"here brock, this is for you. a focus sash" says lucy blushing a little
"lucy that was amazing. wow, a focus sash? for me?" says brock
"mm-hmm. I think... it would look good on you, and also if you like your pokemon could use it in battle. it's a handy item" says lucy
"wow, thanks lucy. you're the best girl a guy could ever ask for heh. I'll use this sash well" says brock taking the sash from lucy
"oh brock... you're the best too" says lucy
the two lock eyes totally focused on each other completely oblivious to their surroundings. they get right next to one another still blushing and gently kiss. brock places his hands on lucy's hips keeping her close as they keep kissing. as they do misty, who is walking through the area, happens to glance over and see the two of them hugged up and kissing. she stops and chuckles to herself watching the display.
"heh wow, there goes brock again. he hasn't changed much in all these years but at least he finally found a girl he likes who likes him back. they're real cute together" she says to herself giggling
after a while misty starts to walk down the path once again thinking to herself while moving around people in crowds. she thinks about hopefully someday getting to be close to someone and doing fun things with them as she saw brock and lucy doing. she then starts to think about ash, about all the good times they had when they traveled together and about how ash has grown since they last met. as she smiles to herself blushing a little thinking about it a tall and handsome man approaches her.
"um, excuse me? misty?" says the man
misty stops and turns to look at the man calling out to her. he walks up to her soon after.
"ah it is you misty, long time no see huh?" he says with a familiar voice and smile
"huh? wait, have we met?" says misty trying to remember who the man is
"oh.. you don't remember me? think back, we met in the orange islands. ring a bell?" he says
hearing that misty quickly remembers him.
"ah! you're danny, right?" she says
"yup, bingo!" says danny
"oh wow, it's been years since I saw you. how have you been?" says misty
"oh just great, busy with the gym and all but I'm taking time off now. you're looking lovely as usual, how've you been doing?" says danny
"oh thank you danny and I've been great as well. so, what brings you here to pallet town?" says misty
"well I was in the area and heard there was some kinda event here so I came to check it out. actually I was hoping I'd run into you on my travels misty" says danny
"huh? you were?" says misty curiously
"yes, you see there's something I've been meaning to ask you. I forgot to when you last were on navel island" says danny
"hmm?" says misty
"see the thing is... I think you're quite cute. I've gotten very fond of you, even more so since we've been apart. truthfully you're the hottest girl I've ever seen and in all these years I see you've gotten even more beautiful. I could barely contain my excitement when I spotted you in the crowd, my heart skipped a beat. so my question is... would you.. like to go out with me sometime? you know, like, on a date?" he says smiling
"ehh? you... want to go out with me?" says misty looking stunned
"yeah I do. I realize that's kind of sudden but I would really like to take you out. anytime and anywhere you like, my treat. I'll treat you the way a beautiful flower such as you deserves to be treated. so.. what do you say mist?" says danny
a pause as misty thinks for a moment then slightly inhales and exhales.
"wow dan.. I had no idea you felt that way about me... you know, you're a great man and I appriciate the offer... but I must decline" says misty
"ehh?" says danny
"it's not that I don't understand your feelings, it's just I can't return them... because.. my heart is set on another.." says misty
"oh... I see.. I didn't know.." says danny looking disappointed
"I'm sorry, um but I'm sure you'll find someone better than me in no time. now if you'll excuse me I must be going" says misty bowing then slowly walking away
as she walks into the distance danny stands there watching and waves.
"misty, I'm not giving up that easy" he says to himself
misty continues going on the pathway facing forward not looking back with her fist pressed against her chest.
"that was harder than I thought. but... I had to do it... I only have feelings for you.. ash" she thinks to herself
elsewhere a little bit north of the festival grounds clemont and bonnie quickly approach still riding clemont's automated rollerblades.
"ok bonnie we're just about there. keep an eye out for ash, hopefully he's around here" says clemont
"ahh, but how are we gonna see him out of all these people clemont?" says bonnie
"just keep looking, we'll know him when we see him"
