"yeah, I smell something real good. it's making me hungry again. let's go check it out pikachu, the smell's coming from this way" says ash pointing in a direction
ash and pikachu then take off down the path as ash waves back at the others.
"I'll meet up with you later, serena!" he yells as he runs
"wha?! ash, wait! I don't want us to get... separated again..." says serena watching ash run in the distance then sighs
"oh, that boy and food. everything I say goes in one ear and comes out the other when it comes to his stomach" she says pouting
the others chuckle a bit seeing ash run off quickly.
"haha that's ash for you" says may
"well can't be helped. since the guys took off I guess we should check out the festival too. I wanna see what other fun attractions they have" says iris walking calmly up the pathway with hands behind her head
"oooh I wanna take a look around here. I see some games where you can win prizes. also I should get some souvenirs" says dawn
"me too, I wanna see the arcade games. hey misty, you wanna go with us?" says may
"huh? oh heh yeah sure" says misty
misty, may and dawn then all walk off on a path that splits to the right leaving serena who is standing in the middle of the path thinking to herself.
"oh well, I might as well enjoy myself too. while I'm at it I'll see if I can find something nice for ash" says serena smiling to herself
meanwhile in another part of town on a pathway equally as crowded clemont and bonnie continue to walk seemingly going around in circles.
"hah..hah... seems like we've been walking for hours now and we're still on the festival grounds. I'm getting tired. clemont!.." says bonnie stopping and looking back
clemont slowly walks up to bonnie panting and clearly exhausted from the walking.
"yeah bonnie... I'm tired too... but I don't think ash's house is around here.." says clemont catching his breath
"agh, we've been going in circles on this festival route all day! why didn't you get a map of the town, brother?!" says bonnie
"well I do have a map..." says clemont
he digs in his pocket and pulls out a map folded up. he then unfolds it and shows it to bonnie.
"but it's a map of the kanto region not a map of pallet town" he says
"ugh, you dummy!" says bonnie
"well let's take a break for a while, I think we should grab something to drink too" says clemont
"oh, ok" says bonnie
a minute later the two are sitting down on a bench drinking cans of soda.
"ahhh good soda, that hit the spot" says bonnie
"yes, quite refreshing. I feel a bit less tired now" says clemont
after throwing the empty soda can in the trash clemont stands up and stretches.
"ok time to get going. we need to catch ash while we can" says clemont
"but we still don't know where his place is, and my feet are starting to hurt from all the walking" says bonnie rubbing the top of her foot
"hehehe, not to worry bonnie. I predicted something like this might happen so I came prepared" says clemont grinning
"huh?" says bonnie curious
a few seconds later clemont pulls out what appears to be a pair of blue rollerskates and holds them up.
"the future is now, thanks to science! behold my latest invention, the super power automated jet rollerblades!" he says enthused
"again with the long names? they look like just rollerblades to me" says bonnie
"oh they're not just any old skates. I modified these rollerblades with a rocket booster system installed so there's no need to push forward to accelerate allowing us to cover a lot of ground in a short time. this should take care of our walking problem" says clemont
"you sure it's not another one of your faulty inventions?" says bonnie standing up
"what?! my inventions aren't faulty! you'll see!" says clemont
he then puts on the rollerblades and steps over to near the middle of the path they are on clear of any people. after strapping on the rollerblades he straps a helmet onto his head and faces northward.
"ok all set. all I gotta do is press a button and the blades will accelerate" he says pulling out a tiny remote control
"now bonnie, hop on my back"
"er, ok" says bonnie reluctantly
she walks up and gets on clemont's back holding on to him.
"alright hold on tight bonnie. clemonte gear, on!" he says as he presses a button on the tiny remote
a small gear is heard revving up for a few seconds then it suddenly stops. a brief pause while clemont and bonnie wait.
"um, why's it not doing anything?" says bonnie
"hm, maybe I used the wrong gears?" says clemont
soon after he says that the booster powers on and the two race down the pathway at a high speed. bonnie shrieks slightly clinging onto clemont as he struggles to control their direction just barely avoiding running into any people on the path.
"aaaah! clemont we're going too fast!"yells bonnie
"I know! I must've put in too much rocket fuel! just hold on!" says clemont
the two continue to accelerate not able to slow down.
