Now in my honest defense, Batman started the whole fight that night. In a split second, he had shot the batarang at Uncle Penguin first, and everything exploded right then. Not literally, though that would've been a blast!

Penguin opened his umbrella and deflected the batarang, taking cover behind it while at the same time, he started shooting at Batman with his own pistol.

As Batman jumped out of the way to hide behind a fallen table, I noticed Scarecrow climbing up to the air vent, and Two-Face flipping his coin behind the pedestal, most likely debating whether to stay and fight or run away.

Rolling my eyes slightly as Two-Face decided to leave, I sighed and grinned at my Mom and Dad, who were laughing at The Boy Blunder as he tried to get a good hit at them.

I jumped on top of the table and ran to the their end, the card in my hand ready to slice. Snickering, I shot my card at him hoping to slice his face. To my disappointment, he jumped out of the way in the nick of time. Joker pouted when he saw Robin come at me without a scratch from the card but soon was distracted by the Batman on the other side of the table.

"Where's the fun if you just keep dodging?" I asked, laughing and throwing a punch at Blunder Boy's face.

"There's not supposed to be any fun." He replied, baring his teeth as he managed to kick me in my stomach.

Wheezing at the impact, I flew off the table and crashed into the wall, sliding down to the ground near the parlor exit.

'Fuck that hurt...' I thought, standing back up while putting a fake smile on my face.

He came closer and I caught him off guard by laughing at him.

"Hahaha!" I laughed, brushing myself off, forcing myself not to wince at the pain. "You got me!"

From the corner of my eyes I noticed the chaos diminishing and I risked glancing quickly around. The Riddler and Penguin were nowhere in sight, and TwoFace was unconscious on the floor near the pedestal with an abandoned batarang besides him. Catwoman was fighting to climb up the roof without getting detected. Behind Catwoman was Scarecrow who was jumping on Mr. Freeze's shoulders to jump out the window. Running past us was Daddy, taunting Batsy and running in a circle, hopping over fallen chairs and chandeliers. Mother was chasing right after Batman, holding her hammer behind her head and grinning and laughing along with Dad.

My eyes went back to Robin and I grinned widely, seeing him slightly distracted by Harles who had just sprinted past him. Using that second I had to my advantage, I ran to him and swiftly uppercutted him right in the jaw, using all my strength to make him pay for my back. He crippled to the floor and before I had time to gloat, a shadow jumped to the top of the podium.

It was Ivy, and she had one of her smokebombs in her hand, seeing as Batman was busy with my parents and we weren't going to make it without heading to Arkham... and we just escaped a week ago. In a flash, the entire mansion was covered in hazy green smoke, making Robin start to cough on the ground. Before running out, I kneeled down next to Boy Blunder and whispered into his ear.

"There's always fun."

"... And therefore, setting up someone else to cover your tracks is much funner than just covering them up yourself." Penguin concluded, walking back in forth on the grass.

Felina was furiously scribbling down her notes, catching ever word and focusing. Besides me, Trivial was calmly jotting down words, taking his time and sweeping his black hair out of his face. Frost was pretending to listen, making snowflakes fall on Felina's back bit my bit. I could see her jaw tighten, but knowing my best friend, she was determined not to lose her cool, pun completely intended.

Sighing from boredom, I put my notebook down on the ground and laid my head on Trivial's shoulders, taking my pencil and beginning to doodle on his paper instead. I felt him chuckle and he shut his notebook.

"Redina." Aunt Ivy snapped, putting her hands on her hips. "Since you've been paying so much attention, would you like to explain our training for today?"

Lazily, I lifted my head up and pouted. "But Aunt Ivy..."

"Running Away Maneuver 12." Felina said under her breath, running her nails through her hair.

Grinning, I stood up. "Running Away Maneuver 12!"

Shaking her head and suppressing her smile, Pammy nodded and pointed to the trees.

"Boys against girls. Hop to it. First one to find the teams painting and bring it to us wins. Extra points if you can plant a fake trace." She explained quickly, setting up the timer Penguin had brought. "Go."

Shoving Frost back to the ground as he tried to get up, Felina sprung up to the first tree, hopping from one branch to the other. Following her, I giggled as I heard the boys begin to bicker on which way to go.

"Look, there's the painting." Felina whispered, pointing with her sharp claws towards an oak tree. It had a painting nailed to it and was completely clear of any threats. Or so we would have liked to think.

"I got it." I told her, taking out my cards and whipping one at the floor below it and space above it. As we thought, a net closed and sprung up from the floor and the card that was stuck to the tree was electrocuted to dust.

"Damn... Who set up the traps this time?" I asked, amused.

Felina shook her head and walked towards the painting, picking it up and climbing back up the tree with me. "That would be your dad."

"Awesome."

As she was struggling to hold the painting up, I heard the boys rustle through the bushes a few yards away and immediately thought of a plan.

"Give me a second, Lina." I whispered, taking out my knife and walking to the tree.

"Nina!" She protested, tugging at the portrait. It was an ugly painting to be honest. Just a boring sunset. Not even an explosion. "We gotta head back!"

Carving a big question mark at the bark of the tree trunk, I smirked.

"Not without the extra points." I told her, climbing back and helping her pick it up.

"Oh sure. Carve your Lover Boy's sign." She teased, and I felt myself turn a slight pink.

"I will end you, cat." I hissed, hoping no one heard.

Trivial and I have been friends since forever, like the four of us. Only him and I... we've always been a different close. Now that we're older, we tend to act shyer, angrier and compassionate towards each other at the weirdest moments. Which was why Felina called him Lover Boy. She was convinced that he was head over heels for me.

And deep down, I was beginning to think I was too.

Laughing, Felina hurried along the branches and led us back to Penguin and Ivy, whom were waiting while eating some cookies.

"Well done Redina and Felina." Penguin congratulated, standing up to give us our prize.

Before he reached us, Pammy sprung from her seat and put her hand out, motioning for him to stop.

"Which one of you..." She began, starting to sound very angry. "Carved into one of my babies."

"Shit." I muttered under my breath, just in time as Trivial and Frost sprinted out of the forest, carrying their own painting.

"Redina, you're in so much trouble." Felina mumbled to me, seeing Ivy turn to me with a piercing glare and Penguin give the prize to the boys instead out of fear of Pammy. "I bet you feel so -"

Crummy. That's what it felt like after the escape out of the abandoned mansion. As I drove the hearse nervously back to Joker's Factory, it was deadly silent. The type of silence that only could happen when one of the most dangerous villains is seething with rage.

"I...um, wonder where Felina was." I said with fake curiosity, trying to break the silence.

"Curiosity killed the cat." Dad sneered with hate, crossing his arms and twirling his gun around his finger.

I gulped and looked straight ahead, knowing perfectly well how The Joker gets when he's mad. It gets dangerous, and not the fun kind.

"Puddin', you can call her when we get home." Harles assured me, talking softly so Dad wouldn't get annoyed.

I nodded and stopped talking. My Dad wasn't in the mood for idle conversation or any type of conversation, especially since we were forced to run away from Batman. That was one of the things that pissed him off the most. Him not being able to finish his fun.

I parked the car next to the factory slowly and killed the engine, pulling out the keys and handing them to Harley. She took them and was about to open her door when Dad slammed his open, muttering cuss words under his breath and walking inside.

He used to be way worse, lashing out at Mom and doing the worst things possible. But ever since I was born, he had forced himself to control his anger and use it to protect us, not hurt us. To hurt other people instead. At least that's what Pammy told me.

"I'll be in my room." I told Mom once we reached the front door, sighing.

She nodded and went to follow Dad, tossing the keys on the couch and peeking around the kitchen entrance.

"WHERE ARE THE CAR KEYS?!"
