misty, who is walking a few feet behind them, slightly overhears their conversation pretending she isn't listening.
"hmph... whatever" she says quietly
walking a few feet behind misty, ash, brock and cilan talk amongst themselves.
"hey ash, they're talking about you again up there. way to go champ, you're so awesome. just like me of course, the brockster" says brock leaning toward ash
"you could be a true connoisseur of women ash, with my assistance of course" says cilan
"shut it you idiots" says ash balling his fist
at the rear of the group iris, lucy and burgundy are walking close together.
"what are those dopes whispering about?" says burgundy with her hands behind her head
"dunno, probably guy stuff" says lucy
"huh, morons" says burgundy
lucy chuckles a bit as iris walks near burgundy.
"so burgundy just how far are you in your relationship with cilan? have you kissed? or even..." says iris
burgundy looks at iris blushing and gets flustered.
"agh! t-t-that's none of your business!" says burgundy
"hee hee hee, come on. don't be shy now" says iris teasingly
"shut up, you!" says burgundy still embarrassed
as the group approaches the center of town where most of the attractions and stands are placed the path they are on gets more and more crowded with people.
"wow, look at all the people here. just yesterday this area had hardly anyone" says misty
"yeah, I imagine they've come from nearby towns. really from all over kanto. this is kinda a big occasion" says brock
after a while the group stops in an area where stands and flyers line the path. they look around taking in the scenery.
"wow what a gathering. the sights and sounds, the hustle and bustle, it reminds me of striaton city my home. only this crowd has a more positive energy, yes this is a festival! perfect!" says cilan
"hm? what do you mean cilan?" says ash
"you see ash, not only am I a top class pokemon connoisseur but among others things I am a big time festival connoisseur as well" says cilan smiling
"oh no, here we go again" says iris looking toward cilan
"so now, since I haven't said this in a long, long time, I think it's only fitting to say that... iiiiiit's evaluation time!" says cilan with a big smile
"ahem, no it's get me something to eat time" says burgundy
she then grabs his hand and pulls him down the path with her.
"I see a ice cream stand over there, you're getting me some. c'mon" says burgundy still pulling
"ahh, wait a minute burgundy. I didn't finish evaluation time" says cilan
the others look on as cilan and burgundy walk together down the path.
"haha what a pair" says brock
"geez, those two were made for each other" says iris
"uh anyway I guess we can all split up and see the attractions. we should all meet up at town square when we're done, sound good?" says brock
"yeah that works just fine" says ash as everyone nods
"cool heh, now let's-... huh? no way" says brock
he looks in the distance as something catches his eye. then he quickly walks around some people getting closer to the thing of interest. he soon stops near a counter that nurse joy and officer jenny are standing behind.
"ahh it is them, nurse joy and officer jenny~" brock says in bliss
he then approaches the counter.
"ahem, hello there. a fine day to you fine ladies" says brock
"oh, hello and welcome" says nurse joy
"oh you seem familiar. if I may ask might you be the nurse joy and officer jenny from pewder city?" says brock
"ah well yes we are" says officer jenny
"yes, I knew it! uh anyway I just so happen to lead the pewder city gym, so since we're all from the same city and all I was thinking perhaps maybe we could all get together sometime and-"
"brock..."
brock flinches recognizing the voice. he slowly looks behind him and sees lucy standing there giving him a cold stare.
"ah! lucy! lucy babe, i-it's not what you think! I was just coming over to greet them and-"
before he finished lucy whacked him on the head with a baseball bat nearly knocking him out leaving a knot on his head. lucy grabs him by the shirt collar and drags him away through the crowd.
"geez, he never learns does he?" says misty
"really, brock?" says dawn
"even with a gf he can't help himself I guess haha" says may

"so ash, where did you wanna go first?" says serena standing next to him smiling

he starts smelling the air catching a whiff of something.
"hey you smell that, pikachu?"he says
