After my fight with Damon I ended up crashing at my place. I hear my phone ringing and look to see it's Stefan calling me. I answer it. "What?" I grumble.
"Where are you?" Stefan questions.
"Home."
"Why are you there? Do you not realise an Original vampire is after you?"
"Oh Stefan stop it. He isn't invited in, I'm fine, I needed to get out of that awful house."
"Have you seen Elena?" He asks.
"She's not with you?"
"I can't find her and Elijah is missing."
"You're worried because?"
"Because she's with an Original vampire that she stabbed with a dagger and I don't know where she is."
"Oh stop worrying she's probably getting answers." I assume. "Let her do what she needs to do, she's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle it." I finish hanging up.
I quickly get my phone out use the app that I have to find her. Lockwood Mansion. How interesting.
I quickly put on black skinny jeans and navy and white checkered flannel with white converse. I grab my car keys and head off towards the Lockwood's.
I arrive at the Lockwoods and find Elena's car in the driveway. I make my way towards the car and see two figures inside. I walk to Elena's side of the car and wait for the perfect opportunity and suddenly knock which Elena jumps startled looking in my direction and glares. I laugh loudly. "OMG, you should've seen your face."
"What are you doing here?" She shouts.
"Your boyfriend is worried you're doing something stupid and I guess he was right." I respond and turn to face Elijah. "Hello Elijah."
"Briana, nice seeing you again." he greets.
"You too." I agree. "I apologise for my sister's behaviour when I was away, she really doesn't think sometimes."
"Briana what are you doing here?" Elena asks again.
"After your boyfriend woke me up, I found out you were here and here we are." I answer. "Oh and I also wanted to know why you would pull the dagger out of someone you daggered, do you really have no brains?"
"Would you just go?"
"Sorry no can do." I decline and she huffs getting out of the car. "So Elijah, how are you, besides just being undaggered?"
"Still feel a little dead, that's why I asked Elena to drive me here so we can chat."
"Splendid. Mind if I join?" I invite myself.
"More the merrier."
"Lead the way." I direct and he walks us up to the front door.
Elijah knocks on the front door of the Lockwood Mansion and a moment later Carol opens it. "Oh my god, Elijah, Brie and Elena! What are you doing here? What happened?" She questions.
"I've had a bit of an incident, Carol. I'm hoping you could help me." Elijah replies as Elena and I stand behind him and send her a smile.
"Well I'm on my way to a meeting, so I-" Carol begins.
But Elijah stands in front of her and compels her. "It won't take a minute of your time."
"Of course. Anything you need." She complies.
"Thank you." he thanks and we enter the house. "First things first, I'm going to need a change of clothing."
"You can try one of my husband's suits, I haven't boxed them up yet."
"Wonderful."
"How did you know she's not on vervain?" I ask curiously.
"I'm the one who got her off it." he answers. "Right before your sister and her friends killed me. Twice. If you'll excuse me. I'll be down in a moment."
Elijah, Elena and I are sitting in the living room and we are informing him of what has happened since he's been daggered. "I assume that the Martin witches are no longer with us." Elijah assumes.
"Sadly." I mutter sarcastically.
"Where were you when this happened?"
"I was visiting my boyfried, saying my goodbyes, having sex, a must when you are about to be sacrificed." I announce and Elena gasps at my openness.
Elijah sends me a smirk. "Did you know that they were going to be daggering me?"
"No I didn't. And if I did I would have told them it was a stupid idea, but I guess they have to learn from their own mistakes, you see I'm a lot smarter than Elena."
"Stop it." Elena wines.
I raise my hands up in mock surrender. "Just telling the truth."
"What about Katerina or Katherine whatever she calls herself these days?" Elijah questions.
"Klaus took her. We think that she may be dead." Elena answers solemnly.
"I doubt it." I mumble.
Elijah looks at me amused. "Why so?"
"Just doesn't seem like Klaus's thing." I assume. "She's been on the run for 500 years, I think he'd want her to suffer first."
"True." he agrees. "Death would be to easy after what she did."
"I don't understand. You say that you want Klaus dead, but you're still mad at Katherine for betraying him." Elena questions confused.
"I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay. There was a time I'd have done anything for Klaus." He admits.
'"Where have you come from Katerina?" Klaus asks.
"I'm new to town my lord." Katerina says with a smile.
Elijah looks at Klaus. "Katerina is from Bulgaria." Elijah informs him.
"Zdravei, Katerina." Klaus says in Bulgarian.
She laughs in delight. "Very good."
Klaus looks at Elijah. "Do you mind, brother? I would like to have a moment alone with her."
"No not at all. Happy Birthday, brother."'
I sit there in fake shock. "Klaus is my brother." Elijah repeats.
"I did not see that coming." I lie.
"Yes I'm a little behind on the times, but I believe the term you're searching for is "O.M.G." he responds and I laugh sipping my tea.
Elijah slowly goes into more detail about his family. "There's a whole family of Originals?" Elena asks in shock.
God she's daft. I got the brains and beauty, that's probably why she is such a bitch to me. "My father was a wealthy land owner in a village in Eastern Europe. Our mother bore seven children." Elijah explains.
"So your parents were human?"
"Our whole family was." He confirms. "Our origin as vampires is a very long story, Elena. Just know we're the oldest vampires in the world. We are The Original family, and from us all vampires were created."
"Right and Klaus is your brother but you want him dead?" I pipe up.
He doesn't answer. "I need some air, I'm still feeling a tad dead."
I scoff. "He didn't answer my question."
Elijah, Elena and I are walking along the grounds of the Lockwood Estate. "So as you've seen, nothing can kill an Original. Not sun, not fire, not even a werewolf bite. Only the wood from one tree. A tree my family made sure burned." Elijah continues to explain.
"That's where the white ash for the dagger comes from." I comment.
"Thats correct. The witches won't allow anything truly immortal to walk the earth. Every creature needs to have a weakness in order to maintain the balance."
"So the sun can't kill an Original. Why is Klaus so obsessed with breaking the Sun and Moon curse?" Elena asks confused.
Elijah smiles softly. "The curse of the sun and the moon. It's all so, biblical-sounding, don't you think?"
"What's so funny?"
'Klaus is sitting on a chair in a bedroom of his mansion. A woman is in front of him. Elijah's with him and he shows Klaus a parchment. "Look. A Roman parchment." He shows.
"I remember etching this scroll. I was quite blistered from drink." Klaus jokes.
"Some of your finest work remains your Aztec drawings."
"Not the African carvings? Cause I was quite proud of those."
"The Aztec. Who can resist a shaman?" Elijah questions.'
"I don't understand. So Klaus drew the Aztec sketches about the curse?" Elena asks with a frown.
"Roman scrolls, African tribal etchings, and any other culture or continent we felt like planting it in."
"But why?"
"The easiest way to discover the existence of a doppelgänger or to get your hands on some long lost moonstone is to have every single member of two warring species on the lookout."
"So it's not Aztec at all?"
"The curse of the Sun and the Moon, is fake. It doesn't exist." Elijah announces and starts to walk away.
"What?!" Elena shrieks.
"Did you not hear what he just said?"
"Oh shut up."
"I'm not the one that didn't get it." I mumble and follow Elijah feeling daggers in my back from Elijah. "Elijah I think you need to explain it in English for dumb dumb over there."
Elijah chuckles. "And why are you so calm about this?"
"I'm not I just don't show my emotions."
"To help Elena process it in simpler terms, Klaus and I faked the sun and moon curse dating back over a thousand years."
"But if there's no curse." Elena comments.
"There's a curse. Just not that one. The real one's much worse, a curse placed on Klaus."
"What's the curse?" I ask already knowing.
A phone is heard vibrating and Elijah is clearly not happy about it. "Your phone will not stop its incessant ringing. Answer it, please." He says to Elena.
Elena takes it and answers. "Stefan, what's wrong? No. No, no, no, no. Okay, I'll be right there." Elena says hanging up and looks at Elijah and me. "Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her."
And for the first time I'm in shock. "What?" I shriek.
"Klaus went after Jenna."
"Well what are you doing? Move your feet let's go."
"I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement." Elijah denies.
"No you don't get to tell us when we leave and stay, my aunt just got approached by your brother, she's my family, I'm leaving."
"For once I agree with Brie. Jenna is our family and we have to go, and we both will be back, you have my word." Elena promises.
"That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it." Elijah dismisses.
"Thank you."
I slowly follow after her. "I would have gone with or without permission." I finish and walk out.
In the car I sit twiddling my fingers. "I know we can't stand each other, but right now, we need to be able to be in a place where we can tell Jenna what's going on." I start.
She glances at me and glares. "Fine."
"After we tell her, then we can go back to hating each other for all I care, but right now all I care about is telling Jenna what is going on, and we should have told her from the beginning."
"She would have been at risk."
"She is now Elena." I retort.
We sit quietly. "Let's be civil for Jenna."
"Good."
Elena and I arrive at the boarding house, and before the car stops I jump out and run inside. "Where is she?" I ask.
"Brie?" Asks a soft voice.
I hear her in the library and when I enter I see a teary eyed Jenna. "OMG, are you okay?"
She stands up and approaches me. "No."
"I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you when I came back, but I was told not to." I apologise trying to save my ass.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me." she cries as Elena enters clearly upset.
"Jenna." Elena calls out.
"No." Jenna shouts at Elena and I smile on the inside.
"I'm so sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen."
"When I was little, your mum used to tell me bedtime stories. Stories about vampires. I never thought that what she said could be true."
"It's true Jenna." I whisper.
She looks at me and I see more tears forming in her eyes. I hold her tightly as Elena tries to cover her ass. "I should have told you. I thought that if you didn't know, you'd be safe." she explains. "But then things got so out of control and everything I had done to keep you out of it just blew up in my face."
"Who else knows?" Jenna asks. "Jeremy?" We nod. "John?"
"Yes." I answer holding her tightly.
"We were trying to protect you." Elena explains.
"Protect me?" She scoffs.
"I'm so sorry Jenna." I apologise again. "I'll tell you everything."
"It's not supposed to be like this, I should be protecting you guys."
"We know, but there's nothing that you could have done. There's so much more to it." Elena explains futher.
"No, this is, this is so, I don't know how, it's." Jenna mumbles finally breaking into tears. She buries her head in my chest and I rub her back.
"I'm so sorry Jenna." I aplologise.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she whispers. "I'm scared."
"We are too." I confess and just let her hold me as she cries herself to sleep.
After a while I lay her on the couch and I pull a blanket over her. "We should go back." Elena whispers.
"Is she gonna be okay?" Stefan asks as we reach the hallway.
"She's in shock." I answer. "I tried telling her but I barely got through an apology, I'll try later, she just needs some time."
Elena nods in agreement. "I'm so sorry girls. I hate this." Stefan apologises.
"It's not your fault Stefan." Elena responds.
"You're right it's not, it's everyone's, now we need to go." I remind her.
She nods and goes to leave. "Wait, what? No!" Stefan stops her.
"Stefan I promised Elijah that I'd return. I can't break that promise." Elena replies.
"I'll be waiting in the car." I address.
"No you won't." Damon says from in front of me.
I look up to see Damon guarding the door. "You need to let me past."
"No can do."
"Well I'm sorry then." I say in advance and kick him in the shin. "Elena let's go." I order and she follows after me leaving a shocked Stefan and Damon watching after us.
We arrive back at the Lockwood's and find Elijah by the fireplace. He looks relieved that we came back. "You both came back." He addresses.
"We did." I confirm.
"Now tell us, what's Klaus's curse?" Elena asks not waiting a beat.
"Take a seat." he gestures and we sit down on the lounge. "My family was quite close, but Klaus and my father did not get on well." Elijah explains. "When we became vampires, we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father's son. My mother had been unfaithful many years before and this was her darkest secret. Klaus is from a different bloodline." he announces. "Of course, when my father discovered this, he hunted down and killed my mother's lover and his entire family. Not realizing, he was igniting a war between species that rages until this day."
"A war between the species?" Elena asks.
"The vampires and the werewolves."
"So Klaus' real father was from a werewolf bloodline? What does that make Klaus? A werewolf or a vampire?"
"He's both." I whisper.
"Correct." he confirms. "A hybrid would be deadlier than any werewolf or vampire. Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, saw to it that my brother's werewolf side become dormant."
"And that's the curse that Klaus wants to break?" Elena clarifies.
"Klaus wants to trigger the part of him that's a werewolf. If allowed, he would sire his own bloodline and build his own race. Endangering not just vampires, but everyone."
"But you helped him?" I question.
"I helped him because I loved him. That's changed, now he must die."
"We have the dagger now. We can stop him." Elena expresses.
"When a werewolf is wounded by silver it heals. An Original can't be killed by anything but white oak ash on a silver dagger. So you see the conundrum, the dagger does not work."
"What are you saying, Klaus can't be killed?" Elena queries.
"There's only one way to kill any supernatural species, at the hands of the servants of nature themselves."
"A witch." I identify.
Elijah nods. "If they channel that much power it would kill them." Elena comments.
"The curse must be broken during the full moon. When Klaus is in transition that's when he'll be the most vulnerable. A witch with enough power can kill Klaus."
I try to control my heart rate. "What if I told you that I knew a witch that could channel that much power." Elena alerts.
"Then I should tell you there's one more thing that you should know."
'Klaus is standing by a burning fireplace in a room of the mansion and Elijah enters. "The full moon is tomorrow brother. After all these centuries it's finally time." Klaus addresses.
"I've been to see the witches. They believe they may have found a way to spare the doppelgänger."
"What does it matter if she lives or not? She's a means to an end."
"She should die for your gain?"
"She is human, her life means nothing." Klaus responds.
"I beg you to consider this."
"Are you foolish as to care for her?"
"Of course not." Elijah denies.
Klaus approaches him slowly. "Love is a vampire's greatest weakness, and we are not weak, Elijah. We do not feel and we do not care."
"We did once."
"Too many lifetimes ago to matter. Tell the witches not to bother. The sacrifice will happen as planned."'
"You found a way to save the life of the doppelgänger?" Elena guesses.
"Yes so I can save both of you." He confirms.
"Don't bother I found a way to save my own." I announce.
"How so?"
"Whilst you were daggered I made contact with a witch, she made me a potion which has resuscitation tendencies, it would be like I was asleep then a few hours later I would wake up."
"How on earth did you find a spell like that?" he asks shocked.
"I have my ways and that is staying with me, everyone has to keep things close to their chest."
He observes me and smiles. "There is more to you that meets the eye isn't there?"
I smirk as Elena interrupts. "So you can save my life?" She questions.
"Yes." Elijah answers. "So don't do what Katerina did, I believe you both know how that played out."
"You cared about her, didn't you?" I ask curiously.
"It's a common mistake I'm told. And it's one I won't make again."
"Well I would love to stay and chat, I have somewhere to be, I'll be around to check on Jenna later, don't wait up Lena." I farewell.
"Where are you going?" She asks.
"Out."
3rd Person POV
Maddox and Greta are on their knees changing a spell. Alaric is standing next to a wooden box. He has his head bowed and his eyes are closed. Katherine looks on terrified.
Maddox and Greta stop chanting and they look towards Alaric as he opens his eyes. "Elena?" he says collapsing to the floor.
Maddox stands up and opens up the box and out walks Klaus in his true body. He glances down at Alaric smiling. "Now that's more like it." He says aloud and turns to face Katerina who is petrified."I have somewhere to be, watch her." He orders and flashes off.
Brie POV
I'm sitting on a park bench in town square annoyed. My day went horribly. I was stuck with Elijah and my bitch of a sister hearing a story I already know. On top of that I find out my boyfriend goes after my Aunt, which was not part of the plan, he has a lot of explaining to do.
I feel a cold breeze hit my skin and I take a deep breath to stop myself from shouting. "You pissed me off today." I say aloud and lean back and turn to face Klaus in his true form smirking.
"I'm sorry love, but I told you I had to do things, that you weren't going to like, this I had to do, I had to make it look real." He apologises.
I sigh. "You still could have warned me. Just a heads up, would have been nice."
"Tow tell me how your day was with my brother?"
I groan and he chuckles. "My day was boring. I spent the whole day being told a story I already know and it made me want to scream."
Klaus grins and leans close to me and whispers in my ear. "I can have you screaming other things."
I gasp as I feel his hot breath on my neck. "Klaus don't flirt with me I'm still pissed at you."
"Of course you are, but you know what is good about being mad at someone?"
"What?" I mumble trying to control my thoughts as he starts to suck on my neck. I moan a little trying to keep myself together.
I feel his lips form into a grin and he continues to suck on my favourite spot. "Make up sex." He whispers.
"Klaus, stop." I moan.
"Are you sure love? I can hear your heartbeat picking up every second." he teases as he lowers his lips and travels further down my neck.
His hand starts to move up my leg and I he continues to slowly move closer to my favourite place. "Klaus." I moan.
"What do you want?" he whispers. I moan knowing I'm sunk. I lean my head back and give him better access. He growls and starts to travel towards my shoulder blade. "You know I still can't get over that 60s costume."
"Agh." I moan as his hands grope me over my tight jeans. "Klaus we need to get somewhere private." I whisper and I'm suddenly lifted and flashed off in a direction I don't know where. We stop and I'm surrounded by trees. "The woods really?"
"It's always been an image of mine taking you up against a tree." He grins.
"You are a dirty dirty man."
"Well I have a dirty dirty woman to keep up with me."
"Really?" I smirk and turn around to face him. "Show me how dirty." I grin and take my shirt off showing him my Victoria Secret underwear, and he growls flashing me against a tree and kisses me roughly and I let him take control.
After my rendezvous in the woods with Nik I'm in a much better mood and make my way back to the Boarding House. I sneak inside and try to find Jenna's room as I want to see how she's doing.
"Where have you been?" a voice asks from behind me.
I jump startled and see Damon behind me. "Ah no where." I lie.
"What's on your neck?" he asks observing me and I quickly cover my love bite.
"Alright you caught me, my boyfriend is in town."
"What?"
"He surprised me."
"And you did what?"
"Do you really want to know?" I ask smirking. He frowns shaking his head. "I'm going to check on Jenna."
I enter Jenna's room and find her sleeping. I tip-to over and crawl onto the other side. She groans rubbing her eyes. "Where were you?" she asks and I can see her eyes are puffy.
"My boyfriend came to visit me, but I told him I needed to check on my aunt. How are you doing?" I ask her. She shakes her head. "Come here."
"I used to do this to you when you were upset."
"It happened a lot."
"But not anymore, you're different."
"I have to be."
"What made you this way?"
"I guess mum and dad dying to start with and seeing how quickly life can be taken away, I wanted to live in a world not being bullied by Elena."
"And do you feel bullied and belittled now?"
I shake my head. "I feel powerful." I whisper. "No more talking, I'll talk to you tomorrow about everything."
"Thank you for being a great niece."
"Thanks for being the best aunt and friend." I retort.
