeaters in hand and sprayed endless bolts in all directions and through sheer probability they hit and killed at least five troopers and growing as the battle all around blew into a sensory overload of blasters going off with haphazard explosions going off left and right. He kept on moving and as he got closer to the edge and watched as enemy troopers in the trench fired endlessly at his men his anger grew but he forced it all down for use in a moment, for when e finally reached the side of the building, he stopped and pulled out both his and Ruin's sabers and readied them in his hands, and gripped them firmly in his hands.
"One, two...three!" Viathan said aloud and dashed around the corner with activated sabers and came up behind a running trooper and landed a kick into his back and stabbed him threw as he fell. He quickly sidestepped and flew in a mad twirl into a group of three troopers and slashed threw them in an assortment of ways, and immediately other troopers near to the entrance spotted and opened fire on him. He drew on every intense emotion and vision of his fallen men, and he focused in on the bolts and sent every one flying away from him even as he advanced and the troopers began to worriedly step back more and more until he was upon them.
Slashing off an arm, carrying the momentum and hacking threw a chest, the second saber removing a head as he spins, with both sabers in synchronization coming back down in an arch on another trooper, he fell low and slashed up through another trooper, acrobatically sent a roundhouse kick into a trooper and used the same momentum to spring back up and bring a saber low.
With pure Force aided instinct he sensed more Moff troops and turned to toss his saber in a vertical motion into a trooper and threw the man back, he recalled the saber, using Ruin's to block a bolt from behind him, and sent a Force wave into the direction and three troopers flew back. Catching the second saber once more, and releasing a breath he broke into another run as the troopers began to realize what he was doing and they began abandoning his distraction. He was before the entrance door and took quick note that there were indeed two barricades set up on either side of the corridor leading into the building, a narrow walkway up the middle, with three automated turrets on the roof t=of the entrance. Three troopers behind each barricade aiming down their sights at him, and he heard more men from his sides and behind him coming up on him, and as such he swung his arms behind him and with the Force ran forward once more at the entrance.
The turrets caught sight of him and opened fire with extremely fast strings of red bolts, and Viathan dodged the three and was forced to slow down, but he quickly swung his saber back and tossed it and like a boomerang it went from left to right and sliced through every single turret and allowed what was left to fall next to and onto the guarding troops. Catching his saber and twirling away from blaster fire from behind, he dashed forward once more, as bolts ripped from the troops guarding the large and rectangular entrance. He jumped over, and away and even under the bolts with ease and speed unknown to these troops. Finally he stopped and dashed up into the air, and in the air he tossed a saber and it went slamming into and through a trooper, and he went flying down into a second with his second saber and ran him through as well, and called his saber back to him, and with both he blocked several bolts and sent them flying away and back to the troops who fired.
He propelled himself into the second group of troops and came jumping up with a spin of his body and swiped his sabers through all three and found but one trooper left behind him, and with a toss of one saber over his shoulder he blocked a final bolt and it went flying back into the head of said last trooper.
Viathan found himself alone in the entrance-way and looked out toward the rest of the Moff controlled zone and found many other troopers forming up on him to push him out of their base of operations. Looking down he realized the two massive stone barricades the troopers had used were not bolted down or built into the facility. Clasping his sabers Viathan took hold of both blocks with the Force, lifted them up into the air, and with a great dark side aided push they both went flying and twirling across the soil into the oncoming troops who cried and dodged or ducked. While others were smashed, slammed, and crushed under the stone blocks. Then with a flash he swiped up both his sabers and threw left arm over right shoulder, and right arm over left shoulder and with a great cry he threw both and again like on Tallaan the sabers went both spinning through the air into the Moff troopers and one by one they fell to the sabers and howled in pain as limb, and body parts went flying away from them, and went quiet as their heads were taken as well.
He though back to what his master taught him and with him drawing on every ounce of anger, rage, and pain he could, he sent out a great telekinetic wave of dark side energy, his masters so called 'Force Blast,' and watched as the pure power of the attack ripped into and sent dozens of men flying away and back, armor ripped off them, and blasters flew away, as bones cracked and body parts snapped from the unbridled release of raw power. As his sabers came spinning back and he grabbed them, with him heaving breaths form the raw release he watched the troops scatter, run and hide behind makeshift cover, and he smiled and turned and made into the HQ building to find his old mentor.
He found himself inside a large and seemingly empty antechamber of stone lined with consoles and computers, and he realized there were no officers and communications technicians, and cocked a brow when he sensed the intent through the Force, and couldn't help but smile. The second floor was an open walkway that lined the sides of the wall with no central zone, and lining this walkway was a seemingly necessary line of stone to make sure one did not fall off. In a split second over these sides a whole line of some twenty or thirty troops came over with their blasters aimed down at him with an array of ten officers armed with their blaster pistols, and they thought they had him cornered and he almost laughed at that.
So with equal speed he crouched and propelled himself up and into a back-flip through the air and behind the troops on the second floor walkway behind him facing the entrance and they followed and shot through the air, and when he landed one officer was shot by his allies lining the other wall, like morons. He landed by two troopers who he ran through with his sabers. Pulling them out and spinning full around and brought both sabers down onto another. Swiping both sabers then up from under his arms e slashed into two troopers beside him, and threw one into another trooper, hacked at yet another, jumped foot first into another and sliced his head off, and called his second saber back. The dark side was coursing through him and in a near blacked out state he went from one trooper to the next bringing them down one by one, and they all fell before him. Running them through, hacking off limbs, sending them falling and dying and hitting them with blasts or lightning. Adrenaline pounded and his blood rushed his crimson eyes burned with every man he slaughtered, and by the end of it he stood heaving and struggling to regain his senses as he towered over a fallen officer he had sent flying with the Force against the stone wall. Bodies were strew about the second floor walkway with the stone wall and the lining along the walkway itself covered with sabers burns and missing entire stone bits. For Viathan had gone all out with his Jar'Kai, and had struck down every and all of his enemies. Save one. This one lonely officer was beneath him on the floor and groaning in pain. It was here that Viathan realized just how hollow and empty this HQ building was, and he snarled out in rage and his face contorted in anger, as he hauled the man up to his face.
"Where is general Coldor Morlin?!" Viathan demanded with a voice of cold and barely kept rage. The officer shakily pointed, and Viathan followed his finger toward a large holocomms device on the opposite walkway. Viathan growled under his breath and dragged them man toward the other side of the walkway through the middle path which was lined with bodies and the man squirmed and cried when he ran over bodies and parts lining the way. Viathan tossed the man toward the machine and the officer huffed in pain.
"I suspect whatever it is you want me to knok has to do with making a call...so make it." The officer, never speaking a word nodded and as shakily as before keyed in on the console, and in a matter of moments a human sized hologram of none other than General Morlin, with his well kept uniform, stone face of knowledge and wisdom, and weary eyes, that Viathan knew to be blue stared down at the officer with his hands behind his back.
"Officer. I do hope you have a reason for contacting me outside our parameters for contact and reports. Has something happened?" The man swallowed a lump in his throat and nearly spoke before Viathan tossed him aside and he crumpled to the floor with another seethe of pain, and Morlin recoiled slightly at the sight.
"Indeed he did, general Morlin. I have taken and ru through your command center on Sefon. The HQ of Sefon is overrun, your forces guarding it will fall soon, and in time the rest of the world." Coldor looked Viathan up and down and then he cocked his head to the side, before speaking in a probing manner.
"Valek Zalliste? Is that indeed you?"
"Indeed it is me general Morlin. I had hoped to find you here as intelligence reported and bring you to Imperial justice." Morlin huffed in an obviously unimpressed manner.
"Of all the people I would have to fight, it ends up being the one pupil I was ever called to teach in the art of ground warfare by the Emperor. How profound I think. Still, I will enlighten you. The intelligence passed on to the Empire was false. I was never upon Sefon. Indeed I never intended on being, but I knew if I sent out one unverifiable rumor into the mess that is Imperial Intelligence, they would send a rushed and hurried command that your superior commander, lord Kun, should take me down here and now. Certainly Valek I taught you better than that?" Coldor asked, not in a demeaning or arrogant manner, rather he spoke it as a matter of fact and Viathan released his annoyance by grinding his teeth.
"I should have known better than to trust the competency of Imperial Intelligence, and so should have my...superior commander, lord Kun. You are a hard man to find Morlin. Where were you these last few days then? Relaxing upon Mrlsst while your men fought, bled and died on a world far from you? Whatever happened to that front-line commander who fought next to and with his men?" Morlin smiled, and awkwardly enough for Viathan it seemed more prideful, for Viathan than for himself.
"You remember your lessons well Valek. That's what I always liked about you. You absorb that which you are taught with efficiency I have not seen in many. To answer your question, I'll ask another. Can you be upon every battlefield in your campaign at once Valek? If a battle rages upon Carida and you are there with your armies, can you manage the attack upon Elrood?" Coldor reasoned and Viathan sighed and ran a hand through his sweat covered and matted hair.
"Then where were you if I may ask my old mentor?"
"Your commander was attacking another world, or his underling, Ulan was. The world of Lusk, Ulan attacked here, and was swiftly pushed out through a very interesting space battle. Your commanding officer will be out of twenty-three more ships." Morlin stated matter-of-factly. "It matters not. For you will be out another fleet above Sefon, and your army upon Sefon will fall to me. Your defensive ring has failed and I have breached a swath into it, and broken your HQ command structure. Secondary commanders in the field will have to coordinate their own operations now, and may I add that you and I both know, that wont work."
"This is true, my old student. I am...saddened that it must be you I have to fight against, but I shall attempt to see you through the lens of your CO Kun, and your despot, murderous, monster of a leader you call Palpatine."
"The corruption of Moffs makes the Emperor almost tame, Morlin. You joined this rebellion due to your being reassigned because you took issue with lord Vaders attack upon Kashyyyk. I read the report." Viathan shot back, but found himself more calm as he talked to his old mentor, his rage now fully returned under his control.
"I did not leave to join the Moff Alliance over a simple reassignment duty! Any officer can be demoted for questioning the legality and moral ethics of his CO, but it was something that finally opened my eyes to what I had subscribed to for thirteen years. The Moffs are no group of humanitarians, Valek, but your master is something different, and what was done to the Wookiees this last invasion was more then I could stand to watch. I will no longer subscribe to this Empire, to this Emperor, and to this system, for like the Republic the Galactic Empire is stagnating under the rule of this man, this monster unlike anything the galaxy has ever known." Morlin was not in the slightest unconvincing in his speech and Viathan lowered his eyes as he realized how much he and Morlin were in actuality the same line of thought in many ways, but he could not dare say so.
"It matters not Morlin We are now enemies, and one of us will kill or capture the other, and you know what I am. You know you will not capture me, so you will need to kill me to stop me. I will not hesitate to stop you should my master command it either."
"I would expect nothing less from a good soldier, and follower of orders. A shame it is that it must be this way, and a shame that someone like you will be my enemy, for now I will have an actual challenge and not the easy win I thought." Morlin smiled in that rare way Viathan knew to be when he was complimenting someone. Viathan felt his stomach twist but he didn't dare ay anything kind in reply.
"Then this conversation is over Coldor Morlin. We will meet again before the end."
"Indeed we will I feel. I do hope you treat that officer as a POW, and remember what I taught you about that certain level of civility I think is appropriate during war. Until we meet again then, y old student." Morin bowed and his channel cut out and left Viathan to hang his head in anger and even a level of shame, but he buried it as quickly as he felt it and with a great intake of breath he brought his head back up and shook away the thoughts of Morlin and his relationship he had with him.
The officer cowered as Viathan turned to look at him, his crimson eyes sending a shiver through the man, as the muffled sounds of war continued ever one outside.
"You are a POW...stop wetting yourself, and submit yourself with some pride, and you may make it out of this with some level of peace and sanity. You understand?" The man dumbly and quickly nodded and Viathan inclined his head and with quickness and ease bound the mans hands with a harness and sat him in the corner of the bottom level of the building, and accessed the many computers of the building, and found the command console for the soldiers and contacted his artillery units, and ordered them to fire a mass barrage into the bunker lines. When that happened and the massive explosion rocked the region, Viathan sent out an order for all Moff troops to abandon forward defensive positions, and recall to the main building. They did as such, and he soon had hundreds of troopers running towards his position, where he quickly ordered his artillery units to move forward and fire on coordinates outside the building and into the growing cluster of enemy forces. The building shook and Imperial troops overran the long coveted Moff bunker lines, and ran deep into the Moff security zone, and surrounded those who survived the artillery attack, and both armies aimed down sights at one another.
Viathan stepped into the light and came outside the building with a saber activated. The Moff troops turned and saw him and they knew he wasn't their officer, and especially so when two massive crimson aliens came around the left corner and stood by him with their repeaters in hands. With more than a thousand loyalist forces surrounding them and walkers being heard approaching they stood in silence and fear.
"Lay down your weapons, and accept arrests as men, as soldiers, and we will take you into custody accordingly. Refuse to do so, and authority is given to strike you down where you stand." The last Moff troopers looked to one another and with their masks they couldn't gauge truly what their allies and comrades thought, but they could feel it in the air practically. As such they all dropped their blaster rifles and pistols and raised their arms up, and the loyalist troops eased themselves and Viathan ordered them arrested as POW's. A victory was achieved a day later upon Sefon with the command structure destroyed, and soon the Imperial propaganda machine at the behest of Emperor Palpatine promoted the story on how; despite not capturing or killing Morlin, 'Field-Commander' Viathan led the Imperial armies to victory on Sefon through what was thought to be an impenetrable defensive line. The propaganda holding no scruples in declaring the boy only fifteen and as such, a 'prodigy,' of the Empire. When he heard of this Viathan shook his head, for he was playing into the machine of his old master, but little did he know, he was also doing so for his new master, and across the galaxy a certain 'Failed' Jedi woman watched the holonet news of the boy and his exploits and she sneered, for Kellia had failed to kill him twice now. She would not fail to do so next time, and take from the Empire its prodigy.
For now though, the boy's face was plastered across the holonet for all to see, and Viathan for his part hated it. He didn't realize that this would occur more as time went on and not just for himself either, as war always needed it celebrities.
Authors Note: Once more I have typed up the longest chapter yet, no beating my old record! Anyways, it is indeed a long chapter, and filled to the brim with the battle of Sefon and hopefully you guys like it. For don't worry not EVERY battle will be this detailed, but some will be. :) Also if any of you don't know Jodo Kast is a canon Star Wars character and recommended to me by a reader and I think he's an awesome addition. Look him up, and you'll get his character and motivations. Also some time skipping will begin to become more obvious as I begin to show the more important aspects of the war, and I will maybe write up wiki style chapters devoted to telling you want s happening in the general war. I'll look into what I can do don't worry. :)
With that said, please as usual excuse or point out any and all grammatical errors, and enjoy the chapter. Your comments, reviews, critiques (not flames) will be accepted, and taken into consideration, however understand this story is up to my discretion with ideas, as it is MINE! :D Thanks for keeping me and my story going everyone see ya at the next post!
