Chapter Summary: Proper introductions and explanations

Chapter Six:

"What?!" Six voices blended together in horror as they stared at Sensei Wu.

"Are you coming in or not?" He appeared to be oblivious to their horror.

"I'm starving so long as your feeding us..." Cole shrugged, even as his stomach growled loudly in agreement.

Lloyd shook his head at him, even as Kai leaned forward and quickly hissed to his friend, "Are you insane?! Did no one teach you that you never take food from a stranger!?"

Nya rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she stared at the so called mighty sorcerer. "Actually... we technically know him. He's the janitor that changes schools whenever we change schools."

"That would be due to the fact that I was trying to keep an eye on Lloyd for his father." Sensei Wu explained as he ushered the teens into the large courtyard.

"Wait... you know my father?!" Lloyd stumbled slightly, shock flooding his voice. His father had vanished into thin air shortly after he was born. Not even his mother knew what happened... all they knew was that he was still paying for all of the bills and the house mortgage. As well as any fees that came up at the school for Lloyd. Due to a lack of divorce papers being signed, they presumed that he didn't want to get a divorce just yet.

"Yes... he is my brother." Sensei Wu pulled a chair out at the loaded picnic table that was resting in the middle of the courtyard.

Lloyd blinked slowly, barely catching onto what he just said. "Your brother...but that makes you my uncle! And you said so yourself! Your thousands of years old! How can Dad be your brother!?"

"The fact that he is three years older than me for starters." Sensei Wu plopped down, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Lloyd...your old man is really old." Jay commented as he helped himself to the food, piling it onto a plate.

Zane pulled out the note, handing it over to the sorcerer. "You wouldn't mind explaining what this note means about the weird happenings that have been plaguing us as to do with Dr. Garmadon's disappearance?"

Sensei Wu tenderly took the note, glancing at it briefly, before looking each of them in the eye at the same time. "Ah yes... that. You see... a long time ago when I was in my sixties, my brother and I were placed in charge of guarding an ancient magical artifact that holds a great deal of power. However, an evil sorcerer by the name of Samukai, along with his followers, were after it. To keep it safe, we made plans to place it back where it came from, inside of a temple hidden deep in the woods. However, while I was able to complete our task, Samukai had captured Garmadon, your father Lloyd, and was threatening to kill him if I didn't hand over the Golden Scroll of Destiny to him. Desperate to protect the scroll, I cast a protection spell over the temple it lay within... however this angered Samukai who then cast another spell to save the both of us, though with the unfortunate side effect of essentially freezing us in time. That's why we're still alive."

"What does this have to do with Mom and her crew being missing?" Lloyd questioned as he crossed his arms across his chest, annoyance flaring up inside of him. "Or what's been going on lately."

"Everything. The spell I used would essentially bring the temple back into this realm if the Power of the Dragons leave the Dragon Gems and into a new..."

"New hosts? New conductor? New heroes?! New mmhphmhpm!" Jay started as Cole very calmly slapped a hand over his mouth.

"We get the idea Jay... and heroes? Seriously?" Cole scoffed, Lloyd timidly nodding his head in agreement.

"I was going to say ninjas." Sensei Wu was most definitely exasperated at the talkative teen.

"Sorry..." "Why ninjas, don't they just run across rooftops and do fancy flips and martial arts?"

Sensei Wu pinched the bridge of his nose as he wondered why it was that the Dragon Gems chose these six. "Well... yes. However a real ninja also has magical powers. Ninjas had, along with the magical powers that they were born with, had the powers of one of the many species of Dragons. During your field trip to the museum the other day, the Dragon Gems were activated, meaning that there were six people with magic in that room."

"So... you need us to find these Ninjas?" Lloyd latched onto that idea, relief flashing through him.

"No... you are the Ninjas." Sensei Wu lifted his staff up, gently and roughly tapping Cole on the shoulder. "The ability to use magic was always yours... and if you ever bothered to look closely you would have seen it. Like the time you scraped your knee and it healed up within a few minutes, as if it never happened." Flicking his wrist, he tapped Nya. "When the prototype for your invention worked perfectly when it wasn't supposed to do that..." Turning, he tapped Kai. "Touched fire and yet, didn't burn yourself." Turning to Zane he tapped him casually. "Mediated under water without having to come up for air." Turning to Jay, he poked him in the shoulder. "Leaped far higher than what was physically possible for someone your size, and yet since your classmates were jumping that high so no one thought anything of it." He sat back down, clearly done with explaining what they each did to prove that they already had magic.

Lloyd frowned, realizing something missing from his explanation. Something that apparently Nya noticed as well. "What about Lloyd? What did he do to prove that he had magic?"

Sensei Wu paused, surprise flashing in his eyes, before he quickly narrowed his eyes at his young nephew. "Honestly... I just presumed that with how strong magic runs in our veins that he could do it as well. He never showed any sign of magical prowess until after one of the Dragon Gems claimed him."

"But... how? Why?" Lloyd drew his eyebrows together, confusion crashing down on him.

"I don't know. However the power you have, accidently of course, has shown the abilities of the Energy Dragon... thus making you a ninja." Sensei Wu explained as he started to clean up the picnic dinner. "It is getting late. I recommend that you all get some rest. I have several empty rooms that you may use with spare night clothes in them." Turning his back to them, he added almost casually, "Training starts first thing in the morning. You're gonna need it to save Misako and her crew."

A/N: Done... okay I got it long enough without going into the start of their training. Sweet! Getting late and I still have a list of things that I'm supposed to be doing instead of this...

Reviews:

HeyVen: I believe they're ninjas... haven't decided yet... well I guess Sensei basically told Lloyd. But at the same time he didn't tell him. Why thank you. I liked the idea of the Dragon Gems too.
