Hi guys, I've been working on this story for some time now, and have decided to release a chapter. After much deliberation, I've decided to not turn it into a cross over, even though it will sometimes be obvious where the inspiration for Bella's powers partially came from. While editing today I contemplated changing the name and appearance of one character that appears in this chapter only but ultimately decided not to. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. And for the fans of my other stories, new chapters soon.
Chapter 1
Nervously Bella got into her truck and started driving towards the Cullen mansion. She hoped Alice would see the conversations she was planning to have with Edward in a vision so that nothing bad would happen. Along the way she thought of all that had happened and the realizations she had come to. Alice was her best friend, she hoped the friendship would survive breaking up with Edward. Things had been rough lately, well not exactly, things had been rough for much longer. She had never been able to forgive Edward for the things he had done, the dangers he had put her in, the pain he had caused her. Sure they got back together after Bella had gone with Alice to Italy so save Edward. But Bella had realized she didn't do it for Edward, she did it for Alice, she did it so she could spend a little more time with her best friend. When Edward had left after the incident on her most recent birthday, he had taken his entire family with him through his manipulation.
Everybody, Bella included thought for a long time she had been so heartbroken over the breakup, but by now Bella knew better. Edward had been her first love, more of a puppy love really. Breakups rarely are easy but you get over them and she did. It was the love of the family that had truly devastated her, Alice was like a sister to her, even Rosalie who back then still had a standoffish attitude towards Bella was like a sister. Emmett was her big brother and walking gigantic teddy bear, Jasper while always careful around her had been there to protect her when needed. Then there was Esme, the mother Bella had always wanted, back then she hadn't called her mom yet, but she often wanted to. Esme took care of Bella, it was the first time in Bella's life that she had had a parental figure taking care of her instead of the other way around. And Carlisle had become a surrogate father, always ready with good advice. She had saved Edward for them, despite them having left and having hurt her.
After they had made it out of Italy Bella and Edward had gotten back together, Bella was still under the impression that their relationship could be rekindled, then it became a matter of fixing the relationship, by now Bella knew better. Since Victoria and her newborn army had been defeated, things had gone downhill even further, mainly due to Bella changing, Rosalie had opened up a lot more and Bella had gotten close to her, she had started becoming aware of how manipulative and overbearing Edward could be, it was a miracle she was still allowed to drive herself anywhere, let alone go see Jacob, well see Jacob before he had ran away. Jacob had been her sun when the Cullens had left, and after the newborn fight Bella had seriously hurt him when he found out the news.
Edward in his manipulative ways had tricked Bella into accepting his marriage proposal, he had preyed on the mistaken belief she held before the battle that sex was going to be the thing that would save their relationship, so she had accepted his proposal because due to his old fashioned beliefs he didn't want to have sex before the marriage. She had realized all the mistakes she had made, this was in no way going to be easy. There was a good chance she was going to lose her family all over again, she took some comfort out of the fact that at least it would be on her terms this time and that no matter what she'd get to say goodbye this time. She had carefully picked the time to break up with Edward so that everybody would be home. Hopefully Alice would be helping together with Jasper using his gift, Edward was dangerous, all the Cullens were really due to their nature, but Edward was dangerous in different ways, it wouldn't be surprising if he'd try to force Bella to stay with him. But she would resist with everything she had in her.
She started giving herself a pep talk as she made her way on the long windy driveway to the Cullens house. She parked in her usual spot, giving herself a last pep talk before getting out and heading inside. She was quickly greeted by Esme, not entirely surprising Alice was waiting for her by the stairs with a worried look on her face. But when Bella passed her, Alice did lay a hand on her shoulder and gave her a supportive smile, as to say that she'd support Bella. Jasper, the Cullens most experienced fighter and Alice's mate was nearby, he had proven his worth and absolute lethality against the newborn army, he had singlehandedly killed the most newborns. Even the wolves had been impressed and held Jasper in high esteem since the battle. Edward flew out his door down the stairs stopping in front of Bella.
"What are you doing here? You were supposed to be home right now." Edward said.
"Edward, we need to talk." Bella said as she stepped away from the stairs.
"What's the matter my love?" Edward said more kindly as he approached Bella.
"Edward we need to talk about us, I can't do this anymore." Bella said with difficulty.
"What?! Why not?!" Edward hissed drawing the attention of the remaining family members who quickly joined them in the living room.
"Edward, we haven't been whole since you left me, I'm tired of trying to salvage our relationship. I've spent a long time thinking about us. You told me long ago that I was your mate and you could never hurt me, but hurting me is all you seem to do. You just want me close to you, control me and I can't take it anymore. What we had was a fling Edward, the typical high schoolers puppy love. I'm breaking up with you and will go out into the world." Bella said calmly as she had rehearsed.
"Bella you belong to me. You're my mate. It's not safe for you out there." Edward snarled.
"No Edward, you don't own me. It's safer for me out there than in here with you." Bella said to Edward before turning to the family seeing the concerned but also supportive looks on their faces.
"Bella you're making such a mistake, remember how much pain you were in last time you weren't with me." Edward hissed, causing him to soon be flanked by Jasper and Emmett.
"No Edward, the mistake I made was getting back together with you. And you know what really caused the pain I was in? You taking your family with you when you left, I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to them, you took away my best friend, and my second parents. That's what truly hurt me." Bella said before turning to the rest of the Cullen family. "I know you guys can't stick around forever, but you'll always be welcome for a visit no matter where I live. If he makes you all leave again then I'd like to say goodbye this time. I love you all, please don't let yourselves be controlled by Edward anymore like he has been controlling you and me." Bella said to the remaining Cullens.
"It's that filthy dog isn't it? I'm gonna kill him before he defiles you. You're not going to shack up with him." Edward hissed.
"No Edward, Jake has nothing to do with this and the idea of being together with him is as repulsive as the idea of being together with you. We're not mates, get that through that thick skull of yours. I'd much rather share the bed with Rose. It's another thing I realized about myself. It's over Edward!" Bella said firmly, Causing the usually hostile Rose to look at Bella lovingly briefly before glaring again, which only further confused Bella.
"You're just hellbent on condemning your soul as quickly as you possibly can aren't you?! I'm not going to let you Bella. And you stay away from her you whore!" Edward snarled followed by Rosalie growling at him and Esme chiding him for what he called Rose.
"It's over Edward, try to move on, go to vampire detox or something, you love my blood, not me." Bella said
Edward was increasingly hostile, it got so bad that Emmett and Jasper had to drag him out of the house. Carlisle nodded supportively before heading outside following his 3 sons while Esme came over to hug Bella.
"We'll get him to calm down, but perhaps it would be better if you left sweetheart. Don't worry, we're not going anywhere, anytime soon and when we do have to leave a year or two from now we'll let you know exactly where we'll go and arrange whatever you need to visit us and we'll visit you too. We've all grown very attached to you and when we left the way we did it nearly destroyed the family, you're like a daughter to me and Carlisle we won't leave you like that again, we'll be a part of your life for however long you want us to be. I'm sure Carlisle will let go of his morals for once when it comes to changing someone for you if you want it somewhere down the line."
After enjoying the long motherly hug Bella let go of Esme while thanking her. Reaching into her backpack she pulled out some of the things Edward had given her, such as her engagement ring and gave it all to Esme.
"Could you please give it back to him when the time is right?" Bella asked.
Esme assured her she'd see to it that Edward would get everything back at an appropriate time, knowing that Bella wasn't one to love gifts to begin with and wouldn't want to keep things she no longer believed to belong to her. As soon as she was free to leave Alice asked if she could accompany her home. Bella quickly agreed, as often she feared the worst and despite Esme's words she was eager to have a last moment with her best friend in the worst case. She strangely saw Rose smiling at her again as they left in Bella's old Chevy. Once far enough from the Cullen's house Alice started talking.
"I'm glad you finally broke up with him. And I'll never be out of touch again, I promise. If you want to come with us I'll make sure it happens. Whenever you want to talk I'll be available no matter what. You're not just my best friend Bella, you're my sister." Alice said.
"Thanks Alice, you're my sister too. Did you know him and me weren't meant to be?" Bella asked curiously.
"I… Yes, I saw you with the person you're supposed to be with, I kept it secret all this time, trying to steer you away from Edward without provoking his wrath. I'm sorry I didn't do a better job."
"Who am I supposed to be with and why didn't you say anything earlier? Why didn't you stay?" Bella demanded.
"Bella you know why, nobody likes it when I meddle in their personal business like that using my visions. Besides, before I would have gotten the chance Edward had already announced to everyone you were his mate, his claim created a lot of complications. I'm sorry I didn't stay and even more that I didn't come back sooner, it's just that Jasper felt so horrible about himself. He loves you, you know. It's just that his gift makes it hard for him sometimes. He was doing well until Edward shoved you back injuring you even further. That's the real reason I left, I couldn't let jasper go down a pit of self loathing for too long, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." Alice said.
"Alice who am I supposed to be with? At least tell me it's not a guy, I'm sick and tired of guys Alice."
"It's not a guy. You really were dazzled by Edward because of what we are, weren't you?" Alice asked
"I did love him, but I meant it when I said it was puppy love. It became clear that's what it was when you guys left, I missed you guys so much that it tore me apart from the inside, Charlie told you how bad it was, today's the first time I admitted to anyone the real reason why I was hurting so much. I had to be the adult around my mother, was a lone child, between Renee's craziness and having to make sure the bills got paid and all that I never got to be just a kid, nor did I have much free time. I never realized how lonely I was in Phoenix until I moved here and made some friends at school and got to know you guys. Charlie largely takes care of himself, but he never made me feel like Esme and Carlisle make me feel. I can be just a kid with them, they take care of me and on top of that I have a bunch of brothers and sisters." Bella admitted.
"Bella do you still want to be like us?" Alice inquired.
"I don't know, maybe, I just don't want to be with Edward."
"Just think about it, you know the upsides and downsides by now. Since you graduated Charlie is expecting you to move on anyway, so it can be natural." Alice said.
"Your visions, do you still see me as one of you?" Bella asked as she parked her truck in the driveway.
"Yes I do. Do you want me to stay tonight?" Alice asked.
"Naah, I'm good. Just don't go disappearing on me, I'd like to see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight Bella, text me when you get up." Alice said when she gave Bella a hug before she got out and took off into the woods.
Bella walked inside, Charlie watching a game on the TV as he often did. She walked into the living room wanting to tell Charlie before she started on dinner. Having broken up with Edward made her feel relieved, as if a large weight was off her shoulders.
"Dad. Dad!" Bella said to get his attention.
"Huh, what? Something the matter?" Charlie asked
"Dad I wanted you to find out from me first, I broke up with Edward." Bella said somewhat coldly, not wanting Charlie to start celebrating.
"Oh, are you ok? Bells he didn't do anything to you did he?" Charlie asked gently as he got out of his recliner, no doubt remembering what a mess Bella had been when Edward had broken up with her.
"I'm fine dad, I broke up with him not the other way around. I've been meaning to do it for some time now, just couldn't work up to it or figure out how to do it. Edward didn't do anything to me. I'm gonna get dinner started." Bella said reassuringly.
Charlie was walking on pins the rest of the evening, suspecting Bella would break down any minute now. He was already surprised that she made it through dinner, he was hesitant when she went upstairs after watching some tv with him. Well he watched tv, a show neither one of them liked and Bella was really reading a book. He feared the worst when she went upstairs.
Having had enough of Charlie's careful behavior since she had told him about the break up Bella went upstairs, she took a nice long hot shower that enabled her to relax again. Once out she went into her room, hoping Charlie wouldn't come up to investigate and that he'd get over it soon. As she got under the sheets, she went back to reading the color purple, before eventually falling asleep.
In the middle of the night Bella was awoken abruptly, carried into the woods at a supernatural speed that could only mean one thing, she was being kidnapped by a vampire. It quickly caused her to be fully awake pretty quickly, she realized it was Edward carrying her. Suddenly he stopped and set her down.
"I wont let you condemn your soul Bella, you belong with me."
"Edward for gods sake stop it. We're finished." Bella said as she walked away.
With a loud crunch Edward broke her left leg causing Bella to scream out in pain.
"You're not going anywhere. You're mine, you really think you can just walk away from me?" Edward snarled to Bella.
"Go fuck yourself Fuckward. I'll never belong with you, I'll never be with you again. Alice has seen long ago the person I'm supposed to be with." Bella said back while biting away the pain.
The insult earned her a punch to the ribs from Edward breaking most of them on her right side, shattered parts entering her right lung causing it to collapse.
"Oh I know, I read it in her mind when she had the first vision of the person you're supposed to be with. I'm not gonna let you condemn yourself, you ungrateful bitch." Edward snarled to Bella as she struggled to breathe.
"I'd rather - die than be - with you - Fuckward. Go suck – a dick, Dickward." Bella got out in between breaths.
In many ways it was unwise to continue provoking Edward, but Bella was beyond caring for the consequences. Edward in his rage threw her further into the woods, further mangling her already mangled body when she smacked against a tree hard. By now most of the bones in her body were broken, but she could no longer feel it, or move due to he shattered spine having paralyzed her from the neck down. As soon as her body hit the forest floor Edward was already standing above her. Her trip through the forest had also caused several cuts causing her to bleed. That's when Edward fully lost it. Unable to resist her blood, which was like a rare wine to him that was already nearly irresistible when It wasn't exposed, he started sucking on the cut on her arm. Since Bella was unable to resist, the cut was deep enough to make her bleed profoundly from the torn jugular, Edward didn't bother to bite her.
"I'm not gonna put my venom in you, you won't become on of us. If you won't take your place beside me so that I can protect your virtue and soul until you die a natural death, then I'll gladly speed up the process." Edward said in between sucking the blood from her wound.
Bella was losing consciousness, Edward had drank so much of her blood. Suddenly Edward was thrown off of her mangled body, a body that was barely recognizable anymore. The sound it produced was like two boulders smacking together. While a nasty loud fight was going on a beautiful blonde angel appeared over Bella's body.
"Oh Bella I'm so sorry we were unable to stop him. I'm sorry we're going to change you into one of us. I'm sorry I haven't been honest with you. I just didn't want this life for you, no matter how much pain it caused me. I hope you can forgive me and will give me a chance. I'm sorry I haven't been honest with you. I love you Bella." The blonde said as she scooped Bella into her arms and everything became a blur.
She came to in a place that felt familiar when the blonde put her down on a raised surface of some kind, her heart barely beating anymore.
"I'm not sure it will work Rosalie, she's nearly dead."
"We have to try Carlisle, we have to." The blonde said who Bella now realized was Rosalie.
She didn't feel it as she got bit over and over, she didn't feel it when a syringe of venom was injected straight into her heart. Time lost it's meaning.
In the hours following Rosalie having bit Bella over and over, and having injected a vial of her venom straight into her mates barely beating heart while Carlisle forced several iv bags of blood into her mates broken body, the rest of the family arrived back at the house. Edward, the ever possessive, brooding, zealot had been reduced to a pile of ash. Rose was dry sobbing the entire time, Esme her mother for all intents and purposes desperately trying to comfort her. But none could deny the obvious truth, Bella's body was failing, the venom injected into her heart should have made it beat stronger until the end of the transformation, the places where she had bit Bella to get as much venom in her as possible should have been sealed up already.
"Carlisle, is she going to make it?" Esme asked her husband privately outside the home.
"She's in worse shape than you were dear, but what really worries me is that it seems the venom isn't doing anything, it's like her body rejects it, I'll inject my own venom in her heart, maybe there's something wrong with Rose's venom, she never tried to turn a human before, let alone did she bite one before." He replied to his wife while embracing her.
"I just don't understand how Edward could-" Esme started.
"He was obsessed with her, we should've known better and have guarded her." Carlisle finished while rubbing circles on Esme's back.
Carlisle didn't have too much time to comfort his wife, he went back inside to fill a vial with his venom once full he filled a syringe with it and went back into his office and injected it straight into Bella's heart. Not wanting his daughter to feel any worse, he comforted her by saying Bella probably needed a boost. By morning Bella had gotten weaker and weaker, she was on the verge of death. For some strange reason Bella's body flat out rejected the venom, it didn't allow it to change her. No matter how severe somebodies injuries were, he had never heard or read of such a thing happening, even on other supernatural creatures the venom still had a effect.
Bella never regained consciousness, she knew she was dead when she left her body and could see it lying lifeless on a desk, Rosalie dry sobbing over her lifeless corps. Had Rosalie really loved her all this time? Admittingly the blonde was the most beautiful woman Bella had ever seen, she turned Bella on. Her often harsh stand off ish character was a carefully constructed facade to protect herself, Bella had figured that out long ago. "The Rosalie Hale loves me? The Rosalie Hale is crying over my dead body?" Bella wondered out loud, not that they could hear her of course. She had seen enough movies and read enough books to know she was dead and in spirit form now. Suddenly a figure appeared next to her, it was a tall, bald black man dressed in strange clothes that looked like they belonged in a prehistoric fashion show of sorts.
"I'm Amenadiel, it's time for us to go, do you understand what happened to you?" He asked gently.
"Yes, I'm dead and screwed everything up. So it'll be a downstairs trip for me wont it?" she replied.
"No, I'm taking you straight to the Silver City itself." Amenadiel said as he scooped Bella into his arms bridal style and started flying off with her using wings that suddenly appeared on his back.
"What's the silver city?" Bella asked as they ascended towards the clouds.
"Ah yes I forgot you don't have your memories back yet, they'll come back to you any minute now. The silver city is the seat of our Father himself in heaven, your home." He answered.
"My new home you mean?" Bella asked.
"No, Rachel, it's your old home, you've been gone a long time. Has this human life been what you wanted it to be?"
"I don't know, what are you even talking about? Why are you calling me Rachel? My name is Bella." Bella said anxiously
"It will all become clear as our Father speaks to you dear sister." Amenadiel said.
Soon Bella saw a gate, where a line of people were waiting to get through, they moved along at a good pace, there was a guy holding a speech just beyond the gate that Amenadiel called Uriel. Bella wondered why she didn't have to wait, Amenadiel deflected the question. Soon they came across immense sky scrapers, houses, farmland, it looked big enough that every person on earth times who knows how high a number could live there and then some. It went on forever and ever.
"What is this place?" Bella wondered.
"It's heaven, the realm eternal, Elysium." Amenadiel answered.
"How big is it?" Bella wondered.
"It's hard to say. It gets larger as needed, mostly vertical."
Soon they approached a shining silver city on a hill, it was easily one of the most beautiful places Bella had ever seen and felt strangely familiar. Amenadiel took them down to the entrance of the central building putting her back on her feet and walking inside. After walking through the large central room they came to a large door where Amenadiel knocked and a voice called them in. A man was standing in a large office, they walked up to him.
"My beloved daughter, it's good to see you again after all this time. Ah yes of course, you don't remember me." The man said followed by making a hand movement towards Bella.
Bella's head began to rapidly fill with memory, she could now remember her life before her life as Bella Swan, remember that the man standing next to her was her brother and the man in front of her was her true Father. But most importantly she remembered what this place was and why she had left it all behind her. She instantly felt different, stronger.
"Why did you bring me here?" she hissed to Amenadiel.
"Fathers instructions, he wanted to talk to you Rachel." Amenadiel said causing Bella to focus back on the man in front of her.
"Say what you want to say so I can get out of here." She said to her Father.
"I have done a lot wrong my child, I wronged all my children, something you helped me realize. I asked your brother to bring you here when you died as a human so I could talk to you and offer you a gift. It surprised me when after all that time you wandered around the universe, you chose to have a human life. Why?" He asked.
"Well dear old Dad, I wanted to find out what it was like to be human, guess your little science experiment got out of hand a little, not all of them are like you originally made them anymore are they? And there's nothing I want from you." Rachel hissed to God
"Yes a unintended side effect of some of the things that happened here over the ages. You haven't even heard what gift I have to offer."
"Fine what is it? Just tell me so that we can be done here and I can leave." Rachel mumbled.
"I already gave you a gift, you just couldn't see it, now I'm offering you a second chance down there."
"Rosalie?"
"Yes, I have given gifts to all my children since we last saw each other, I'm a father trying to make amends. Now I'm offering you a do over, I can send you back to the moment your human body was born, give you the chance to make different choices, a second lease at life if you will. Alternatively you can leave the Silver City, leave Heaven even and go wander the universe again, but you'll never feel whole. If you choose the first option you have to make it count, I can't keep doing it for all eternity, eventually it would unbalance the universe I created."
"What do you mean you can't keep doing it?"
"This isn't the first time we've had this conversation. Do you want to have some time to decide? Talk to your siblings first perhaps?"
"Why are you doing this?" Rachel asked.
"I'm trying to make amends for the mistakes I made, I've neglected all of my children, you all deserve a chance at happiness." Her Father said.
"Fine send me back, just get it over with, I want to get out of here." Rachel hissed.
"Very well, I have to warn you, things will be a little different this time, to make it easier for you to make your own choices." He said.
With a snap of his finger Bella was pulled into a beam of light.
"What will be different this time Father? This is approaching the human definition of insanity, she always ends up with that Edward and always ends up dead." Amenadiel said
"She wont be human this time, she'll grow into her powers and will have financial wealth coming her way at the right age. I know I'm not supposed to but it's for the best."
"Why can't we interfere directly? It would make things so much easier."
"It wouldn't work with her, you know how stubborn she is. This way she too can have her happiness. Well let's get out of here ourselves, I know you're anxious to return to earth yourself."
Soon she was back in 2002 the year she was born, starting fresh with a clean slate. She had lost most of her memories, her childhood repeating the way it had previously, she was born to Charlie and Renee. Her mother left Charlie several months after her birth, taking Bella with her, for years she grew up with her grandmother in California while Renee got her kindergarten teacher degree, her grandmother had come from significant wealth but for some inexplainable reason had been unable to inherit the money, same with Renee. It had been a mystery to her as to why they didn't have the money, but her grandmother had made the best out of her life. She spent 1 month every summer with Charlie. After years of wandering from place to place Renee took Bella to Phoenix, Arizona. Renee had gotten a job there as a teacher, Bella's childhood was far from ideal, she had to take care of Renee, be the adult her mother was incapable of being and had been a quirky child, something that resulted in being committed to a facility thoughout her childhood years when it had been too much for Renee. Once every year when she visited Charlie she was a little more able of being a child, though imperfect due to his own issues, Charlie always did his best to take care of her. As she reached her teenage years Bella noticed rapid changes in her body she rapidly grew up, in a matter off months she had reached physical adulthood.
She knew of course that changes in teenagers bodies were normal, but she wasn't having just the normal changes, she had tremendous strength when she wanted to, was lightning fast, didn't get hurt, didn't get sick, didn't need to eat, didn't get thirsty, didn't get tired. Most bizarrely, when she wanted to wings appeared on her back, as if they folded out of her and back in. The wings allowed her to fly, which was a nighttime activity she often loved. Still she was careful about it all, whatever she was, it wasn't normal, she knew that much from the bizarre dreams she sometimes had, dreams as if she had a previous life, a non human life, she started to believe she was an angel eventually as more dreams created more clarity. Well some were downright nightmares. Regardless she was determined to lead a normal human life, so she never let anyone see her powers, didn't interfere and didn't use her other gifts, not even when it would have been advantageous. Her mothers craziness made it harder to visit Charlie during summers, they had eventually settled for 2 weeks in California during the summer and eventually Charlie just visited Phoenix for a week. By the time her 16th birthday had come along, Renee had met a new man, his name was Phil.
Phil was perhaps a little too young for his mother but he kept a lid on some of her craziness and relieved part of Bella's burden when he was there. His career as a minor league baseball player often kept him away from home. It was difficult on Renee, by the end of the schoolyear they had gotten married. Bella had started considering moving in with Charlie to for her junior and senior high school years. The life she had lead so far had resulted in her not having any friends in Phoenix anyway due to not being one of the popular kids in the schools she had gone to which were predominantly attended by kids from very wealthy families and spending nearly all her free time taking care of Renee and the finances. So it made it far easier for her to move away. By early august the doorbell rang when she was home alone.
Bella opened the door revealing a man in business attire with a briefcase.
"Can I help you?" she asked the man.
"Doug Smith, estate attorney. Are you Isabella Marie Swan?" He asked with a friendly smile on his face.
"Yes, but I prefer Bella. What is this about?"
"Well it's a little complicated, I manage the estate of your great grandmother, as my father did before me and a couple non related estate attorneys did before him. I'm reaching out to you because we can finally release the estate. You're the sole beneficiary per your great grandmothers will. Here's my card, you can reach me anytime, I'll gladly make time free during or after office hours so we can handle all the paperwork and explain everything to you." He said as he handed her his business card.
"Er thanks, how much is it?" Bella asked confused about what he just told her.
"I'm sorry, by law I cannot reveal that until you signed the paperwork, please let me know whenever is convenient for you. Enjoy the rest of your day." He said as he walked away towards a very expensive looking Audi.
As Bella closed the door she was still confused, but didn't get her hopes up. How much could it be really? At best it might pay for a year of college probably. In the evening when her mom came home from her trip with Phil, Bella told her about the visit. It changed Renee and not for the better.
"You're the sole beneficiary?! That money should be mine!" Renee shouted.
"Mom calm down, how much can it be? It's probably not that much, maybe it will pay for a year of college." Bella said hesitantly.
"A year of college? My grandmother was very rich, she left my mother with nothing, I got nothing, it belongs with us not you, you crazy brat." Renee hissed.
"Mom what's the matter with you?" Bella asked, scared of how her mother was behaving.
"You will give all that money to me and will be happy with what table scraps I'll give you, you ungrateful little bitch! I can't even believe how you would be the beneficiary!" Renee screamed.
"Mom stop this, what's wrong with you?"
As Renee moved to strike Bella, Bella slowed down time, basically freezing Renee and the confused, scared looking Phil in place. She got out of the way and went to her room to pack a bag with the essentials, grabbing her sock full of money and left the house. She realized she had overdone it a little as there were people and cars not moving in the street. She let time resume and used her speed to quickly disappear.
