This one is rather short for a main chapter but oh well.
Also I apologise for 2 weeks of delay but unfortunately some issues with the writing came up and I wanted to redo the rest of the chapters so it makes more sense plotwise! I hope thats not too bothersome...

Silence had fallen all across the village as families started settling down in their homes for the coming night. That was until the alarm calls of Ombric's owls screeched through the quiet of the night.

Then the village leapt into panic. For only Ombric could have alerted his owls to start screaming their loud alarm. When Katherine came running out of Big Root yelling about Ombric and North being in danger, the adults all gathered about preparing for a journey to find them.

Katherine was nervously pacing about, chewing on her thumbnail as the adults all continued to prepare. Her heart was hammering in her ears as fear and worry took hold of her. Were they alright? Are they hurt? What if she was too late?

Her pacing did not stop for a moment. Not a second. At least until a certain astral child came running from the forest, his spear held ready as if charging to battle. He ran through the village, catching everyone's attention as he leapt into the sleigh they had been preparing to use, stopping everyone from their jobs as they all stared at him.

Without a word, he started to rummage through the items they had placed in bags and sacks, pulling out a couple of scarves and a thick coat and overall just leaving the sleigh in a complete mess.

"What are you doing?!" One adult yelled.

"Put those back!" Said another. There were many similar exclamations and protests from both adults and teens alike who were now trying to catch the astral boy, yet unable to for he was too fast.

Managing to perch on Big Root's branches he turned to glare at everyone around him all gathered to yell and chase after him. He saw Katherine and some of the kids who looked at him with scared and disbelieving faces and it hurt his heart so.

Shaking his head from the thoughts of their disappointed faces. FrostLight took a deep breath. "STOP!" He commanded, his voice so loud it could have shaken the tree he sat on. "Would you all stop bickering and calm down to think?!"

Katherine was taken back by the sudden outburst of her quiet and shy friend, his tone of voice a mix of annoyance and urgency and yet held the commanding tone of authority one would expect from a general of an army.

"I know you're all scared and worried," He started, his voice still loud but much calmer now, flowing in the wind like mist. "I know you all want to go look for Ombric and North. But right now your worrying isn't going to get you anywhere. You don't have a way to locate them and certainly not a fast enough method of travel. But I know how to get there. But you all must believe."

At his words, everyone in the village took a moment before nodding a silent agreement. A smile crept up the astral boy's face then he turned to Katherine and threw her the items he had gathered up. "Put these on and follow me!" Wasting not a second, FrostLight jumped off the tree and ran towards the forest with Katherine running behind him, putting on the thick coat and scarves.

Not a minute later, the reindeers were in the sky, flying so fast they barely registered the astral boy that led them or the little girl that clung tightly onto the lead reindeer. It didn't matter as they all started to pray for their safety and believe that they made it in time.

FrostLight flew quickly, spreading his light to form a road for the reindeers to run on. And how fast they were! The air around them was cold, very cold as it rushed past them. Katherine did her best to not shiver, thankful for the extra coat she was given.

"South-East!" she cried over the sound of the rushing wind.
