.
Finland had been flying on the ground of the dark forest for about 30 minutes or so.
He felt himself slightly happy as he decided to break his silence.
"Finland 2...your dreams finally came true. Now you don't have to have any worries anymore. You can just focus on your world as I will focus on this world. Our dreams came back when I saved America from dying. And though I should be settled down now for finishing such a big chunk of what we wanted to achieve... these knots in my stomach won't stop from contorting. Although we made a dream come true...I still have so many worries. And although you can't hear me now...I find solace in talking to you. Wherever you really are."
Finland looked upwards as he glided straight on by the trees. Patches of the moon lit sky were seen through the branches.
The toenail shape of the moon was doing a good job, in casting some light amongst the thickness of the sway branches. The slight dance of the shadows on the ground put Finland unease but for the most part, he was able to contain his fears in check. The darkness was still very prominent so it was beginning to touch on Finland's nerves.
Finland had passed through so many dark things that he was relieved he was a ghost in this moment. He couldn't dare think how he'd travel through this maze if he had been physically navigating through them. Especially now that for some un-apparent reason he was afraid of the dark.
So as Finland glided forward he felt his hands tremble and his crease tense more and more.
Talking to Finland 2 had made his jitters more mellow but it wasn't enough.
The darkness was truly getting to him or perhaps that he was out alone in this brand new world with no one he knew or anything he knows. To be a ghost in this situation, where he wasn't physical enough to be attacked, was a lifesaver for the most part and was the only thing keeping him hold up his ironclad defense.
Being a ghost mothered him from all potential attacks in a sense and he was away from prying eyes. So it was truly just him and himself. No one else.
Now that this was dawning upon him, his desperate leaps and glides became much more relaxed as he swayed less and remained more in a straight line down.
His mind went over the perks of taking advantage of this situation.
First:
There was no fear in banging yourself against a tree.
Second:
Or fear of tripping down some misplaced gravel or a jutting out root from the ground.
Third: Couldn't be seen or attacked.
It was all good.
It was only midway through his endless traveling amongst this really freakishly large forest that he realized...If he were a legit ghost...wouldn't flying straight up be easier to scope things out?
Finland felt the sudden urge to hit his forehead for his late thinking. Maybe traveling across the cosmos scattered his brain. He really wasn't sure why he was taking everything too slowly.
Finland dug into his soles to add pressure towards the levitation. By pushing downwards with his weight, was how he was halting his movements however by preventing the gliding, it was adding a push that wanted to spring forwards.
It was then that Finland slowed to a stop. He bent down and poised himself in a ready to shoot up form. He then leaped upward with all his might. It became quite apparent that it really didn't make that much of a difference in height when he barely reached the lowest branch in his sight.
He may have ascended at least 10 feet by best before he came floating down.
It really wasn't enough or to how much Finland himself had expected. He looked a bit sour as he pouted.
Finland looked up to the starry sky again through the small parting through the many branches.
If only...he could just fly up. Why couldn't...
it be that easy?
He gave it one more hop upwards as he somewhat hovered up on a thick and long branch near the ground.
Finland knew he was doing something wrong because he had managed to shoot up back to the top of the cliff from where America had landed-which was near the bottom of the cliff.
In his memories, it all had happened so automatic, that at the time Finland didn't give it much thought. It was only now that he was actively trying to do things, that nothing was happening or backfiring.
So...how did he reach the top of the cliff from that angle before?
Finland skimmed through his memories when he realized what he had done in that spur of the moment.
Finland now recalled somewhat run-hopping up the cliff horizontally. He finally remembered this and wanted to give it a try now that he was finally hovering on a branch.
The ideal in this situation would have been to just float upwards in the sky and pinpoint your location. For some reason however, this magic that is imposed on Finland didn't allow that logic to work that way.
So instead of struggling against it, he decided to work around it and apply that strange notion.
"Walking...horizontally...upwards?
...
Alright. This is isn't...going to be that hard... I just got to take another step..."
Finland took a step forward to optimistically see that his foot anchored to the place he stepped in. He took off his other leg and swung it forward. After taking a few more steps up the tree, he confidently ran-hopped up to the tip of the tree top.
He let out a small rejoice as soon as he reached the top and perched on it like a soft bird.
He was amazed at how the tree was supporting him at all, but as a ghost- perhaps most of his gravity was gone now. Only a small amount was there to keep him in place and barely as Finland noticed he was still hovering an inch away from the tree top.
He decided to push back that small worry as he took in the beautiful scenery around him.
It was if he was in a bath of pine trees then the stars were the bubbles rising from the bath. The hue of the navy blue sky was very piercing and Finland thought it to be very meaningful. The view itself was perhaps very simplistic to everyone else, but after what Finland went through, even the simple pleasures were something to be in awe about.
Sure it was wondrous for Finland to have seen super novas up close and go through a star or two, but it was this view of the stars twinkling on earth...this felt like the best view.
Finland decided it then that as soon as everything was over, he's definitely want to get in contact with Finland 2 and perhaps look at a starry night sky such as this one.
Mental rain check it is.
Finland broke away from his reverie as he looked at the ocean more intently. Something in the back of his mind, kept telling him to look at the horizon.
So Finland scanned the ocean from left to right. He felt the mark that he left on America's glasses all the way at the left when Finland scanned his eyes over there.
He mildly thought, "Ah, he's over there. Okay then."
While Finland look where he was at, he realized that he had traveled a large portion toward the east.
Finland stopped for a second when he was looking off into the distant right. It felt like something was there though he could not know what yet.
That didn't stop him from keeping his gaze locked in that direction as he wondered about other things.
Most rules applicable to his past self were seemingly being thrown out the window here.
In the past, Finland 2 would automatically arrive in the same room as his future self. But in this instance, it didn't happen. Finland 2 would travel with his real body and again that didn't occur this time.
The more and more Finland thought about this and seeing all the triumphant actions Finland 2 had done, the more it irked him. Flashes of seeing Finland 2 smile and be smug in his successes made Finland feel a bit forsaken. Nothing he originally planned for bore fruit and it just felt like he was making sudden ideas and just winging it.
It felt like lady luck had dropped kicked him lately and Finland had been deeply hoping that was not the deal. Finland only understood that she didn't totally forsake him when the alma log spell came through the second time, as he saw those glasses sparkle and the spell seal.
But as Finland looked down into the pitch darkness he mumbled defeating, "Why isn't anything going the way I want it too? I mean...
I knew in my mind this wasn't going to be easy...but...THEN why did Finland 2 make everything seem so easy?
...
I swear, he was more like the American version of myself than me... Stronger and a lot more successful even though in a way he and I are the same. But these differences, are a lot to live up to.
Was I? JUST too coddled for a Finland in my world? And what if the version I meet in this world is sort of like me in terms of weakness...boy is everything just going to keep on getting harder and HARDER.
...
If he is weak, I'm going to kick him mildly and kindly as I can into bright and fit shape. Maybe while I am at that, I'll whip some backbone into myself too. I really should be more proud about what I accomplished even though I still don't really know what the fuck I'm still doing here in this pile of pine trees... =_=
In a sense, though...really saving America was what 6 past me's couldn't have done...and all the other past me's before that.
...
And I did...
So...
wow...
that's ...
a lot of failure there."
Finland was soon finding the whole idea quite alarming. Had he really achieved such an impossible feat? That he, out of all the world's and nations that ever existed in those worlds...that he was the only one that actually managed to save that American from certain doom?
The answer felt like the universe itself as it mildly started to weigh on Finland's shoulders. He really had done the impossible though to him it was probably something really simple and everyday like almost.
Finland hover sat on the tip now really ruminating the idea. A certain flare lit up in his eyes then as he regained some determination.
"If I did that...then I'm DEFINITELY going to teach everyone magic here as well. This way, we'll have two worlds filled with active magical users so that tragedies like before won't ever occur again. I know I left North, China, and Scotland to keep on teaching the basics our friends while I'm gone...but it'll be hard to teacher the ones here alone though. It'll be a lot more difficult as I'll be the one to be teaching all of them. And what if I'm the only magical user here?
That's going to be tons of more work... However, I must try my best and arm up this world. They must be capable to defend America from now on. Or at least capable enough to fight whatever is going to come to this world as to mine.
The bad guys are as invisible as the air itself. But in time they will definitely arrive. They've not failed 300 times and more and I doubt they'll stop anytime soon. When they find out...that I stopped America from dying...they'll probably come for America themselves and come to this world.
They may even be here already. So...I really can't keep on being this negative on myself. I must tower above my insecurities and put each of them to rest."
Doubt still colored Finland's mind as he weighed the cons a little more heavily.
"But what if I can't effectively teach everyone here? What if I'm the only magical user here? What if everyone doesn't want to trust in me like in that world? Can I gain the confidence of everyone here? Can I really keep America safe? And I do feel relieved that he is Alma Logged, but Finland 2...he said there was a paged ripped out from that book before concerning Alma Log. Maybe it's not a really big deal...but I feel like as this spell is one of the big spells...I feel like there is something else that we haven't really uncovered. Finland 2 did so many things and trying to set down everything straight for me. And all I've done was learn them to the letter like a school kid I would presume...
Though really...how many times does Alma Log work? Does it only work that one time? Or do I have to keep applying it? If it stays, how long does it stay in effect? Or is it a one time sort of cast? It'd be really awesome if that could be. Like everything that has happened to me so far says...I don't think it's easy."
The last sentence really ran Finland's throat dry as he coughed a bit to correct it.
Finland hugged himself as he looked up towards the ocean. There was a mild breeze blowing then as the swaying branches made a soft murmuring in the trees. If this world had been Finland's world he was sure he'd fall to sleep right then and there from the relaxing chill vibes. But where he was now, in the dark, in this new world with no clue, he felt at a loss.
His eyes welled up with ghost like tears. He really couldn't understand why he was feeling like this. He thought himself to be stronger than this. He had SUCCEEDED in saving America...so then...why didn't he feel all that good about it? Was it because he had to watch America still fall? And that he was just in the middle of still fucking nowhere? That he was making no real progress at all? Or are his insecurities stemming from the fact that he feels like an anomaly in this world?
Back in his homeland, he always felt a sense of reassurance and pride. It was a confidence you wore as a nation.
And Finland was sure that he did have more backbone back at home. He was willing to try things he never did before. And he planned and worked hard for his goals.
So all of that was really putting Finland off guard. It was as if his can do attitude had left him once he left his galaxy. He was now bare and had to relearn things he took for granted such as confidence and courage.
He was feeling very human things which maybe was the thing that was unsettling. Did that mean that he was now more like a human than a nation then? Was that the reason he felt afraid of the dark? Because he now doesn't know what is behind the darkness and what is happening with the land?
Finland whined as he tried to shake off this can't do attitude. He really needed to be up for this and strong again. He knew he'd have to be strong for whatever was to now come. He did get America out of the storm and now they were in the eye of the storm. Calmness in reassurance of America's somewhat safety. The hard part was what comes. Would what come? Finland didn't know and wouldn't know the longer he sat on this tree top. But it was okay to be human Finland felt then. This feeling of undeniable fear was something that is new and something he now needs to understand.
It won't go away with a can do attitude he thought. But he could make gentle steps to understand it.
Nothing really came to mind and he found himself daydream certain stars and novas he saw while passing in that fucking cosmos. As he remembered, the ride had been unmemorable...but he hadn't felt that type of fear during the duration of the ride.
It was only when the sun had set and all around him igniting the darkness to come out and play, that he felt his hairs go upward. It was very subtle at the time...but he was sure of it now.
He became afraid of the dark while he sat with America's glasses. That was when that human like fear began.
As he began his "gliding into the forest" adventure, he felt the fear subside. Only now after being so long in the darkness was it becoming more prominent and nagging.
Finland's really couldn't think anymore as he realized that his break should now be over. It was time to start moving again. Nothing was being solved but then again, perhaps staying there, would mean being shielded from any other things to happen. But he knew he'd have to find himself eventually and get back to America. So this break does have to end.
And so it ends.
Finland got up as he pushed his feet off the tip of the tree and lunged himself towards the tree right before him. He hadn't really planned this out and just felt the urge to do it. So while now descending he was muttering, "What the fuck did I just do? WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST DO?"
Expecting this experiment to be a failure and to be just sent down- he reached for the tree in a grabbing motion in a all win or nothing way. He closed his eyes waiting for failure when he felt relieved as he felt his feet hover above something mildly. As he opened his eyes he saw that he was in the other tree now, hovering on a branch when he glided over. He had succeeded and it felt good.
It was then that Finland repeated what he learned he could do and ran-hopped up the tree. Finland had realized that there was nothing he could currently do with his lack of enthusiasm and fear of the night, so he thought it best to stick near the tops of the trees instead and regain some fighting spirit.
Plus side to tree hopping was that he'd always have a bird's eye view of his location which was better than gliding in the dark with no sense of direction. This way, he could actively have an idea of his location higher up constantly.
This was taking a lot longer as he felt each landing into each tree was slower than the next but he felt...safer up there than down there so that killed two birds with one stone.
This fear was irrational and something he never felt before but as everything he was experiencing was something he never did before...Finland decided to chalk this up as another thing to "get over."
Some time had passed when Finland saw a glint very far away when he was descending from the tree top onto the other tree. He stopped himself swaying on the branch as he tried to grab onto the other branches to give him some support. He couldn't grab it as his fingers past through them. Almost falling off balance he bent back upwards to stop himself from falling down. He let a relieved sigh when he found balance again.
Sheesh. Ghost powers or not this is annoyingly difficult.
After remaining still and looking on off at that general direction he didn't see any glint anymore.
Deciding it was just something miniscule, he walked upwards again towards the tree top. As soon as he moved upwards, the glint shone again. Finland quickly looked up to see where the glint was coming from as the apparent source of it came from not too far towards north east of him.
Is that... a light being reflected from a window?
Finland hopped from tree top to tree top then in a more efficient manner as he struggled to get to where the reflection was coming from.
A glass meant society and perhaps a building? And in that building there was probably a map and perhaps people. Anything would be a good lead at this point so Finland placed his bets that he'd get more done somewhere around that instead of being miserably lost in a forest.
Finland knew that this was all too much of wishful thinking but he had no other choice. It was his first time in this world and he was looking into his memories of Finland 2 before. He had seen the struggles Finland 2 had to also go through when encountering a new world. The dread of not being sure what to do or even where to begin was a norm. And if any crumble led you down a path, then that is the path you must realize even if it wasn't the right one. It all begins with a start.
That is what Finland had learned in the brief memories of Finland 2. It was time to test that little nugget of knowledge out himself.
Calm and buoyant he hopped from tree to tree, making longer strides.
Finland felt like he has more in control of his ghostly powers once he shoved out all the unnecessary worry and fear. Now that he had a precise goal in mind, doing this felt smoother as it probably looked more elegant. After Finland grasped the notion of how to not fall off the tree and really land into the other tree, did the last batch of tree hops become more calm and carefree.
It really was all just practicing and learning.
Then he saw a tall white like building, which looked colonial styled with rows of columns, coming up in the front of his scope.
It was still far but Finland felt it looked very official. This would be a good building to look into for info on this world. He had made the right decision in following that far off glint. And for that Finland let out a deeply needed sigh of relief.
Thank goodness that glassy light meant something.
The building was on a somewhat hill jutting out of the endless sea of pine trees. It seemed that there was a massive driveway to get to it too as Finland noticed a large flat land of grass encircle the building.
It was when Finland finally got towards the large clearing that he felt something.
Something felt very true and it resounded deeply in his heart.
Finland had leapt off the last tree and came onto the ground, his neon green cape swaying softly towards the right as a billowing feather. He tentatively glided past the stone wall preventing intruders and came onto the clearing. He was surprised to see some sprinklers on in the night.
He had stepped right into one and calmly smiled when he realized again how happy he was a ghost and not getting wet right now.
Again Finland felt something stir in his heart as he realized it felt similar to something he felt before.
This feels like...it feels like when I'm about to meet a magical user. So that means...that someone like me is here in this dark building. This is great. Right? No, definitely right, it's great. It's awesome.
Finland quietly stepped forwards and glided on the moon lit grass. He looked down towards the very well cut and taken care of grass. It still disturbed him to see that there was no shadow being casted off his self. Again he felt the affirmation that he was a ghost. He needed to understand that. Ghost. Ghost.
This idea was still an increasingly difficult concept to swallow even if he had been a ghost already for who knows how many hours...but what put his mind from entirely believing that was that it all felt real to him. He could still smell things even if he couldn't feel the breeze. He could somewhat hold onto his self and when he tried hard enough the gravity on his fingertips and feet almost felt like they were grabbing or touching something. And right now he actually felt happy being transparent even though he internally knows he is real.
So to truly believe that he was a ghost in all of that...was difficult to believe and contradicting.
Finland stopped looking upset when he reached the marble like steps going up the entrance.
"Ah that's a good stone for a stairs. This must be a very important building then."
At the entrance, Finland hover-stood before these very tall and thick like double doors. Beautifully carved and with beautiful gold plated glass- it looked like a dream to behold.
Finland was admiring the detail for a little while longer when he felt something was watching him. Finland looked up towards his upper left, to see a camera looking right at him. Finland would have tensed had he been physical. But as he looked onwards to the camera, he just flatly looked at it.
Really...you can stare all you want. You're not going to see me cause apparently I'm really a ghost. And ah what is this?
Finland looked back at the door when he realized he missed something. The decorations of the door really overwhelmed this one slight thing. Slim dark like chains were wrapped around the golden like door latches so delicately. The chains blended in so well with the door he almost mistook it as a part of the detail.
And had he been a part of this world like any other just walking around, he wouldn't look twice at the doorknob. He'd just pass on by.
Now though, he looked at the chains with a rising suspicion as he noticed a sign that was tucked in the side of the door. It was upside down so Finland had to bend down and turn his head slightly to totally read it.
"Closed for rebuilding."
Finland looked flatly at the sign as he knew that wasn't true. If the building was closed then why would he feel a magical user in there? And why was the sprinkler system still on?
Clearly whoever was in charge of making this building closed should have shut off the system. That doofus. So this building is not closed. It was just someone else luring others away.
After affirming that, not willing to preventing himself any longer, Finland hopped through the door. He arrived at a large dark lobby room. It was oval as there was a lavish set of large stairs studded with elegant carvings and gems on it. It led to an upstairs which looked pretty normal from his view. There were two doors closed at the bottom right and left of the stairs on the ground floor he was on.
There was also a large chandelier of crystal in the middle of the place. It twinkled marvelously with the slight moonlight that managed to hit the glass.
There was a desk to his immediate left where two black land phones hung on the wall. There incredibly enough WAS a large map of the entire building right behind the desk in a bright and flashy frame.
If Finland had wished for luck, then luck surely had listened to his whining. Finland clapped his hands as he quickly prayed, "THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU UNIVERSEEEEEEEE. I WAS STARTING TO THINK YOU HATED ME OR SOMETHING? Ah! This is going to make things much easier. Though... if I'm reading this perfectly...everything just says meeting room 1, meeting room 2, meeting room 3, 4, 5... sigh*"
Finland skimmed the map despite the dark lighting. There had been no room conveniently labeled "nation room." It would have been a fools dream to believe such an easy thing would happen and so Finland decided it best to just look up stair's and just go from there.
The stairs lead to a long corridor with rows of windows all on one side of the corridor. Stacks of doors were on the other side. All doorknobs were the same as were the doors. The only difference was the number tag which was written on a small sign.
Finland floated towards the window you first see once you reach the top of the stairs. He saw a beautiful view of the ocean.
He could only imagine how pretty it would look like in the daytime and gave a commendable thought to the designer of the place. Clearly that person had class and was smart for making such a building at such a place. Finland looked downwards at the somewhat small garden below. The beautiful bushes or dark roses decorated the small garden looking towards the ocean. Towards his left he saw that the stone wall that was encircling all the front was not there as stacks of trees ebbed there. That would be the entrance into that unholy maze of trees and Finland shuddered from the thought of having to go back into that anytime soon.
He liked society like things much more recently and took to shying away from the window then.
Finland decided to float towards the right to see if he could feel where the magical user was. As Finland kept floating down the hall, he felt he was going further away from the magical source. With this, he turned back around and flew left. The more he floated down the red carpeted hall, he felt he was getting closer. Though...he also felt like he still wasn't close enough. Finland thought it would be a good idea to jump upwards a level but the ceiling was way too high. Clearly the designers of this building had thought this out to piss him off. Finland chuckled cause he knew that wasn't true as he kept pressing onward.
He began to hum in order to distract himself. The silence was becoming a little too eerie for him.
That was when he noticed..."When did silence become... something I was more aware of?"
Finland thought about his home and how he was off so far away from the city. The silence of being in the mountains never bothered him before.
So again...why was something he wasn't aware of before...why did it start to dig under his skin?
Finland hummed some off tune hymn as he reached the end of the hallway. He saw the "stairs" sign as he floated through the door. He floated up the stairs and to the next level. This level too had similar looking format to the one below. The only difference was that there were vases with a palm tree like plant on the ground aligning the whole hallway. This hallway had beautiful lilac like drapes tied to each side of the windows. The floor below only had a light fabric blind on the top which was less elegant. So with this hallway being much more extravagant, even Finland could tell that perhaps this hallway was reserved for people of more importance.
"So...this is where the big shots give their talks then? And ah...I feel the presence of the magical user much higher now! I'm kind of worried though.
I wonder...
...who it will be? That I meet for the first time other than America? Ahhhhhhh."
Finland floated down the hallway slightly fidgeting now that he realized he'd probably meet someone else for the first time. Again Finland looked down to see that there was no shadow being casted on this marble like floor. There was no carpeting this time and Finland faintly wondered why they put such a not good looking carpet on the floor below if perhaps there was marble below it?
It was when Finland noticed a broken vase lying pitifully on the ground that slowed Finland down.
He didn't feel fear...but it was just some sort of uneasiness that was taking him instead.
Broken things...in a such pristine place...was odd.
Finland finally arrived next to the vase and hovered there for a brief moment. He saw dirt spilled outwards. There was dirt scattered all around this plant as well leaving the area unkempt. Finland bent down to see if anything else was a miss but there wasn't anything else to look at. It was...
...just a broken vase after all.
Nothing special.
Finland got up when he realized he had been feeling more of a presence right there in that location. Finland look around to then see the double doors next to him slightly ajar. The rest of the doors for both halls had been shut. But this one...was open.
Finland definitely felt it now if he wasn't feeling it before. Definitely.
The magical user of this land was definitely in this room. So as Finland motioned towards the door he said cautiously, "Hello?"
Finland knew that no one would hear him but he had hoped...that if someone magical was there...maybe...they'd see him as a ghost? Most magical users could see mythical creatures...and applying the same logic, he was hoping the person would see him too.
Finland slid through the door to find it entirely pitch black. He could see nothing at all. Yet, he felt the most magical power right in here.
So someone was definitely there with him. He just wasn't able to see them yet.
"Why would anyone be in this pitch dark room? And that person didn't hear me...so...I guess thinking I apply to mythical creature standards was off."
It occurred to Finland that if he could perhaps open the double edged doors, could there be more light entering the room.
He was about to yell venti secoundus to activate when he realized, "wait...this is a room. I can just turn on the light. DUH FINLAND. DUH. However... as a ghost... I won't be able to feel the switch on the wall anyways. I guess this time, I should venti secondus my whole body.
Shit.
How many seconds do I have anyways?
...
I think 5 seconds will do then. Alright. 5 SECONDUS!"
The nothingness of where Finland had been floating in, finally held a physical being. Finland's feet felt the ground as he quickly ran towards the right of the wall and felt around for the switch. Luckily for him the switch was there as he flicked on the light.
Click*
He almost tripped over a trash bin right there next to him as Finland muttered a slight curse when he disappeared again. Finland was a ghost again and he was sure that perhaps the magical user who was in the darkness had seen him switch on the light. So as Finland turned around he opened his mouth to speak again...but he didn't.
He just stayed quite still as his mouth was still ajar.
He couldn't really believe what he was looking at.
But it was all definitely true. His hazel eyes widened with a mix of conflicting grief and worry.
Because he had been looking forward to seeing everyone again for the first time in this world. But like everything that has happened, nothing happened how he wished it. This was another one of those moments.
So as Finland stood there awe stricken, he couldn't help but to mouth, "Everybody...I'm finally here..."
Right before his eyes, everyone was there. Everyone was there.
Finland fought back the urge to scream as he began to quickly glide around surveying his friends. His nation friends were there, on the floor, or carelessly slouching on their desks. It was if they all had a hard core party night and all crashed horribly. But Finland knew this wasn't the case.
Finland still felt their life force as he glided near them hurriedly. He remained very calm and quiet as he flew around very quickly. He inspected them all with stern worried eyes as he would bend his ear towards their mouths to hear if they were breathing. 10 times out 10 everyone was breathing which did alleviate him somewhat but as he went onto the next nation lying around, he felt butterflies nosh in his gut again.
He was really going to thrash whomever it was that did this to them. And SUPER HARD drop kick them into a volcano if he could.
They all seemed alright until he got up to Spain. Spain was on the center of the room up front. his head was slightly against the desk with the podium. Spain looked like he was sweating a lot as his face was very flushed. Finland came in closer as he tried to keep his head leveled even though he wanted to cry when he inched closer and closer.
He noticed how quietly Spain was breathing. He knew he'd have to Alma log Spain right away.
So Finland said aloud, "3 secondus... Alma logg Spain to pen." Finland's mouth appeared as then the spell was cast. The glitter like pen on the floor beside Spain was the item Finland picked. The pen glowed briefly and stopped glowing thus sealing the spell.
Finland massaged his temples as he realized this was all too much to take in.
At least he had the relief of now knowing that both America AND Spain would not die. But truly this was just another surprise among so many surprises. It was all so draining and straining.
Pale Finland muttered incredulously, "S-s-Spain... Like? What HAPPENED to you man? You're super strong in my world so how'd you get so beat up dude? It's like you had a bad fight and actually gave up halfway? But knowing the past you, you would never give up...so why are you so h-hurt?"
Finland had tried to say that playfully but he felt his voice breaking near the end and his hands trembling. Finland looked at them as he realized he was really feeling upset about this. Two of his friends almost died today.
If he had hadn't been there in time to see America fighting off that young man...if he hadn't found this building and found Spain...
...
...by the time the rest of the nations would wake...would Spain still be alive by then?
The thought made Finland sick as he decided it best to now look for his future self.
It seemed like everyone came here for a world meeting. So he just had to find himself. The magical nation Finland had been attracted too was England. And Finland felt other waves of magical users also in the room. But he'd get to them a little later.
Finland was sure he already used up most of his venti secoundus so, doing anything more like waking them up wouldn't work. He didn't have much to use.
He had been gliding up and down when he finally found himself...his awesome future self...sleeping in the trash bin.
Finland had the urge to swat away the banana lying on his other self's hair. But he didn't want to use the last 2 or so seconds he had left on that and decided to keep that there.
It still bothered him though as he pouted angrily at the banana peel wishing it off the head. Not that "that" would work.
Finland had imagined meeting himself in much different circumstances . Not him crouching creepily towards his splayed out self. But at this point in life, either Finland was reaching new Zen levels because he swore nothing could surprise him now. He had seen it all and in the course of one day, just like the day he learned there were other galaxies and selves.
Serious déjà vu on fuckery levels. Finland just understood this now and put on a Zen face as he looked on towards his future self. The slight smile disappeared as Finland felt the urge to really smack the universe very hard or at least pinch very fiercely its cheeks.
Though Finland wouldn't get to do either as he then laid tentatively his palm on Finland Future's cheek.
Finland thought, "Merge!"
And like how things were going this whole trip...nothing happened.
Finland began to sweat as he then urged himself to repeat, "MERGE!"
"MERGE, " he said aloud again.
He then said it in a more booming fashion...all to find that he definitely wasn't merging with his future self. Finland found the fuckery in this day was beyond anything he went up against and so decided to wave the imaginary flag of defeat.
Here he finally was, in this brand new world...and finally after seeing his future self...he couldn't even merge with himself.
This was just too pitiful as Finland began to crack. He giggled a little as that progressively turned into a louder chuckle. It then became a belly like laugh as he reached for his hat.
"HAHAHAHA! WOW FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU UNIVERSE! FUCK! You decide to shoot me across the FRICKEN SCARY COSMOS all to fucking not be able to merge with myself. JUST incredible all this fuckery!
It's like I've hit the jackpot of fuckery.
If I knew, I would have traveled a day before! LIKE THEN maybe this wouldn't be like this. JUST MAYBE. But no...seriously...what am I going to do? This didn't happen before. This didn't happen before. I was suppose to merge with no worries. Now all I have are worries. Infinite worries. Nothing compares to the feeling I'm feeling right now. So...is this it? Is this where my fucking journey ends? I can only venti secondus for some reason and you need a day resting period after you use it all to top that off.
And lols, I've LITERALLY USED IT ALL.
I can't even settle down in this quiet peace...just ahhhh.
Fuck.
No no! Finland 2 would surely tell me to settle down and to get the ball back if it fell off court. Right? But UNIVERSE DID YOU EVEN GIVE ME THE FUCKING BALL?"
Finland shut up as he sat down fuming with his arms crossed.
Okay. chill down. I'm better than this. I think?
Anyways...Maybe...
Maybe when everyone wakes up will someone see me. Maybe this Finland will see me then and I can teach him magic spells orally...since I can't merge with him at the current moment. Yeah. Just because I can't right now doesn't mean I won't be able to later. YEAH! positive thinking Finland! Wasn't that what Sweden always did when something went wrong? Ah...seriously he was the better part of me and Susan...I want to pet you! PET MY WORRIES AWAYYYY. And you're somewhere in that fucking sky...ahhhh.
Ahhhh...
...
...
Okay. Whine session is quite over. I just...need to sit here...until everyone wakes up then. That's easy to do I guess. And I'm not in the darkness anymore...so at least there is that.
In the vast meeting room, where Finland's hopes and dreams lay, he leaned against the wall near his future self. He scanned the room amongst his sleeping friends as he found he preferred this silence over the silence out there within the trees. He could hear everyone's soft breathing and although it spite him to see them in this position, he felt overwhelmingly happy that they were for the most part: alive.
America was alive in spirit.
Spain was alive still and once he got the needed care he would continue to be alive.
All was well.
All was well Finland kept repeating as he sank into his knees and said finally, "Universe, you're one fucking bastard aren't you? But at the same time...if you were really so bad...I'm sure you wouldn't have guided me to this place and thus found my friends. For that, I'm thankful.
For that...
...I thank you. So...thanks.
I just...wished I could consult with past Finland...or with someone who knows this stuff or did the same thing I am doing now? No one really has ever done this before so I'm like the pioneer right now. And it's so scary universe...it really is. If anything, I'd like for you to give me a heads up on what else to do other than to wait for everyone to wake up. Why don't you help me out a bit? Please?"
Finland placed his head against the wall as he hopingly wished for some answer. Deep down he knew he was asking all these stupid questions and that none would be answered...but at this point he didn't really care if he sounded crazy or not. This was all crazy and it was even reality. So shrug*
"Dreams."
Finland's gaze sharpened as he realized the thought he thought.
"Dreams? Um...why did I say that? Wait...dreams...DREAMS! OMG, I'm feeling so funny. How could I possibly forget? Dreams!! An Alma logged person can go into the daydreams or dreams of others. SERIOUSLY! The Alma log 2nd part of the spell of Venti secondus worked on me...so that means I CAN GO INTO DREAMS. DAMN. SHIT. I couldn't go into America's glasses but I can go into anyone else's dreams," Finland finished hurriedly.
Finland shot up as he embarrassingly wore a off smile. He winced at his stupidity as he also wondered why he had said, "Dreams."
Perhaps it was subconscious answering or the universe~ Either one brought a derpy smile to Finland's face as he was now beaming like 100 suns.
Either way Finland stretched his hands as he began to see which one of his friends heads he would go into first.
He smiled as he picked one and stepped through the door of their dreams.
