he continues to dig through the pockets in his pants hoping to find more game coins while pikachu looked on.
"come on, come on!.." he said a bit frantic
finally he goes in his back pocket and pulls out 2 coins buried deep in the pocket.
"ah, here are some. but wait, I only have 2 left? damn it all..." says ash
"hey, ash!" says a voice
"huh?" says ash hearing his name called
he turns around and quickly spots iris a couple feet away in the middle of the pathway waving at him.
"ah, iris!" says ash
iris quickly runs over to where ash is and stands in front of him smiling.
"ah I thought that was you ash. I figured you would be around here somewhere hee hee" says iris
"heh yeah, just lounging around and seeing what all the festival has. say, were you looking for me iris?" says
"huh? oh.. er, uh.. n-no not in particular. I was just in the area looking around and such is all haha" iris says a bit nervous
"so what you doing here?" she says glancing at the whack-a-diglett
"oh, just playing this whack-a-diglett game. it's real fun heh, I wanted to play some more but... I only have 2 game coins left.. only enough for 1 more round. sucks but I'll probably have to get more" says ash
"oh, no need for that" says iris
"huh?" says ash
iris goes in her pockets and pulls out a handful of coins in both hands showing them to ash.
"take a look, I just won all these coins at a slot machine. awesome, right?" says iris
"whoa, you really won all those coins iris?" says ash
"yup sure did. so you can use these coins to play that game there, as many times as you like" says iris
"what? iris are you sure? I mean those coins you won, you don't have to use them for me" says ash
"oh no no it's fine ash, really. I won't need them all. was gonna get a prize but there's nothing here I really want so wasn't gonna use them anyway. so I don't mind if someone else uses them, a-as long as it's you heh. besides I think I want to try that whack-a-diglett game too" says iris smiling
"oh yeah?" says ash
"yeah, seems like fun" says iris
"ok great, let's play" says ash
"yeah! and don't be too mad when my score blows yours away" says iris
"we'll see about that! let's do this!" says ash
the two begin to play the whack-a-diglett game, taking turns playing the game as the 2 player mode is turn based and inserting 2 coins with every try. ash and iris play for about 15 minutes with ash winning some rounds and iris winning some rounds. after her last try the game screen soon shows game over on iris.
"haha I win again!" says ash
"awww, and I was so close too.." says iris
"ha oh well. our scores were pretty close weren't they?" says ash looking at the screen showing ash's score being a few points higher than iris's
"yeah it was. oh no biggie haha" says iris
"ok I think we've played this enough. let's check out some other stands" says ash
"right!" says iris nodding
"pikachu let's go" says ash
"pika pikachuu!"
ash and iris along with pikachu start to walk up the pathway going past several slightly busy spots.
"so if I remember correctly I won 9 rounds and you won 8 rounds" says ash
"yeah, I think that's the amount of rounds we played" says iris
"looks like I beat you by 1 round hehe" says ash
"tch, you don't have to brag about it" says iris
the group continues to walk for a bit. after a few turns on the path iris taps ash's shoulder to stop him.
"hey ash, look. look over there" says iris pointing
"huh? what is it?" says ash looking in the direction iris is pointing
he sees a slot machine placed on the side of the path nearby some other stands. iris continues to point at it.
"see there? that's the slot machine I was talking about earlier, where I got all those coins before" says iris
"oh, so that's the one huh?" says ash
they walk over to the slot machine and stand in front of it as no one else is using it apparently.
"hey ash, I know, why don't you try the slot machine this time?" says iris looking at him
"huh? me?" says ash
"yeah why not? who knows, you could get lucky and score some coins like I did" says iris
"hmm yeah you're right, that could happen... ok, I'll do it!" says ash
"yay, awesome!" says iris
ash looks closely examining the slot machine.
"hmmm so you need 3 coins to play.. ok" he says
ash pulls out 3 coins and puts them in the coin slot then looks at the lever on the left side of the slot machine and pulls it down. after that the 3 reels in the middle of the slot machine start spinning.
"wow, here it goes" says ash
"it's harder than it looks, you gotta line the symbols up in exact order. I think for any symbol you line up 3 in a row you get 10 coins, for 3 poke balls you get 50 and 3 meowth charms you get 100 which is what I got. but... if you line up 3 7s you get 500 coins" says iris
"whoa, seriously?" says ash
"uh-huh" says iris
for the next couple seconds ash and iris watched the reels spin, then eventually...
