Opening - Rolling Star by Yui
X
Silently, Naruto mused that his identity was completely obscured at the moment. He, along with most of his team, was clad in a traditional ninja shouzoku made of thin green fabric, including a cloth mask that concealed almost all of his face except for his eyes, and covered his striking blond hair as well.
The sole indication that he was Naruto Uzumaki, the new Sage of Six Paths, was the unique sword sheathed at his left hip, but as far as he knew no one had ever actually recorded a description of it. It certainly wasn't in the Bingo Book, and not one member of Akatsuki had yet seen it.
Admittedly, not all of the ninja comprising his team hid their identities so well. Hinata and Tenten, in particular, were both wearing the same formfitting barrier armor they always wore, although these too were now colored forest-green. Their faces were also covered, but Hinata's lavender Byakugan eyes were visible as another indication of her identity. Both of them were carrying their respective weapons openly, and these were much more conspicuous than Naruto's saber.
They weren't alone in standing out, however. Kimimaro was wearing a polished white cuirass of bone over his shouzoku, and carrying a one-handed sword of the same material on his back. Sasuke had been reprimanded by Sakura for attempting to wear his heavy black cloak into the jungle, and he left it behind only for Sakura to wear her white leather jacket unzipped over her own shouzoku. All three of them left their faces exposed.
They leapt through the treetops with ease earned through years of practice and experience. The sunlight was already being partially blocked by the branches and leaves above them, so most of the team could only imagine how dark it must be on the forest floor, so far below. Karin happened to glance downward as she thought of this, and she noted that she couldn't see through the foliage to glimpse the forest floor at all, so it was likely pitch-dark down there.
Despite how fast Juugo was moving, the songbird perched on his right shoulder, with mostly orange feathers save for its vibrant green throat and chest, tweeted cheerily in his ear. It shifted its wings and tail slightly to stay balanced, lightly tickling Juugo's neck and shoulder. It was irritating, but at the same time also soothing, and Juugo couldn't help but smile down at the bird. Gently, slowly, he raised his right hand to pet the bird with a single finger. It nuzzled up against his hand and cooed appreciatively.
With her Byakugan active, Hinata caught a glimpse of sunlight glinting on metal up ahead. She focused her vision on it and saw that the kanji for 'Waterfall' was painted on the square sign in bright orange. On the other side of the sign, the kanji for 'Fire' was similarly written. "We're about to reach the Fire-Waterfall border," she announced. "Naruto-kun, did Fuu say where she was going to meet us?"
"No," he replied honestly. "But if I had to guess... Choumei gives her the ability to fly, so she's probably looking for us from above the border."
It's called 'partial transformation,' Kurama explained. Six of Choumei's tails are actually wings, and by manifesting a pair of them, her Jinchuuriki can fly.
Huh. I wonder if I could do that.
Not likely. Remember, you've always had problems accessing my chakra. Then again... your chakra's half-demonic by itself. You may have a tail or two of your own to manifest... but now isn't the time to experiment.
Aw, man... now I really want to try it, Naruto all but whined. In fact, there's so many things I haven't tried to do yet with this chakra... you said I might be able to give chakra cloaks to other people, and I haven't even thought of using the Tailed Beast Ball yet. Now you're telling me I might be able to grow a tail?
Or multiple tails. Kurama paused thoughtfully. Then again, if you do manifest demonic traits, they might not necessarily be tails since you're not a Bijuu. The downside of that is... we really can't predict it. By tapping into your demonic side, you could accidentally turn yourself into some kind of unnatural abomination.
Naruto blanched under his mask.
...But on the other hand, because the demonic nature of your chakra was essentially copied from mine, you'll probably have a fox-like form. It shouldn't be too drastically changed by your human chakra's nature... but getting too deeply into this will confuse you, and it's best that we wait and try this in your inner world. Understand?
...Yeah.
Well, there's one more thing, and it's important. Kurama's voice grew serious. We have no way of knowing whether the transformation will be reversible. He felt Naruto's eyes grow wide. Otousan always had demonic traits whenever I saw him, namely his horns. I believe he got them from the Ten-Tails' chakra that flowed through his body.
So, wait... the Sage of Six Paths was a half-demon, the way I am?
Kurama would've given an affirmative answer, but something else drew his attention. I can sense Choumei, right above us.
"Okay, stop!" Naruto called sharply, and the team following him did so. "Fuu, we're down here!" he shouted.
"Wow, I didn't even see you guys at all!" she called back, darting through the foliage above. She came to a stop and hovered in front of Naruto and Hinata, with her orange and green wings flitting through the air too fast to be properly seen. "It must be that camouflage; it really works well."
"Um, Fuu-san," Hinata spoke up hesitantly. "I can't help but notice that you aren't wearing green... I thought this was the standard uniform for Taki-nin?"
"Well, yeah, when they're on missions in Waterfall at least," she replied. "But I use these wings," she turned slightly to show them off even though they were buzzing so quickly, "as an excuse to wear whatever I want. I'm pretty sure I could manifest them through a normal shirt though, just as an example. Besides, I'm not a ninja."
Seeing everyone's looks of open shock, she elaborated, "I'm a Jinchuuriki. The two jobs are very, very different. Ninjas are supposed to be stealthy sometimes, but Jinchuuriki just... get in, kick ass, get out. No stealth involved. Our job has to play to our strengths, and my strengths specifically are carpet-bombing stuff from above with jutsu and Tailed Beast Balls if I'm in a hurry."
"...Well, I've never heard it put quite like that before," Naruto mused.
"I guess they do it differently in Konoha and Suna," she replied, "Seeing as you two are both Kage. But then again, that makes sense too, since you guys probably have more destructive power than your entire respective villages combined."
"That's true in my case," Gaara admitted readily. "Not so much in his, however," he pointed to Naruto.
"What about me?" Tenten asked quickly. "I'm almost as powerful as you with my swords. If it was me and the rest of Suna competing with you..."
"True, but technically you're still a Konoha-nin working out of Suna, in exchange for Temari taking missions from Konoha." He paused and considered this. "However, I'm sure Naruto and I could easily make the arrangement permanent, if that's what you want."
"Take your time and think about that later," Fuu cut in, drawing all eyes to where she was pointing downward toward the obscured ground. "We're not alone."
"Ah, fuck." A young man in a black and red robe shot upward out of the foliage below, and sighed. He had silver, slicked-back hair and wielded a massive scythe with three red blades. "Son of a bitch, I should've known you'd spot us. Kakuzu! Get the fuck up here!"
"Kakuzu..." Naruto repeated thoughtfully. "So you're Hidan, the immortal, right?"
"That's right, and I've heard of you too." he leveled his scythe at the Hokage. "The Sage of Six Paths would make a pretty fuckin' great sacrifice to Jashin-sama!"
"Hold on, Hidan." an older man in a cloth mask revealed himself and stood next to Hidan. "This is Naruto Uzumaki. The bounties on his head, especially his eyes, are ludicrous."
"You don't need to take him alive to sell off his Rinnegan," Hidan shot back with a growing smirk. "I'm gonna fight him. You can have... hm... the Water Goddess. Apparently they fight pretty fuckin' well as a team, so we should split 'em up to take 'em down."
"Hinata Hyuuga..." Kakuzu scanned over the gathered shinobi in green, spotting Hinata's Byakugan after a moment. "Yes, the bounties on you are quite extensive as well... your Byakugan, your water jutsu, the secrets of your unique Sage Mode... even those ninja tools you use. You're wanted for a lot of reasons."
Naruto drew his sword slowly. "Hina-chan, your thoughts?"
"It shouldn't take more than one of us to eliminate each of them. If these two want to fight us one-on-one, I'm fine with that. The rest of you should keep moving," she addressed the team.
Naruto added, "She has a point. There's no way Akatsuki would only send these two to fight us for Yagura. Isn't that right?" he questioned Hidan, who simply grinned. "You should keep moving to try and outpace them. Get to Yagura before they get to you. We'll catch up, believe it."
"Let's go," Gaara called, and the rest of the team vanished through the canopy.
Hinata kept her eyes trained carefully on Kakuzu, but under her mask she was smirking almost mischievously. "Hina-chan, you just wanted to fight one of them alone, didn't you? You must know we could've attacked them all at once, and they'd be dead by now."
"I'm curious," she replied. "We haven't encountered any Akatsuki since Tanzaku, and we've gotten a lot stronger since then. I want to know how we compare to them. Besides, you're looking forward to fighting one of them yourself, aren't you?"
"You got me," he admitted. "They say this guy's immortal, so there's something I really want to try."
"Go ahead." She crouched down a bit. "I'll see you in a few minutes, Naruto-kun." Then she leapt into the air, sailing over Kakuzu and past him. The bounty hunter followed her readily, leaving Hidan alone with Naruto.

The alarm wasn't overly loud, and was confined to only a few rooms in Konoha, but its message was received quickly enough.
"That's...!" Itachi's deactivated eyes went wide, and he exploded out of his borrowed seat behind the Hokage's desk.
"...So you have a detection barrier," a familiar voice sounded throughout his office, as the space before Itachi spiralled and distorted outward revealing a black void behind the air, out of which a masked man stepped. "I thought so. It's been a long time, Itachi, almost three years."
Itachi's Eternal Mangekyou flared to life, and he openly frowned at Tobi. "You didn't come here alone, otherwise the barrier wouldn't have picked up enemy movement. You could just teleport through it... so who else is here, Tobi? And what do you want?"
Tobi's Sharingan glinted back at him through the single hole in his mask. "We want all of the Tailed Beasts currently affiliated with Konoha... at the moment, that includes the Nine-Tails, One-Tail, and Two-Tails."
Itachi's eyes narrowed, and he contemptuously swept aside a sight-based genjutsu that Tobi fired at him. Technically, he didn't just tell a lie, but... "You know as well as I do that there's only one Jinchuuriki in Konoha right now."
"True. And your assumption that I'm here for another reason is also true, but..." Tobi drifted backward, his form flickering slightly, "I really have no reason to tell you anything, Itachi. Fire Release," he added as his hands began to blur through several seals.
Blood dripped from Itachi's right eye, and he answered, "Blaze Release!"
"Great Fireball Jutsu!"
The Hokage's office exploded in a shower of black and orange flames, and out of it rose an armored red-orange chakra avatar. As an afterthought, Itachi snatched the Hokage's desk out of the air with his Susanoo as it fell, saving the relic from being smashed on the ground far below. The rest of the office, however, was gone.
"Water Bullet Volley," Itachi added, dousing the flames that spread out of Naruto's office and threatened to burn down the Academy. Fortunately, class wasn't in session at the moment, so Itachi was free to direct all of his attention to Tobi, who was standing on the roof of the building unharmed.
"That was a rather impressive trick to use with Amaterasu," the masked man announced. "Your flames literally burned mine... without my own unique Mangekyou Sharingan, those flames would've kept going and burned through me as well. I imagine that's one of Sasuke's Mangekyou jutsu... you were never this skilled with Amaterasu."
Itachi made no reply, instead he simply glared at Tobi's mask and attempted to burn it with Amaterasu. Instead, Tobi phased cleanly through the attack, leaving Itachi's black flames to eat through only the open air behind him.
Itachi composed himself and wiped the blood from his cheek, silently taking a breath. There's no reason for me to rush ahead with more jutsu, not when I know Tobi can dodge them all with his own Mangekyou. He powered down his Susanoo and waited for Tobi to seize the opening, but the older man did nothing. He doesn't seem especially interested in killing me, so I'm confident in my assumption that he isn't here for me. Although he may want my Eternal Mangekyou, I don't believe that's why he's here. And I know that he has at least one accomplice...!
Itachi's eyes widened slightly in realization, just enough for Tobi to notice with his own Sharingan. The masked man widened his own visible eye, and out of the air before him appeared a set of three absurdly massive four-bladed shuriken. Itachi allowed them to strike him and cut him to pieces, pieces which then flew apart into a murder of loudly shrieking crows.
"Hn," Tobi murmured, then glanced around in search of the real Itachi. As he did, however, a kunai flew past his eye from the left. He snatched it from the air and threw it in the direction of the one who had aimed it at him, only for that shadow clone to immediately meet his eyes without flinching as the kunai approached.
"Amaterasu."
Tobi's mask burst into black flames, and he activated Kamui to slip entirely out of the real world and into his own dimension. Safe in the darkness, he cast aside the orange mask and considered whether or not to return immediately. Hn... if I don't take the time to put on another mask, Itachi will see my face... but if I do, he might manage to warn the rest of the village that I didn't come alone. Those who heard the alarm almost certainly believe that I tripped it... and I want to keep it that way.
Tobi emerged from his dimension and glared at Itachi with both of his eyes. "...So that's what you look like under that mask," he murmured. He noted the wrinkled, scarred right side of Tobi's otherwise young-looking face, and the fact that the left was only a normal Sharingan despite the right being an active Mangekyou. The left is a transplant then. But I know that he's an Uchiha, because if he wasn't, if both eyes were transplanted... then he wouldn't be able to deactivate his eyes, and I know he can. "So who are you, really?"
"I'm no one," Tobi replied calmly. "No one at all."
"Hn." I'd like to kill him, but if I can't do that then I'll settle for destroying one or both of his eyes. He may be willing to use Izanagi, if I injure him severely enough. He clearly can't match me with offensive jutsu, but his defense is nearly perfect...
Tobi's eyes flickered slightly wider for a moment, and his face hardened. "Itachi... you already sent a clone with the message that I'm not alone, didn't you?"
Itachi crossed his fingers and silently created a shadow clone, one that was immediately dispelled by Tobi. "...Hn," he muttered with a slightly annoyed tone. Tobi's eyes glinted with hope, which was exactly what Itachi wanted. In truth, he had already sent out a clone, but he had just now attempted to goad Tobi into believing he hadn't thought of it until the formerly masked man suggested it.
This way, he'll be more interested in trying to kill me, instead of retreating and regrouping with whatever allies he has. If he knew I'd already sent out a warning message, he would know he's already lost this battle.
The skeletal arms of his Susanoo formed, shortly followed by its ribcage and the Yata Mirror. Moments after that, the skeleton's right arm drew a liquid blade out of a gourd strapped to its ribcage, whipping its deadly length at Tobi.
Rather than testing his Kamui's ability to evade the legendary Sword of Totsuka's sealing power, Tobi dodged the blade in a more conventional way, leaping into the air over it while clapping his hands together in the Tiger seal. "Great Fire Annihilation!"
Itachi noted the size of the attack with approval, but smoothly moved his shield to intercept it. The Yata Mirror shifted into a Water Release nature, absorbing the flames effortlessly. Itachi cast a mirage-type genjutsu on the air before himself within Susanoo, hiding the small flock of crows he promptly summoned.
Mirage-type genjutsu, unlike normal genjutsu, are illusions cast into the environment rather than the senses of the target. As such, they have two advantages over conventional genjutsu. First, they are seen by everyone in the area rather than just one target, and second, a doujutsu user won't feel them entering his or her chakra network.
Thus, Tobi might've been able to detect a haze of chakra hanging in the air before Itachi, if not for the much more visible Yata Mirror blocking it from his sight. Despite the shield itself being transparent, it coupled with the mirage prevented Tobi from seeing the crow clone being formed by Itachi.
The real Itachi emerged from within his chakra avatar, using a Body Flicker to blur past Tobi. The older man turned, following him with his Sharingan. Itachi engaged him with lightning-fast taijutsu, noting that the blows Tobi delivered were shockingly strong, especially those from his right arm. During the chaos of the fight, their eyes met for a moment, and both unleashed their Mangekyou Sharingan.
Itachi tried to cast Tsukuyomi on Tobi, but he pulsed his chakra with staggering force to counter the jutsu before the genjutsu could fully enter his eyes and chakra network. At the same time, Tobi fired a ten-foot-long kunai from the Kamui dimension, hoping for it to obliterate Itachi's head completely.
Instead, Itachi forced chakra into his legs and frantically retreated backward, using his incomplete understanding of Kimimaro's Pulse Step to save his own life. He knew the mechanics of the jutsu thanks to seeing it with his Sharingan, but it had never been intended for moving backward. He stumbled and skidded further backward, nearly toppling over. He twisted his ankle slightly and fell to one knee, intentionally allowing the massive kunai to fly over his head cleanly.
The crow clone then took control of Susanoo, stabbing Tobi in the back with the Sword of Totsuka. Tobi's eyes widened in shock, and most of his body vanished into his own dimension, leaving a sizable chunk of his chest to be sealed away by the sword.
Within the Kamui dimension, Tobi's left eye went white as he sacrificed it with Izanagi, restoring his torso to its previous, unharmed state. Damn it, he's good... if I had've used a wider selection of my attacks, then perhaps... but I have too many weapons I want to keep secret for now. I'll just have to kill you later, Itachi... and now, you owe me an eye.

Naruto flashed forward, and Hidan barely managed to raise his scythe in time to block the Hokage's sword. When he did, he grinned slightly and slashed horizontally with his scythe, pulling Naruto's saber along with it. Catching the Grinning Fox off-guard, he managed to nick the younger man's arm with one of his scythe's three blades, which he promptly leapt away to lick clean.
His skin turned black with a white skeletal pattern, and his eyes lit up crimson as he grinned. With his right foot, he traced out a rune of some kind in the moss loosely covering the tree limb he stood on. Written on such a poor canvas, it was difficult to read, but it was there. "This... is the sigil of Jashin-sama, Naruto Uzumaki." he grinned gleefully and drew out a kunai after hanging the scythe on his back. "And now the ritual is complete! Let's get started!"
Naruto looked on with eminent shock as Hidan promptly stabbed himself in the right leg. A moment later, the same wound appeared on Naruto's leg, and he bit back a scream. "G-Gah, damn it..." he snarled, clasping a hand over the bleeding wound. Any wound he takes will appear on me too... I'm gonna regret this if it doesn't work, but I have to try.
Naruto switched the sword into his left hand, and without a moment's hesitation he cut off his right. Despite the sudden agony, he smiled in relief when he saw Hidan's kunai-wielding hand drop off as well. "Fuck! Son of a motherfucking bitch fuck fuck!" the missing-nin howled, clutching his stump while Naruto silently grew back his own hand inside an aura of bubbling red chakra. "What, the, fuck!"
"So it goes both ways... that's good..." he passed the sword back into his newly-regrown right hand, then cut off his left.
Hidan screamed in pain and fury, as his left hand fell down through the canopy. Several seconds later, he might've been able to faintly hear a meaty thud as it hit the ground, but instead he continued to scream. "Fuck you!"
Naruto flicked his sword clean. Now what? I can't really do anything more to him unless I want to kill myself as well... unless... 'the ritual is complete...' 'sigil of Jashin...' Maybe I could...
"Banshou Karu!" he called, whipping his sword downward and amputating the tree limb Hidan was standing on. Despite his pain, he had the presence of mind to abandon the falling branch in favor of another. Naruto experimentally nicked his own wrist, and when the same wound failed to appear on Hidan's, he grinned.
"Perfect."
Hidan's eyes went wide as his rapidly-approaching fate became clear to him. "...FU-"
Naruto appeared before him, sliced off his head, snatched it from midair, and produced a scroll. When the silver-haired head continued to scream profanities at him, he scowled and unfurled the scroll. "Don't you ever stop howling?" he questioned, not expecting an answer. He never found out whether Hidan was about to give one, since he promptly stuffed the immortal's head into the storage seal on the scroll.
With that done, he refurled the scroll and stowed it to sheathe his sword and crack his newly-regrown knuckles. "That was easy. I wonder how Hina-chan's doing."

Hinata frowned deeply as she sized up Kakuzu's monstrous form. His Earth Grudge Fear was fully unleashed, revealing that his entire body was made up of stringy brown tentacles, most of which were spread out into eight much larger tendrils that waved hypnotically through the air.
"...Let me get this straight," she began with a very displeased tone. "Your entire body is made of tentacles, and now you're saying you intend to use them to... and I quote... 'steal my heart?'"
Kakuzu blinked.
"I'm really not into this sort of thing. Water Release: Rasenyari." Kakuzu's eyes widened, and he threw himself to the side of the oncoming jutsu. It exploded as it passed him, hurling him forward while Hinata lunged with her palms raised, closing the distance even faster. "Sage Art: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms!"
Kakuzu snarled in anger and pain as each of her strikes slammed into his torso and arms, making his natural human body go limp. Although the damage to his chakra network would also prevent him from any more jutsu, his eight huge tentacles were still mobile. He curled them forward around Hinata, hoping to ensnare her from all sides in a cocoon made of his own body.
She scowled openly, and watched the tentacles approach from all sides, wrapping around behind her to prevent her from retreating backward. This is getting problematic... the explosion of that Rasenyari should've ruptured his organs, probably including his heart...!
Her eyes went wide in realization. Steal... my heart! He meant that literally! Thinking fast, she formed a ball of chakra in her hand and slammed it into Kakuzu's chest. "Rasengan!" Kakuzu roared again and his tentacles shuddered with the impact, but he then closed them around her completely. Damn it!
She drew back her Rasengan, and grimaced as gravity began to pull her down toward a carpet of brown thread-like tendrils. She activated her barrier armor just before her feet touched the unpleasant surface, her frown only deepening as several dozen of the tentacles wrapped around her legs to hold her in place.
In the dim light of her own armor, she saw Kakuzu glaring at her. "You brat... you destroyed two of my hearts now, and you only have one for me to take back as payment..." he grinned behind his mask. "Then again, you're quite valuable even without your heart. I'll make a lot of money today, so it's not so bad."
"Get the hell off me," she growled, tugging against the complex web of brown threads holding her in place. In response, they simply wormed further up over her torso, holding her still even more. The tips of the tendrils arced outward away from her before curving in again, poised to stab her. Kakuzu would likely have tried by now, if not for her Sage Mode and her barrier armor. "I swear to Kami, you demented, creepy old man, I'm going to hurt you for this."
"Don't take it the wrong way," he replied evenly, "I'm not doing this for the reasons you seem to think. It's only because you're too much of a hassle if I let you move... around..." his eyes went wide as she finished forming a second Rasenyari. "...Shit."
"That was your last chance to let me go, and you ignored it. This is going to hurt."
From outside Kakuzu's solid cage of tentacles, it appeared much as though he had spontaneously exploded, scattering huge chunks of his eight main tentacles around the forest floor. In the darkness, Kakuzu himself staggered to his feet with only one heart left, and the side of his head bleeding profusely. His mask, torn and wet with blood on one side, was quickly peeled off and tossed aside. He took a deep breath of the warm air, and searched in all directions for Hinata.
Damn it all... only one heart left and my tenketsu are still deactivated... He curled what was left of his Earth Grudge Fear body into a cocoon, glancing around in the darkness warily. He spun toward the sound of a branch snapping, but saw nothing. He quickly turned again at the sound of rapidly approaching light footsteps, only to see a two-foot-long centipede where he'd expected Hinata to be standing.
He was starting to panic. Damn it! The slightest sounds had him whirling around in growing fear, but again and again he failed to spot even a glimpse of Hinata. Frantic, he ran his hands through his hair and roared, "Stop hiding from me, you bitch!"
"Okay." wide-eyed, he looked up and saw Hinata perched directly above him, on a thick branch. "You seem pretty shaken up... maybe that means you aren't so immortal after all." she hummed thoughtfully, and formed a set of six water clones, three on each side of the real Hinata. "Well, I guess I can't really do anything except keep trying... but if you survive this one, I might have to consider taking you alive."
Hinata and her six clones each formed a Rasengan, and they drew back their right arms to throw the spheres. Kakuzu hesitated for just a moment, staring up at her like a deer caught in headlights, before he made the only sensible decision and ran for his life.
Naturally, Hinata threw her attacks after him and halfheartedly gave chase, but she stopped after only a short distance. "Well, at least I know he's not really immortal... I wonder how Naruto-kun is doing..."

Tobi emerged from his own personal dimension atop the walls of Konoha, frowning. Kabuto took a look at his face for the first time, then smirked. "It looks like it didn't go well. You didn't kill Itachi, did you, Tobi?"
"Hn." Tobi turned his Mangekyou Sharingan on Kabuto, who glanced away without wiping away his smirk. He was unsure of his ability to resist Sharingan genjutsu, and decided now wasn't the time to test his Byakugan against Tobi's Sharingan. "My primary goal wasn't to kill Itachi, it was to keep him from warning the rest of the village of your presence for as long as possible. Itachi is the only Konoha-nin who knows that my Kamui didn't trigger the detection barrier, because I never touched it. So, Kabuto, tell me. Did you make good use of the time I bought you?"
Kabuto's grin simply broadened. "Of course I wouldn't waste such an oppurtunity. I sent three of my favorite Edo Tensei into the village, wearing Konoha uniforms and hooded cloaks. They should pass unnoticed for a while yet, but the three of us," he nodded to a silent Orochimaru, "Will likely be attacked soon."
"I see. Well then, let's get ready." Tobi held out his right hand loosely, and a spiralling black vortex appeared over his palm before spitting out an orange mask a moment later. He raised the mask to his face and nearly put it on before a ninja in an ordinary blue uniform and green vest appeared far to his right, just visible at the edge of his remaining eye's vision.
"Obito!?"
