Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 2 of No Shelter. Thank you to those who have kept up with this series. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this series. I know that a lot of you probably didn't like the idea of the last story that Morgan had stayed behind. There will be a flashback scene of what happened, but it won't happen right away. It'll probably happen when Morgan is alone. I hope that you guys will enjoy this next chapter of No Shelter. Without further ado Chapter 2. ENJOY!
Chapter 2
Morgan slowly came into the Captain's cabin seeing the look upon her father's face knowing that it wasn't a good look on his face.
Jack reached for the bottle of rum but it was empty. "Why is the rum always gone?" Jack stood up staggering a bit. "Right. That's why."
"You drank it all dad." Morgan said, shaking her head lightly.
Jack looked over at his daughter. "You come here for a reason?"
Morgan shrugged her shoulders. "You're not at ease dad."
Jack waved his hand as he carefully made his way towards the door to not stumble over his feet. "I'm fine."
Morgan let out a scoff knowing that wasn't true. She knew that her father was fighting something inside of him and she wasn't exactly sure of what it was.
Jack made his way out of the door and out onto the deck. He made his way towards the hatch.
"Heading, Captain?" Leech asked, looking at his captain.
Jack staggered a little bit. "Steady as she goes …" He said as he went down into the hold.
Morgan came out to where Leech stood. "I would do as he says." Morgan said softly.
"He is hiding something from us." Leech snapped as he narrowed his eyes at the younger woman.
"You take that tone with me, Leech?" Her lip curled in anger as she pulled her pistol aiming at him. "It will end you."
"You wouldn't kill a crew mate."
She cocked the gun ready to fire it. "I'm not my father being lenient on anyone. You do one wrong thing and you're dead." She snarled in anger. She wasn't just some little girl to be pushed around by others. She hated men that thought that they were better than women pirates.
Bonnie came out onto the deck and saw her daughter aiming a gun at Leech. "LEECH what did you do?" She questioned moving forward with narrowed eyes.
"She's threatening to kill me."
"Watch how you talk, lad." Bonnie snapped, narrowing her eyes. "You had to have said something to warrant a gun in your direction."
"He mentioned dad. Saying he's hiding something from us."
Bonnie's lip curled in anger. "Me husband isn't hiding anything." Bonnie didn't like the idea that the crew was now beginning to think that her husband was hiding something. She knew that he was hiding something for a good reason and honestly she had a feeling she knew exactly what it was. She could only hope that she was correct. "Keep the ship on the path he has us going. I am sure he'll have a path for us later on."
Leech huffed moving away from the two women.
"I don't see why you didn't let me kill that moron." Morgan said, uncocking her gun and putting it into its holster.
Bonnie shook her head lightly. "We don't need you killing anyone on the crew."
Morgan huffed as she crossed her arms.
Jack ran up through the hold yelling and screaming. "On deck! All hands! Lift the skin up, make fast the bundt gasket! Keep your loof! Have care of the lee hatch! Scurry! Movement, I want movement!"
The crew scrambled out of the hold and up onto the deck.
Bonnie blinked a few times seeing her husband coming out on deck from the hold wrapping a rag around his hand covering something up.
"Haul those sheets! Haul 'em! Run, mates, run, as if the devil himself and itself is on us!" Jack said, rushing to hide behind the mast.
Gibbs found him hiding, shaking in fear. "Do we have a heading?"
"Land!"
"What port?"
"I didn't say port, I said land! Any land!"
The monkey chose that moment to drop onto Jack's shoulder and screamed doing a leg kick aimed at Jack's hat and it flew into the ocean below. The monkey leapt into the rigging laughing.
"Jack's hat! Bring the ship about!"
"No! Leave it."
Gibbs turned his head not believing what he had heard. "Mind your stations, the lot of you!"
The crew went back to work.
Gibbs sided up next to Jack who had moved to look out over the water. "Jack -"
"Sh!"
"For the love of mother and child, Jack, what's coming after us?" He could tell that Jack was clearly terrified.
"Nothing." Jack said shooting Gibbs back to work.
Bonnie came up beside Gibbs. "Back to work Gibbs." She told the older man softly.
Gibbs nodded his head and went to go and help the younger Sparrow who was busy with her work already.
Bonnie moved closer to her husband. "Don't tell me that there is nothing after us." She told her husband softly, keeping her voice low enough for only Jack to hear.
Jack swallowed the lump in his throat gripping the fabric that covered his hand.
"You can't hide it from me Jack." She told him softly knowing that he was going to try to hide it but she wasn't about to let him do so. "I know what you did those years ago."
Jack nervously looked over at his wife, his eyes widening in fear. He had almost forgotten that she was there when he had made the deal with Davy Jones.
"He's coming after you, isn't he?" Her voice came out softer. "He's coming after the debt that you have… a debt to be repaid… you go to the locker."
Jack's shaky hand took her hand tightly in his.
Bonnie lightly squeezed his hand. "You shouldn't have called yourself captain for all those years… now you doomed yourself and your crew to death."
"No. We're going to land."
Bonnie shook her head lightly. "Taking you to land will only solve your problem for a little while. It won't help you fully." Bonnie carefully moved her eyes to where their daughter worked hard on her task at hand. "She deserves to know if something happens to you."
Jack shook his head. "I won't risk that on her. She will be even more upset with me than she is now."
"Jack… you raised her more than I…" Bonnie said softly letting out a soft breath as she looked into Jack's brown eyes. "I know you worry about how she's going to react, but what do you expect? She's been with you longer than she has with me. And we've only had time together for a year."
"I know."
"I know you're still angry with what had happened for those ten years."
Jack shook his head. "You were locked in the Captain's corridors when that happened. You had nothing to do with that." Jack said softly, gripping her hand tightly in his.
"I know I didn't, Jack. But why do you think Barbossa did what he did?"
Jack let out a breath. "He wanted you for himself." Jack then scoffed. "He wouldn't have been able to keep up with you."
Bonnie let out a soft laugh shaking her head lightly. "That's not all of it Jack. He wanted you to suffer… and not only that Morgan… and he even wanted me to suffer. He wanted me to crack by telling me that you had left with our daughter deciding that you didn't want to go after that treasure." Bonnie shook her head once again letting out a soft scoff. "Yes, granted he wanted me for himself. He wasn't about to leave that alone. He was mad at me that I chose you over him…"
"And he had every right to be. You were a beautiful young pirate coming up through the ranks, being probably more trouble than any of us could have expected."
"But it was something that brought you to me." Bonnie said leaning up and kissing him softly on the cheek knowing that it would probably make him feel a bit better than what he was feeling right now. "But please keep in mind that Davy Jones will always get what he is due. Just… promise me that you will tell her… she needs to know that the beast… the Kraken will come after you and no one will be safe until it brings you to Davy Jones Locker." She pulled away from him before turning to go and get to work.
Jack took a breath through his teeth knowing that was the case, but he didn't want to worry Morgan just yet.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
This is the end of Chapter 2. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I tried my best to add a bit more to this chapter to make it a bit longer. Yes, we didn't get to see the almost wedding of Will and Elizabeth. Just due to the fact that if it is a scene that isn't going to have Morgan or Bonnie in it, there is no reason to write it out. I find that it bogs the whole thing down if I do it that way. It's best to either have one or both of the Sparrow women. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing each chapter and each story. It really helps with the muse that sometimes likes to disappear most of the time. I hopefully will update next week with a new chapter. Until next time.
