Enjoy chapter five.
Anna xx
I get up and start to get ready for the day. I put on a maroon skater dress with black knee high boots and my hair is in a pony tail.
Once changed I walk into Elena's room without knocking. "Morning Bonnie, Elena." I greet.
"Get out." Elena barks.
"Sorry, no can do." I decline. "If I leave, you might come up with another incredibly stupid decision and we can't have that, I mean after all it's not just your life in trouble."
Elena ignores me and I send her a smirk. She turns to face Bonnie and her attitude changes. "Now that you've got the stone back, what are you going to do with it?" She asks.
"Right now, it's what's binding the Sun and the Moon Curse. If I can figure out a way to remove the spell from the stone, the stone becomes useless." Bonnie answers.
I take a look at the very valuable stone Klaus has been trying to get for 500 years. "And from what Katherine says, Klaus becomes vengeful." I remind them.
"Maybe if he finds out."
"So far Elena has done a great job of that."
"Brie." Bonnie sighs.
"Whatever." I scoff.
"Bonnie, can't this wait? Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine. We've got to get him out." Elena complains.
"Stefan wants me to focus on this." Bonnie responds.
"Don't listen to him. He thinks that he's protecting me, but he's wrong."
"And there it is again it's all about you, well I'm out of here." I say and turn to leave and bump into Jeremy.
"Wait Brie." Jeremy calls out.
I turn back to face him. "Don't worry Jeremy I'm used to it. I'm just going to go sit in my room and wait to die, whilst everyone else saves Elena, maybe that's why there is two of us, maybe I'm the one that's supposed to die." I guess quickly and storm down stairs ignoring my previous statement.
"Neither of you are dying." Bonnie exclaims from behind me.
"One of us has to, and I'm pretty sure I know who you all are going to choose." I retort. "But don't worry I'm used it, I'm always second best, continue with your save Elena plan and work on the moonstone, if I'm going to die I might as well live my last days having fun instead of arguing with Elena." I shout and continue down the stairs. I open the front door to leave and I'm stopped by an invisible barrier. I try to go past but I can't. I turn around to find Bonnie, Jeremy and Elena at the top of the stairs. "What is this Bonnie?"
"This is the best way for you and Elena stay alive without exiting the house." She answers.
"I don't want to be stuck inside my house, put the barrier down, I have things to do and people to see." I order.
"No can do." she declines. "You'r stuck in here until we find a way to dispel the moonstone."
"How are you going to do that Bonnie?" I question. "That moonstone is over 1000 years old, and was cast by a very powerful witch, how are you going to do that when you've just become one."
"Brie." Jeremy shouts. "That's enough."
"I may not be old, but I'll dispel the moonstone to save both your lives." Bonnie assures.
"Do you know how? What if that doesn't work, do you know that it's not just us that us in danger here, you are to Bonnie, as well as Caroline, Tyler, even the Salvatore's, Jeremy, Jenna, Alaric. I don't want you to save me as I am already doomed, I don't want you risking your life for me I'm not worth it."
"That's bullshit." Elena shouts. "I see right through you Brie, you don't care if we get hurt."
I gasp. "That was low Elena." I glare. "Congratulations, you will get your wish, you won't have me in your life any more, because after this sacrifice, you'll continue living like I'm nothing like you have all our lives, congratulations we are no longer sisters." I declare pushing past her and walk into the kitchen. "Bonnie I want out of this house now, or I will burn it to the ground." I shout angrily. Bonnie shakes her head wiping her tears. "There's no need to cry Bonnie, you'll be fine it's not like anyone cares about me, maybe I should just leave again."
"No, no, no, you aren't leaving, stop running, stop quitting, you can't quit." She cries.
"I'm not giving up Bonnie I'm facing reality." I shout. "Even if you remove the spell from the moonstone, Klaus is still coming for one of us, and I don't have anyone on my side." I exclaim. "So if I'm not going to survive, then I want to enjoy my last days without being belittled and bullied by Elena, so lift the barrier now!"
She hesitates but nods. "Fine but please don't have that mindset that no one cares for you, that's not true."
"Bonnie don't lie to me, you have no idea how wrong you are." I disagree. "Can you honestly choose who you would prefer to save?" I ask her. She doesn't answer then looks into the living room. "Just what I thought; she's your best friend I get it." I sigh and go to leave but grabs my arm.
"Please don't think that I don't care for you."
I turn back to face her and start the water works. "Sure you do Bonnie, but you'll always pick her." I cry.
I turn to leave. "Brie! Please don't leave upset."
"Thats fucking hard not to when you choose my twin over me." I retort loudly and quietly leave the kitchen.
I walk past Elena and wipe my eyes. I instantly change my mood and send her a sly smirk before giving her a wink and walking out the door. That my friends is how you use tears to get your way.
I arrive at The Grill grinning. I venture towards the bar where I see an empty seat. I take a seat and a cute bartender comes over and I flutter my eyes. "What can I get you beautiful?" He asks.
"Vodka red bull." I order.
"Coming right up." He says smirking. I turn my head towards the tables and see a blonde girl talking to Matt. She seems to be asking questions. I then notice Damon and Alaric watching her closely. I turn back to face the bartender and he hands me my drink. "On the house."
"Why thank you."
"I get off at 12."
"I'll keep that in mind." I chuckle taking a sip of my drink. It doesn't hurt to flirt, when my man is in another state. Once the bartender walks away, the chair next to mine moves. I turn my head to see the woman who was talking to Matt. She sends me a smile. "Hi." I greet.
"Hi." She greets.
"New to town?"
"Passing through, I'm actually looking for someone."
"Really, I was born here, so I might know them, who are you looking for?" I ask.
"Two people actually, one who I think is missing, and the other who might know where he is."
"Who?"
"Tyler Lockwood, do you know him?"
"Yes I know him. I grew up with him, he usually hangs around The Grill, but I haven't seen him in a while as I've just gotten back into town."
"I'm Jules."
"Brie." I introduce.
"Do you know Mason Lockwood?"
"Tyler's Uncle, yes, but I haven't seen him in years." I respond. "I think I was 14 when I last saw him, I'll tell you a secret, I used to have the biggest crush on him."
She laughs. "He was in town and I got a call from Tyler today asking where he was and he seems to be missing." she explains.
"Missing, shit! Have you gone to Carol Lockwood?"
"Yeah, but she doesn't know, I just thought maybe Tyler new something cause he was the reason Mason came back."
"I wasn't in town when he was here but I can keep an eye out for you." I respond. "I'm close with the Sheriff, maybe I can help find him, I like investigating."
"You seem a bit young to be drinking." She notices.
"I'm smarter than you think." I respond with a grin. "I just got back from New York and I got to experience life out of this town." I add. "It also helps to add some charm, to get what you want."
"Very true."
"Drink?" I offer.
"Just one, it's getting late and I've got to head out shortly."
I signal for the bartender and he walks back over and I smirk. "Another one these." I say gesturing to my empty glass. "And what would you like Jules?"
"Same as her." Jules answers.
He smirks and starts to make them. He rejoins us. "Enjoy ladies." He says winking and walks away.
"Do you always get this type of attention?" Jules wonders.
I send her a knowing look. "Trust me I'm just having some fun, I'm actually in a committed relationship."
"How old are you?"
"Almost 18."
"Wow and you've already seen some stuff out of this town."
"I needed to get away, I was miserable and I'm so glad I did." I admit. "I grew up, I matured and lived my live for myself." I explain.
"Good for you. And this man of yours is he a good or bad boy?"
"Bad." I chuckle. "You could even say evil but he adores and spoils me, bought me an Audi for my birthday last year."
She gasps. "He's older?"
"Yep 24." More like 1024. We continue talking and all of a sudden someone bumps into. "Dammit." I groan and turn around to see that Alaric has bumped me. "What the hell."
"Sorry." He says pretending to slur. Wtf is going on? I turn to the entry and see Damon eyeing us. "Sorry about that, aren't you a little young to be drinking?"
"Aren't you a little creepy to be near me." I retort and stand up. "Jules it's been lovely meeting you, I hope you find Mason, I'm around here all the time, so if you need help, come find me."
"Thanks Brie." she thanks.
I arrive back home after a fun day out using Klaus's credit card treating myself to some cute outfits. I arrive home just as Elena walks down the stairs. She sees me and glares. "Where have you been?" She questions.
"Out. What about you?" I ask holding in a laugh. "Oh that's right you were stuck in here, but that's okay Elena I had fun for both of us, and by the way you can't borrow anything."
She rolls her eyes and walks into the kitchen and Jenna is looking under the stairs. "What are you doing?" She asks Jenna.
"Perfect timing both of you." Jenna says handing Elena a box.
"Sorry can't help I have my hands full." I decline.
"When did you go shopping?"
"Today, it was fun. I got you something actually."
"Really?"
"Yes, it's to say thank you for all you've done for me."
"You didn't have to get me anything."
"I wanted to." I smile and look at Elena who's glaring at me. "Calm your farm Lena."
"Well before you go at it, can you please put the shopping bags down and help?" Jenna asks and shuts the door and behind it is Elijah. Elena instantly jumps back and I can't help but chuckle at that.
"Hi, I'm Elijah." He introduces himself.
"I'm Brie and mute over there is Elena, nice to meet you." I introduce shaking his hand.
He sends me the famous Mikaelson smirk. "Elijah is in town doing research on Mystic Falls." Jenna informs us.
Research really? He steps closer and I don't move. Elena is a frozen in place. He turns to Elena and extends his hand she slowly shakes it. "It's a pleasure to meet you both." Elijah says.
"Likewise." I agree.
"So you're more than welcome to stay here and rummage through this stuff or we could help you load it into your car." Jenna suggests.
"Or I can get someone to pick it up tomorrow." Elijah offers.
"Also a good plan."
"Thank you so much for inviting me into your home, Jenna, Elena, and Briana."
"It's our pleasure, everyone is welcome." I smile.
"I hope to see you again sometime soon."
"Wouldn't miss it."
Once Jenna is out of shot Elena instantly runs up the stairs. "Seriously Elena, he's invited in, he can still get to you." I laugh as I walk to my room and standing inside with the window open is Elijah. "Couldn't wait till I was unpacked?"
Elena freezes at the sight of him. "I believe it's time we've all had a chat." Elijah addresses.
"I'd say it's about time, the last time wasn't really a place for conversation."
"No it wasn't." He agrees turning to the door to face Elena. "Elena, come in I won't bite, if I did you and everyone in this house would be dead." Elijah reassures. "Forgive the intrusion, I mean your family no harm."
"Why did you kill those vampires when they tried to take us?" Elena asks.
"Because I didn't want you two to be taken." He answers. "Klaus is the most feared and hated of The Originals, but those that fear him are desperate for his approval." He explains. "If word gets out that the doppelgänger exists, in this case two, there will be a line of vampires eager to take you to him and I can't have that."
"Isn't that exactly what you're trying to do?" I wonder.
"Let's just say that my goal is not to break the curse."
"What is your goal?" Elena asks.
He turns to face us. "Klaus's obsession has made him paranoid. He's recluse. He trusts only those in his immediate circle."
"Like you?" I question.
"Not any more."
"You don't know where he is, do you? So you're trying to use me to draw him out." Elena assumes.
"It's not just you Elena, it's your sister too." Elijah reminds her.
I laugh a little. "Wow, that was unexpected."
"And to do that, I need you both to stay put and stop trying to get yourself killed Elena." He warns and Elena looks shocked.
"How do we know you're telling us the truth?" I ask.
"If I wasn't being truthful, all your family would be dead and I'd be taking you to Klaus right now." he responds. "Instead, I'm here and prepared to offer you two a deal."
"What kind of a deal?" Elena queries.
"Do nothing, live your life, stop fighting and when the time is right, we shall draw out Klaus together and I will make sure your friends remain unharmed."
"And then what?" I ask.
"Then I kill him." He declares.
When he says that I have to keep my heart rate the same. He's not here on business he's here to kill Klaus. "Just like that?"
"Yes, just like that. I'm a man of my word, Brie. I make a deal, I keep it."
"How are you going to be able to keep everybody safe?" Elena asks interrupting the intense stare down.
"I notice you have a friend; Bonnie, is it? She seems to possess the gift of magic. I have friends with similar gifts."
"You know witches?"
"My god Elena he's an Original of course he knows witches." I scoff.
"Yes Elena I know witches and together we can protect everybody that matters to you two. So, do we have a deal?" Elijah asks us both.
"I need you to do one more thing for me." Elena negotiates.
"We're negotiating now?" Elijah asks amused.
"Get used to it Elijah, because she'll break her word." I warn. "But yes you and I have a deal, you can do your deal with her out of my room, I'm exhausted."
"Briana." Elena scolds.
"Oh don't act like you're the innocent person here Elena; you do remember this morning right?"
She huffs and walks off. "You two have a very distant relationship." Elijah notices.
"Oh beyond that, we aren't sisters." I explain."You may think she's the perfect replicate of Katherine, but she isn't, she's the same cold hearted bitch, it's just Katherine knows it and owns it."
"Why are you so rude to her?"
"Because I've never been good enough to her, or to my parents and now that I've lived a life outside this town, I can live my life without Elena bullying me." I respond. "She thinks she can walk all over me, well not any more, and if that means I need to be selfish in wanting to stay alive, so be it. I'm not going to sit around whilst everyone sucks up to her when she isn't trying herself."
"Why do you think that no one will choose you?" He asks.
"Because I know. I already asked Bonnie Bennett she didn't even have to answer, I saw her look towards Elena. That's what it's always been, everyone choosing her, but not this time." I respond. "If I don't have anyone on my side, I'm going to find a way to survive on my own because that's what I do best, I survive."
"For your recollection you aren't alone and far from it." He reassures and flashes off.
Once the storm of today has died down I shut my door and call Klaus. "Babe." I say into the phone.
"Hello love, how's it going in Mystic Falls?"
"Your brother decided to make his first move today."
"What?"
"Elijah's been invited into my house. He wants to make a deal with us, to lure you here and kill you." I announce.
"I knew he was up to something."
"Now that you know, what do you want me to do?"
"Keep up what you're doing, relay everything he does and says. Now that Elijah's in town I have to rethink some things, it'll be a little longer until I can come to town now."
"Okay."
"What was your day like?"
I sigh. "My day sucked. Firstly I got stuck in my own house, I argued with my evil twin, I got drunk, and made a fake deal with Elijah."
"Stuck in your house?" He queries.
"After Elena's idiotic stunt yesterday Bonnie decided to lock us in our house to keep us from running off and running to you."
He chuckles. "And how did you cope with that?"
"I gave them a grade a performance, I even worked some tears in there." I relay.
"You're evil."
"And you're the devil we're the perfect pair." I grin. "Do you know how much longer it is until you arrive in town then?"
"Not for a while, but keep me posted and besides you can always come visit love."
"I will." I agree. "But it was fun flirting with the bartender today."
"Sweetheart you're treading a thin line." He growls.
"You know I love it when you're angry it makes for hot hybrid sex."
I hear him take a breath. "Behave Brie."
I giggle. "Oh Nik, I'm always behaved and on my best behaviour."
"Sure you are love." He chuckles amused. "Alright love, speak to you soon."
"By Nik." I hanging up.
