The next morning I wake to find Caroline asleep. I slowly maneuver myself out of bed and make my way around her room gathering my things. After a shower, I change into a white singlet top and a black high waisted skirt.

Once I'm ready I walk over Carolines bed and start to slowly stroke Caroline on the head. "Care." I whisper. She doesn't move. "Care." I repeat poking her. She groans. "Caroline."

Her eyes start to flutter open. She pears up at me and blinks. "What?"

"I'm leaving." I announce.

"What?" she asks bolting up.

"Remember I told you last night that I need to get out of town for a bit." I remind her. "I'm going to search for answers and visit my boyfriend."

"Where are you going?"

"I have a contact out of town that might know more about the sacrifice." I explain. "I'm checking it out."

"You're coming back?"

"Yes."

"As long as you come back and will be ok."

"I'll be fine and as I said last night I'll ring you to tell you how I'm going." I promise.

"Okay, I wish I could go with you."

"Me too, but there's always next time." I assure. "Once this shit is over with we can go, anywhere you want."

She smiles. "I'd like that, I'm so sick of this place."

I smile. "Now go back to sleep but keep me posted on what's going on here."

"I will."

"I'll speak to you later."

"See you."

Several hours of driving later I arrive at a mansion on the outside of town. I gather my bags and take a look around. I hear my phone ringing and I glance to see that it's Bonnie. I roll my eyes and answer. "Hello." I answer.

"Where are you?" she asks frantically.

"Out of town."

"You're where?"

"I left town for a while, I couldn't be around you and Elena." I respond. "If I'm going to die, I'm going to at least see my boyfriend before I do, you know say my goodbyes."

"Don't say that."

"Well it's the truth, you picked Elena over me the other day, so I'm screwed."

"I didn't choose her." She denies.

"You didn't have to, I know you'll choose her over me, you always have." I disagree.

She exhales. "Why are you leaving? You promised you wouldn't."

"As I said before, I'm saying my goodbyes to my man, and I also have a contact that might be able to help me with this sacrifice."

"You have contacts?"

"I'm smarter than I look Bonnie." I remind her. "Whilst you and The Salvatore's have been on the save Elena train, I've been doing some investigating of my own."

"We've included you."

"Really Bonnie, have you?" I retort. "Because the last time I checked you didn't even call Caroline or myself when we were kidnapped, shot and tortured."

"You were what?" She gasps.

"Oh so you're not the only one out of the loop. Yeah, Caroline and I were taken by werewolves last night, and we were tortured and shot."

"No one told me."

"Surprise, surprise, maybe ask Elena, she knew." I suggest. "Now, I've arrived at my destination, I'll be back home soon." I add. "If you need me, talk to Caroline, she's the only one I trust."

"You don't trust me?"

"When you choose my twin over me it's kind of a given." I reply. "Toodles Bon Bon, try not waist your magic okay." I finish and hang up just as the front door opens and Nik walks out. "Babe." I squeal dropping my things and run at him. I jump into his arms and he chuckles lifting me up with ease and I automatically wrap my legs around his waist and kiss him tenderly. "Hi."

"Hello to you too love." He chuckles and kisses me again. "How do you feel?"

"I'm fine, Caroline gave me some of her blood."

"The newbie vampire best friend?"

"That's the one." I confirm. "I think after we're finished with the sacrifice we should take her on the road with us, get her out of Mystic Falls and let her find herself."

"Whatever you want love."

I smile. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." he replies. "Now come on, you must be exhausted."

"Yeah, being shot and then driving three hours is tiring."

His face hardens. "The wolf that did this to you will pay."

"As long as I get to watch."

"Deal." He agrees and flashes to grab my luggage. "You know for only being here for a week you packed a lot of stuff."

"Like you can talk." I retort.

Once inside and settled into our room I lie on the bed looking up at the ceiling. I hear the door open and Klaus walks in with a bottle of wine and some glasses. "Finished unpacking?" He asks.

I sit up against the headboard. "Just finished, what do you have there?"

"I thought a celebration should be in order, we are so close to breaking my curse."

"Does this mean your coming to Mystic Falls?" I ask. He nods. "When?"

"When you head back, but I won't exactly be in the same body."

"Body swap?"

"Yes. I'm going to hijack Alaric's body with the help of Isobel."

"Isobel, my birth mother?"

"That Isobel." He confirms. "So when do you think you're going back?"

"I'm going to wait to see how much trouble my sister and her band of misfits get into before I triumphantly return just in time for the ritual as well as the decade dance. Caroline would murder me if I didn't go."

"How do you think she'll react when she finds out the truth?" He wonders.

"I'm hoping I can talk her around it. I want to show her what the world has to offer and what she is can truly be capable of."

"Have you heard from you're friend Rose?"

"Yes, she went back to her hometown."

After several glasses of wine I am kissing Klaus's neck and slightly tipsy. His hands are roaming my body. "I missed you." I whisper between kisses.

"As did I."

"How much?" I ask with a grin.

"How about I show you?"

"What are you going to do to me?" I wonder as I straddle his waist and sit up, moving my hands up and down his chest under his shirt.

He growls and flips me underneath him and he hovers above me. "I've missed your smart mouth." He whispers as he leans down and kisses me.

I kiss him back with full force and pull him closer. I feel his tongue asking for access so I tease him a little and he growls which makes me giggle, giving him the perfect opportunity to dart his tongue in my mouth. I moan into the kiss as I feel myself wanting him. He starts tracing kisses and moves down my neck. I roll my head to the side giving him better access. "Klaus." I moan.

"Yes love." He says kissing my neck.

"I need you."

"I know love, I'm just getting started." he grins and attacks my lips.

His hands move to my waist and I tangle my legs with his. My singlet rides up as his hands move underneath my shirt and travels north. He reaches my bra and his hands start to fondle my breasts. "Ah." I moan loving his touch. "Nik."

The next morning I wake up to a glaring light hitting my face. I scrunch up and turn to my side and feel a hard body next to me. I open my eyes and see Klaus sleeping next to me. I smile at him and lie back down on my back covered in our satin sheets.

I rub my eyes and see my phone on the bed side table. I pick it up and notice I have several missed calls and texts. Two from Stefan, one from Damon, several from Jeremy and no surprise none from Elena. They are wondering where I am so I send a mass text to get them off my back: I left town for a while, to clear my head and to check in on a lead I found. Don't bother asking me to come back I'll come back when I'm ready. Nearly dying the other night made me want to live my life the way I want before I'm sacrificed. Have fun in town, don't die! I chuckle at my bitchiness and notice a message from Care: Have you made it safely?

I respond: Yes, just woke up from a very, very good night.

I turn back over to see Klaus staring at me. "Well that's not creepy." I comment.

"It's hard to sleep when your girlfriend decides to text at a god awful hour." He grumbles.

"The Scooby gang have only just now wondered where I am, thought I'd tell them to take a hike and leave me alone, and I'll come back when I'm ready."

"So that's why you chuckled."

"That and I gossiped to Caroline that I got laid."

"You tell her everything?"

"Well not everything, everything, but most things. She's more of a sister than Elena is." I respond. "Now up, we have lots to do." I announce sitting up naked and getting out of bed.

"And what are we doing?" he asks eyeing my body.

"We are planning and spending time together, because when we get back we won't really be doing and fun stuff, we'll be all ritual and nothing else."

"Well then we better move on then." He accepts flashing over to me picking me up bridal style and flashes us into the bathroom.

"I didn't say we had to rush." I smirk as he eyes me up. "See something you like?"

"Yes." he answers and attaches his lips to mine.
