"zoey?" says dawn
"hey, why didn't you wait up for me paul?" says zoey
"ehh.. I thought you were right behind me. I said I was going to get a soda" says paul
"well you could've at least waited till I finished getting the coins from the pinball machine! what if we had gotten separated?!" says zoey
"oh... I would've found you eventually..." says paul
"argggh!" says zoey rubbing her hair a bit aggravated
then zoey looked over and saw dawn who was quietly observing her and paul.
"oh, hey again dawn. what's up?" says zoey
"hey zoey, um, didn't think you were still here" says dawn
"oh yeah, I just had to hang around and enjoy the festival. I love this kind of stuff, especially arcade games and games where you can win prizes heh" says zoey
"oh I see... uhhh..." says dawn looking back and forth at zoey and paul
"huh? something wrong, dawn?" says zoey
"well it's.. uhh... I wanted to ask. are you and paul... like, at the festival together?" says dawn
"oh, yeah we are actually. I brought him along with me to look at some of the games, though it took forever to actually convince him to come along with me haha. actually we traveled here to kanto together" says zoey
"what? really? you did?" says dawn
"yup, sure did" says zoey smiling
"wow, so you two are traveling companions now?" says dawn
"well yes... but it's a bit more than just that.." says zoey
"huh?" says dawn slightly tilting her head
"well dawn.. do you remember when I said I was seeing someone earlier?" says zoey slightly blushing
"y-yeah" says dawn puzzled
"well I said I'd tell you who I was dating eventually, so I'll do it now" says zoey
zoey then walks closer to paul and holds his left arm.
"actually dawn, it's paul here. you see, the two of us... are a couple now" says zoey still blushing while paul glances at her
"... WHAAAAA?! NO WAAAAY!" says dawn with a look of total shock
"yeah, we're dating now. we have been for the past year or so really. you'd never guess it but we have quite a chemistry together, right paulie?" says zoey looking up at paul
"err.. yeah, sure.." says paul looking away
"hehe you're cute when you act shy" says zoey smiling
"I do not" says paul
zoey giggles then looks at dawn who's still stunned.
"oh, well dawn we better get going. the festival's starting to pick up and me and paul are going to look around at the attractions some more. let's go paulie, see you later dawn" says zoey waving at dawn
"yeah yeah ok" says paul
zoey and paul then turn and start to walk away as a stunned dawn watches. after a few steps though zoey stops and walks back near dawn.
"oh by the way dawn, I have a bf now so you should get yourself one too. maybe that ash guy you always traveled with before. I know you had a thing for him" whispered zoey with a grin
"ack!" says dawn blushing
"haha, ok we're off. hope to see you later dawn!" says zoey waving back while walking next to paul
paul and zoey then walk together up one of the pathways and eventually fade in the distance while dawn remained in the same spot still taken aback by zoey's sudden reveal.
"w-what just happened?... I never in a million years thought that... zoey and paul... in a relationship?... oh wow" dawn says to herself
as dawn wallowed in her disbelief elsewhere in the east side of the festival grounds ash is calmly walking down a festive pathway.
"wow, look at all these stands. there's a whole lot for us to do, huh pikachu?" says ash
"pika pii!" says pikachu walking alongside him
while walking ash soon spots a stand that peaks his interest and stops to point at it.
"hey look, that over there seems like fun" says ash
he and pikachu walk over quickly to a game stand that appears like a whack-a-mole game, only it's called whack-a-diglett. ash looks at the setup, 2 padded whacking sticks, 2 slots where coins are inserted, and about 7-8 holes on the top layer of the stand.
"hehe this looks pretty fun. think I'll try a round" says ash
he digs in his pocket pulling out several coins and puts one in the left slot. then he grabs one of the whack sticks and waits. soon a toy diglett pops up from one of the holes. ash sees and quickly whacks it with the stick causing a score to appear on a small, rectangular black screen in front of ash at the back of the whack-a-diglett board. for the next half a minute ash continues whacking digletts as the pace of them coming in and out of the holes quickens. the game eventually ends when "game over" shows on the screen and the game turns off. ash puts the stick down and stretches his arm and shoulder.
"ahh that was kinda fun heh, eh pikachu?" says ash
"pii-ka!"
"my hand kinda got tired from it but it was still fun. I think I'll play again" says ash
he reaches for another coin but..
