"It's over."

"Over? Why, I don't understand."

"You're never around."

"What are you even talking about?"

The sound of children laughing could be heard. The man looked around,

"Wait a minute, I don't have kids."

When he turned back to his beloved, he found a colossal beast with the head of a monstrous goat.

"NOR WILL YOU EVER, MORTAL."

The beast lifted up a foot and crushed him.

Fox McCloud awoke on a couch in Merkavich General Hospital, sweating under his orange and white fur. His green eyes had bags under them from being taunted by that fiend every night for the last few weeks. Fox's breathing slowed and he realized that the wires connected to him were no longer there. More importantly, his doctor, Tim Ryan, was absent. He knew something was wrong. Suddenly, a hooded figure appeared in the door window. Fox turned away and saw the figure's shadow on the wall. He closed his eyes and repeated "Go away." in his mind.

When he opened them again, the figure was gone. Fox got up and looked out into the empty hall. Seeing nothing, he started towards the elevators when he heard that same terrifying voice.

"FOOOOOOOOOOOX."

The vulpine stopped dead in his tracks and looked behind him. The Demon Lord's shadow was on the wall and heavy footsteps were approaching. Fox ran to the elevators. The doors closed and the vulpine collapsed against the wall, his heart practically hammering it's way out of his chest. The doors opened to reveal what appeared to be the basement.

Fox went out, turned a corner, and saw the doors to the morgue. They blew open, revealing the same hooded figure from before and a legion of undead. Fox backed away and ran down another hall only to run into the grip of an extremely muscular beast known as the Hell Knight.

"THERE IS NO ESCAPE MORTAL." it spoke in it's master's voice.

"Fuck you Baphomet!"

HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH. YOU CAN'T STOP ME THIS TIME."

Fox noticed that Baphomet's voice was different. It was the same fear inducing voice, but it had an echo to it. Before he could think about it, the Hell Knight bent over and opened it's jaws. He woke up at the moment it would have bitten him. He was on the same couch, in the same room, in the same hospital. He knew that he was really awake judging by wires on his head and chest monitoring his brain activity and heart rate, and that Dr Ryan was sitting in a chair watching him.

"Well Doc, what do you think?"

"I...I...I don't know, you were talking perfectly. That usually doesn't happen when you're dreaming." said the Komodo Dragon

Fox pulled the wires off and sat up.

"This is how I got that flu."

"I figured, here, I'll write you a prescription for Cozac. Take one after you wake up from one of these."

Fox popped one and passed out within a minute. Granted, sleeping pills hadn't spared him the visions, but he had never thought of taking them afterwards.
