Harry has a different reaction to his near death experience at age nearly seven and become a right little Machiavellian Prince and, as his relatives tell everyone he's a hooligan, he starts bringing their falsehoods to life.
I don't own or derive any material benefit out of Harry Potter or Stargate. This story is not a crossover, though it will feature a certain general from Texas.
Not being American, I know nothing about San Antonio or LA and may get things wrong, a lot. The school is real; the events portrayed are not. Harry has his own views about religion. Harry reaches 11 and Hogwarts in this episode. so may not be correct. That doesn't mean he'll change his views. He is rather stubborn.
I don't own anything to do with other franchises that may make appearances in this fanfiction. I'm just making use of the characters. The points in favour of Daniel's theory are for fanfiction purposes only and not to be taken as true.
Harry Potter had only admitted to killing 10,000 Vampires to those attending Summer School at Ilvermorny. Missy had come all the way to see him. He remembered that she was a succubus. The only vampire he had a civil relationship with, Selene, was leading vampire groups offering tours. They could feed on any mortals, no-Majs, who opted to take one of their tours. Harry or James Hammond as he was known was a Friend of the Lycans, which meant there were Lycans watching over him, at all times. The Lycans would have welcomed any opportunity to fight Vampires.
About 11:30 pm Missy ran into Selene and a dozen heavily armed death dealers. They had a human girl, about 16, in their grasp. If they were all to feed, the girl would be dead in minutes.
"Hello, Selene, let the girl go."
"Missy, long time no see. The girl is ours. All legal and part of the treaty."
"I'd hate for James to learn that you're feeding on humans, Selene. He actually likes you. Surprising, isn't it? He likes me, too."
"He'd be disappointed to learn what you are," Selene said.
"You're the one doing the feeding," Missy countered.
Selene considered. "Leave the girl, alive, lets go." The Vampires obeyed her. They didn't look like they agreed with her. Missy hoped she wouldn't have a difficult time with her coven. This didn't stop Missy from tracking the Vampires all the way back to their coven. The girl had run off as soon as the vampires let her go.
MACUSA stopped Harry from changing the numbers he had killed by making it a classified number and saying that James was only involved in the number of Vampires killed. This took the winds out of Hermione's sails as she'd been demanding to know why he'd lied. Harry had said that he'd doubted that anyone had believed he'd killed 10000 Vampires. Who would believe an 8-year-old kid could? MACUSA's involvement had robbed Hermione of her moment to tell 100 kids, herself and Harry included that James Hammond had killed 100000. Hermione hadn't responded to Harry asking her how she was enjoying Summer School.
Harry had some free time and had found himself in the library. Strangely, Hermione wasn't there. He found a book Potters come to America, again. Harry found that the Potters in the US had started with one of the original 12 Aurors who'd come across the ocean. There was a small section on how that family had grown. There was even less about a black sheep Potter who had founded Salem, been thrown out of that school for inappropriate relations and then used his considerable ill-gotten fortune to buy Ilvermorny and made it America's answer to Hogwarts. Ilvermorny had flourished.
By the 1860s there were 60 Potters alive, 40 of them in MACUSA. A lot of those had died during the War between the States. Immediately following that, Muggles had discovered MACUSA and tried to kill every wizard and witch. All the Potters had been killed. 12 of the 20 Potters living in magical Britain had come over. They had put down the Muggles' assault on magicals almost singlehandedly, according to the book. 10 had died during the struggle. The 2 remaining had settled down, 1 founding Potter Inc. By 1922, when Charlus Potter had become Lord, there were 2 magical Potters -Charlus and his brother Fleamont. Harry realised the book must have been written by a Potter squib from the section in the book how Potter squibs were overlooked when it came to Charlus Potter inheriting Potter Inc. The section was very bitter. Harry wondered if they were any descendants of those squibs still alive. He had a feeling they would still be very bitter about it and would be less than pleased that James Hammond, a non-Potter child had recently inherited Potter Inc.
Harry was struck by two things. The first was that the dozen Potters who'd come to America had used some very dark spells. The second was that the Potter squib was so proud of being a Potter squib. The author's name, if their real name, was Saul Haythorn. There was a Haythorn in his class at school. He'd started this year. A potential enemy. Harry had not exactly kept James Hammond's name out of the local paper.
Meanwhile in Rome, Italy, a file on James Hammond had made its way to the Office of the Apostolic Penitentiary, for review. That James Hammond was a child was of no import to the Office. James Hammond had attacked Catholic Church Doctrine and Dogma and had had a run in with a Catholic Archbishop. He had attended various Catholic services and apparently had made his peace with the Church. He still did not attend Confession and had not recanted his beliefs or been made to do a penance. That he'd had two Watchers was further evidence of his guilt, the Officer believed. His actions against the Vampires marked him as a most dangerous individual.
The Officer knew what the penance was to be. James Hammond would attend Confession, confess his sins and become an Altar Boy for Father Bassom. That should teach him obedience. The Officer so ordered. Failure to comply would see James Hammond on trial before the Assembly.
Fred and Claudette received the orders from their local priest. James was away and wouldn't be back, until school began again. The priest looked none too happy. Neither Fred nor Claudette would agree to tell James to return or do what he didn't want. This could be trouble later on.
The wizards in charge of magical theory explained in great detail about control of spells. The effect of spells depended on the emotional intent with which they were cast. An adult trained extensively in casting in a controlled manner. Doing so, a trained mage could cast magic all day. Harry doubted that. These were the high-level battle mages and were very rare. The duellers required to be able to cast chained spells in short bursts of high intensity. They relied on spell strength to overwhelm their opponents defensive magic as much as to catch them out.
Children tended to cast quite a bit of accidental magic that wasn't cast through a magical focus, a wand, say, and were of high emotional content. This often caused the spellcaster to over use the magical reserves they had available and left them drained of magic and in a highly vulnerable state.
Harry had used a series of spells to overcome the Vampire defences and fiendfyre to destroy their fortresses. He'd had the wands that belonged to his parents. His mother's responded to him best, when he was using Charms; his father's when he was transfiguring things. The few wizards and witches whom he had duelled, he had tried his best to trick them, put them off their step rather than to try to match their strength.
Harry had an advantage the other children did not have. His parents had written their attack and defense strings down and explained why they used them. He trained with Hermione as much as he could. He noticed that she was hesitant in her choice of spells and, whilst she had memorised more spells than the others he fought, was caught far too often in mid cast. Harry talked with her and asked her if she had a series of spells planned to be used? Hermione said she did. Harry asked her why she changed what she was going to do, midway through a fight. He told her the time to evaluate their effectiveness was after combat was over.
The last couple of weeks were fun. The kids did combat medicine. They learnt the spells to use to detect wound severity and the spells to use to counter them. They also learnt the potions to use and how to brew them. Harry told Hermione to always keeps a medkit handy and how to summon it and to teach all of the study group how to do it, too. She promised she would.
The kids were all invited back to Summer School the following year. The Grangers said they'd think about it. Harry got a proper Hermyhug. Then it was back to San Antonio.
Harry had felt guilty about not thinking about Grandpa George all summer. Grandpa George must think him the most useless grandson, ever. He had looked for books on using magic to help squibs conceive. He had found a potion that would tell him, if Fred and Claudette were squibs and how strong they were. It was a start. He shared this news with them. They were overjoyed.
Harry spent the last few days before school brewing the potions for his medkit. He included muggle bandages and plasters. He also brewed the squib testing potions. They would take a month to brew correctly. He explained this. They were all over him. He resolved that by going into a family hug. Hermione would be proud of him, he thought.
Going back to school was almost an anti-climax. Harry said that to Paul. Paul agreed. He had learnt so much, he couldn't wait to go there, when he was 11. Harry had had the bad news before he'd left Ilvermorny that there was another child who would be getting the scholarship that Paul thought he was getting.
Harry was summoned to the principal's office. This was regular occurrence. Harry was not concerned. The Father told him that Rome had sent instructions concerning him. Harry almost went into panic mode. He had to attend Confession. Confess his sins and become an Altar boy for Father Bassom. Harry did not need to be a legilimens to determine the use to which Father Bassom put his Altar boys. With Rome on his case, Harry could not do anything that was fatal or use magic openly against the Father.
Harry told his parents what he was going to do. It was obvious that they knew of Father Bassom's sins. He agreed to what he was going to say in Confession, should anyone check-up. Fred and Claudette thought he was being most sensible.
Harry was on his way, that Saturday, to catch a bus to take him to Father Bassom. He was surprised and knocked out. He'd sensed 4 figures around him before passing out. He recognized them from his visit to the Archbishop.
When he came too, he noticed that he was spread eagled across a desk and had his hands and ankles secured. He also noticed that he was naked. This was not good. The Father was also naked. This was even less good.
"I like my boys to be awake, when they experience me for the first time," he said. "If only I could shout out the pure joy this union is to everyone."
Harry had very little time to prepare. A muffilatio to sound proof the room, was first off. Harry began to scream, soundlessly. Depulso, followed by stupefy. Control, he thought to himself. A diffindo to cut each of the ropes and then, Harry turned to consider Father Bassom. The good Father was knocked out. Another spell and Harry could stop his heart. Harry had to staunch the loss of his blood. This he did. He dressed. Then he confounded a drousy Father. The Father had had a really good time. He was definitely going to share the boy with his friends. In fact, a week today, he was going to go into a police station and tell an officer exactly what he'd done and how many boys he'd done it with and the names of his friends who had shared the experience. He was done with the boy, for today and would let him leave.
Harry didn't sit down, when he got in the car with the four priests. They'd laughed. So they knew. He was only partly faking not wanting to sit down. Harry contacted one of his werewolf friends and explained that he wanted them to track a car used by four priests who operated out of the archbishopric. Then he used his medkit to fix himself. That done, he did his homework. He had to order replacements to make more potions. He used his allowance to do that.
His Confession was different to the usual babble as he told the school father what had happened to him. The Father had told him not to say anything to anyone about it. Harry was able to control his magic before the smiling Father turned into a roman candle.
Paul could not stop talking about Ilvermorny. Harry decided that they should form a study group and put down their memories on paper. Paul agreed to the idea. They wrote up quite a lot of details. They described what they had liked and what they hadn't.
Harry waited for the car come and pick him up again the next Saturday. It didn't come. Two officers came who took a statement from James. James (Harry) described what had happened and that the school Father had told him not to say anything about it. The officers had got serious worried looks on their faces after James had said that.
The local Sunday papers were full of the arrest of Father Bassom and 19 other Catholic priests including the one at the prestigious local Catholic school for the assault of 200 boys. Done and done, Harry thought. Mass should be interesting that morning. If the sermon wasn't about the weakness of the flesh, he'd eat his goldfish.
Harry's goldfish was safe. At the end of the service, as they were leaving the priest said how sorry he was. James said, "All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." The priest looked as though he'd been slapped in the face.
Harry was enjoying 5th Grade. Best thing about it was that his mother taught him Civics. Learning American history was interesting. There'd been nothing like this at school in England. Sure, he'd learnt History, but nothing about what a citizen was supposed to do and how they should act.
He played sports. He learnt how to fence. Dancing came naturally after that. He was the quarterback on his year team. Guard at basketball and short stop at baseball. His phenomenal reaction speed was why he was so good. He had many friends. He wrote to Hermione and the gang once during term. He was becoming American and had acquired the Texan drawl. His life in Britain was fading. Harry had a really good life. He was truly happy. All the blocks that had been placed on him fell away that year. Riddle's soul departed after Harry had a reaction to alcohol that had been surreptitiously introduced to celebrate the end of term.
By then, the potions had been ingested and the results produced. Both were fairly close to being magical. Claudette was slightly closer than Fred. Harry had written to Ilvermorny through his lawyers asking for any spell or potion that would enable a couple of upper quotient squibs to have offspring. Harry bought presents for the study group back in England and sent them off.
Harry's best present that Christmas was the return of Grandpa George. His tour of duty was over. Harry's joy was cut short when George had said he was enjoying a few days with them and then it would be back to the campaign in Panama. He was now a Brigadier General in charge of two wings. The family had shared more laughter than Harry's feeble joke about a plane needing two wings had perhaps deserved.
Harry still hadn't come to terms with what had happened at Thanksgiving that year. Even in retrospect, it hadn't made much sense. Harry had spent Thanksgiving with the Haythorn family. There had been 11 adults and about two dozen kids. It was more like a clan, Harry had thought. They had fed him. It had been a good meal. He could have done better. Then they'd had him at gunpoint, demanding to know how he'd inherited Potter Inc. Harry had said he had no idea. He'd been approached by some lawyers who'd said, "Hey, kid, you've inherited a company." That had been true, as far as Harry remembered.
Harry had learnt the Potter family motto, 'Leave none behind'. These squibs seemed very unhappy that they had been left behind. Harry had eventually persuaded them that he had nothing to do with that. He'd got home a frightened little boy. These had been his own and he'd been defenceless against them. The family motto meant something. He'd have to use muggle weapons, if he wanted to defend himself against them.
New Year's Eve and Harry was out with his Lycan buddies. He was an honourary Lycan. He didn't really know what that meant. They'd given him a new set of leathers, as he'd outgrown his old ones. They'd found the four priests and the car. They'd found the perfect spot for an ambush. Up a hill and there weren't too many of those and at some traffic lights. One fiendfyre later and the car was a burning wreck with four priests getting cooked to a cinder.
Harry had to give evidence at the trial. The defence counsel tried to get Harry all hot and flustered.
"Isn't your evidence a tissue of lies. When you were examined, they found no evidence of damage. What do you have to say to that?"
"Perhaps that's why Father Bassom was so eager to share me with his friends."
That ended that line of questioning and pretty much sealed the good Father's fate. The Lycans had not burdened James Hammond with the knowledge that those 20 men would not survive long in prison. Lycans took care of their own. They considered James as one of their own.
Harry had not seen Sam or Mark that Christmas. He asked Fred and Claudette why.
"James, darling, you are so big-hearted. I'm afraid Jacob's wife caught a taxi because Jacob was playing poker with Hank and Walter and your Grandpa. The taxi was hit and his wife was killed. Jacob's lost his family. Mark won't speak to him. Sam's gone back to campus and Jacob, well he had to be dragged back into the field."
Harry wrote to each of the Carters. Jacob he told that his wife might have been annoyed with him for playing cards, but she knew that was how the four of them relaxed after their tours. She'd want him to get on with his life or would come back and haunt him, if he didn't. Sam he told that it was how her father and three friends relaxed after their tours of service: It was a tradition. Her mother had known this and knew it relaxed her father. He said the same to Mark.
Mark wrote back that he was a snotty-nosed little kid who knew nothing and understood less. Harry had been saddened by that letter. Sam had thanked him for his concern. Jacob had poured out his grief to him. He'd read that letter to Fred and Claudette.
The Officer in the Apostolic Penitentiary received the reports from San Antonia about James Hammond. He wasn't told about the deaths of the four priests – different department. He, therefore, concluded that the case against James Hammond was closed. James no longer had to attend Confession or be an Altar boy.
Harry asked the Lycans to investigate the car crash in which Jacob's wife had died. They'd got back to him telling him that they would release what they had found out on his 18th birthday. Harry accepted that. He couldn't help but think they were joshing with him.
His Fifth-Grade teams won the city-wide championships and then the State championships. Harry missed out in Fencing, losing in the State championship final. He was extremely proud of his sporting achievements. He'd done them without using magic.
Harry's lawyers came back with some quite complicated instructions. It could only be used for one pregnancy and usually resulted in twins. There were instructions that had to be followed to the letter over three months before the mixture was applied.
Harry tried to cut a corner. Knowing how eager Fred and Claudette were was his excuse. The first batch of ingredients were ruined. They had to start again. Harry apologized profusely. Fred and Claudette began a second time. This time, Harry took no shortcuts. The batch was ready for the end of June 1990. Fred and Claudette readied themselves to swallow it and then have sex. Harry had kept what actually happened from them. He said that he had to mix the ingredients together and then divide the goo into two more of less equal portions and then inset them into the female womb.
Fred and Claudette freaked out. Harry calmed them by saying or almost saying Dr Harry, correcting it to "Dr James knows what he has to do. The biology lessons have prepared me." He took a deep breath and inserted first one lump of goo and then the other. He then went off to clean up. Fred and Claudette decided to have sex anyway. They'd got into the mood and weren't going to waste it over some chemistry experiment. A week later and Claudette tested pregnant. Naturally that meant a night out to celebrate. George was delighted and hugged Harry. Jacob who was on leave with him gave Harry a salute. When Harry got his response correct, Jacob shook him by the hand.
"Look after my little girl, James," Jacob had said. Harry had nodded. He didn't have a clue how he was going to do that. Sam had turned 21 and was a second-class cadet at the Airforce Academy. He laughed as he told his Lycan buddies that request. Harry wasn't to know, but such was his standing with the Lycans in the US that Samantha Carter now had Lycan protection.
Harry went to Summer School again. So did Hermione. They were still close, though Harry felt they weren't as close as in previous years. The Grangers had gone elsewhere. Harry chose Warding as his special interest. Hermione went with Ancient Runes. Paul looked into wandmaking. Two more weeks of magical theory and two more weeks on potions and healing spells. At the end of the Summer School, Harry found Paul, crying.
"What's up, Paul?"
"James, I can't go to Ilvermorny. The scholarship they were going to use for me has gone to our Indian friend. There's nothing left for me."
"Paul, you will go to Ilvermorny, even if you have to take my place," Harry promised him. Harry knew he'd have to go to Hogwarts. The Catholic Church had paid him a million bucks. Harry arranged to have 100000 converted into 10000 draguts and put them in an account for Paul that he'd get on his 11th birthday. Harry put $800000 into 30-year bonds at 8.875%. He opened another account to put the remainder of his money, some $72000 after commission and expenses in the name of James Hammond. He was limited to taking $6000 out of it a year. He thought he could get around that.
In October 1990, Harry received a letter from Hermione. She'd received her Hogwarts letter and a visit from Professor McGonnagal. She also told Harry that Dumbledore was mentoring her and had a device that allowed him to speak to her, teaching her things, when he was nowhere near her. Hermione thought that was wonderful. Harry did not. For a start Snape was out of Azkaban and back teaching at Hogwarts. In the second, if Dumbledore could listen in to her study groups, he could use that information to attack Arcturus and the others. If he did nothing, people would die. Harry had no wish to reveal himself. His family magic agreed. People were going to die as a result of his doing nothing. Harry realised that he was at war. It was probably the reason he got on so well with George.
Harry thought about what Dumbledore still owed him. Around 1.2m galleons for illegal use of his seats and other drawdowns of funds. There was a pensieve and throne to return. A time turner. The books had all been returned. So had his Invisibility Cloak. Harry had read Tales of Beedle the Bard and thought that this cloak was indeed the cloak from the story. He did detection spells on the cloak and around it. He was much better at them, now and this time he was able to catch all of them and remove them.
Harry had Nurmengard and Gellert Grindelwald to deal with. That meant a portkey there and back, reducto and evanesco. He knew the spells and items to make. He'd plan to do it at Christmas. He'd have to use the spells his mother had listed for Godric's Hollow and he'd better check on things in the village and how his mother's portfolio was doing. That would have to wait until after Harry Potter had been declared to people.
Harry wanted to carry on his normal education. He could do his 11+, O Levels and A levels as Harry. He wanted his Grade School and High School Diplomas as James in the States. He wanted his OWLs and NEWTs in the magical world. Hogwarts offered the basic 5: Potions, Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration and A History of Magic. There were electives: Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Muggle Studies, Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. Defense against the Dark Arts and Astronomy were not offered to ICW standard. Hermione had been worried about that. Hermione wanted to take all 12 OWLs. She hoped James would do the same. James wanted to do distance learning or failing that have a school that agreed he could take exams in normal subjects. Hogwarts used quill and parchment. It was so far behind the times. He made a note to ask Fred and Claudette about his planned workload.
Fred and Claudette told James that they were worried about his plans. They agreed with distance learning. If James kept up his grade average, they'd look into his options both in the States and in England. Harry hugged them both.
Then there was the coming war with Iraq. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing it on the news. Even Sam would be going for a month in her final year. Major General George was now in charge of 200 fighters. They were on manoeuvres in Saudi Arabia.
Harry made himself a portkey to Little Whinging and back, so he could take his 11+ and created a PO Box number to receive the result. He was sitting this exam as Harold James Potter. It was a bit of a risk, he told himself. He had fun doing the exam.
Harry created a portkey to take him to Nurmengard and one to bring him back. He didn't leave one laying around where anyone might find it. He went to Nurmengard and found he'd already dealt with Gellert. Why had he forgotten? He saw two books set out for him. Mind magics and Rights of the English Pureblood. He thought studying these and making sure he knew the Hogwarts rulebook in side out would be a good, really good thing.
Checking up on the PO Box, Harry found his results and that he'd got into the best school in the county. He'd done very, very well. He went to the school admissions person and told her that he was moved around a lot, so what he would like to do would be to take his O levels at the school, but study remotely. His PO Box could be used for any communication. They agreed, told Harry the fees involved, which Harry paid at once. He'd take Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Latin, French, Maths, English, English Literature and History.
The school football team had gone undefeated and won the State title again. James Hammond was the MVP quarterback. He went one better in his fencing and won the state title, as well. As he finished winning the state title in basketball, Harry was rushed to the hospital where Claudette was delivered of twin girls, Jenna and Kayla on 29 March 1991. James thanked the girls for delaying their arrival long enough for him to win the state title. Fred couldn't stop laughing. When he recovered enough to tell Claudette, she had a laughing fit as well.
Harry had a surprise visitor that holiday. Sam had come back from the war in Iraq. She'd flown 123.8 hours in combat. Her flight had been one of the most successful. She, Cameron Mitchell, John Sheppard, call sign Joker and Hank Novacs, her wingman, had been too successful. She'd tried to tell Hank to disengage, but he hadn't and had been shot down and killed. She'd been returned to the States. She had her Science degree to finish. Harry was a veteran of the Vampire War and understood how she was feeling and they talked.
"You did everything you could do to get him to withdraw. He didn't. You should never forget him or his achievements, but remember what his refusal to obey orders cost him."
"When did you get so wise, James?"
"Far too many conversations with Grandpa George," Harry deadpanned.
"They did award me these medals."
"Nice and shiny, to be worn with pride."
April 1991 and it was time for James Hammond to move again, with his new family away from Texas to a place of their own. He told Fred and Claudette that he had a secret identity and would have to go away for 10 months of the year. Both of them should get new jobs in LA, say. Promotions for putting up with him and he'd rather be James Hammond than anyone else. Texas should be a place of vacation.
Early May and Fred got a promotion to LA. Claudette got one too, Head of the Civics Department at a school in LA that did distance learning. Later May and Harry's world came crashing down around his ears. Arcturus, Abraxus and three other Blacks had all died of Dragon Pox. Hermione's letter didn't say where Sirius was. She did say that Dumbledore was voting the Black seats and had been made Chief Warlock again and Supreme Mugwump. Hermione was saying this like it was so marvellous. She informed Harry that Harry Potter had been found, safe and well with relatives down in Wales. That was certainly news to Harry. Harry knew he had to find Sirius and fast. Harry knew what Sirius Black looked like. Harry needed his medkit and Mother's wand. Oh, and he had to make a portkey.
Hermione wrote that Luna Lovegood had used the medkit she'd trained them in and spells to save her mother's life. Harry was pleased about that.
Once Harry was ready, he went to the secret Black Spa in the south of France. He found Sirius and cast detection charms. He was able to bring Sirius around. A nurse dashed in, wand at the ready. Harry tried out his legilimens on her and found a tool of Dumbledore. That earned her a reducto and an evanesco. His conversation with Sirius started out calmly and then descended into a 'what do you think you were doing?' that Hermione would have been proud of.
Sirius for his part finally realised that it was Harry who had come for him. Harry explained that now wasn't the time for a reveal. It was a big prank. Harry had Sirius take the House Black lord ring. Sirius, immediately showed an improvement.
"Harry, pup?"
"Why are you here?"
"Dumbledore's idea. The shock of my grandfather's death. He's voting our seats, whilst I recover."
"No he is not. We'll take away his seeming triumph."
"But he found you in Wales, safe and well."
"I've got no relatives in Wales and I've never lived there. Dumbledore did not find me, Sirius, he has no idea where I am. He's the one who sent you Azkaban without a trial in the first place. Don't you remember what he said."
A veil seemed to lift from Sirius' face. He, the real Sirius, surfaced.
"I blood adopted you, pup, made you my heir, I did."
"We'll save that fact for later. Another big prank." Sirius sank back on the bed and passed out. Harry diagnosed his condition and gave the Black House nurses instruction for purging potions and healing potions. Sirius would be fully recovered in a month. Just in time for the July Wizengamot.
Harry portkeyed to 12 Grimmauld Place. He went throw the three spells his mother had left him. Kreacher and the portrait of Walburga Black started to assail his ears.
"4 Blacks have been murdered and the current lord is in a health spa thanks to Dumbledore and all you can do is insult me. I say Black Vengeance. Will you two help me plot it?"
Kreacher began the clean up of 12 Grimmauld Place. The portraits of Phineas Black ended up on the pile of offal, down in the dungeon. Walburga had conducted her own trail. Exacted her own Black Vengeance. The Black residence was taken off the floo network. Yes, they'd help the boy-who-asked.
Harry had to repeat the spells at the former Crouch Manor. Winky was maintaining that. It was in a far better condition than Grimmauld Place. Harry couldn't stay long. He did praise Winky's work. The House-elf swooned. Harry used his portkey to get back home. June was a busy month for him. The last couple of baseball matches were played before term ended. 6th Grade had gone undefeated. They'd reached the City Finals. That was a mad week. The won the City Finals and the following week they defended the state title they had won the previous year and were successful in that.
Harry as James Hammond and his parents Fred and Claudette, not forgetting the newborn twins, Jenna and Kayla, flew into LA and used a car hire to take them to their new home. Harry was relieved when the trucks with all his stuff arrived. Jacob and Sam Carter were there to help them unpack and
put everything in its place. George had been delayed in Iraq.
Harry just about had time to talk with Sam before having to portkey across to France. Sam had graduated Class Valedictorian. She'd been awarded her degree, commissioned in the USAF as a 2nd Lieutenant, formally awarded her medals for service in Iraq and then promoted to Lieutenant. She was going to go study some more at the University of California, Berkeley. She'd read Astronomy and Astrophysics as her Major, with Theoretical Physics as her Minor. She wanted to join Sigma Alpha Mu, but there was a problem.
Harry threw Sam a salute, just like he'd learned with Jacob. Sam laughed and returned the salute.
"What's the problem, Lieutenant?"
"I'm a girl and it's a fraternity, for boys. I'm the only girl on the course."
"Your argument is that you'll miss out on the opportunity to socialise with your classmates, which would be detrimental to your learning experience."
"Where'd you learn such big words?"
"Had an adult use them on me."
"Ah, I see," Sam said. "I'll see if they'll work for me."
The clock just struck 12pm in LA. Harry wished he could sleep, but he had a big day. He took a couple of Pepper-Up potions with him for later. He portkeyed to Sirius. It was 9AM in the south of France. In all of France, actually, but who was counting. Sirius looked great and had finished breakfast. No, Harry would never get used to watching Sirius drink coffee out of a cereal bowl. The man slurped it down.
Sirius announced they needed formal attire for the Wizengamot meeting on that first day of July 1991. Madame Malkins was able to prepare everything in a few hours. Harry and Sirius were able to eat lunch, collect their outfits, apparate to Grimmauld Place – Sirius doing the honours after Harry whispered the location – change, pick up the Agendas, pick up a wand each and floo to the Ministry. The floo had been reactivated just for the outward trip. They made it into Courtroom 10 just in time.
Dumbledore recognized Sirius Black, but not the boy beside him.
"What are you doing here Sirius, my boy? Who is the boy?" Dumbledore asked.
"I'M NOT YOUR BOY, Albus," Sirius declared. Sirius had placed the tip of the wand against his throat and said "Sonorous". Everyone could hear him. "I, Sirius Orion Black, claim the seats in the Wizengamot held by House Black by right of inheritance and by right of conquest."
Two seats made themselves available.
Harry touched the tip of his wand against his throat and said, "Sonorous." "I, Harry James Potter, claim the seats in the Wizengamot held by House Potter by right of inheritance and by right of conquest."
Two seats made themselves available.
For the record, I have no relatives in Wales, I have never lived in Wales, I don't know where Wales is and Dumbles didn't find me. You're in my seat Dumbles. Get out of it."
Everyone in the Chamber started laughing as Dumbledore was unceremoniously dumped on his backside.
"I shall sit voting the Order of Merlin awarded to Peter Pettigrew."
"You sit in a seat given to the betrayer of my parents to Lord Voldemort. I think, not. I move that no order of merlin winners shall hold seats in the Wizengamot." Sirius seconded. The motion passed. As Harry and Sirius took their seats and Augusta Longbottom resumed her stint as Acting Chief Warlock, again, Dumbledore made his way out of the Chamber.
"Lord Black," Amelia Bones began. "We thought we had executed a dozen of You-Know-Who's worst Lieutenants back in 1987. It turns out that was an optical illusion cast by one Albus Dumbledore on the grounds that believed everyone deserved a second chance."
"Did he have the power to make that choice?"
"No, he had been voted out of office."
"We could send them through the Veil."
"Yes," Harry said. "We could have them brought here today and have the Ministry ensure they are thrown through the Veil, one after the other."
The Wizengamot voted to do just that. Dumbledore was almost out of the Chamber, when he said in his saddest voice, "You are going Dark, Harry."
In a voice like thunder, well as much as not quite 11-year-old boy can manage, Harry said, "Never call me by my first name ever again, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore! You do not have my permission and you will never have it."
The twinkle in the eyes that Dumbledore had always worn as part of his grandfatherly act had been replaced by a look of fury similar to that in Harry's eyes.
The Wizengamot descended to the Unspeakables level, where Unspeakables verified that the 12 being thrown through the Veil were those correctly sentenced and executed. Whilst that was going on, Harry went into the Hall of Prophecies to check that the prophecy about him had been destroyed. It hadn't, so Harry destroyed it. He did verify that it still said what it had before. It had.
When the Wizengamot reconvened, Harry asked when Dumbledore was going to be arrested for perverting the course of justice, by preventing execution of sentence back in 1987. Dumbledore had fled the Chamber.
Sirius asked why, in the two meetings since his grandfather had died had the Wizengamot re-imposed restrictions on werewolves and muggleborn that had been repealed 4 years earlier. How had the so-called leader of light with a reputation as a muggle-lover allowed this to happen. Could it be that his reputation was undeserved? Dumbledore's father had died in Azkaban for beating up muggles so badly that they had died.
Harry pointed out that it wasn't Dark to want justice for those murdered by the evil men and women who had today finally paid for their crimes. The Agenda did not run long. The Black Alliance reformed during the session. Harry had not realised that US Pacific time was also advanced an hour for its summer time. Sirius had rounds to make that evening. He'd apologised to Harry. They'd returned to Grimmauld Place, number 12, via the floo. They'd returned the generic Black wands and Harry had changed back into his usual clothes. Harry caught the Knights Bus to Godric's Hollow. The solicitor's was closed. Harry still went into his house. It had been repaired. There were stairs and Harry could walk all around the house. There was now an attic work space and the cellar was a properly defined area with the entrance no longer hidden. There were neutral carpets throughout and modern appliances - cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, phone and the heating system had been fully modernized. The garden out back had been maintained as well. Harry could almost feel the love that had gone into that garden.
Harry then hit his portkey to take him back to the States. He materialised in front of a shocked George Hammond. Harry flashed him a salute. George returned it and said, "Major General George Spencer Hammond reporting for duty, Harry."
Harry heard his name and that he was in Texas. He hadn't reset his portkey.
"I've been the happiest I've ever been as James Hammond. I'm staying James Hammond."
George sat down and indicated Harry should do the same. Harry noticed it was midday.
"I've just come back from Iraq. I asked Norman why we'd stopped fighting. I asked him how he expected an army destroyed as a fighting force was going to win against a similar sized northern force that was still an intact fighting force. He answered 'God Wills.' That's me done as a field commander. I got read into the existence of MACUSA this morning and learned of a certain Boy-Who-Lived." George noticed Harry's disgust at the phrase.
"I'm going to be taking over command of Groom Lake." Harry gave him a blank look. "Area 51. Roswell. The Roswell Greys" Still no response from Harry. "I'll get you some books for your birthday in August."
"July 31st is my real birthday. August 1st my James birthday."
"You're not getting two birthdays! I'll include a book by the once respected Egyptologist Dr Daniel Jackson who believes the pyramids were used as ancient landing pads."
"I doubt he was respected after publishing that theory," Harry said.
"No, turns out he was right."
"Huh?"
Back in 1969, I encountered 4 people from the future -Lt Colonel John(athon) 'Jack' O'Neill (with 2 Ls), Captain Samantha Carter, Dr Daniel Jackson and an alien, Teal'c. I sent a note back requesting that I help them get back to their own time. I did so and they must have made it back."
"You're going to be working on a secret project that's a different one to the one in which you were their commanding officer?"
"That's right."
"I'll bet you played dumb and let the secret projects General rattle off a long list of secret projects before you chose Area 51."
"You've got that right."
"That General must have known your interest would be piqued by the mere mention of all the other secret projects."
"I think he meant for me to dig a bit. The President is up for re-election. He likes to refer to the voluntary sector as a thousand points of light."
"Like Daniel Jackson, he should probably not mention that in any speeches."
George chuckled. "I think Daniel Jackson is doing a book signing in LA in August. Perhaps you should go."
"I doubt I'll have to fight a queue." George now laughed.
Harry added his destination to the portkey and went back to his new bedroom. He heard his mother call upstairs. "Come on, sleepyhead, get up. It's midday on a Monday and you've chores to do. After lunch, of course."
Harry 'got up'. He wrote two letters one to his lawyers telling them to transfer 1% of the company to each of 11 adult Haythorns. Harry would retain 51% of Potter Inc. His second letter was to his contact address for his Lycan friends telling them his new address. He would post them after lunch. Lunch was actually a meet and greet with their new neighbours. These were Hank and Joyce Summers. Hank was a marketing executive, whatever one of those was. Harry had no idea. Joyce was a housewife. They had a daughter, Buffy. She was a cheerleader. She wore a $2000 outfit, as she told Harry, because she just absolutely had to. Harry told her she'd been overcharged. She hadn't taken that well. That was unfortunate, since their respective parents insisted on their spending time together.
Buffy dragged Harry around town, barely acknowledging his existence, ignoring him when out with her fellow cheerleaders. All that changed one afternoon, when James Hammond joined a pickup football game. After evading a defender coming through unblocked, where left guard was supposed to be, Harry asked for someone who could actually play left guard. It turned out the left guard could play quite well.
One of the players had cut out a piece in the local paper about a team in San Antonio that had won State titles in 5th and 6th Grade. Their standout player was one James Hammond. Another of the players told Harry that he'd give this James Hammond a run for his money. Harry had to tell them that would be impossible as he was the James Hammond in the story. Harry found the change in Buffy's attitude to be comical. He was now the centre of her Universe.
Harry had to use his portkey for his PO Box to check on the communications from the English school. There was nothing yet. Dr Jackson's book signing tour was advanced into July – mid July. The price of his book was already discounted by 60%. Harry went along to see him. There was hardly any queue and Dr Jackson looked quite dejected. Harry bought the book The Truth about the Pyramids.
"Who would you like the signing to be made out to?" Dr Jackson asked.
"James Hammond. I'm an orphan."
"Me too."
"I found a great family. Did you?"
"No." Dr Jackson injected quite a bit of venom into that response.
"Did anyone suggest publishing might not be such a good idea?"
"Yes. The curator of the British Museum, a Rupert Giles, did suggest that."
"Kinda looks like a bad idea, doesn't it?"
"It's the truth and it should be out there."
"It is kinda out there. The dictionary I'm getting for my birthday will help with the long words in here. Thanks for signing."
"Thanks for coming, James."
Daniel had signed the book 'To my pal, James. Thanks for believing." Harry did thanks to George. How had Daniel known? Harry did a wandless life detect spell. He thought he detected something. If anyone needed a guardian angel, Daniel did. As he was leaving, he saw a woman he was sure had not been there a moment before. He bowed to her. She seemed to smile at him.
Harry liked the book. It was written in an engaging manner and was quite humorous. It was not the type of book Harry had been expecting from a stuffy academic, as he'd judged Daniel. Daniel, it soon appeared was not a fan of Budge Wallis, revered by all other Egyptologists for all things hieroglyphic and he disagreed with some professor named Kitchen, who was the doyen of Egyptian history of Pharaonic times. Since Daniel was dealing with pre-Pharaonic Egypt, Harry wondered why other Egyptologists were getting their knickers in a twist. Daniel quoted texts proving that the Sardens, Dardanoi and Sicels had attacked before their recorded historical attack and had attacked the land of Ra and not the country usually denoting Egypt. Naturally, the idea that the pyramids were millenia older than Egyptologists said wasn't going to be popular with them. He did what he usually did with something scientific and solidly argued. He wrote and asked Sam. Had Daniel proved his theory? Had those attacking him disproved it?
Sam had needed a non-scientific unit for her course, she decided to do that. She discovered that if the Egyptians had been accurate in their positions of the stars and constellations that Daniel was right for when the pyramids were started. She also found Berossus and Manetho contradictory. Berossus stated after the fall of Ra, a different Ra to the one starting the God List according to Manetho, there was a gap of a century before another Isis and Horus ruled, followed by Set and then the first mortal king uniting the 42 nomes of Upper and Lower Egypt. Sam couldn't use the astronomical data to protect her own credibility. She was able to prove that the Land of Ra, whilst it did include some of what Egypt later had, covered more of the area in the Mediterranean that the Ptolemy's ruled. She also proved that it pre-dated the Old Kingdom. She would later tell Harry about her findings and that she got an A.
Harry bought presents for Susan Bones. He'd neglected her in preference to Hermione. He needed to make it up to her. He turned up at Bones Manor on July 23rd 1991 and Amelia let him stay over. Susan was delighted to meet with Harry Potter and loved her gifts. The Hogwarts letter, therefore arrived, at Bones Manor. Hagrid arrived to take Harry shopping. Hagrid had finished his education at Beauxbatons and decided that Dumbledore deserved a second chance. Harry made sure he got his Vault Key off Hagrid before going into Gringotts. Harry demanded to see his account manager. He soon got to see Splintaxe, whilst Hagrid went off to do something top secret with Vault 713.
Splintaxe could not explain why Harry had not had communication with the bank. He could not explain why Dumbledore had been allowed to withdrawn money, when the Bank knew Sirius was his Guardian.
Splintaxe couldn't explain why Hogwarts was listed as the withdrawer of 5000 galleons, when the money had already been paid, before he was born, out of the main Potter account. Dumbledore was listed as the authoriser. The withdrawer of 20000 galleons was listed as one Arthur Weasley under Dumbledore's authorisation. Splintaxe had no explanation as to why Dumbledore had been allowed to keep hold of the Vault key. Splintaxe had no explanation as to why Dumbledore received Potter account information despite having no authorisation. Splintaxe claimed that treaties between the Goblins and Wizards permitted Dumbledore's actions. Harry said, bluntly that they did not.
Gringotts had been paid by the Potters to deliver the Key and accounts to he, Harry Potter. A transaction Gringotts had not performed. Harry wanted a summary of the action status of all his accounts and the transactions on his Vault account 687 itemised. Harry demanded Gringotts state at their cost the Potter items still in Dumbledore's illegal possession, Harry would visit Gringotts for account information as per his parents original deal. Gringotts would return the money illegally taken from Vault 687, at their cost. Gringotts would destroy all account information provided to Dumbledore, at their cost. Harry prohibited any further withdrawals made or authorised by Dumbledore and that withdrawals were only permitted by Harry James Potter, irrespective of who had his Vault Key.
Gringotts threw in a bottomless bag in at no charge, Harry demanded Dumbledore got no further account information or expenditure list showing Harry's withdrawals or what he spent the money on. Splintaxe wondered what he got out of all this. Harry told him he got to keep his head. Gringotts presented him with a list of items Dumbledore still had, summaries of his accounts and all transactions on Vault account 687. Dumbledore had possessed Harry's Key since Halloween 1981. Gringotts confirmed that and in writing.
Harry withdrew 1000 galleons. Hagrid presented him with an owl, cage and some treats. Harry was not happy to receive a pet he had not chosen. He bought his course books, clothes and wand. It was clear that Ollivander knew who You-Know-Who was, but would not tell him, despite being asked. Harry's wand was 11" holly and phoenix feather. Harry told him that should Dumbledore learn about Harry's wand, he would declare a blood feud with House Ollivander. Harry also bought the wand care kit and holster. Hagrid stepped in to stop Harry from buying more books than were on the list. Harry decided to let it slide. He was going to be here tomorrow, as well. Hagrid wasn't. Harry wasn't buying the trunk or telescope. The products were far too inferior to MACUSA's products. Harry already had a brilliant telescope.
Amelia Bones was delighted to receive Harry's written confirmation that Albus Dumbledore had held Harry's Vault Key for nearly nine years without permission. Sirius was also staying over and he promised to help Harry shop. Harry needed clothes befitting his rank. Harry named the owl Hedwig.
Harry's trip on the morrow was first to Madame Malkin's. All his clothes required the Potter crest and Harry James Potter put on them. Sirius then bought far superior clothing for Harry. Harry had a very good trunk. Six compartments. Harry needed one for each of his schools, one for the medkit and Sirius insisted one for Quidditch (and his ordinary clothing). Harry had done his best to ignore the sport. The sixth was his secret compartment for things like his invisibility cloak, broom, money bag and something called the Marauders Map.
Harry bought all the Roy Lock books and his new one and Sirius promised to sue this Roy Lock. Harry bought the muggleborn books including the Hogwarts rulebook. Harry included Hogwarts: A History in his purchases. They were three books dealing with 20th century Wizarding history. Harry needed Etiquette for Wizards. He'd already got the MACUSA version. He picked up books on Mind Magics, Warding and making Portkeys. They were all NEWT level. He bought all the books. He'd written all over his copy of Tales of Beedle the Bard that he needed a new one. Quills, ink and parchment purchases followed. Sirius presented Harry with a Nimbus 2000 and a full set of Quidditch pads. Harry was used to wearing pads. The uniform, Sirius had done up in Gryffindor colours.
Harry ventured into muggle England and made sure his two PO Boxes were set up. One was to receive his course work and one the school was to use to collect work. Harry had to tell Sirius what he was doing. Sirius was impressed. Harry had a trip back to the States to make.
Claudette was overjoyed to learn Harry would learn French. She promised to write to him in French. Harry bought a magical bottomless bag in the MACUSA quarter. He picked up the finest Ilvermorny used cauldron or rather one the school used. He picked up Magical Potions 1 by Cygnus Sacriodores that was ten better than Jigger's tired old offering. He picked up a set of cutting knives and stirrers for his brand new potions kit. The ingredients shop recognised him now to know what he needed and set out the Ilvermorny course requirements for him.
On his birthday he received a Physics Kit, Chemistry kit and Biology kit. He got a watch that showed the various times the US zones were behind GMT. Harry got writing implements like a cartridge pen and biros. He wrote a letter to Paul hoping his time at Ilvermorny was going to be brilliant. He posted that letter. He explained to Fred and Claudette how he'd send the bag back for his textbooks, workbooks and instructions for the passwords for them to send it back to him with the next assignments. Next day was a work day, so they said their goodbyes to James. He told them he'd see them at Christmas.
Sirius didn't press Harry on where he'd been. He hoped that Harry would come to trust him enough to tell him. It was the 1st of August and the Wizengamot meeting. Harry and Sirius now had their proper wands and attended in their finest. Unfortunately, Dumbledore was present, representing the Weasley seat by proxy. Everyone knew who wore the trousers in the Weasley household and it wasn't Arthur.
Regent Augusta Longbottom was confirmed as Chief Warlock. Ludo Bagman was reconfirmed as Britain's representative to the ICW. The laws passed during Dumbledore readoption were repealed. Dumbledore was eventually coaxed into detailing the work of the ICW at its last meeting.
Augusta remained Regent for House Longbottom despite Frank and Alice's return four years previously. Neville had a sister, Celia, now coming up to three years old. The pair had secretly completed their Auror training. Only Amelia knew. For the past year they had been tracking down the Carrows in France. They were hopeful of completing their task before Celia's third birthday.
The votes for the new noble houses were relatively straightforward. House Lovegood was added without division. Xeno was well liked, even by the Dark. Minister Fudge thought about challenging, but his Senior Undersecretary, untastefully dress in a pink cardigan, persuaded him not to so do. House O'Flaherty was a popular choice, as it added an Irish pureblood House to the ranks of the Wizengamot.
Dumbledore's suggestions of House Prince, House McGonagall and House Dumbledore were all defeated. The Black Alliance proposed House Clearwater. Humphrey Clearwater was a muggleborn and represented the first muggleborn to ever hold a Wizengamot seat. House Greengrass, as part of the Black Alliance proposed two of their allied Houses, the Verini who had originally hailed from Lombardy and Atossi of Florentine extraction. Both had impeccable pureblood status.
House Malfoy had not tried to gain a Wizengamot seat, which turned quite a few heads. Lord Selwyn had done his calculations. The Black Alliance held 19 seats, his own Dark faction held 18, there was the Hogwarts seat, this year represented by a pair of Slytherins and a dozen Light wizards who generally followed Dumbledore's instructions, though not this day. The execution of Death Eaters had reduced several of the Houses to no known heirs. Yaxley, Travers, Rowle, Rosier, LeStrange, Carrow and Burke had no male heirs. LeStrange and Rowle had female Regents. Bulstrode and Parkinson were down to an heiress each. Very few Death Eaters were married and fewer had heirs.
Lord Selwyn was drawn from his reverie by Lord Potter's statement.
"I, Lord Potter, do hereby given notice of a pretrial to be held September 1st 1991 in Courtroom 10 before the entire Wizengamot of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore on the charge of Line Theft against House Potter."
"You can't do that," Dumbledore said.
"That was dealt with four years ago," the Senior Undersecretary said.
"It was not done four years. I can do it. It is the right of a Lord of Noble and Most Ancient House to bring this matter before the Wizengamot and solely the Lord's right and privilege. Lord Black used the charge to devastating effect against House Crouch. That was done four years ago. This is done today."
The book on Rights of the English Pureblood had given Harry the idea of doing this. The book on Mind Magics helped protect him against the attempt made by Dumbledore to mind rape him. His Lord ring was not quite up to the job. That was not how Harry thought it would work. Sirius worked out what Dumbledore was doing and he let out a bellow that froze the room.
After the session was over, Sirius demanded that Amelia Bones told Arthur Weasley to attend and vote his seat. Amelia promised she would tell Arthur he either voted his seat and quit the Order of the Phoenix, permanently or he'd lose his job at the Ministry.
As a surprise for Harry, Remus Lupin met up with them and accompanied them back to Grimmauld Place. Lupin's clothes had seen better days. His suit was second hand and fraying. He did have a sturdy trunk. His boots were on the verge of giving out or up, Harry couldn't decide which.
Kreacher cooked. It was a decent meal. Harry had not had partridge before and was undecided whether he wanted any more after the meal. Jelly as afters was much more acceptable.
"What did you wish to see me about?" Remus asked.
"Hiring you as a tutor for Harry." Sirius was direct and to the point. Harry recognised something familiar. Remus was a lycan. That meant big trouble for Harry. Harry needed him as more than a tutor.
"I need a steward for House Potter-Gaunt."
"That's a good idea, Harry. 500 galleons a month, accommodation, wolfsbane and meals for tutoring Harry. 1000 galleons a month for being Harry's Steward. I'm paying. 2000 galleons a month as Steward for House Black. No contact with Dumbledore and his Order and resignation from it if you're a member are the only restrictions."
"When can I start?" Remus was almost pleading.
"Immediately, I'll draw up the contracts, now. Join me in the study in 10 minutes." Sirius went off into the study. Harry and Remus were left in uncomfortable silence.
"You know what I am?" Remus asked.
"A lycan," Harry answered. Remus seemed shocked.
"Is that why you wanted me as your Steward?" Remus asked.
"Not just that reason. You were a friend of my family. I need to know what they were like. I have no pictures. No-one wrote to me." Harry said that last part,
Remus frowned. "I know lots of people wrote to you. Are you saying you didn't receive any letters?"
"Not a one," Harry answered.
"I'll make sure I'll pursue that issue," Remus said. The pair then went to join Sirius in the study. Remus signed his contracts, gave his oaths and then went up to his room that Kreacher had prepared.
"Suppose, pup, you'd care to tell me why you have launched an attack on Dumbledore, before we're ready."
"Define ready, Sirius? Dumbledore has rebuilt his reputation. That is all he's got. The school I'm going to is a shit school. DADA and Astronomy are not up to ICW standards. DADA I can understand. It's not had a professor stay longer than a year since the 60s. I don't understand Astronomy as Sinistra is one of the best around. Perhaps Augusta can get some answers from Dumbledore tomorrow? I don't understand how Snape has been able to set a requirement for an O at Potions' OWL to advance to NEWT, when Hogwarts Charter Article 49 paragraph 4 states that if a student obtains an EE or better in any subject, they can progress to do the NEWT in that subject."
"That's all very well and I'll get Augusta to check up on these matters. It doesn't advance line theft."
"Dumbledore took Potter items he had no business taking and on some of those have been returned. He owes money for using Wizengamot seats that were never his to use. He never told my father that his parents and aunt and uncle were dead. Dad never knew he was Lord Potter and could have moved to Potter Manor. Dumbledore took the bodies of my parents and had then buried in a muggle grave rather than at Potter Manor where you'd buried Charlus, Dorea, Fleamont and Euphemia. Their Wills were only read four years ago after a lengthy delay. You buried them, but I'll bet you can't remember. You didn't tell my dad that he was Lord Potter. Who do you think confounded you? Dumbledore took me out of a crime scene. Hagrid said he was told to take me to Hogwarts. Dumbledore took my blood to use in the wards. Hagrid refused your request to take me off him. He had no business doing that. I was left overnight and found on the porch on November 2nd 1981. The Longbottoms were not attacked until November 6th. Dumbledore already knew they were going to be attacked. All so I could be left with magic hating muggles. I was treated worse than a house-elf.
I complained regularly to muggle authorities about my treatment at the hands of the Dursleys. When I went back to find out how their investigations were going, they hadn't got a clue who I was and paperwork had gone missing. I'd check your files, too, if I were you."
"I'll do that."
"Why doesn't Remus look like he received the bequest from the Wills of my parents of 25000 galleons? Where did it go?"
"No, it doesn't look like Remus has received much money in the last four years." Sirius had to agree with Harry. "Remus lost his land, when his father died. I'll have to check what happened to it."
"At least his property was not taken as a national monument."
"What!" exclaimed Sirius. "That was where your parents wanted me to raise you, if anything happened to them."
"Dumbledore probably told them it was what my parents wanted. He lies a lot. We should take Kreacher along to Gringotts tomorrow and check you family Vault for Dark objects you might have got back from Bellatrix. I need to go off and check something, too." Harry had his sickles for the Knights Bus to Godric's Hollow. It was time to have a chat with his solicitor. 11 years old was a fairly significant milestone in the life of a wizard in magical Britain. Had Harry not been an orphan, 11 would have been when he could claim the heir ring, assuming he was an heir. He could now claim the ring as Heir Black. For political reasons, he wasn't going to."
"We have to visit the ministry to register Remus Lupin as our Steward and Tutor to you. We can do that. How do you feel about doing an interview with the Daily Prophet?"
"I'll do one with them. It should keep the story going."
"The Boy-Who-Lived against the greatest wizard since Merlin."
"It has a suitable David versus Goliath meme to it." Harry said.
"Who?" Sirius asked.
"Never mind," Harry said.
The trip to the Ministry, the following day passed off without incident. In Gringotts, Harry asked if Gringotts how many letters the bank had sent to James Potter informing him that he was Lord Potter and what response they had to them.
Gringotts had sent three letters and received no reply. They'd give Harry a copy of each for 50 galleons. Harry agreed to pay the goblins 50 galleons total only for the three letters informing James Potter of his becoming Lord from Vault 687. The Goblins provided him with the copies of those three letters.
Harry left Sirius and Remus in Gringotts and went to see his solicitor in Godric's Hollow. The Knights Bus was very uncomfortable. The solicitor was open and in. Harry did not have too long a time to wait.
"Ah, Lord Potter, you are looking every inch a Lord. You're now 11 years old and it's time for you to receive a few truths. Your birthname is Harrison. Your parents told some people it was Henry or Harold. It is to trap them. Anyone who uses those names is not a friend.
Your father remined me to remind you that any blank sheet of paper may have words on them. The words 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good' work on the Marauders Map – ask Sirius. They will not work on the paper. Miss out 'no'.
Your parents did not trust Dumbledore. They believed he had set them up to die. Your parents could not end the Fidelius on the property. They left you instructions on what to do. The Potters own two magic schools. One in America and one in Australia, should you need an alternative school. Read the rulebook aka the Hogwarts Charter thoroughly, especially the section on Legacy students. Your parents say you should hire Ted Tonks. He's a lawyer capable of acting in both realms. I'll provide the contact details later. You should use your mother's funds. Ted accepts pound sterling. Give your permission, I shall send off the paperwork today."
"Do they say why I should hire Ted Tonks?"
"Only that he has information and skills that you will need."
"Okay, I give my permission."
"That's £10000 out of an account with over a quarter of a million in it."
"I have a feeling I'm going to be spending most of that account."
"I think you may be right. You have a House-Elf by the name of MichaelAngelo. You will need to use the full name to do a personal bond. Have the House-elf guide you through the process and tell you the difference between the types of bond.
Your grandfather Fleamont Potter built up Fleamont Enterprises, having inherited it from his mother. On James' 17th birthday certain elements of that were transferred to James. All of the business in Australia were transferred, included the magical school out there. That's where all the personal hygiene products are made. The personnel and house-elves in Magical Britain were moved out there. The banking for that is performed by one of the Australian Dwarven banks. They operate somewhat differently to Gringotts. They were told, on notice of James Potter's demise not to contact you. You would contact them no earlier than your 11th birthday. You'll already know that you can't access Fleamont Manor or the account until you turn 17. They will be in contact with me. All you need to do is sign the note I'll give you later, for this clause to have been met.
You'll have been told that Potter Manor was destroyed in the war. That's another lie spread by Dumbledore. I can assure you as your squib Great Uncle that this is just not the case. It's still there and being maintained by the House Potter House-elves. You know you can't access either the Manor nor the account until you turn 21. There's a reason for that. I hope we'll both be around for that milestone.
Charlus bought James a house in Hogsmeade on his 17th birthday, which he never used. When I say bought, it's on a 999 year lease, already paid for. May I suggest you avail yourself of it. I admit, I haven't visited it. May I suggest you allow the Bones' to use your snowy owl Hedwig and buy another Sable one you can use for me and your House Black business. I'd recommend a full kneazle familiar as your one pet allowed at Hogwarts.
You do have property and money in dispute with Magical Ireland."
"I'm not interested in that. If there were licenses to breed dragons or other animals, I might be."
"No, there is nothing like that in your magical Irish possessions."
"Let the Irish have it. No compensation, in this instance. I'd much rather have good relations with Magical Ireland, if I want to have business relations with them later."
"I shall get on with that." The solicitor wasn't impressed that Harry was just dismissing so much without finding out what he was giving up. From a long-term business standpoint, it was exactly the right move to make.
"Your parents loved you so very much. However, and this will hurt you to learn, they were never meant to be together. Your mother was supposed to marry Severus Tobias Snape and your father was supposed to marry Marlene McKinnon. For the first six years your mother loathed your father. Then, suddenly, as Head Boy and Head Girl they became inseparable. Charlus looked into the matter. He discovered the result would be you – a Chosen One. That's a difficult destiny to begin with and one that is an impossible burden to shoulder aged 11.
Your mother and father had a honeymoon in an exotic location and went to see a Seer. They wanted to know they'd live a happy and long life. They were not happy to learn they had been doused with potions and would die young. They came back from their honeymoon determined to divorce. Charlus told them to stay married and used the House ring to compel their obedience. Sorry, Harry, the House Lord ring is not just for the nice things in life.
Your parents made the best of things and found they did actually like each other, whatever the potions. In January 1981, Lily discovered she was pregnant. Naturally, they took measures to conceal this. Now I've a decent sized family and grandchildren and we dug your mother up after Dumbledore buried her. I'm sure the vicar believes it was a lovely, moving service. One of mine is a midwife, who usually delivers children at home. You have a baby sister. She's somewhere in the adoption system. I am sorry I don't know where. I believe she gave the child to an orphanage. She deliberately kept that knowledge to herself."
"They did love me?" Harry looked like he was about to cry.
"They did. More than their own lives. Charlus never told me what he told them. Their love was always in their eyes, whenever they came to see me and brought you with them. I do know that look, of course. I've used it a lot myself."
"Who knew about my sister or the pregnancy?"
"Alice and Frank Longbottom, of course. They are no threat being in that coma."
"What coma?" Harry could act.
"They were attacked a few days after you and your parents, after Dumbledore told them it was safe to come out of hiding. They were left in a coma. Remus Lupin didn't come round much. He went away on a mission for Dumbledore. Sirius was finishing his auror training and being thrown into the deep end against the Death Eaters. In the whole of 1981, Sirius came around three times. Dumbledore and Pettigrew were monthly visitors until the Fidelius. Pettigrew attended you everyday until Halloween. Dumbledore was there that evening. I don't know when he arrived."
Harry had always wanted a sister and now he had three. He was in heaven, already. The solicitor looked at him and understood. It was the look his brothers had never given him. This was a better Potter.
Does that conclude our business?" Harry asked.
"When you go up to the house and are in the garden, you should try summoning the Peverell lord ring. Charlus never dared. There's a curse on it that if you are found unworthy, your hand will turn black and the curse will soon kill you. If you stand by that horrible plinth, perhaps the ring will shatter it."
"Well, that's a cheery thought," Harry said. He took the packet of information from his solicitor and the keys to his property in Godric's Hollow. He was soon there. He summoned MichaelAngelo. The House-elf appeared. The House-elf explained the bonding, which Harry did as Harrison James Potter. Angelo explained that he was bonded to Hogwarts with a commercial bond and that he'd been the one to put on a mail redirect on Harry. He recommended against turning it off as that would expose him.
Harry asked Angelo to prevent any other House-elves being able to get on the property or in it and include all other animal creatures, especially any phoenix. Angelo was happy to do that. Angelo would also maintain the property, when his Hogwarts duties would allow.
Harry decided to call the Peverell Lord ring. "I, Harrison James Potter, being a trueborn descendant of Ignotus Peverell do hereby claim the Lord ring of House Peverell by right of inheritance and by right of conquest."
The ring came as if by magic, Harry chuckled to himself. It did impact the plinth, shattering it. Harry picked up the ring and vanished the remains of the plinth. He put it on. An hour later he awoke, with all his limbs the colour they had been. The house-elf went outside to wait for Harry. Harry hid the packet of information. He should really have read it. He promised himself he would, soon. Then he went to get elf-ported back to Diagon Ally. Sirius found him outside the pet store.
"Sirius, I think I should let Hedwig be used by the Bones'. I'll buy a Sable owl for use with you and my familiar will be a kneazle." Remus and Kreacher had already returned to Grimmauld Place.
Sirius bought the animals and they apparated back to Grimmauld Place. Harry did not like the side- along version. It was almost as bad as the Knights Bus. Obviously, the Sable owl got named Sable. Harry went through quite a few names for the kneazle before hitting on Algernon. He also called him Tiddliwinks or Mr Tiddles. The kneazle hated that name.
They had lunch together and then went back to the Daily Prophet for that interview. Harry laid it on a bit thick that Dumbledore had had him removed from a crime scene and refused to have him handed over to his godfather. Rita had asked him about his fame.
"Well, Rita, I'm sure you and any reader in my position would trade all the fame for their parents back. I'm also sure my parents would want me to seek justice for them and all those murdered by the evil Death Eaters and their supporters and be a true champion of the rights of muggleborn and magical creatures that are of near human intelligence. You can junk the 'near' in that last sentence."
"Lord Potter, what do you say to those purebloods who might be concerned about your position?"
"I was shocked and dismayed that Wizarding Etiquette is not taught at Hogwarts. I'm going to spend a month cramming it, because I never came across it before, being muggle raised. I am obviously proud of my magical heritage."
Sirius put an end to the interview, at that point. Rita Skeeter was well pleased.
Back at Grimmauld Place, Sirius said, "Pup, that was like listening to both James and Lily. I'm very proud." Sirius was seriously concerned about the level of poise Harry was showing. Both he and Remus didn't like Harry just going off on his own. There really were people out to get him.
Kreacher had found another item like the locket and Remus and Sirius now looked at one another in total shock. Both recognised the two items as Founders items. They knew this from trying to find them at Hogwarts. Sirius turned to Harry and said,"
This is how You-Know-Who survived. These are Horcrux. You split your soul and place it in a container sealed by the murder of an innocent. We'd like you to destroy both of these using fiendfyre."
They made their way into the dungeons till they came to the destroy dangerous objects area. Harry had the sense he needed to open the locket with parseltongue.
"Open," Harry said in parseltongue." "Fiendfyre." The objects were destroyed. Wisps of black almost smoke dispersed. Harry recognised this. Sirius and Remus drew their wands on Harry. Harry sighed. He went upstairs and eventually into the study. He sat down. Sirius and Remus looked at him, expectantly.
"When I was 5, I started primary School. I didn't know my name was Harry. The teacher asked me what I was called at home. I said I was called Freak or Boy where I lived. That earned me a beating and several days without food or water in my cupboard under the stairs. The headmaster called me a liar. I showed him my back criss-crossed with welts. The teacher who tried to help me got 'moved on'. Her replacement was no good. With other kids complaining, we got the Head and that teacher fired.
The investigations into the Dursleys went nowhere. I realized that I couldn't rely on adults to help me. I knew I had to act as an adult or how I thought an adult should act. I eventually got the better of the Dursleys or so I had thought. They had me adopted. Best thing that ever happened. No, I won't tell you. What you don't know can't be plucked from you minds.
I came across a book that showed me my family tree. There were Gaunts mixed in and they were descended from Salazar Slytherin, a parselmouth. That's where I get that talent from. My first accidental magic, when I was angry was fiendfyre, though I didn't know what it was called back then. I loved how the flames took on shapes and trying to control them became a passion. I have control over them. I've worked on not getting angry."
"How many other ones are out there Remus?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know, Sirius. That's quite a horrible tale you told. I believe you, cub," Remus said.
"I've learnt that Pettigrew looked after me each day after the Fidelius was done. I think he was trying to turn me into one of those things. I think I came across another of those things, recently. Both are gone, now."
"You can't make one out of living flesh," Sirius said.
"Maybe You-Know-Who didn't get the memo. Why do you call him You-Know-Who?"
"He made a Taboo out his name. Mention it and his goons showed up. We used it to lay traps for them in the later stages of the war and then killed them."
"We made a map of Hogwarts that we used in our pranks that used a similar principle," Remus said. "I lost it. Confiscated by Filch. He's a nasty piece of work and a Squib. You'll need to get a detention with him and I'll teach you accio Marauders map to get it."
"Four of them, Moony. That means he went for 7."
"Yes, Padfoot, he was going for that magical number. He wouldn't have had much of a soul left after doing that."
"Nor much in the way of humanity."
"Ollivander knows who he was before. You should have seen how his eyes lit up, when I touched my wand. I'll bet Dumbles knows I have this wand. Your grandfather probably knew, too." Harry hoped he'd nudged them to investigate.
"What do you think the other three are, Remus?"
"One has to be a living creature in preparation for Harry's."
"That means a snake."
"And there are two other Founders Items long missing."
"I can't see him being able to touch the Sword, which leaves the Diadem or Tiara, Remus."
Harry made sure to remember those words. He'd look them up in his dictionary. Harry was thinking about the other one. He'd kept a Diary for two years before he'd left his place of imprisonment. He still had it. It was in his mother's trunk. Perhaps Voldie had kept one, too, if he was also an orphan and badly treated.
Albus Dumbledore had had another of those Governor meeting in which nobody did as he expected. First, it was Snape being forced to admit students with an EE to NEWT potions. Forced by the Hogwarts rulebook. Then he'd spent a great deal of time explaining why the ICW DADA and Astronomy exams were unnecessary for British magicals. He had explained patiently why he had not called in a curse breaker. He had not found any curse using the wards of Hogwarts and curse breakers would not be able to find one.
Albus had an intricate scheme to test Potter and Tom this year and he did not want the DMLE wandering all over Hogwarts. He had the mail redirects set to act against mail sent out with certain words in them.
Astronomy had been stuck about 30 years back. He had no intention of admitting the muggles had reached the Moon. Albus had no wish to admit the muggles were better than wizards and witches.
Albus had already recruited Hermione Granger by offering to mentor her. He only had to get Ron Weasley in position as Harry Potter's best friend and he could cut Harry off from any other Hogwarts student. Molly had wanted a price met, the Granger girl for Ron. Dumbledore didn't care either way. She would improve the Weasley stock. Arthur had resigned a second time and told Albus he could not use his seat. Albus would have to carry through on his threat to demand immediate payment of the 20k galleon debt. As House Weasley could not, he'd gain a vassal House.
The line theft case against him would go no where after his allies in the Ministry secured the transcripts from 4 years ago. He reckoned the odds were 80:20 in his favour.
Albus was disappointed that Remus was not on his side anymore. Albus had managed to prevent the bequest reaching him and Remus' family property had been sold by the Ministry, whilst Remus had been stranded in Australia. The Ministry could be counted on to cause more difficulty for the Boy-Who-Lived. Albus now regretted creating that super identity for Harry Potter. Still, Hagrid had started it, Albus had just helped it grow. It was supposed to boost him, not Harry Potter.
Harry Potter was feeling like he had to go back to LA and pick up his diary. Perhaps he could serialise it in the Daily Prophet? Yes. A little everyday snippet from the Boy-Who-Lived, culminating on August 31st. Really sticking it to Dumbledore.
The following day, Harry was back in his room in LA. Fred and Claudette were overjoyed to see him. His sisters gurgled too on seeing him. He found $2000 in his room. He was not sure how that had got there. He had a letter from Paul thanking him for Ilvermorny and how he'd miss James. Harry knew what he'd meant. Ilvermorny was one of the best three school in the world. If Paul went on to teach, he would be able to teach anywhere. Paul's dreams might change of course over the next seven years.
Outside, Harry was ready for the beach. He saw Buffy. He had an idea.
"Hi, Buffy, I need your help."
"Oh yeah. What about?"
"Fashion. I've some time coming up in Court. I need something with the wow factor. I've $2000 to spend."
"Sure James. I know the best things."
James got dragged around the LA stores and ended up with a great ensemble. Buffy talked about a timeless classic. It was just the look Harry wanted. Harry returned via portkey to Grimmauld Place. He had to explain where he'd been. He explained he had retrieved his diary. Sirius and Remus liked the idea about putting extracts from it in the Daily Prophet. They didn't like Harry disappearing without telling them where he was going. Sirius and Remus had a curious expression on their faces, when they were reading the diary. Harry thought the look was what somebody planning a prank would look like.
They sent off a section to the Daily Prophet every day. Harry started his lessons with Remus. Harry had to remember not to get everything right first time. Lily had noted down the correct wand movements for every spell and how to pronounce every spell. James had told him how to adjust the power of each and every spell. Their notes in the books had. Harry had never talked with them, not since that Halloween and he didn't remember talking with them. Now, his thoughts were rambling and he never let them do that. It was childish. Then Harry remembered that he should be childish, if he wanted to avoid having more 'serious' talks in the future.
The Daily Prophet printed Harry's extracts. The letters in the Daily Prophet were pretty even for and against for the first few days. Then they started favouring Harry. Dumbledore's stock crashed and burned. The final extract explained how Harry had been put up for adoption and would be unknown and would find out about his parents and gain justice for them against all who had wronged them. The sections vowing vengeance had not been included, as not being what a six-year-old writing a diary should be thinking.
On the morning of Sunday September 1st 1991, Harry wondered who owned the Daily Prophet, The Quibbler, Witch Weekly and the WWN. He could not do what he wanted to, if other hostile parties controlled the Press. Harry sent Sable to Ted Tonks with a letter asking for that information.
Over the month of August both Sirius and Remus had separately called him Harrison. Harry allowed himself to relax a little around them. Today he put on his Court Clothes and House Robes. He wasn't able to keep anything down at either breakfast or lunch. That didn't surprise either Sirius or Remus.
When Chief Warlock Augusta Longbottom banged the gavel at 2PM to begin the session, Harry was ready for his task. Naturally, Dumbledore was not taking this sitting down. He didn't have a seat on the Wizengamot, anymore. He still tried to look like he owned the place.
"Madam Chief Warlock, this charge is preposterous, please dismiss it."
"Please begin your case, Lord Potter," Augusta said loudly.
"Thank you, Madam Chief Warlock. Secure the prisoner. I begin the pretrial hearing of line theft committed against a Noble and Most Ancient House by Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."
"Harry, I am not a prisoner," Dumbledore rebuked Harry.
"This is a pretrial of a line theft against a Noble and Most Ancient House. That makes you a prisoner. I have told you many times not to call me by my first name. You do not and never will have my permission to do that. I've tried to be slow to wrath, but that's over now. Call me by my first name, again and I will kill you.
Let's start with the prophecy Trelawney is said to have given in your presence and the presence of others. I note the record does not include statements by anybody else other than you. I direct Madam Amelia Bones, Director of the DMLE, to take statements from everyone else present and to prohibit you from interfering in any way with those statements.
"Does Sybil Trelawney remember the prophecy she gave?"
"No, she does not."
"How long did it take for Trelawney to complete her prophecy."
"About 20 seconds."
"Anything happen during that prophecy giving?"
"No. At the end a spy of Voldemort's, we know now was brought in side. He only heard the first couple of lines of the prophecy."
"Who was it?"
"Severus Snape."
"The interview was being held in the Hog's Head. Why wasn't it being held in Hogwarts? Isn't that where interviews are conducted?"
"Well, yes, usually."
"Why not that time?"
"I don't recall the reason."
"Considering the Hogwarts Charter aka The Rulebook states that all interviews shall take on Hogwarts premises or grounds, that is not good enough Mister Dumbledore."
"Severus only heard part of the prophecy."
"How so? You've stated Trelawney completed the prophecy, so Snape must have heard the entire prophecy. How could it be that only part of it made its way to You-Know-Who. You dealt with the matter by taking Snape into a room and came out and told everyone that you'd obliviated Snape. That's how it went down, isn't it Mister Dumbledore."
"No that is not the case. That's Lord Dumbledore to you."
"The meeting at the Hog's Head was not a job interview at all, was it Mister Dumbledore? It was a meeting of your Order of the Phoenix. Trelawney gatecrashed it, because you had held a job interview with her and had rejected her. In Hogwarts."
"No, it is not the case. It was job interview and Snape managed to hold onto part of his memory. I don't know how he did it. I am Lord Dumbledore, address me as such."
"Now the Hog's Head is in Hogsmeade, which is part of magical Scotland, not magical Britain. Now magical Scotland has kept the delightful law prohibiting English/British wizards and witches from owning property and land in magical Scotland. So, it puzzled me how you as a Lord in magical Britain could own a property in magical Scotland."
"I don't own The Hog's Head. My brother Aberforth does."
"Scottish Aurors say the deed is made out to an A Dumbledore. They've seen enough of your writing to identify your signature. They took a statement from Aberforth at the time in August 1979. He confirmed what I have just put to you in that statement.
That still left me wondering how a Lord in magical Britain could own a property in magical Scotland. I was reading A History of Magic and I came across references to the Gunpowder Plot in 1605."
"How is this relevant to your so-called case of line theft?"
"I'm getting to that Mister Dumbledore. For those of you who don't know, the Gunpowder Plot 1065 was a Catholic plot to murder King James VI of Scotland and I of England. It failed. You will be surprised to learn that there was magical help for this plot. This was exposed by three Houses - Black, Longbottom and Potter. This marks the beginning of the alliance between Houses Potter and Longbottom.
In addition to various magicals who were exposed, one House that was then a member of the Wizengamot was exposed. That of House Dumbledore. The three pushed for the execution the then Head of House Dumbledore, the expulsion of House Dumbledore from the Wizengamot with the provision that no member of the traitorous House Dumbledore could ever hold a seat on the Wizengamot in their own right, stripped the House of its distinction as a Noble House and heavily fined the disgraced House. House Dumbledore swore revenge. This information is held in the records of the Wizengamot.
Dumbledore Castle was in Godric's Hollow. The Potters built a property there to act as a Watchtower against the House of Traitors. Albus Dumbledore still owns Dumbledore Castle, though it has become a ruin in the near century since he last lived there.
At the time, the Banking Houses in magical Scotland and magical Britain stopped allowing House Dumbledore to bank with them. The government of magical Scotland refused to have any official dealings with the Dumbledores ever again. The government of magical Scotland refuses to have anything to do with Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress, because she's a Scot who went to Hogwarts.
You used an illegal Wizengamot law to remove Charlus Potter from the Wizengamot and voted the Potter seat from 1946 onwards. I shall be looking at the record to see who the mover and seconder were.
Dumbledore knew Snape was a Death Eater. You also knew in August 1979 that the forces of You-Know-Who were about to win the first wizarding war. You knew wrong. That didn't stop you from sending Snape back to his master with half a prophecy.
The Wizengamot backed the emergency appointments of Millicent Bagnold as Minister and Barty Crouch Sr as head of the DMLE and authorised the Aurors to use the Unforgivables. The new trainee Aurors including my parents and the Longbottoms were instrumental in turning the tide. Death Eaters began to die. Death Eater supporters were thrown into Azkaban without trial, as long as the families didn't hold seats here.
You told the Order that Snape was now a double agent. That he was. Any in the Order who challenged you died. Betrayed to You-Know-Who on your orders. You-Know-Who had no idea who was the subject of the prophecy. You had to identify families who could fit, but there weren't any. That you ordered 4 Aurors into hiding who had sons born at the end of July 1980 suggests two candidates for the one who would end You-Know-Who. The 4 Aurors were unable to complete their training or kill any more Death Eaters. They were the Potter and Longbottom families.
You still had a problem in that You-Know-Who couldn't find the four in hiding. You'd already decided that the Potter family would be the one wiped out. You sent Snape to murder Lord Charlus Potter, Lady Dorea Potter nee Black, Heir Fleamont Potter and Euphemia Potter nee Fawley and my mother's parents. The record states witness placed a sallow-faced, greasy black-haired man, dressed in black, waving a stick around at the scene of the crash. The driver responsible said he had no memory of crossing a red light and ploughing into them. The driver wasn't charged.
You then changed tack urging both families to leave their ultra-safe homes and use a Fidelius charm to protect them in different location. You made sure that Remus Lupin was off doing missions for you and placed suspicion upon him for various attacks you knew Death Eater Peter Pettigrew had set up."
"Hem, hem," Dolores Jane Umbridge interrupted. "The Ministry was informed in April 1990 that Remus Lupin was a werewolf."
"By whom?"
"Severus Tobias Snape."
"Severus Tobias Snape had learned that Remus Lupin was a werewolf during the years they spent at Hogwarts together. Dumbledore knew Lupin was a werewolf before admitting him to Hogwarts. He didn't want Remus around to sniff a rat. You made sure, Dumbledore, that you and Pettigrew witnessed the Wills. You knew that Augusta Longbottom would never use anyone you suggested as Secret Keeper.
You made sure Pettigrew was around me in the days leading up to Halloween 1981. You knew You-Know-Who was going to attack on that evening. You had to be present watching my mother get murdered. You wanted the Potters extinct and you be recognised as the vanquisher of another Dark Lord. You were there to give Pettigrew orders as to where to hide out. You saw the confrontation between Sirius Black and Hagrid. You made sure Sirius would go after Peter Pettigrew. You knew Snape had been in the property, because you saw him later as he helped you remove the bodies and then had them buried. I'm sure we'd find no record of the funerals that the vicar remembers so well.
Snape went off to assassinate Minister Bagnold. Then set about setting up the attack on the Longbottoms who came out of hiding on your say-so. You arrived back at Hogwarts to take my blood, go to my muggle relatives to erect the ward and then attended a conference with Crouch to ensure Heir Sirius Orion Black was sent to Azkaban without trial.
You arranged the sale of the Potter property to the nation as something my parents would have wanted. You then had the Longbottoms attacked. Your mistake was in not killing the Longbottoms. Bella never left anyone alive. They waited to be arrested. You had doomed Crouch's ambition to be Minister. Me you left on the doorstep to found on November 2nd with a letter. The Longbottoms were attacked November 6th. You knew they would not be around to take me in.
You had my parents' Wills sealed. Who were the mover and seconder? The same ones who acted against my House in support of you in 1946? Sealing the Wills of a Noble and Most Ancient House is against the Law and is automatically recognised as line theft."
"All this is supposition and fanciful. The tale of a boy who is mentally unbalanced."
"If I may Lord Potter, I have information germane to the case."
"Very well Mr Tonks. I give you leave to present your points."
"I'm Ted Tonks, Attorney-At -Law to House Potter. I have statements from Aberfoth Dumbledore, the magical Government of Scotland, Rubeus Hagrid as to the time Albus Dumbledore apparated him to Godric's Hollow and the vicar who carried out two funerals that his records do not record. I have statements from Gringotts that a sale of the Potter Property in Godric's Hollow to become a national monument for 15,871 galleons was recorded but no money was put into the Potter Vaults. I have a Ministry record of the purchase of the Potter property in Godric's Hollow, the sale authorised by Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. An authority I hasten to add, he has never enjoyed. I enter these documents into evidence." Tonks sat down.
"Thank you, Mr Tonks. I am sure that as Dumbledore placed blocks on my magic November 1st 1981, he contemplated saying that I had succumbed to my wounds. That would have meant that he never got his hands on the Potter Vaults. It is clear that my parents never intended to sell that property as the Wills state that is where Sirius was to bring me up. My parents did not know that their parents were dead. Dumbledore controlled the information they received whilst in hiding.
After I was dumped on my magic hating muggle relatives doorstep, I complained many times about the treatment I suffered at their hands. Whenever I went back, it was like they didn't have a clue who I was.
Whilst I was getting beaten and starved, Lord Black was attempting to get a trial for his Heir, Regent Longbottom was trying to get custody of me as was Lord Fawley. Dumbledore refused all these lawful requests, whilst claiming to be my magical guardian. He never was. I now request the WIzengamot keep of Law to identify the mover and seconder of the motions in 1946 and 1981 against my family."
The Keeper of the Law spoke, "The mover and seconder were the same in each instance: William Selwyn and Coroticus Nott."
"Thank you, Keeper of the Law. This is the end of my case in the pretrial of one Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. I ask for a seconder and vote on trial or not."
"I demand the right to make a statement."
Chief Warlock Longbottom spoke, "This is a determination of whether there is sufficient evidence to bring the matter to a trial. You are out of order."
"I second the motion to bring this matter to trial," Sirius Black said.
The vote revealed 38 in favour of trial and 12 were against.
"The trial will be held 1st November 1991, here in courtroom ten before the full Wizengamot beginning at 8am. We will now continue with the order of business for today. Thank you, Lord Potter. The prisoner Dumbledore will remain in custody until the trial.
Dumbledore was lead away. "Fawkes," he yelled. The phoenix flashed in and flashed out taking Dumbledore away with him.
The session still finished at 5pm. Harry and Sirius spoke to each of the faction members and to each other. Harry had a light snack and arrived at Hogwarts, with his trunk via Hogmeade about 7pm. He made his way into the Hufflepuff dorm, watched an upper year Hufflepuff enter and then repeated what he saw and went into the first-year accommodation. Harry had told the Hogwarts house-elf he encountered that he was entering Hufflepuff as a Legacy student. The House-elf had understood and sent the trunk ahead. Hufflepuff had their own rooms. Harry was glad about that. He unpacked certain things and others he did not. He knew Dumbledore had his blood and would try to get someone into his trunk. Harry used parselmouth passwords on the main trunk and each compartment. Harry decided to change into his inferior Hogwarts stuff. He sent his bag to LA for the noMaj workbooks. About 7:45 he made his way to where the rest of the Hogwarts 'firsties'. He had a list of where each student was to go, thanks to Angelo. He'd make three changes. Neville out to Hufflepuff with Roger Malone into Gryffindor. Himself into Hufflepuff and Zacharias Smith into Gryffindor. Finally, Hermione would go to Ravenclaw in exchange for Padma Patel.
Harry had made it in time for McGonagall to explain the house system. The House is like your family and the points. Harry had to try hard not to burst out laughing. The points system is how we keep you sheeple in line. There's absolutely nothing tangible for doing well in points.
The Sorting Hat sang its little ditty. Then the 'firsties' were sent out in alphabetically order. Each pupil put on the Sorting Hat and it announced the House. Harry told the Hat about the changes he wanted. The Hat agreed.
