I wake up the next morning with Jenna at the Boarding House and slowly get out of bed. I quickly shower and put on a blue and pink romper with brown ankle boots and brush my hair out.
I make my way down stairs where I see Elijah, Stefan and Elena conversing. "Good morning." I greet.
They all turn to look at me. "How can you be so happy?" Elena asks.
"I slept well." I answer. "What are we talking about?"
"We are just going over tonight, assuming Klaus will try to break his curse." Elijah addresses.
"Oh right the fake sun and moon curse."
"Yes the curse placed on Klaus."
"So he's a hybrid?" Stefan frowns.
"Yes. Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. If he breaks it, he'll be a true hybrid."
"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today with Bonnie." Damon speaks up.
"Damon." Stefan dismisses.
"No, we aren't using Bonnie, if she uses that much power she will die." Elena expresses.
"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon jokes.
"How do we break this curse?" Stefan asks interrupting Damon.
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, you already know." Elijah begins.
"The moonstone." I identify.
"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."
"And where do I fit into this?" Elena asks.
I turn to look at her. "It's not just you Elena." I remind her. "Where do we fit in?"
"The final part of the ritual." Elijah answers taking a wooden box from the shelf. "Klaus must drink the blood of a doppelgänger to the point of their death." Elijah explains opening up a box and takes out a jar.
"And that's where you come in to save me?" Elena asks smiling.
I smack my head with my hand dramatically and sink onto the couch. God she's infuriating. "We don't know which one of you will be used, but since Briana has found a way to save herself then yes, this elixir that I acquired 500 years ago possesses mystical properties of resuscitation."
"So then she'll be dead." I say a little excited.
"Brie." Elena scolds.
"Whoops sorry I was supposed to say that in my head." I joke and Elijah chuckles.
"And then you won't be." Eljiah finishes.
"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon asks Elena. "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"
"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger's are a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work."
"I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work Elena?"
"Then I guess I'll be dead." Elena replies and I can't help but smile at that.
"What about you Brie, what's your plan?" Damon asks me.
My smirk drops. "Whilst I was away, I made contact with a witch I know and I went to her for help. She mad me a potion, similiar to that elixir, I drink it, and it will be like I'm in a coma, and once the ritual is complete I'll wake a few hours after."
"Where on earth did you find a witch to do that?"
I grin. "As I told Elijah, that secret stays with me, but it does help that, I have friends in the supernatural community, willing to help me." I clue in. "It allowed me to prepare myself since finding out at 15 about the supernatural."
"You what?" Elena shrieks.
"Yeah I found the journals. Dad found me snooping and told me everything." I lie.
"That still doesn't mean anything." Damon chimes in.
"Don't worry about me Damon I'll be just fine." I assure.
"You aren't telling us something."
"I've told you as much as I can without giving any details away, but I'm going to be fine." I repeat and go to leave.
"Where are you going?" Stefan asks.
"To Caroline's." I answer. "When Jenna wakes up, call me."
Jenna POV
I wake up and look to see if Briana is still there but she isn't. Yesterday was a tough day, I was lied at by everyone, but the only one I trust is Briana. Once I'm dressed I walk down stairs into to the hallway. I look up and shout "Get out!" as I see Alaric in the doorway.
"Jenna, Jenna." he shouts.
"Get out." I repeat and grab a crossbow aiming it at him.
"Jenna, put the crossbow down, it's me."
"Stay away from me." I shriek as Stefan, Elena, Damon and Elijah join me in the hall.
"What's going on?" Elena asks confused.
"It's me, Elena, I swear. He let me go. Klaus let me go."
"Prove it." Damon orders.
Alaric turns to me. "Okay, uh, the first night you and I spent together Jeremy walked in right when I was about to."
"Okay, it's him." I interrupt lowering the bow.
"Why'd he let you go?" Stefan asks.
"He wanted me to deliver a message, the sacrifice happens tonight."
"Where is Briana?" I ask.
"She went to Caroline's, I'll call her for you." Stefan answers.
"Don't bother I'll ring her." I decline dialing Brie. "Brie."
"Jenna are you okay?" She asks.
"I just woke up, and you weren't there."
"I'm on the way to The Grill with Caroline, do you want me to come pick you up?"
"No I'll meet you there." I respond and hang up.
"Did you find her?" Alaric asks from behind me.
I nod. "Yes, I'm going to meet up with her."
"You shouldn't be out alone." Rick warns.
"No, don't do that. You don't get to be worried about me, you lied to me."
"Jenna."
"No, stop, I need to go."
Brie POV
"Jenna's not taking this well?" Caroline assumes.
"No, the poor thing cried herself to sleep last night."
"What did Jenna want?"
"To know where I was, she's meeting us at The Grill."
"How are you holding up?" Care asks.
"I'm fine Care, always am." I respond.
"You aren't worried about tonight?"
"No I am not. I know that I will be fine." I respond. "Now let's go to The Grill and get drunk, and enjoy our night."
"Sounds like a brilliant idea."
We arrive at The Grill and Caroline haults when she sees Matt. "Are you okay?" I ask. She nods as Matt notices her. "Let's just go to the bar."
"Good idea."
"Two vodka sodas." I order and the bartender makes our drinks.
"You sure it's a good idea to be drinking during the day?" She asks.
"It'll be fine, they look like normal sodas."
"How often do you do this?"
"All the time, it also helps that my man is older."
"When am I going to meet him?"
"Soon, he's in town actually." I answer.
"Then why aren't you with him?"
"Jenna needed me. Speaking of." I point to the entrance and Jenna walks through in and makes her way over to us. "Hi."
"Hi." She greets hugging me.
"Everything okay at the house?"
"They are figuring out everything for tonight."
"What's tonight?" Care asks.
"Klaus sent Alaric to deliver a message." Jenna answers.
"What was the message?" I ask.
"The sacrifice happens tonight."
"Well it's a good thing you two will be with me today, we should stay together."
"What about the others?"
"Don't worry about the others, they can take care of themselves, and for the record you two will be just fine." I declare.
"How could you be so sure? Katherine turned me for the sacrifice?" Caroline asks.
"Because as well as saving my life I found a way to save yours."
"What how?"
"It's better for you not to know right now, but you two will be not touched, I made sure of it."
"Can we please not talk about this?" Jenna pleads.
"That sounds like a great idea." I respond. "How about we have a day where we just forget about what is going to happen tonight and just have a fun day?"
"I salute to that." Jenna accepts.
A couple hours later Jenna, Caroline and I are a little tipsy and I have informed Jenna and Caroline of what I've experienced on my travels. I've told them little bits about Nik, minus the part where he's going to be killing Elena, but that doesn't have to be addressed until later.
"Elena keeps messaging me." Jenna complains.
"Ignore it." I suggest.
"I can't not this one. Apparently Damon did something stupid and fed Elena his blood."
I raise my eyebrows. "So the elixir won't work?" I say a little to happy.
"Yes and now Elena and Stefan are pissed at Damon."
"Elena probably loves all this attention on her."
"I don't know how you put up with her." Jenna confesses.
"I didn't, I could never handle it, I couldn't defend myself like I can now."
"You really have changed." Caroline smiles.
"Hopefully for the better."
"You have; and I for one am proud of you Brie." Jenna praises.
"You are?"
"You were always the one that I was rooting for."
"Thanks Jenna."
"I think I'm going to leave tonight." She announces suddenly.
Caroline and I turn our heads swiftly. "You what?" I shriek.
She sighs. "I think after finding out about everything I just feel like I don't want to be apart of it."
"Where would you go?" Caroline wonders.
"Maybe travel, finish my degree, move on, you guys don't need me anymore."
"What about Alaric?" I ask.
"He lied to me."
"We all did."
"Yes but you owned up to it." she retorts. "He's lied to me ever since I met him. From Isobel, to Isobel being your birth mother, to this, what else is he hiding?"
"I'll support you with whatever you do." I assure.
"As will I." Caroline agrees.
"How are you handling being a vampire?" Jenna asks Caroline.
"It's hard." Caroline confesses.
"Maybe you should leave for some time too."
"That's what Brie and I are going to do."
"Once all this stuff is over, I'm going to travel for the summer with Care." I explain.
Hours later we are now drunk. My phone buzzes and Nik's name flashes on my screen. "Excuse me girls, my man is calling." I alert excitedly. "Heyy." I slur.
I hear him chuckle over the phone. "Are you drunk love?"
"I may have spent the day drinking with Caroline and Jenna."
"Have you had any water?"
I laugh. "Uh no."
"Listen I'm going to need you to sober up for a second."
I pull the phone from my ear and turn to face Jenna and Caroline. "I'll be right back." I inform them.
"Ok." Caroline responds.
I walk towards the bathrooms. "What is it?" I ask into the phone.
"The sacrifice happens tonight." He announces.
"I heard."
"I'm going to need to come collect you." He explains. "It needs to look like I'm going to use you, so I'm going to be arrogant."
"Aren't you anyway." I joke.
He chuckles. "I'll see you soon love."
"Bye."
I walk back into the bar with a pip to my step. The time has come, all the hard work that we've put into this plan will finally be worth it. "How was your man?" Caroline asks as I return to my seat.
"Good, he misses me, I'll see him after this whole thing is over." I respond.
"Does he know?" Jenna asks.
I nod. "Yes."
"Is he a vampire?" Caroline asks.
I turn to her and smile. "OMG he is isn't he." Jenna speaks up loudly.
I nod. "Yes. He told me everything about what he is, the good, the bad, and I love him."
"How old is he?" Caroline asks.
I'm about to answer when the doors to The Grill open and Damon and Alaric walk in. "Damn we've been caught." I grumble.
The girls turn to face where I'm pointing and see the two men walking towards us. "Where have you three been?" Damon asks worried.
"Where do you think? We've been here all day, the lovely bartender can be a witness to that." I slur.
"You do realise that there is a 1000 year old hybrid after you right?"
"I may be blonde but I'm not dumb." I retort. "I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself, and I have Caroline with me as well as Jenna."
"Who's only just found out about all this." Alaric chimes in.
"We're having fun, or was having fun before we were rudely interrupted."
"You need to go home." Damon orders.
"Later." I decline. "Now if you excuse me, we are going to continue our fun without you." I finish and continue talking to Jenna and Caroline.
"Jenna I think it's time for you to go." Alaric encourgaes.
"I'm not going anywhere." Jenna declines.
"Go Jenna." Caroline and I praise.
"I'm staying with my niece and Caroline."
"It's not safe for you to be out here." Alaric worries.
"And if I had known about this sooner I could've done something about it, but you chose to lie to me."
"We were protecting you."
"Look how well that turned out." Jenna replies dryly.
"Ladies, gentleman, why so glum?" a familiar voice asks.
I sit up straight and turn to look towards Klaus who is sitting there with a huge grin on his face, damn he looks good. "Klaus I presume." Damon assumes.
"In the flesh." Klaus confirms and turns to face me. "Hello Briana."
"You must be the hybrid?" I guess playing my part.
"You seem to be a little drunk."
"That's because I am." I confirm as Damon grabs my wrist telling me to stop. "Ouch."
"Stop." he warns.
I notice Nik's eyes go dark. I rip my arm from Damon's grip angrily. "You need to stop telling me what to do."
"Can we help you?" Damon asks ignoring me.
"I have been informed that you and your brother fancy the dopplegangers." Klaus addresses.
"He doesn't fancy me." I disagree.
"Brie we need to go." Caroline urges.
I turn to Caroline and smile "I'll be fine." I whisper. "Caroline take Jenna home."
"What?" Jenna shrieks.
"I need you to go home please."
"Not without you."
"I need you to trust me, so please just leave, I'll be fine." I promise.
They hesitate but slowly stand up. "If we don't here from you later I'm going to come after you." Caroline declares.
I chuckle loudly. "I wouldn't think anything less."
"Be safe." Jenna wishes and they both leave.
Once they have left I turn back to face Klaus. "Now that my friends have left, tell us the real reason why you're here." I speak up.
"You've got fire." Klaus compliments.
"I do."
"I came here to warn Damon here to not do anything that he would regret."
"Ha, thanks for the advice, I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement?" Damon asks.
"You are kidding?" Klaus asks then turns to Alaric and I. "He is kidding, right?"
"No he isn't." Alaric sighs.
"I mean, come on, what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?" Damon continues digging a deeper hole.
I shake my head covering my eyes. I then look up and see Klaus eyeing me. "Let me be clear, I have my vampire, I have my werewolf, I have everything I need, the ritual will happen tonight, so if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up."
"Is that all?"
"Damon, shut up!" I shush.
"One last thing, I'm here to collect Brie." Klaus announces.
"No can do." I decline.
"It's not a choice." Klaus chuckles. "Brie, please come with me, wouldn't want anyone to die would you?"
I go to stand up. "Don't you dare leave." Damon growls grabbing my wrist again.
"I need you to stop grabbing my arm." I say loudly. "I'm going to do the smart thing and leave on my own terms. I'm not going to have him kill innocent people." I exclaim. "So I suggest you release your grip from my arm and let me go." I enforce and he looks at me in the eyes but I turn away and stand up. "Klaus is it?"
"Yes it is." Klaus confirms.
"I'll go with you, but you are to not hurt any of my friends."
"As long as Damon doesn't screw it up I won't." He responds. "Now we should get going, time is ticking."
I walk away not even looking back. "He's going to screw it up." I whisper.
Klaus and I end up in town. "Did you have to collect me looking so hot." I complain.
He chuckles. "I could say the same thing about you love, but I see that you're even more drunk since I spoke to you."
"Do you think I played my part well?"
"Perfectly love." He grins.
"Do you have everything you need?" I ask.
"I have two wolves held right now, one being Tyler Lockwood but the wolf that kidnapped you is locked up tight."
"Uh yes, the blonde wolf bitch, I can't wait to watch you rip her heart out."
He laughs. "Only you would ask to see something like that."
"I don't see you complaining." I chuckle. "Who's the vampire?"
"I've decided not to use Katherine, death would be to easy." He responds. "I've turned a female from outside of town."
"Then lastly, Elena."
"Good." I smile as we continue walking to the site of the sacrifice. I suddenly hear my phone ring and take it out of my pocket, but as I do I trip "shit." I squeal before I hit the floor Klaus catches me.
"Careful." He warns.
"Sorry I tripped and I'm drunk and wasn't paying attention."
"Go on answer it, whoever it is, is probably worried."
"Care?" I answer into the phone.
"Brie, are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine." I assure. "Are you and Jenna home?"
"Yes, we just got home, Jenna is stressing." Caroline replies.
"She's drunk and scared." I comment. "Go make her some coffee and put her to bed, she needs to sober up."
"Ok I will." She responds. "Are you okay though?"
"I'm fine, I'm actually surprised, I'm currently walking through the woods, but please just stay together, I promise you I will be fine."
"We won't leave each other's side."
"Thank you Care. I will see you soon, and trust me I'll be fine." I promise hanging up.
"It sounds like you have people in your corner." Klaus mentions.
"They always have." I mention. "I always went to them when Elena was a bitch."
"And now here you are; strong, dangerous and more powerful then ever."
"Something that I am thankful of you for, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here." I smile.
He steps closer to me. "I thank heavens I met you in that ally."
"Me too." I agree. "I have no idea what's going to happen tonight, but just know that when this is all over, I'l be waiting for you and we can leave town for the summer and make your Hybrids."
"What about your friend?" Nik asks.
"I'm going to tell her the truth." I answer. "Now stop being so sweet you are potentially going to be sacrificing me." I remind him. "And you know you're going to have to put your hands on me? And potentially drink from me."
"I don't want to do that." He disagrees.
"For this to work, we have to make the other's think you are going to use me, then at the last second chose Elena, it'll make her think she's safe."
He chuckles. "God your evil."
"That I am." I agree and he kisses me. "What was that for?"
"I love you, and thank you for being by my side." He answers.
"Always." I smile and lean up to kiss him softly. It starts off slow but quickly turns heated. I hesitantly break the kiss and look up at him. "Good luck."
"This will be over soon." he whispers putting a piece of my hair behind my ear.
We arrive at a quarry where we find Greta. "Hi Greta." I greet warmly.
"It's good to see you Brie." she replies. "Are you ready to play your part?"
"Yes." I nod. "What do you need me to do?"
She pulls out a small vial. "You are going to need to drink this."
"What is it?" Klaus wonders.
"It's to make Brie fall asleep for some time so that when we bring the others it'll look like she was taken out."
I turn to face Klaus who looks a little uneasy. "Hey! I said I'd do what ever it takes, this is it, so let's just do it." I say grabbing the cup. "How long will I be out?"
"A while. Klaus still has to retrieve the wolf, check on Katerina, get the vampire, as well as Elena."
"Here goes nothing." I sigh drinking the liquid. "Oh that's gross." I wince wiping my lips and immediately start to feel dizzy. "Wow."
"Easy love." Klaus whispers holding me close and lowering me to the ground. "This will be over soon." he whispers as I feel my eyes closing.
"Good luck." I whisper and let the darkness take over.
Klaus POV
I watch as Brie shuts her eyes. "I have to go collect the doppelganger watch over her." I order.
"Will do." Greta responds and I flash off towards the boarding house.
I see the ripper and the doppelgänger outside the Boarding House. "Thanks for today." Elena thanks.
Stefan notices me and puts himself in front of Elena and they both turn their heads to face me. "You got me all nervous for a second, I thought you'd done something stupid, are you ready my dear?" I ask her.
"I'm ready." Elena answers and goes to walk but Stefan stops her.
"No." Stefan expresses.
"I wouldn't, there is no reason for you to die too."
"Stefan, its fine, I'll go. No one needs to get hurt. There's no reason for you to get hurt." Elena whispers and kisses him. God she is infuriating. Now I get why Brie was complaining all the time. "I love you."
"I love you." Stefan says and they kiss. "Wait where is Brie?"
That causes Elena to frown and her eyes go wide and I smirk. "I picked her up earlier." I answer.
"Then why are you using me?" Elena asks confused.
I smirk and take a step towards her. "You'll see in due time, but for now, we are running late, let's go."
"Where is Brie?" Stefan asks a little louder.
I turn to look at him and smirk. "Where Elena will be." I answer vaguely.
"Stefan, it's okay, just close your eyes, close your eyes." Elena encourages. Stefan hesitates but closes them and I flash off with Elena.
Damon POV
Matt, Tyler and I are running through the woods when my phone rings and I see it's Stefan. "Bad time little bro."
"What the hell are you doing?" Stefan shouts into the phone.
"Saving the day, I figured you'd understand. Just tell Elena to stay put."
"She's already gone."
"He has both of them?" I question.
"Yes and I don't know where." Stefan confirms.
"Don't worry I'll take care it." I finish and hang up just as Tyler bends over growling.
"Tyler." Matt shrieks.
"I don't know if I can hold it off, get out of here." Tyler shouts. "It's happening faster." He growls as his eyes flash yellow and he rushes towards Matt but I intercept him and we fall to the ground. I push Tyler away and in the process he bites me.
"Damon." Matt yells.
"I'm fine."
"Get out of here." Tyler growls.
"Go, get him to the lockwood celler, lock him up, if it doesn't work, use these." I direct handing Matt some wooden bullets and a gun. "It'll buy you some time. Now go."
Klaus POV
I enter the history teachers apartment frustrated. "Where's Maddox? He should be back by now?" I ask Katherine angryiky.
"I don't know." Katherine answers as I sit down and open my lap top and play the live video and see the wolf that kidnapped Brie. "What are you doing? Where's Brie and Elena?"
"I sent them off with Greta." I answer as I see Jules trying to transition. "It's almost time." I smile just as the door opens. "I wasn't aware you'd been invited in." I acknowledge the eldest Salvatore.
"I've come here to tell you that you have to postpone the ritual." Damon addresses.
"Didn't we already have this conversation?"
"Yes but that was before I rescued your werewolf and killed your witch."
"Excuse me." I growl as I turn to face Damon.
"And you can kill me for it I don't care."
"Katherine, give us a moment." I order and she leaves the room. "I heard about you. The crazy vampire in love with his brother's girl and has feelings for the other doppelgänger." I address. "I knew one of you would try to stop me, it was a just a 50/50 guess who."
"Where is Brie?" Damon asks.
My eyes go wide. "Maybe you aren't so in love with Elena Gilbert than you put on, maybe it's Brie." I guess. He looks away. "You arent denying it, well it's a shame for you that your plan backfired." I announce and show him the video of Jules. "The nice thing about werewolves is they tend to travel in packs. Need a closer look?" I ask and throw him a cellphone.
"Jules." He whispers.
"When you spend a thousand years trying to break a curse you learn a thing or two. First rule; always have a backup. Backup werewolf, backup witch."
"Who's the vampire?" Damon wonders.
"Don't you worry about that, I got that covered too." I smirk and send him a grin and quickly snap his neck and he collapses to the floor temporarily dead. I grin and flash out of the apartment.
Elena POV
I'm walking through the forest with one of Klaus's witches. "Where are we going?" I ask scared.
"This way." Greta answers vaguely.
"You're Luka's sister, aren't you? I heard about you. He and your father were looking for you."
"They were wasting their time I wasn't lost."
I trip over a rock. "I can't see anything." I whisper and Greta lights fires around us. I see someone on the ground and it takes me a while to realise who it is and I can't help but smile. "Is that my sister?"
"Don't sound so happy." Greta scolds.
"Why am I here, let me go?"
"Sorry, direct orders from Klaus you are to not leave; he has plans for both of you."
I look down at my unconcious sister. "What did he do?"
"Klaus didn't want to take any risks, so he kept her quiet."
"Serves her right."
"I wouldn't be so cocky, he has plans for you and your sister, so sit tight it's going to be a bumpy night." Greta warns and waves her hand to make a ring of fire appear around me.
