Chapter Three

Rego was being held, 10 guards all pointing their swords at him in a hole in the ground.

"Take. Off. The mask." One said. Rego said nothing, but shifted his hands, the gauntlets hissing, and sliding off.

"Feel better now?" He asked the man. The man grunted, picking them up, and shoving them in his robes.

"Into the hole he goes." They drug him to a hole in the ground, with two chains anchored to the ground. They attached his cuffs to the chains, and threw him in the hole, his body jerking at the end as he hung from his hands, in what seemed to be a bottomless pit. He grunted, and looked up, as they covered the hole, leaving him in total darkness. He calmed his eyes, and went to sleep, going into meditation. His mind calmed after hours, and he woke up, looking around. He went to work immediately, twisting around, and gripping the chains as he climbed up them, holding himself against the ceiling. Hours went by, and he kept the position the whole time, his face calm as he breathed slowly, meditating.

"Rego, vengeance is very important to the ancient Shiekah, but they only did it in extreme cases. You have to be able to protect your family, and if you fail, according to the ancient laws, you must kill who harms them. But I don't agree with this." Impa said to the 16 year old Rego, who was holding his body in a 90 degree position from a pole, concentrating hard.

"But if the laws say-" He began.

"The laws are sometimes wrong. And without a large amount of us Shiekah left, we can't bend the rules to more modern times." She said. "Stop, you've had enough." He leaped off, perfectly landing on his feet.

"But if someone were to hurt you, the last Sheikah, what then?" He said. Impa smiled.

"Give 'em hell."

Rego's eyes opened, the door above him sliding off. He took action without missing a beat, flipping himself up, and out of the hole, yanking hard on the chains, snapping the poles that secured them out of the ground. He could count 6 men, all armed with swords. He swung the chain around, knocking them all down, as he ran to the man with his gauntlets, taking them from his cloak, and cutting the cuffs off. He ran out, to see an intricate working of tunnels, and he, for a moment, had no idea what to do. He closed his eyes, and listened, the sounds of people talking being focused, using magic to find his man. He picked his voice up, and ran through the tunnels, all strangely empty and open, until he found him, standing in an opening, working with 2 other men on a weapon. He slammed into him from behind with both feet, his hands going across the faces of the other two. He slammed his fist into the man's collarbone, snapping it as he screamed. He covered his mouth, and growled.

Zelda walked down the stairs quietly, a lantern in her hand. Cadus sat in his cell, chained up and stripped of his attire, left in a cloth. His hair was messy and dirty, and covered his shoulders. She cleared her throat, her shoes tapping against the floor as she neared his cell.

"Cadus." She said in a voice barely above a whisper. Cadus shifted, a laugh escaping him.

"Hello sister." He said in a course voice. "Coming to visit so soon?" He said with a smile. Zelda breathed in slowly.

"Cadus, Link asked you something before he left. You're going to tell me the truth, please." She said, still whispering. He laughed again.

"You know, I don't remember the butlers' cleaning being this bad..." He said, kicking his foot in the dirt and grime on the floor. "But then again, I hear another prince took my room, so I...don't REALLY have room to complain. But I will admit, the food is..." He said, picking up a piece of old bread, biting it and letting it fall out of his mouth. "-supreme as always." Zelda cleared her throat, a bit louder this time.

"Cadus, don't play with me. Did you set off that bomb or not?" She said, moving close to the bars. He smiled wildly, chuckling.

"Sweet...sweet little Zelda. You certainly don't posses the Triforce your...em...husband does, that's for sure. And for someone who has been gifted with oh so much wisdom, you should know..." He said, standing up and walking as close to the bars as he could. "That I won't tell you a thing." Zelda shivered.

"I am the Queen, and you are in my kingdom, Cadus. You are not a prince here, and you will not ever be. I can with but a snap of my fingers have you beheaded. I'm asking you nicely, were you apart of the bombing? Next time, I won't be so nice." Cadus erupted into laughter, pulling on his chains as he cackled a long, high pitched laugh.

"Do you take me for a fool? Haahaha! You, Zelda, who couldn't eat meat as a young girl because she was afraid of hurting it's feelings, are going to kill me? Haaaaaahahaha!" He said, laughing uncontrollably. "You...you don't have the nerve, Zelly. Try me." He said, a wicked smile on his face. Zelda scowled, turning her heel and walking away quickly. Cadus laughed again. "Running, as always! What a great patriarch!"

"TELL ME!" Rego screamed at the man, pinning him down. The man tried to get free, but Rego slammed his fist into the man's face, who screamed. "I will kill you without thought. Tell. ME!" Rego said again. The man chuckled.

"Death to Hyrule, Shiekah pig." He spit in Rego's face. Rego's eyes went wild, and he snapped. His instincts kicked in, and he moved in a flash, the only sound being his claws cutting through the wind, and flesh. The man's eyes widened, as blood gurgled from his neck quickly. He choked on it, and Rego leaped off of him, his claws pulling out of the man's neck, as he gasped, horrified at what he did. The man flailed wildly, his body uncontrollably moving before going still, a puddle of blood around his head. Rego breathed heavily, blood dripping from his gloved hands. He looked at them, and gasped.

"What...have I done?" He stumbled back, tripping over the unconcious body of another man, falling on the ground. He looked all around him, seeing a map on the table, with the words "DEATH MOUNTAIN", before tossing down a bomb of smoke, disappearing from the woods.
