Epilogue
Hyrule was in shock.
Completely unaware of the terrorist situation in the castle, the people of Castle Town were in utter shock when word broke of Link and Zelda's bodies being found inside the castle. None of the guards remembered what had happened, and the entire country was left in chaos and disarray, with Rego and the previously imprisoned Cadus nowhere to be found. The High Council of Hyrule attempted to gain a foothold, and keep order in the kingdom, but without their leaders, Hyrule quietly fell into ruin over the course of many years.
Cadus, now dubbed Caesus, had retreated to a private location, in order to focus on keeping the will of Rego at bay, who, due to his great willpower, was constantly resisting the mental block Cadus attempted to hold him with. His conscious remained inside Caesus, splitting him into two personalities, Cadus, and Rego, with Cadus mostly in control. Within their mind, they were two separate beings, fighting each other and speaking to each other as if physical.
Caesus had restrained himself, suspended in the air with his arms being held by chains. He struggled to contain his separate personalities, both fighting for control over the body. Within his mind, they fought, physically and mentally, as if real.
"You made me kill my own father!" Rego screamed at Cadus, raising his sword to strike against his uncle. Cadus blocked the strike, sweat dripping from his brow as he struggled to maintain control. He smiled slightly, breathing heavily.
"You surprise me, Rego. I didn't...expect you to have this kind of resolve. You're proving to be quite the problem..." He spun his sword, striking at Rego, who was focused, and precise, blocking each one of the strikes.
"You won't get away with this. You can't control the Triforce like I can. If I gain even a moment of control, I'll destroy everything you've built." Rego responded calmly, blocking the strikes expertly. Cadus stumbled, Rego gaining an advantage, slashing his sword across Cadus, who fell back in agony. Rego took control of Caesus, his body grunting in agony as Rego spoke through him, uttering a spell quickly, his hand glowing brightly. Within their mind, Cadus, attempted to fight back, but Rego stood, focused, as he used Caesus's body as his vessal.
"I'm sending us to the Dark World." He said calmly.
Page Break
For nearly 100 hundred years, Caesus remained in the dark world, his body deteriorating into shadow, and Rego's consciousness slipping into near nothingness, leaving Cadus in sole control of the Triforce, only to have it taken from him by an outsider, by a Gerudo named Ganondorf, who was exiled to the Dark World, and took advantage of Caesus's weakened form. Cadus plotted for almost 200 years after that, slowly regaining his strength, so that he could once again terrorize Link, who was reincarnated as a 17 year old boy in the small village of Ordon, in the rebuilt Hyrule. After he gained enough strength, he brought himself back into the world, and plotted to torture Link, turning his best friend against him, again bringing ruin to Hyrule Castle, and murdering his village. But soon after, Rego's personality began to break through, leaving the God that is the split personality of Caesus, to be defeated, finally, once and for all...
Hey guys! This was originally going to be in the last chapter, just worded differently, but I decided to cut it, and write it here. It may be a bit confusing, but it's meant to show the duel sides of Caesus, Rego's personality, and Cadus's. I hope you guys have enjoyed it!
Stay tuned for the final entry into the Civil War Saga, coming soon!
