After that discussion with Hanamura Daichi and his parents, Subaru was placed into a cell. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to go home until after his court hearing, which is a week from now. Due to this, Subaru had plenty of time to himself, so he can think. He started thinking about his friends, and about Emilia.

"God, I miss them so much…" Subaru loved being back home and with his parents, but he felt lonely, more than usual. Subaru literally had no one else besides his parents. And the woman he loved so much isn't here with him, the woman he has suffered so much to save and protect. And don't even get started on Rem, another woman he loves. He hates himself, because of the fact he left them behind, but he would have to trust Od Laguna to protect them. But thinking about that, he is starting to think there is something wrong with his memories. Why may you ask? It is because Subaru remembers being in the Pleiades Tower, and him being at the mansion with all his friends would be in conflict with those memories.

Subaru remembers Satella basically devouring the tower, including him with shadows, and the Divine Dragon, Volcanica, was doing something with his magic. Whatever happened sent him back to his home, due to Od Luguna as well. "It's possible that due to all of the magic surrounding the tower during that time, I was hallucinating because of all that magic fucking with my head, making me see what I wanted to see the most at that moment." Subaru said to himself quietly, not wanting the police officers to hear him.

Luckily, he wouldn't be alone with his thoughts for the entire time. Subaru's parents brought over his TV, blu ray player, some of his anime, manga, and some light novels, with permission from Hanamura Daichi.

"Hey Subaru! Look at what we brought!" Kenichi said as he was bringing in a flatscreen TV, Subaru's flatscreen TV.. And behind him was Naoko, bringing in a box. As she put the box down in front of the cell, he saw that the box is filled with some of his anime, manga, and light novels.

"At the bottom of all of this, is your Blu-ray player. So you can watch your anime while you wait for your court hearing." Naoko said while smiling at her soon. (It feels so wrong for Subaru to be punished for helping someone. He doesn't deserve this.) Naoko thought to herself.

"Really? Aw hell yeah! Uh, how am I gonna use the TV and the Blu-ray player if there are no power outlets in here?"Subaru asked his parents while pointing at the wall. He knew it was most likely a pain in the ass for them to move his things, but he had to ask the obvious question. There is no way without some extension cords. That's when his dad decided to answer his question.

"That is why we brought some extension cords with us!" Kenichi said as he brought out the extension cords, showing them off in a triumphant way. He knew his son was gonna ask that question. (What does Subaru take me and Naoko for? A couple of dumbasses? He should know that his parents are a lot smarter than he thinks.) Kenichi thought to himself while plugging the extension cords into the wall.

"Uh, do you mind if you can open the cell for a minute? Don't worry, if he tries to escape, I will chase him down and put him back myself." Kenichi said. He really meant everything he said. He believes that his son is innocent and does not deserve this, but he sure as hell wasn't going to let his son break out. (And besides, I don't Subaru is stupid enough to try that crap anyway. Or at least, I hope.) Kenichi thought to himself

The cop unlocks the cell door so Subaru's parents can put his stuff in. Subaru was happy that he will be able to keep himself busy for a while. Anime, manga, and light novels, an otaku's safe place. He could've swore he saw Gurren Lagann in the box. (I was thinking about rewatching that anyway. Talk about good luck, or as lucky as you can get being me. This might not be so bad after all.) Subaru happily thought to himself. He honestly thought he was gonna have to share a cell with someone who is more than likely to rape him in his sleep, like what he has saw in memes.

"We knew you wouldn't want to be alone with your thoughts too much, so we asked Hanamura-san if we could bring some of your stuff here, and we explained your PTSD to him from what happened. He gave us the ok to do this, part of the reason being that he owed me a favor for something I did for him back then." Kenichi said while looking really proud of himself, and happy that he was able to do something for his son.

"Do you think you'll be okay here, Subaru? I'm asking because of the nightmares." Naoko said. Feeling guilty that she won't be here for him when he is having his night terrors.

"Never thought you would have to see your son in a place like this, huh? Don't worry mom, I'll be okay. I've been through worse. Also, the nightmares have been letting up a bit in the last few months." Subaru truthfully said. For the last few months, Subaru has been feeling this warm, calming presence inside of himself. He still has his night terrors, but this presence is sometimes able to calm him down. He doesn't know what it is, but it feels familiar for some reason.

"That's good, honey. Who knows? It's possible that your nightmares might be going away." Naoko said to her son, relieved that she may not have to sleep with him anymore. It's not because she dislikes it, it's because he's old enough to sleep by himself and she wanted to sleep with her husband again.

"That's a relief Subaru. I'm happy for you." said Kenichi, genuinely happy that his son is improving. It broke his heart every time he had to see his son scream in his sleep while having tears stream down his face, as if he was in pain. Every Time this happened, he would wonder about what horrors his son went through in that other world. Hearing about how his son's nightmares have decreased, Kenichi was ecstatic.

"Well, we got to go son. We have some errands to run, and we do got to pack up your stuff for Tokyo. Take care, and call us if you need anything, alright?" Kenichi said with a frown. He didn't want to leave his one and only son like this, and Naoko was thinking the same thing. He was just happy that Subaru will most likely not go to prison and will be able to continue school, even if it means he has to be away from them.

"Take care, Subaru! I'll try to bring some homemade mayo tomorrow! Love you!" Naoko says with a smile and a wave.

"Hey! I love you too, son! Just try not to get into more trouble!" Kenichi said while smirking and saluting Subaru.

"Hey, I love you guys too! Be careful while you are driving!" Subaru said while grinning. Subaru will never be able to express to them how much he loves and values them. It's just impossible.

Now that the TV and Blu-ray player is hooked up, time to watch anime! And what anime is Subaru gonna watch? The answer is so obvious: Gurren Lagann. Seriously, who doesn't like seeing giant robots kicking the ever living shit out of each other. And it seems he's not the only one here who likes this genre…

"Hey kid! What are you watching?" said one cop, curious about what the nasty eyed boy is watching. And he feels like this show is familiar.

"Oh this? It's Gurren Lagann, my favorite anime." Subaru said to the cop, being completely honest. And then the cop smiled.

"Hey! My son watches this show. He's fourteen years old. I've watched some of this with him and I enjoyed it." The cop said to Subaru with a smile.

"What is there to not like about this anime? Seriously, mecha anime is a badass genre, and this anime supports what I just said!" Subaru said as nostalgia filled him, causing him to think about all the times he had rewatched this anime.

"Mind if I watch this too?" The cop asked, genuinely wanting to watch the show.

"Hell yeah! Anime is meant to be watched with multiple people!" Subaru said, smiling while talking about the great art known as anime. Little did Subaru know that more and more cops are gonna be watching this with him.

Night Time

Subaru is going to sleep. Surprisingly, more cops showed up, asking to watch Gurren Lagann. Like Subaru has always said about anime, anime is what binds people together. Well, as much as he wanted to stay awake, he had to go to sleep.

He was having his usual nightmare, his failed loops. There are ones where he got disemboweled, dismembered, cursed to death, had half of his head turned into bloody bits by a morningstar belonging to a certain blue haired maid, being tortured by Rem, Frozen to death, being eaten alive, and many other deaths. Due to those being memories, he could still feel the pain of his deaths. He could still feel the rabbits eating his flesh. And he is pretty sure he is screaming in his sleep right now. That is until he felt a familiar presence and heard a voice…

"I'm sorry that Betty isn't there with you right now, I suppose. But, I can at least help Betty's Subaru with his nightmares. Just know that even though I'm not wherever you are physically, I will always be there for you, in fact. Just wait, Betty will get to wherever you are, somehow." The warm and familiar presence said. And just like that, Subaru's nightmare was washed away, and replaced with happy dreams and a peaceful sleep.

Morning

"Beatrice?" Subaru said while rubbing his eyes and looking around, not able to find his cute spirit loli. Subaru knew that was her he heard in his dreams, and he knew that was her presence he felt. Subaru was sure of it. He didn't notice until now, but there were tears streaming from his eyes. But they weren't tears of sadness. They were tears of happiness, happiness for hearing a voice of someone he holds so dear to his heart after so long.

Beatrice is the first and only spirit Subaru has ever contracted with. His nickname for her is Beako. When they first met, Beatrice didn't like him too much. She would verbally abuse him and send him flying out of the Forbidden Library using magic. That was until Elsa the Bowel Hunter and Melil the Mabeast Tamer were sent to the mansion to kill everyone there. Beatrice was told by Echidna, the Witch of Greed, to stay there and await the one who is supposed to come and kill her, ending her 400 years of loneliness. While the mansion was burning down, along with the Forbidden Library, Subaru made a contract with Beatrice and she accepted it. Subaru made the contract with her to save her and to put an end to the Great Rabbit, which was already attacking the Sanctuary. (Well, Beako did say she will find a way to come here. That is great news actually. But, I wonder if it is a one way trip for her. Now that I think about it, contracts are soul bound, so it is possible that she can use my soul as a tether to come here. Well, time to get started with my day and enjoy it while I can until the day of the court hearing.) Subaru thought to himself as he was getting out of bed.

One Week Later

It's been a week since Subaru was arrested. Kenichi and Naoko came to the police department to go with Subaru to his court hearing, but when they were near the cell he was being held in, they could hardly believe what they were seeing.

There were a bunch of cops in front of Subaru's cell. Some were sitting in chairs, some were sitting on the floor, and some were standing up. They were cheering about something going on in Subaru's cell.

"Come on! Drill that anti spiral bitch, Simon!" yelled one cop while pumping his fist into the air like a maniac.

"God, this anime is so badass! The mechs in it are badass too! I want one!" said another cop with a goofy looking grin.

The cops in front of his cell were just cheering and watching. Naoko and Kenichi had a good idea about what they were watching. Hanamura Daichi also came into the room as well. He wasn't shocked at all, he acted like this has been happening, because it had been happening ever since Subaru was put into that cell.

"Guys, I know you all like Gurren Lagann and I know you all like Subaru. I actually like that anime and the kid, and I have come down here a few times to watch this with you all a few times, but you all have to get back to work." Hanamura Daichi said in a commanding voice, but one of understanding and with a grin. Naoko and Kenichi were confused.

Groans were heard from among the group of cops, but they knew that their Chief was right. "Good luck with your court hearing, Subaru!" one cop said while waving at Subaru with a smile.

"Thanks! Good luck with your wife and kids, Shiki-san!" Subaru said while waving back at the cops as they walked away.

"I can see that both of you are shocked. Well, ever since he came here, Subaru has been a hit with the other cops. They actually enjoyed his company, and not to mention the anime that he was watching." said Hanamura while having a smile of fondness on his face.

"He's just like his father in that regard. But this is surprising, because he was a shut-in for a little while." Naoko said.

"A shut-in? Him? What for?" Hanamura said while being confused. He would have never guessed that the kid was formerly a shut in.

"It was his first year in High School. Due to his personality, he wasn't able to make friends. He tried, but he couldn't do it. Eventually, he no longer saw a point in going to school, so he stopped attending school and became a shut-in. When he came back a week after he went missing, he was happy to be back home and alive. He then decided to complete his first year in High School, which he was able to do. He improved himself. He still hasn't made any friends, but he at least talks to people." Kenichi said, honestly proud of how far his son had come. Not to mention the fact that his son actually had some kind of magical abilities and, from what he told them, he had been a knight for a half elf woman who was a candidate for the throne of Lugunica, the country he was summoned to. Kenichi knew that Subaru was going to grow up to do great things, but he never would have thought that his very own son would get summoned to another world and be some bigshot hero over there.

"You sound like you are proud of Subaru because of how much he has improved since then." Hanamura said. He actually thought it was incredible that a shut-in was able to break out of that mindset and resume their lives, and gain the want to improve themselves, to be better than they once were. That actually sounds really inspiring to him.

After Subaru got ready, he was put into a cop car and his parents were allowed to go with them. Once they got out and walked into the court house, they had to sit in a waiting room. Subaru was nervous. He has faced and felt death countless times, and yet...he was so scared about being in a courtroom. He always thought he would be in one of these, but he was still nervous and he never thought he would be in court for assault.

"Court hearing for...Natsuki Subaru! Is there a Natsuki Subaru here?" asked some man with glasses, which Subaru assumed is the call guy, which means it is time to be judged.

"You got this, Subaru. Me and your mother believe in you." Kenichi said to his son while giving him a thumbs up and his trademark smile.

"Don't worry Subaru, you'll do just fine. So don't be so nervous, ok?" Naoko said with a smile.

Subaru nodded his head and then walked into the courtroom, alongside his parents. It was smaller than he thought it would be, and there aren't too many people here. He assumes is because his crime is a simple assault, not like some kind of murder or a massive tax fraud. The call guy led him to this black table with a steel chair while his parents sat down in the first row of chairs that was behind him.

"Sit." The judge commanded, in a deep and serious way that demands respect. Subaru obeyed the command and sat down in the dark steel chair, hands in his lap, facing the judge, who happens to be an old tough looking man. He actually reminds Subaru of a friend of his, Wilhelm van Astrea, the Sword Demon.

"Are you Natsuki Subaru?" asked the judge

"Yes sir." Subaru said respectfully.

"You are seventeen years old, and the only son of Natsuki Kenichi and Natsuki Naoko, correct?" the judge asked.

"Yes sir." Subaru said, respectfully again.

"You were arrested last week for assault, and there was an eyewitness at the scene of the crime. Why did you do it?" The Judge asked him, with one eyebrow raised.

"I'm not gonna lie to you, your honor. The man I assaulted was assaulting a woman and he was trying to put her in his car. As someone with some morals, I wasn't going to sit by and let that crap happen. So yeah, I assaulted him. And I'm not afraid to do it again." Subaru told him, meaning every word he has said.

"Hmmmm?" The judge was looking into Subaru's eyes and he could tell that he meant every word, and he had the determination to back it up. This kid is amusing to him.

"Heh, I like your spirit kid, but I still have to punish you according to the law. Do you understand?" The judge asked. He was actually glad this kid did what he did. He read the reports and could tell that those reports were fabricated, but he wouldn't be able to prove it. But even so, unfortunately he still has to punish the kid. And his sentence is actually pretty light anyways.

"Don't worry. No hard feelings from me." Subaru told the judge. He knew this might be foolish and a naive way to think, but he is happy that he was able to help that woman, even after what happened had happened.

"Okay then, one year of probation in Tokyo and you will still go to school. You have to go there tomorrow. You will not be able to leave Tokyo unless it is on a school field trip or an familial emergency. And if you get expelled, you are pretty much done for. Good luck Natsuki Subaru, and this court hearing is dismissed!" The judge says, and then proceeds to use his mallet and slammed it on his desk, signalling that the hearing is over.

Subaru got up from his chair and walked towards the exit doors as his parents stood up to follow him. He is glad that the judge wasn't an asshole. And it looks like Hanamura-san was right after all. He was getting one year probation in Tokyo and he will be able to continue school, thank god. Now, he's got to go home, start packing up his stuff, and leave in the morning. It is not gonna be as easy as it sounds.

Nighttime

Naoko and Kenichi went ahead and sent over a bunch of his stuff, including his flatscreen TV, to where he is supposed to be living in Tokyo. As soon as he got home, he ate dinner with his family and afterwards, he went to bed so he could wake up early. (Damn, I'm gonna miss Mom's cooking.) Subaru sadly thought to himself. In his opinion, his mom is the best cook in all of existence. The only person who could even come close to his mom in terms of cooking, is Rem.

"Rem…" Subaru whimpered in a tone full of guilt. He has known Rem ever since he first came to Roswaal's mansion. Subaru and Rem and a very rocky relationship when they first met each other. Subaru didn't mind Rem and he genuinely wanted to become her friend, but Rem didn't like Subaru because of the Witch's scene that radiates off of him, because he and her sister have had a traumatic past with the Witch's Cult. They destroyed their village and killing every oni except for Rem and her older sister, Ram. Afterwards, Roswaal found them and took them in, hiring them as maids.

Subaru had suffered and died( two times from her) to get her to trust him, and it wasn't until after the mabeast invasion that Rem finally trusted him with her life and had fallen in love with the nasty eyed boy. Afterwards, she would follow him wherever he went. She would always stay by his side and protect him. She even stayed with him after Emilia abandoned him at the Capital after the whole Royal Selection fiasco and fought the White Whale alongside him. She even died for him, in multiple loops. The last time he saw her...was when he finally told her that he loved her.

"Fucking Gluttony…" Subaru said, with his voice full of venom. The Sin Archbishop of the Witch's Cult, representing Gluttony, is the bastard who ate Rem's name and memories, the one who put her into a coma. Subaru hated that piece of shit with every fiber of his being. He never hated someone as much as he hated Gluttony. Even after his death, Subaru still hates him. He wishes he could have hurt that fucker before Ram beheaded him.

Subaru couldn't help but feel guilty for Rem. He always felt like he could have done more to save her. He always blamed himself for what had happened. She was one of the reasons why he would commit self harm, why he scratches his own arms. Subaru still self harms, even after he has been sent back to his world. All of the self hate, depression and guilt is still there, he just keeps it hidden well enough so that his parents don't notice. He feels guilty just thinking what would happen if they figured it all out. That just makes Subaru hate himself even more, especially after how he basically left Lugunica and everyone he had ever called friend there. Emilia deserved better than him. So did Rem, Ram, Petra, Crusch, Frederica, Garfiel, Otto, Reinhard, Wilhelm, Felix, his parents, even fucking Roswaal of all people deserved better. (Maybe if I was better, I probably could have pulled him out of that pit, helping him become a better person in the process.) Subaru thought to himself, full of self loathing.

But that's enough of that for tonight. Subaru has a big day ahead of him tomorrow, so he can't really afford to be exhausted and tired just from lack of sleep. (I just hope the nightmares won't bother me tonight either.) Subaru said to himself. He has been having good dreams lately, and he thinks Beatrice has something to do with it since he has been sensing her presence within him, especially in his dreams.

"Heh, I'm gonna be gone for a whole year. Well, it isn't gonna be anything new, due to me already being isekai'd. Well, hopefully the year isn't gonna be too long. Here's to hoping at least...god help me." Subaru said to himself as he fell soundlessly asleep, the nightmares being kept at bay by Beatrice's presence.

The Dreams

Subaru found himself in a blank white void. There was nothing in sight, nothing except for a little girl with blond hair with twin drill tails, wearing a fancy red dress in the distance. Wait what?!

"That can't be right...Beako!" Subaru shouted to get the loli spirit's attention. It seemed to have worked, considering that she is now looking at him, with a relieved expression on her face.

When Beatrice heard her contractor's voice and that nickname he gave her being yelled out, she turned around only to see her contractor, Natsuki Subaru, the man who ended her 400 years of loneliness. Beatrice didn't waste any time thinking, she just ran to her contractor, feeling happiness and relief at having finally found him, even if it is in this dream world. Subaru had his arms outstretched, wanting a hug from his precious Beako. Beatrice was happy to oblige and she jumped into his arms when she got close enough, tears of happiness falling from her cheeks.

"Subaru...SUBARU! I've found you! I've finally found you, even if it is in this dreamscape, I suppose!" Beatrice screamed out as she was being embraced by her beloved contractor, the man that had vanished without a trace. She is so happy to be finally reunited with Subaru.

"It's all Beako, I missed you too. I missed you so much!" Subaru said as he was sobbing. He finally got to see his adorable Beako again and he is happy about it. Finally, there was another light in his life, next to his parents.

But along with happiness, also came the self loathing, the self hatred. It was like a fire within Subaru, that is always burning and exploding out when moments like this happen, moments that cause him to get emotional. Ever since he came to Lugunica, discovered what his power was, and walked through the hell that he did, he has convinced himself that he does nothing but bring death and misfortune wherever he goes, even to himself.

"I am so sorry Beatrice...I AM SO SORRY! I abandoned everyone! Everyone I have fought for, bled for, and suffered for! I even abandoned you too, even after I promised you that I would always be there for you! I am such a sorry excuse for a person, a sorry excuse for a spirit contractor! I couldn't keep my promises! All I ever do is fail and cause nothing but pain, death and misery, over and over again, everywhere I fucking go! I could have found a way that kept Rem and Crusch from getting attacked by Greed and Gluttony! If I wasn't so goddamn useless, that could have been avoided! No one would have suffered!" Subaru yelled out in sorrow, meaning every word he had just said, and Beatrice knew that he meant every word. She was always saddened when Subaru was like this. She knows what happened to the maid and the duchess is part of what is causing him to be like this, but there is something more behind his self hatred. Something much worse. And then, Subaru kneeled down to her level, grabbed her shoulders and looked her in the eyes, his eyes full of sorrow, pain, and guilt.

"It's all my fault...EVERYTHING! I am nothing but trash that is masquerading as a hero! A pathetic, useless fraud! I don't deserve you, my parents...anyone! All I have ever been is a pain in the ass! I am nothing but a hindrance, a parasite! I don't get what you, Emilia, my parents or everyone else sees in me! Hell, I just caused my parents even more trouble just recently! God, I really am a waste of space…" Subaru said as more tears streamed down his face. The self loathing, the guilt, and the sorrow had reached its peak. Over the few months that he has been back on Earth, all of these emotions have been accumulating over time, and now was the time for him to vent them all out. But before he could continue, Beatrice had slapped him. Subaru turned to look at the loli, still shocked from the slap.

"Why do you think everything is your fault?! Why do you think you have to take the blame for every little thing that goes wrong, in fact?! What happened to the maid and the duchess isn't your fault! None of this is your fault, in fact! You are not useless, you are not a fraud, you are not a parasite nor are you a waste of space! You are the reason why everyone back in Lugunica is alive! You are the reason why Betty is alive! You are the reason why Betty is happy now! Why can't you see the kind of man you truly are, I suppose?!" Beatrice screamed as she looked at Subaru, with a shocked expression on his face as he looked at the spirit loli. (I'm useful? I'm not worthless? I'm not a parasite? What a load of bullshit.) Subaru bitterly thought to himself as he chuckled.

"If you have not done anything, then how is anyone in the Emilia Camp still alive? Everyone in the camp, including Betty, would've died a long time ago if it weren't for you, in fact. You are the reason that we are still alive. Betty doesn't know what you have gone through, but you must have suffered to keep everyone safe, if your night terrors and self harming are any indicators, in fact." Beatrice said as she walked closer to Subaru, and put her hand on his left cheek. Beatrice looked at Subaru and smiled.

"Yes, you are physically weak, and you are not great at magic, but mentally, emotionally, and in willpower and determination? Nope! Betty's contractor is the strongest in those areas, in fact! Subaru, you inspire those around you, you brighten the day of everyone around you. You are a great person, a great man, a great contractor, and a great friend, in fact!" Beatrice said, her tone of voice being filled with sincerity. Subaru looked at her with an expression of disbelief, but he felt happy to be told this, especially by his Beako. Subaru at this point didn't care whether this was real or not, he was just happy to be told this by Beatrice. But then, the white void started blinking. Subaru and Beatrice knew what this meant.

"It seems that I am waking up now. All of the pain is still there, but I feel better. Thank you Beako, for talking to me and everything, even if you might not be real. I don't know if I will ever see you in the real world again, but I hope I will one day. I will miss you, Beako…" Subaru said with tears forming in his eyes. He didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay here with Beatrice, even if she was just a figment of his imagination. But unfortunately, it seems he is waking up. And just like that, as he was holding out his hand towards her, the void had vanished. But before it did, Subaru heard Beatrice say…

"Betty told you that she will find her way towards you, and she meant it, in fact. Betty will be there soon, Subaru."

The Day Has Come

"BEAKO!" Subaru yelled out as he woke up with a jolt. He put his hand to his face, only to feel something wet...tears. He was crying. He doesn't know whether or not that was just a dream, but he was still happy that he got to see Beatrice again. Subaru wishes he can just hop back into that dream, but then, he heard a knock on his door.

"Subaru, it's time to get up and get dressed. You have to go to Tokyo due to your probation." Naoko said through his bedroom door. (That's right, I'll have to go to Tokyo today. Hopefully, I can just hurry up and get this day over with.) Subaru thought to himself as got up from his bed so he could get dressed.

Once Subaru got his tracksuit on, he went into the kitchen to eat breakfast with his parents. His mother cooked him grits, bacon, sausage, and eggs with a side of mayonnaise. Naoko has always known what kind of food her son loves. And the mayo? Just like their son, Naoko and Kenichi have always had a mayonnaise addiction, and they are the reason why Subaru loves mayo so much after all. But they were worried about how Subaru was handling all of this. He was arrested for assaulting some drunk ass hat that was also assaulting a woman, and got sentenced to having one year probation in Tokyo, all in a week.

"Subaru, are you okay son?" Kenichi asked, worried for his son's mental health. Sure, they tried to help him with his problems since he has been back, and he has gotten better, but those issues are still there. Kenichi wanted to help Subaru and be there for him, but he is going to Tokyo by himself. Kenichi is worried about how this will affect Subaru's already messed up state.

"I'm okay Dad. I just had a hard time sleeping." Subaru wasn't lying, especially with what he saw in his dream last night. He was trying to figure whether what happened in that dream was real or not. Could Beatrice actually find a way here, to Subaru's world? (No, I'm not that lucky. I have never been that lucky.) Subaru bitterly thought to himself.

Naoko was worried about Subaru as well, and for the same reasons as her husband. Subaru wasn't the kind of person to vent out to someone. Subaru is the kind of person to bottle up his emotions, until it all hits the peak. After Subaru cleared his plate, he stood up to walk away, but he was hugged by Naoko.

"Mom? What are you doing?"asked Subaru, genuinely confused about what is going on. He was trying to figure out what was going on, what he did wrong. But, he also felt comfortable and warm while being hugged by his mother. And then, he hugged her back.

"Subaru, I don't know what is bothering you or what is going on with you, and I know you won't tell us but, just know that we will always love you, no matter what." Naoko said while holding Subaru. She wanted to make her son feel like he is loved and that he could tell them anything he wants to, that he can trust them. And then, Kenichi got up and joined in the hug.

"Aw, come on! Of course I got to join in this too! Subaru, your mother is right. We do want to help you. We might not be able to stay with you in Tokyo, but you can call us whenever you want to. We will talk to you whenever you want, ok?" Kenichi said while looking at his son. Kenichi knew there was something going on with his son. A father does know these kinds of things, and so do mothers. Kenichi just wants his son to tell him and Naoko what is wrong, if he is ok. But they both know that is not gonna happen. Subaru is the kind of person who would rather keep that pain to himself rather than let someone else see that pain. Subaru felt happy and warm about this whole situation, but it made it all the more heartbreaking that he had to leave for a full year. But, it is great to know that his parents will remain on his side.

"Thank you guys for sticking with me through everything. Believe it or not, both of you are the reason why I am still somewhat sane. Not to mention, you are the ones who pushed me to do better in school. You two are the reason why someone like me got so far. I love you, both of you." Subaru said with a smile. Subaru was glad to have people who actually love and care for him. He always has been happy to have people feel that way towards him, but he feels like he doesn't deserve any of it. But right now, he doesn't care about his self hatred because he has something much more important right in front of him. He wants to take in as much as he can before he has to go away for a year. Subaru is etching this moment into his mind, into his very soul, so he has something to look back on and enjoy. (Man, it really is gonna be a long year, huh?) Subaru thought to himself, about his current predicament.

After breakfast, Naoko and Kenichi took Subaru to a train station so he could take a train to Shibuya. The car ride was silent, except for the radio. Subaru had some time to think about things. He wondered what his life would be like in Tokyo, and at the school he was going to. Hanamura-san said that the school is called Shujin Academy. It honestly sounded like some kind of fancy ass school. Was he gonna actually have friends there? Most likely not, but he can hope. Subaru was also scared that he was gonna mess up his introduction, just like he did at the beginning of his first year in high school. Subaru learned some self control, but he still had the powerful urge to do his pose whenever he meets someone new, or when someone asks for his name. (Heh, some things never change, no matter how much you wish they would. But seriously though, I don't want to fuck up my introduction again! I don't want to look like some moron who watches anime too much! I just hope I don't start doing JoJo poses on impulse.) Subaru thought to himself in a frantic manner.

Naoko and Kenichi were scared, anxious, and worried. Why wouldn't they be? Their son is going to Tokyo without them to help him, to be there for him. They were worried about how Subaru was going to react to his new surroundings. Would he be okay? Happy? They don't have the answers, and they hope they will get the answers from Subaru as soon as he gets there. They are also hoping that Subaru will make some friends at Shujin Academy. Subaru told them that he had friends in that other world. Naoko and Kenichi were happy to know this until they remembered that Subaru can not return to that world. Even though Subaru would tell them that he is ok, they know that is not true. They encouraged Subaru to go make some friends during his first year when he came back, but that encouragement was in vain, so they hope that this time will be different.

After 5 more minutes of driving around, the Natsuki family finally reached the train station that will take their son to Tokyo. They all got out of the car, opening the car doors, taking off their seat belts, and then standing up. The Natsuki family just looks at each other, before engaging into a group hug to say their temporary farewells.

"We'll miss you, Subaru. You got our house phone and cell phone numbers, right?" Kenichi asked with an eyebrow raised in a questioning look.

"Yes! I got the cell phone numbers and house phone number saved on my phone, so no need to get your britches in a twist, jeez." Subaru said with an exasperated expression on his face, meaning that his parents asked him the same question before.

"Okay, we just wanted you to be careful Subaru. You don't know what kind of trouble you will run into in the city. Just know if you need us, call us. I love you, Subaru." Naoko said as she gave Subaru a motherly kiss on the cheek, something he welcomed.

"I know. Don't worry, I will be careful and I will call you when I get to that Sojiro guy's place. And I love both of you as well." Subaru said as the family hug was disengaged. As Subaru was walking towards the train station, he turned around to see his parents. He waved towards them while smiling, but with a sad look in his eyes. As he got on the train to head towards Shibuya, he took one last look at his parents and saw them staring at the train like a couple of hawks and looked in his direction, trying to make sure that he is on the train safely

Subaru is now on the train, heading into an unfamiliar environment. He was nervous, and understandably so. He is temporarily moving to Tokyo without his parents. Not to mention, he has to go to another, completely different school due to being expelled from his old one. (All because of him!) Subaru angrily thought to himself, his wrath boiling due to that asshole. Everytime he thought of that piece of shit that had put him into this situation, he felt bloodlust and rage within himself. He wanted to kill the bastard. Subaru calmed down and took a little nap before he got to Shibuya.

The noise of the train and it's shaking woke Subaru up from a dream he doesn't remember. Subaru was surprised and had a bit of a headache. When he was jolted awake, Subaru took a frantic look around to make sure there wasn't anything dangerous about to happen to him, a habit he picked up due to his numerous deaths in Lugunica. Subaru was a lot more cautious now because he isn't sure if he has Return by Death anymore. He still has Invisible Providence and Cor Leonis, but he does not want to test and see if he still has Return by Death out of fear of permanently dying.

"We will be arriving in Shibuya shortly. This is the last stop for this line. Please transfer here for all subway lines" The Intercom said above the passengers heads.

"Man, that thing is loud!" Subaru said while his ears are still ringing. Subaru covered his ears, and all the intercom did was make his headache even worse. It feels like someone is beating his brain as if it was a drum. After his headache calmed, he looked forward and saw two girls talking.

"Are you for real? A mental shutdown?" The girl on the right said, Subaru assuming that the girl on the left is her friend. "It's the truth!" the girl on the left exclaimed. "But to a person though? That has to be a joke. You really love those occult stuff, don't you?" the girl on the right said, while chuckling with her friend.

(A mental shutdown? What the hell is that? I have no idea about what this is, I don't really watch the news. I mostly just watch anime that I bought physically and digitally and play video games. I just hope nothing bad happens.) Subaru said as he came to a possible conclusion. "Shit! I just jinxed myself!" Subaru said as he facepalms, feeling like a dumbass while everyone is staring at him. "Sorry, first day in Tokyo. I'm a bit stressed out" Subaru said while chuckling and sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. Everyone just stopped staring at him and went back to what they were doing. Subaru just kept to himself while looking outside the windows to admire how tall Tokyo's buildings are until the train stopped. As soon as the train stopped and the intercom informed the passengers that they had arrived at Shibuya, Subaru got up and exited the train.

As Subaru was walking around, he was still amazed by Tokyo's buildings and the amount of people here. His hometown wasn't this big, so he had a hard time getting used to the crowd. Subaru is just walking around while looking at his phone, before this weird looking app showed up. The icon was red, it had an eye in the middle with a star in it's pupil. "What the hell is this? And why does it look so freaking weird? Eh, I'm just gonna delete it, probably some app I accidentally downloaded from some ad." Subaru said while tapping on his phone, but the icon took up most of his screen and his phone wasn't doing shit. Subaru looked up from his phone, only to find some guy who was talking behind just stopped, as if he was frozen in time. As Subaru looked around, he saw that happen for everyone else, even cars and bikes were frozen in place. Subaru was getting scared of what might be happening, and he shouted out the name of the person that he knows that is associated with time.

"SATELLA! DID YOU DO THIS!?" Subaru screamed at the top of his lungs. Satella, otherwise known as the Witch of Envy. She, or at least her Envy half, destroyed half of the world before she was sealed away with the combined efforts of Volcanica, Reid Astrea, and The Sage Flugel. She is the one who gave Subaru Return by Death, and the one who summoned him to Lugunica. For some reason, she loves him and she is quite obsessive about her love for him. By obsessive, I mean batshit insane. He can't tell anyone about his ability due to her envy. Not to mention, she was devouring the Pleiades Tower due to her envy. She is that one yandere you find in most harem anime. Subaru got no response from her, nothing. But what he sees next shocks him.

A blue flame erupted in the distance in front of him. Subaru stared at the blue flames for a few seconds. The flames started to take shape, into some kind of humanoid form with wings and claws. "What the hell is this?" Subaru asked in worry while looking at it. As he stared at it, he saw something inside. What he saw inside of it was himself looking back, with yellow eyes and a huge manic smile. After he saw that, time for everyone else had resumed. "Was it just me, or is there actually a threat here?" Subaru asked himself, worried that there could be someone here that is a danger to him and everyone else here while deleting the strange app from his phone. He then concluded that it was mostly likely a vision, but of what? What does fate have in store for the man named Natsuki Subaru this time? Meanwhile, there was a creepy, long nosed bald man sitting in a chair, with his two loli attendants, one at his left and one at his right. He stared ahead and said "Heh, so it begins. Let's see how you proceed, Trickster.".

Subaru had to take another train to get to Sojiro's place. "Reminder to self, buy a goddamn bike." Subaru muttered under his breath. It was really starting to piss him off with how many trains he had to take. And if he has to do this all year, it is gonna cost a lot of money. Subaru decided that there is the possibility that he will have to get a job. Tokyo is actually really weird. Big ass crowds, some kind of time stop thing happened at one of the city blocks, and the fact that a lot of people are wearing medical masks. Subaru concluded that the reason for people wearing medical masks is because of that mental shutdown crap that those two girls on the Shibuya train were spewing. "How long has this mental shutdown mumbo jumbo been going on for?" Subaru genuinely asked as he was confused about the whole thing. He hasn't heard of this shit until he got here. Subaru was pondering this until someone answered him, which jolted him back to reality.

"Eh, that crap has been happening for a while now, a couple of months actually." Said this guy who looked like he was the same age as Subaru. He had blonde hair, and wore what looked to be the Shujin Academy school uniform, but the academy outer shirt was unbuttoned, and he wore a yellow shirt that had a dark pink and black star underneath. Subaru guessed that this guy's looks gets him called a delinquent very often, but Subaru would be a hypocrite if he said anything due to his scary eyes.

"Seriously? I never heard of this 'mental shutdown' thing until I came here. Does anyone know what this thing is?" Subaru said. He was worried that this was some kind of new virus or epidemic, which would suck. But, he knew that couldn't be the only things that could be. It could also be some form of magic, because there is magic that can influence the mind, like yin spells. For all he knows, magic could quite possibly exist here as well, but he isn't gonna blurt out any of this crap. People would think he is insane.

"No one knows anything about it. It just showed up a couple of months ago. What happens is like the victim's mind completely shuts down. Let's say, the driver of this train got the mental shutdown crap. He would crash this train into either another train, a person on the track, or run us off of the track, into the streets. Are you new here dude?" The blonde boy said while looking at Subaru.

"Yeah, I'm new here. I had to come here because of some shitty situation ." Subaru answered him. He decided to tell him just that since he didn't know the blonde guy, so he has no way of knowing that he can actually trust him. Also, why the hell would someone just tell some random guy that he has probation?

"Sorry to hear that. Word of advice? There are a lot of assholes here, especially adults who walk all over kids and teenagers. And there are people worse than that. What I am trying to say is be careful." The blonde guy said to Subaru. Even though he didn't know this guy, Subaru did respect him for trying to give him some pretty sound advice.

The train stopped. This was Subaru's stop. Subaru began walking out, but stopped at the door. He turned around to look at the blonde guy and said "Thanks for giving me the advice, even though you don't know me. You take care of yourself." Subaru smiled and nodded to the guy before he turned around to walk off, with the train door closing behind him. That blonde kid looked at the door and smiled as well, still surprised by Subaru's kindness. Normally, someone would have told him to buzz off, go away, move, or cuss at him, but Subaru? That guy was nice to him and thanked him. The blonde guy knows he only talked to Subaru for a short time, but he hopes to meet him again. "Hope I get to meet you again, nasty eyes." The blonde guy said to himself, calling him nasty eyes because he never gave a name. But little did both men know, they would become great friends.

Subaru finally arrived at Yongen-Jaya. Subaru's parents told him that Hanamura said Sojiro lives on the backstreets of Yongen-Jaya. Subaru looked on a sign for directions. He walked down a corridor and had to walk up some stairs. He made it to the backstreets a couple of minutes later. The place looked very dreary and narrow, but it was cloudy. Subaru saw a cop at one of the poles on the street and decided to ask him for directions to Sakura Sojiro's house, and so he walked up to him.

"Yo! Can I get the directions to Sakura Sojiro's home?" Subaru asked the cop. Now that he takes a closer look, the cop looks very exhausted, but also very alert. Cops do have to be on edge because shit could happen unexpectedly at any time.

"Yeah, please. I have been traveling all day to get here." Subaru asked the cop politely. Despite what happened, he still does want to be respectful. The cop looks at Subaru, examining him, trying to see if he was a threat. Subaru still has his whip barely hidden underneath his tracksuit jacket, just in case he needed it. The cop then sighed. "It's in an alley a bit further back. Take a right after that apartment with the stairs."

"Thanks man!" Subaru said to the cop before he took off running, following the directions the cop gave him. He stopped when he found a huge house with a closed off gate. Subaru took a look at the nameplate beside the gate and it said 'Sakura'. "So this is the place. I got to admit, this house is really nice, or at least the outside is. Gotta ring the doorbell and see if this Sojiro guy is home." Subaru said as he rang the doorbell. No one came to the door. And then, Subaru heard someone say "Looks like he isn't home…". Subaru looked beside him to see where the voice came from and it was a delivery guy.

"If I remember correctly, Sakura-san is usually working at his cafe right about now. Leblanc is at the back alley, so I gotta make my other deliveries first." The delivery guy said. (That guy said that Sojiro is working at some cafe called Leblanc, which is in the back alley. Well, I now know where I am headed.) Subaru thought to himself, making his way towards Leblanc.

"So this is Leblanc...looks classy." Subaru said as he stood in front of a cafe. It has plants in front of the cafe. There was a sign beside the door, most likely the menu. And above the door was a red and white cover that had words written in english, saying 'Leblanc Coffee and Curry'. Subaru walked through the door after he stopped admiring the outside appearance of the cafe.

The inside of the cafe looked classy as well. The floors were wood. They had square tables on the left side, with those 2 person seats you see in restaurants. A wooden counter on the right, which contained the cash register, and a bunch of other things that look like coffee beans and curry ingredients. There was an elderly couple sitting at one of the tables, while a middle aged looking man was standing up, reading what looks to be a newspaper. (Damn, this is a pretty nice cafe. It just feels really cozy and relaxing, especially with the smell of curry filling my nose.) Subaru blissfully thought to himself. The TV in the cafe is on, showing what looks to be some kind of news tabloid show.

"A public transit bus was driven down an opposing lane with its customers still in it. The citizens can't live in peace if this keeps up." That news tabloid reporter guy said. Subaru heard this and thought back to his conversation with that blonde guy on the train about these mental shutdowns. (So this is one of those mental shutdowns...hope those people are okay.) Subaru said while worrying about the passengers on the bus and the people who were in that opposing lane.

"Oh, how frightening." The elderly man with slicked back dark grey hair, wearing a brown coat said.

"What could be going on? Didn't something similar happen the other day?" The elderly female wearing a purple shirt said.

The middle aged guy on the right, with slicked back hair, wearing a pink shirt with an apron on top and khaki pants was writing on the newspaper he is holding while talking to himself. (It sounds like he is doing some kind of word puzzle. Okay, I am going to assume that he is the manager and that he is also Sakura Sojiro.) Subaru thought to himself. Sojiro then noticed Subaru, and looked at him while saying "Oh right. They did say that day is today.". Soon after he said that, the elderly couple stood up. "We'll be going now. The money is on the table." the elderly man said.

"Thank you for coming by." Sojiro said to the couple. He looked slightly aggravated, probably due to home having to house a possible threat, or at least that is what he thinks. "Thank god that the cafe is in the back alley. That means I won't have to worry about a car ramming itself into here." the elderly man said.

"A what now?" Sojiro said while having a confused expression on his face. Subaru knew what this was about, those mental shutdowns. That is a valid fear. But there is still the possibility of something like that happening since a car can more than likely fit its way into these narrow alleys.

"You know, those strange rampages that have been happening for a couple of months now. I honestly hope something like that doesn't happen around here." the elderly man said with a fearful expression on his face. "That's none of my concern." Sojiro said while looking at the man. "Heh, I guess we'll be going now. Have a good day, Sakura-san." the elderly man replied as he and his wife exited the cafe.

"They were here four hours for a single cup of coffee." Sojiro said and then sighed. Subaru just assumed that the man was bored out of his mind, something that Subaru could relate to. Back in Lugunica, there was no technology, television, video games, none of that, so when he got done with his patrols since it was his job as a knight, he got bored if he wasn't talking to any of his friends. And it wasn't good for him to be with his thoughts for too long, due to the obvious PTSD and his situation.

"So, you're Natsuki Subaru?" said Sakura Sojiro while looking at him, trying to get a good look at him while having a bored expression on his face. Subaru felt like this guy wasn't gonna like him too much, that he was going to only see him as a nuisance. Subaru couldn't exactly blame the guy for thinking like this.

"Yeah, I'm Natsuki Subaru. I'm guessing you are Sakura Sojiro. Nice to meet you, I guess." Subaru said while extending his hand to shake hands with Sojiro, but Sojiro didn't extend his hand so Subaru retracted his hand back to his side. "Not much of a handshake guy, huh?" Subaru said while putting his hands into his pockets. (Yep, what a great start for the year, just great.) Subaru thought to himself.

"Yes I am, for someone with a criminal record, you have some good manners at least." Sojiro said. Sojiro was actually surprised by Subaru's manners. He had expected him to be some foul mouthed, dangerous looking delinquent. This guy didn't look too dangerous, except for his mean looking eyes, which are now looking at him curiously, trying to figure out what Sojiro's next move will be.

"Heh, thank my parents for that one. We Natsuki's may be very laid back and energetic, but we do have good manners for anyone that isn't a part of the family. If you're a part of the family, you are not safe, in many ridiculous ways." Subaru said while smiling, remembering some fond moments with his family, such as his Dad putting him into one of those submission positions you see in wrestling to wake him up.

"Uh huh. I was actually wondering what kind of unruly kid Daichi would be sending me, and you're the one. I don't know if you know this, but a regular customer of mine and your parents know each other and-ah whatever! The point is, you're gonna be in my custody for a whole year. Follow me, I'm gonna show you to your room." Sojiro said while walking up the steps at the back, with Subaru following behind. When Subaru walked up the steps, what he saw was a messy shit show. It was dusty. There were a bunch of full trash bags lying around, along with gas canisters, a bunch of boxes, and other crap. The tables and shelves were full with books and newspapers. In the middle of the room, lies the stuff Subaru's parents sent ahead of time. His Xbox One, PS4, games, anime, manga and light novels were in a box, with his flatscreen TV lying alongside it. That is when he realised something.

"Sakura-san, why are my things here instead of your house? Please tell me this isn't..." Subaru said with a scared look on his face, scared of the implications. He hoped and prayed to God, Jesus, Buddha, every god he can think of, that this isn't what he thinks it is.

"Because this is your room kid. You're gonna be living here. I would've let you stay at my house, but I didn't have a guest room for you. And since this is your room, you're gonna be in charge of cleaning it. I'm going to at least give you some sheets for your bed. But, I will throw you out if you cause any trouble here, understand?" Sojiro said while looking at Subaru, almost feeling guilty for the kid. The keyword here is almost.

"Yeah, I understand Sakura-san" Subaru said while giving a sigh of defeat. Subaru looked around the room, each second filling his soul with horror. I mean, who wouldn't? The room is completely trashed, and he's the one that has to clean it. (But it is only fair. This is my room after all, so I should be the one to clean up.) Subaru thought to himself, while trying to fill himself with determination to clean all this shit up.

"They told me about your...situation. Some guy was forcing himself unto some random woman. You decided to step in, and he got injured. He then decided to sue your ass for said injury. *Sigh* This crap is what happens when you stick your nose into business between two adults that doesn't concern you. You now have a criminal record and your school expelled you. So now, you have to stay here for a year and still go to school, which, lucky for you, they actually found a school that will take in somebody like you. Your parents approved of your transfer. Basically, everyone got rid of you for being a pain in the ass. Don't talk about anything unnecessary, don't get into trouble, and your probation will be lifted. Cause any problems, and you will be sent straight to juvie. " Sojiro said while looking at Subaru, with his arms crossed and his hand on his chin. Sojiro was right on all accounts. Subaru was pissed about him saying that they got rid of him for being a pain in the ass. That was actually the complete opposite. But still, he did think of himself as a pain in the ass, so he didn't voice his disagreement.

"Ok, no need to tell me this again. The judge, Hanamura-san, and my parents told me everything I needed to know." Subaru said, getting aggravated that everyone was telling him the same thing twice. (Everyone repeats the same damn thing like a broken record.) Subaru thought to himself. He is just tired and wants this shit to be over.

"I will be taking you to Shujin Academy tomorrow. Damn, this is a waste of my sunday." Sojiro said with a sigh as he walked back downstairs. Subaru made sure he was out of hearshot when he muttered to himself "Sorry to be such an inconvenience, asshole." He should appreciate Sojiro letting him stay here, he knows that. But the way he was talking to him pissed him off, saying it's his fault for getting sent here, that he shouldn't have done anything. To Subaru, it sounded like Sojiro was saying that he should have let that happen. That is something that would go against Subaru's morals as a decent human being, or as decent as you can get. But then again, him and Subaru could be great friends. Most of Subaru's friends have hated him before, and some of them have directly or indirectly killed him before, and yet, they still became his friends.

Subaru decided to finally clean the room. The way the room looks was really starting to irritate him. Sure, he hated cleaning, but that didn't mean he likes a messy room. This is room is really fucking filthy. Subaru organized a bunch of things. He got the old newspapers from one of the tables and put it near the ladder and the plant. Subaru asked Sojiro where he should put the trash bags that were up there. Sojiro told Subaru to just put them in the dumpster outside. Subaru dusted the shelves and the bed, he swept and mopped the floor. Subaru finally got the room looking pretty decent, and then he noticed that it was late. "Damn, how long have I been cleaning? It's already dark outside." Subaru said to himself. That is when he heard someone walking up the stairs. He turned around and saw Sojiro standing there, looking around the room with an expression of surprise on his face.

"You were actually cleaning up? I heard a bunch of noise coming from up here, but I honestly didn't think you were cleaning. This room actually looks great, better than it has in years. It is natural for you to want" Sojiro said while looking pretty impressed with how the room looks. He still can't believe that Subaru cleaned it up. Sojiro thought Subaru wouldn't do it. He thought he would just leave it as it is, but he did it. "Of course I did, I have some pride, you know. But damn, was that dusty or what?" Subaru said while rubbing his nose, while also in a triumphant pose. But in all honesty, he was all tired out.

"Why don't you go to bed? If you get sick from staying up all night, then you are on your own. You got to go to bed anyway since you and me are are taking a trip to Shujin Academy tomorrow." Sojiro said. While Subaru just looked at him with an exhausted expression, the expression of someone who is completely drained. (He is right. I have to be up in the morning for that. I hope the teachers are nice at least.) Subaru said, thinking about his new school. Little did Subaru know, he just jinxed himself again. Sojiro said goodnight to Subaru and then left. Immediately after he left, Subaru took off his tracksuit and everything he had on. He only left his black t-shirt on, and hopped into bed, hoping for some sweet dreams. As he was laying down, he took one last look at his phone and he saw that he still had that weird app on his phone that he found earlier, before the time stop event and those blue flames. "What the hell? I was sure that I deleted this app. I swear, if some virus was implanted into my phone, I am going to be pissed. I'm just gonna delete this thing and hope that it doesn't come back" Subaru said as he deleted the app a second time.

Subaru began to think about the things that have happened to him recently. He was brought back home by Od Luguna, got to see and live with his parents again. was able to pass his first year of high school, and then back to that certain event that got him placed on probation in the first place. Subaru still remembers that event as if it was yesterday. Subaru seeing that man assault that woman and trying to drag her into his car, him pushing the guy off of her, him stumbling backwards and injuring himself while proclaiming that he is going to sue Subaru, and the fact that Subaru was arrested while that bastard got away with it. The fact that he is being punished instead of that bald fuck angered him. And then, Subaru started to think of his friends back in Lugunica, wondering how they are doing, how Emilia is doing, questioning if they are really sad that he is gone. (After all, why would anyone miss a piece of shit like me, huh?) Subaru bitterly thought to himself. Subaru's eyelids started to feel heavy, and he fell asleep, without knowing that he is in for one hell of a surprise.

The Velvet Room

Subaru wakes up in a bed that doesn't feel like his. He thought that was weird because of not only that, but the fact that he just went to sleep. Also, it was really dark, really cold, and he heard water dripping on the floor. "That is not right. I remember leaving the lights on, and there isn't a bathroom in the attic!" Subaru said as he jolted up, hearing a strange clanking sound, and he noticed that his hands and left ankle felt weird. He looked at his hands only to find himself handcuffed and then look at his left ankle, only to see it cuffed by one of those metal chain balls. Not only that, but he is wearing one of those striped black and white prison suits that you would see in the 60's. "Okay, what the hell is this? The last time I checked, I wasn't in the 1960's! Or was I sent back in time?" Subaru said as he tried to figure out what was going on, until he heard laughter, the arrogant kind of laughter. He turned around to find the source of the laughter, only to see two twin lolis with blonde hair. One had braids in her hair while the other had twin hair buns, both were wearing blue hats on their heads with some words on them in some language Subaru didn't recognize, and both of them wore blue officer outfits that would be something to see in prison with shorts.

"I know they called me the Lolimancer back in Lugunica, but this is getting ridiculous." Subaru said, thinking about the nickname everyone gave him, The Lolimancer, given to him because of his uncanny ability to get little girls to fall for him. Now that he got a closer look at them, he notices the one on the left has a blank expression on her face, while the one on the right has a small smile on her face. (Twins, but with different personalities. Reminds me of Rem and Ram.) Subaru said, smiling fondly at the memory of the two oni maids he has known, or knew. Subaru walked to the cell bars. As he was walking towards the cell bars, the twin lolis were moving out of the way to reveal a wooden desk, and a bald man with a long nose and eyes that look like they have not rested at all for centuries sitting at it, holding his hands together. Subaru while holding the bars, looked around the room and saw more cells. The Bald, long nosed man looked up and noticed Subaru. He stretched out his hand towards Subaru and said "Trickster...Welcome to my Velvet Room."

Authors Notes

Sorry this took so long to upload. Well, as far as I know and am going, this is gonna be Subaru x Ann. I was thinking about having Futaba to be the love interest, since she is a shut in like he once was and an otaku. But then I decided to go with Ann because she appears early in the game while Futaba appears late. Also, I think Ann's positive personality would help Subaru, especially since he is pretty much traumatized. Also, I think they would work great together. But as of right now, she's the love interest, and I might change my mind later down the line, but that is unlikely. Thanks for reading this and I should have chapter 3 ready by next week. Also, a shout out to the Reactionst and his server for helping me out, giving me ideas, and for reading this before I published it. I have enjoyed being in that server so much, and I definitetly still do. It is filled with great people, really fun to talk to and fuck around with. Also, it is a place with many great inspirations and writers. But I would also love to thank my readers for reading this, and for the favs and follows. I will try to get chapter 3 published by next week, but no promises. I do got a lot of things happening in my life right now.
