Chapter 135: Oh No!
A startled scream escaped Marian's throat as she fell through the air, but the sound was cut off the second her back hit the frigid water. It felt as though she hit concrete, and the air was knocked out of her lungs in a burst of bubbles that fled her mouth, only to be replaced by murky lake water as she instinctively inhaled. She flailed her arms around, and her legs struggled to move properly, her jeans weighing her down as it absorbed the liquid that was surrounding and choking her.
In that moment, she cursed her inability to swim.
