Harrison's POV

For three days they ran across the snowy landscape. It had not taken them long to catch back up to the pack. Many had seemed relieved that they weren't caught. Others seemed disappointed.

It wasn't out of concern for his welfare. No that would have been too easy for him. They were relieved that they didn't have to make the trek without guidance. Or worry about the wizards catching up to them and killing or experimenting on them.

Even with his return, however, they could not afford to slow down even for a moment. In doing so would bring about their destruction at his father's hands. After all his father only needed him. He did not need the other wolves who followed him.

So they kept running stopping only for short times to get a little rest and food. Then they went back to the run trying to get across the ice. They followed the scents and the Raven that led Harrison. All the way to another land. One that he didn't know the name of.

Harrison could smell the scents of other wolves. Scents that were familiar and made him pause. He had to double-check the scents to ensure it truly was them. Tsume, Hige, and Toboe were there. Their scents were only a few weeks old and it led in the direction that the raven wanted them to go.

As much as he wanted them to keep pushing to catch up he knew it wasn't a good idea. Unlike his father, he knew what the wolves could take. Pushing any further would cause the weaker wolves to fall behind. Those who fell behind would die alone without anyone to care.

Growling to the pack, $We will stop here for tonight. Make camp and send a group out to see if we can find some food.$

Wolves went about following his orders though there were some angry grumbles. He ignored them for now but he could see Gellert eyeing them suspiciously. He would keep an eye on them. Harrison shifted back into his human form.

Malcolm began to set wards around the camp. He knew more of the magic than Harrison did so he allowed it.

Quent blew against his hands to try and warm them as he said, "How long are we going to stay here?"

Harrison stretched his muscles as he replied, "At least a day but longer if we need to. We need to rebuild our strength before we continue on. If we continue as we have been others will abandon us."

"Sounds good to me," grumpy replied the man, "Keeping up with you wolves is next to impossible. I constantly feel as if I'm going to be left behind if I even pause for a breath."

Harrison asked his worry showing despite his best efforts, "Do we need to slow down for you? I don't want to lose you, Quent."

Losing Quent may just be the death of him. The man had saved his life and continually treated him as if he were the man's own. It has been a nice change from how his father treated him.

Quent said a tired smile crossing his face, "I'll be fine, kid. Besides Grindelwald is ensuring I keep up. The only way you will know I fell behind is if he is suddenly carrying me."

The image of Gellert carrying Quent bridal style suddenly flashed in his mind. This sent him into a fit of laughter that made the rest of the wolves glance at them uncertainly. No one dared to say anything, however.

"I don't even want to know what you're imagining," muttered the man grumpily.

Harrison shrugged but before anything else could be said wood was dropped in front of him. Time to get to work and start building a fire. While it was absolutely necessary they liked having the luxury. After so long-running, they could use some luxury.

Carefully controlling his magic so it didn't flare and give their position away he used Incendio. His magic was still untamed despite being past his majority. It took significant concentration for him not to allow it to flare.

After a few hours just as the sun was setting the hunters returned. One deer and four rabbits were brought back between them. It wasn't much but it would feed them for now. Harrison started on a stew so that they could have a warm meal.
