they once again stare each other down as if they are about to battle while ash looks on helplessly.
"oh man, how in the world should I be handling this?" ash says to himself
"uh hey you two, I'm not sure what this is about but you both are grand festival champions. that means that both of you are great pokemon coordinators in your own right" he says to them
the two girls then turn to ash again. he wonders what they will say next.
"ash!" they both say
"huh? yeah?" says ash
the girls start to think for a few seconds looking at ash before speaking.
"which of us do you think is the cutest?" they both say at the same time
"wha? who's the cutest?" he says
"yeah, who in your opinion is cuter ash. is it me?" says may slightly posing
"or is it me?" says dawn doing her own pose as well
"well uh... um... I uh..." says ash
"well?" they both say
"I... can't decide..." he says
"huh? what do you mean you can't decide?!" says may
"wait, are you trying to say that neither one of us is cute ash?! huh?!" says dawn
"no no it's not that. it's.. um... both of you are equally cute.. I can't really.. pick one over the other.." says ash scratching his head
"wha? come on!" says dawn
dawn and may then face each other once again.
"very well then, we'll let our pokemon help you decide who's more ravishing" says dawn
"heh good idea dawn. lets go, delcatty!" says may
may throws a pokeball and out comes delcatty. ash looks on.
"delcatty? ah, her skitty must've evolved" he says
"ok lopunny, come on out!" says dawn
lopunny comes out of dawn's pokeball.
"ah a lopunny, the evolved form of buneary. so it evolved too, nice" says ash
"ok delcatty, show ash some charming and graceful moves" says may
delcatty meows and nods.
"you too lopunny. show him how we won so many contests" says dawn
lopunny nods.
from there the two command their pokemon to show off contest moves in an open space to try to impress ash. they do so for about a minute not realizing that their pokemon and moves are attracting an audience. people who are walking by and watching tnem begin to recognize who they are.
"hey look, it's may from hoenn and dawn from sinnoh"
"whoa really? that's them?"
"those two are world famous coordinators"
"hey I want an autograph!"
"me too!"
before they know it the two are suddenly surrounded by a swarm of tourists and adoring fans interrupting their pokemons display.
"wow it's really dawn!"
"can I have your autograph?"
"I love you, may!"
may and dawn look around shocked by the sudden appearance of the flock of fans.
"wha? where did all these people come from?" says dawn
"they must be visitors of pallet town who saw our pokemon display" says may
"how do we get out of this?" says dawn
"I dunno. waaaa!" says may
ash looks on from a safe distance, also surprised by the emerging crowd.
"wow, guess those two are pretty popular as well haha. well I better leave them be, gotta get something to eat" says ash walking away
meanwhile in another part of town serena is seen walking down the pathways where some event stands are set up looking for ash.
"it's been way too long. I know he said he had to give a speech but it couldn't have taken this long. ash! where are you?" says serena
she eventually reaches town square where the speech was, but ash was nowhere to be found.
"he's not here. he must've did the speech already, but where is he now? probably goofing off somewhere" she says to herself
she continues walking looking around and shouting his name.
"ash! ash! where are you ash?!"
"um excuse me, are you looking for ash?" a voice says
serena turns and sees misty standing there facing her.
"oh yes, yes I am. have you seen him around?" says serena
"well yeah, me and him were talking a little while ago over there but then he took off. I'm not sure where he is now" says misty
"oh I see... oh, do you know ash?" says serena
"oh well yes, we're old friends" says misty
"old friends? hm... uh might I ask your name?" says serena
"oh yeah, I'm misty" she says
"misty?..." says serena
"wait, that's one of the names brock mentioned earlier. so she must've been one of ash former traveling companions" she thinks to herself
"oh ok misty, my name's serena by the way" she says
"ah ok serena" says misty nodding
"hmm... if you don't mind me asking misty, what is your relationship to ash?" asks serena
"huh? my relationship? well... we're just friends, like I said" says misty
"just friends, hmm and is that all?" says serena
"well yeah, and what do you mean "is that all?" says misty
"I mean, you don't have any secret strong feelings for him do you? or any romantic encounters with him?" says serena
"... even if I did, why does that concern you?" says misty
"it concerns me because I'm ash's new girl" says serena
misty's eyes widen a bit hearing this, but she then continues.
"well if you are indeed ash's girl then I would think you would be more sure of yourself and not worry about his other friendships. also if you're ash's girl then how could you lose him? you really should keep a closer eye on him"
"...what did you say?" says serena
the two then spitefully stare at each other for a few seconds. then serena sighs lowering her head.
"excuse me, I have to search for ash now..." she says
she then walks away as misty watches her. elsewhere ash continues walking around now with a hot dog in his hand.
"yum, finally some food!" he says
he quickly eats the hot dog and drinks from a fountain cup then throws his trash away.
"hmm ok, time to check out some games" he says
suddenly he hears something approaching, a noise that slowly gets louder.
"huh?" he says looking around
then he sees something approach from the sky. a pokemon quickly flies over him in the air. he looks and sees the pokemon flying back above him.
"huh? thats... a dragonite?" he says
the dragonite flies above then hovers over him. then someone on the dragonite pets it and says "right here is good"
"huh? is someone up there?" says ash
then suddenly the girl revealed to be iris jumps off the dragonite and falls to the ground
"look out below!"
