Chapter 15: Showdown! Sueong vs Natsu!
As the clouds get dark overcast, The amped slayers stare down intensely with their element temperatures rising and only their remained scarfs blowing in the wind.
With the heat vibrating off Natsu, he sneers out darkly, with his shadowed eyes, "Every single thing... will burn till they all turn to ash..."
"?" Sueong doesn't get what he means, knowing he's not in-character and is different than usual.
Having his sight set to burn, Natsu jumps at sueong and attacks with his fist enflamed, "RAH!"
"!" Sueong gasps a little before moving fast to blow his fire fist with his ice hand, in which, steam starts spreading from their clash, "Strange..."
"What the?!" Tyrone exclaims as everyone sees natsu suddenly turning to attack sueong.
"He's suddenly setting his sights on sueong now?!" Hiouis exclaims.
"Natsu! Stop it!" Gray exclaims, with a hand out.
"What happened! Natsu?!" Happy exclaims, and tears forming in seeing his partner suddenly go out of control.
"Tch!" Sueong breaks the fist lock and pushes him back, causing natsu to land off, "So this is how it's gonna be, huh, natsu?"
"Grrr..!" Natsu sneers darkly, dark fire around his arms.
"No recognition of me... fine." With his dark white ice now dark blue, fists as well, "I'm not responsible for what happens next!" Sueong jumps off the defeated mercuphobia and straight down at natsu.
Natsu blocks an incoming punch from Sueong, who flips and lands back before they engage in hand-to-hand combat, dark fire and dark ice fists colliding with the other. After dodging a face strike, Sueong grabs natsu's left fist and turns to slam him to the ground, which natsu quickly gets up and shoots a fire ball from his mouth, and Sueong freezes the fire out before firing an Ice lance in retailation, which natsu burns away with a wave of his left hand before using his right hand to fire blast. Sueong brings up an ice wall to counter the blast, which works, causing iced fog to form, but natsu wasted no time bursting through the smoke, "RAH!" and lands a direct punch to sueong face, "GOH!" sending him flying back, which he back-flips to recover and resumes his position. By the time he looks straight, a fire ball is headed his way, which he barely forms an ice arm shield in time, casing him to slide back out of the smoke form the impact. Natsu dashes right out the smoke without letting up and proceeds to do another attack. Sueong knew ahead of time and ducks underneath before forming ice-arm blade and upper-strikes natsu across the left shoulder, making him burst some blood before getting kicked back.
"Take this!" Sueong swings his right arm and a full on ice wave rapids quickly at natsu, catching and trapping him. Sueong breathes of fogged smoke from his mouth, glaring at the wave.
"What an exchange...!" Jetoal widens his eyes in disbelieve and is amazed too.
"Natsu lost?!" Lucy doesn't to believe.
"No way..." Wendy trails worriedly.
Hearing what sounds to be stomping, "Hold on..." Erza hears something.
"What's that sound?" Tyrone looks on.
"That must be that fire dragon slayers doing." Kanata figures out.
Natsu bursts out of the ice wave, shards flying everywhere upon getting out as his dark flames keep burning, "Grrr..."
"Hm." Sueong remains unsurprised, knowing that wasn't going to put natsu down.
At a standstill, "You really let the flames of a dragon god cloud your mind and take you over? Pitiful." Sueong states, forming an Ice-arm blade, "You can clearly see I'm not under the same affects as you. Proving my will is stronger."
Natsu only glares sinisterly dark, only thing in his mind is burning everything till there is nothing left, "Burn to ashes... till there's nothing left of you..."
"You'll shatter first before that happens." Sueong points his ice-arm blade at the out-of-control natsu before they charge at each other.
Sueong proceeds to swing and slash multiple times which Natsu dodges left, right, and under before doing a fire blast with his extended left hand. Sueong tilts his head to the side and freezes that part of the ice before Natsu uses his right hand to fire another one-point blank, however, sueong also freezes that part and pushes through to deliver a punch his face which only makes Natsu budge back a little before also giving sueong a punch to the face in the same manner, making him slide back in surprise. After a few seconds, Natsu jump dashes a fire punch, which sueong jumps above/dodges before going to slash down at natsu. The latter side dodges in timing, with sueong missing. Natsu uses this chance to kick sueong back by the side of the waist, flying him back a little, which he recovers by stabbing his sword into the ground to stop his sliding. Natsu jumps in the air, forming fire in his hands and launches two fire balls, and sueong flips dodges each one before breaking apart his ice blade and throws it at natsu, who is force to block it as he can't dodge in mid-air, taking it to his arm, but burns it away before it could dive into his skin. Natsu lands on all hands/feet and sueong uses this changes to skid towards him. By the time he gets close, Natsu tries a full blank fireball, but sueong manages to jump over that before diving down with an ice kick to the head, causing natsu to bend down and by the time he looks up, Sueong upper cuts him right in the face, "GUH!" sending him flying back, and he recovers with a back landing.
"Amazing..." Caramille mutters as her and everyone else see their evenly matched battle.
"This trial is spinning out of control!" Kashima exclaims out.
"This is some fight we're witnessing up close..." Jetoal sweats/grins a little at this level of exchange.
"They're both evenly matched..." Gray mutters in surprise.
Natsu jumps and launches a fireball, which Sueong steps his foot on the ground and an ice wall is formed, blocking it. Natsu dashes and full bashed through the wall, but sueong ain't there and is above him. Before he could dive a kick, Natsu catches it with both hands and slams him to the ground. Before he could do more, sueong flash-freezes him with a fist bash to the ground before following it up with an Ice roar, shattering the flash freeze ice and send Natsu back, which he remains in fighting position and before he started moving for a next attack, Sueong extends a hand out, revealing to control the spiked ice shards(that were shatter from the ice wall) above natsu, who looks up and sees he's in the middle.
"Scatter Shower." Sueong puts his hand in a downward position, controlling the ice shards to launch down at natsu, who proceeds to dodge them but gets cut by a few of them. After dodging, "HA!" Natsu increases his dark heat and melts all the remaining ice shards.
A looks on without saying a word as the heat dies down, knowing this means he'll have to step it up a notch like he is. Also knowing that fighting here is the best because of the citizens, "If we keep increasing our element temperatures, especially natsu, the people here aren't gonna last a second. They're already a burden as it is." He forms ice under his feet and turns the other way, "We're taking this fight elsewhere!"
Sueong proceeds to skid out of they're current location, ostarting a chase through the city.
"Natsu!" Lucy exclaims out, seeing him going after sueong into the city.
"Sueong's retreating?" Gray questions in surprise, doesn't get it at all.
"He's luring Natsu away to another location with no one around." Erza figures out, sweating a little.
"But why..." Wendy has a worried look, "We just defeated mercuphobia together and now natsu and sueong are fighting each other?"
"..." Lucy gets what she means too.
"Yeah, but natsu is the one going out of control, while sueong looks to be normal." Carla noticed awhile ago.
"Even that water dragon slayer girl was normal after she eat the water God's element." Happy added.
"It's like when one slayer consumes a dragon gods affinity... they each have different methods of control." Erza states, looking down.
"In an case, we need to stop those two, especially Natsu." Gray purposes they do so, which the team agrees before running after them.
With Team sueong, "Smart..." Jetoal notices sueong's plan, "I see what he's doing, deciding to take the fight elsewhere without the citizens being a burden."
"Same." Tyrone noticed as well, "Where they're heading is when they'll really let lose and go all-out."
"We should at least follow them. I have a bad feeling that things might get out of hand over there." Chellial suggests, narrowing a worried expression.
"We all agree on that." Kanata nods.
"It's still strange how Natsu is going out of control after eating that fire dragon God's flames, but the same didn't happen to you or sueong." Hiouis states, paw on his chin in thinking.
"Yeah... it's so weird, isn't it?" Kanata agrees.
"We'll discuss that after this is over." Chellial said, before looking at the direction sueong and Natsu went.
"Indeed we shall, now let's follow them and see how this really turns out." Tyrone states away and they nod before also running after the slayers.
Meanwhile: With his feet having fire-like rockets, Natsu chases sueong(who's skiing) through the city at high-speed. Keeping up with his close from behind.
As they continue moving, Natsu makes the first move and fires a dark fire-blast from his left hand, which sueong turns around and forms an ice-arm shield to block the attack, still skiing around the city path corners.
"Kuh!" Sueong skiies in another direction to run off the fire blast, causing it to blast to another building, therefore, causing a large explosion.
In this smoked part of the city, Sueong goes on the offensive(still skiing away) and with his hand extended, he lanuches multiple high-speed ice-lances which Natsu rocket dodges one-by-one, causing them to crash and destroy some buildings, freezing a part of the area as well. In his position, "RAH!" Natsu begins a rapid launch of dark flame balls, which sueong skids fast and avoids them back-to-back as it destroys and makes explosions out the buildings.
As they kept moving between buildings, they kept up the fireball and Lance exchange. Most of the times, Sueong would be on defense as he's moving them elsewhere, while Natsu is on offense due to an out-of-control mindset and his rage. Even as they continue, ice is left in some areas while a trail of fire is in the city from natsu's fire rocket-feet.
After a high amount of trading attacks while Skiing/Soaring rockets. The chase continues to a large forest across the sea. Before getting out the city, Natsu uses a big attack, with his hands in position and darkly exclaims, "Fire Dragon King's: Gleaming Fire!" A big dark fire ball is launched as the medium sea evaporates from the presences of that attack, almost like an acid shower. Sueong stops where he's at and slams his fist to the ground, "Ice Dragon King: Tricycle Beasts!" With spreading ice, Three ice serpents are formed. One of them get destroyed upon taking the hit of Gleaming fire, while the other two make their way at Natsu, who soars in the air. The latter flames punches the first one, shatter it and barely jump dodges the 3rd one before attack blasting it with a king's roar, melting the last serpent away.
Natsu makes his way down at sueong with his fist extended. Making an Ice pillar beneath him, Sueong goes up right back at him with ice fist extended and in the air, the Dragon slayers clash, fire and ice fists not backing down from the other.
"Grr...!" They both sneer at the other, pushing their weight on their fist before an explosion occurs between their attacks, sending them back to the ground. The presence of their collision burned/froze the forest area they're in.
"Burn... I'll burn every part of you... till there's nothing left but ashes..." Natsu sneers darkly.
"You don't have what it takes to back up those words, natsu." Sueong blows fog out his mouth, with his left eye shadowed, and dark Ice arms ready in his fighting position, "From here on, it's no more words, we just stick to fighting... now let's go!"
Natsu brings more heat to his dark fire arms and does so by rocketing at him. Sueong fires an Ice cube, which an natsu burns through before attacking with his fist extended. Sueong anticipates his attacks this time, and dodges the incoming right hook before elbowing natsu right to the square face and making him slide back, "Right now, Natsu is nothing but like a mindless boar that'll attack randomly without delay and I'll use that to my advantage!" Seeing the latter launch a fire ball via mouth, sueong prepares to block, however, it was aimed at the ground, smoke covering him, "A distraction?" Sueong looks around, at that moment, "Fire Dragon King's: Natsu almost striked him and he barely dodged and got out of the smoke before firing 5 ice shards from his dark iced arm.
Burning the shards before they could touch him, Natsu is quick to dash at sueong again, who defends and now they're clashing dark fire and dark ice. Tilting his head from an incoming punch, Sueong strikes back natsu in the stomach, "GAH!" He flies back, but recovers and attacks, "Fire Dragon King's: ROAR!"
"Ice Dragon King's: ROAR!" Sueong counters and both attacks collide, messing up the landscape around them.
Meanwhile and separately, both teams rush to where the slayers are fighting, seeing a fogged explosion as they catch up.
"It's getting worse by the minute!" Gray exclaims.
"Natsu..." Lucy thought, worried.
Also, "Things are getting heated over there, aren't they?" Jetoal asks, still amazed.
"This is no time to be amazed, so let's hurry to where sueong is!" Chellial said.
"We know that." Tyrone said, not needing a remind, "She's that concerned for him, huh?"
Back to the fight:
As the smoke clear, both staring each other down from their 15 feet distance.
"Grrr!" Natsu blows smoke from his mouth, darkly.
"*Whoosh*" Sueong blows cold fog out of his, darkly as well.
He then appears behind natsu and goes for a kick, which Natsu manages to low dodge. They exchange in another close combat fight, both dodging attacks from the other. Natsu goes for a fire punch, which sueong dodges and throws ice shards, which natsu dodges as well before punching a blast, which sueong dodges before trying to strike him him with his arm-blade, but natsu leans back to dodge. Before sueong could deliver another blade strike, natsu punches him in the face, "GURH!" He's sent flying, sliding on the ground a bit but recovers. When Natsu dashes for another attack, Sueong scoffs and does a spiked ice pillar heading his way, which Natsu stops in his tracks and is forced to hold it back as he's send back the other way. The pillar tip starts impaling in his side stomach a little, spilling some blood, "GRGH!" Natsu burns the pillar spike top before it could go further down and does so with the rest of ice pillar. With fogged smoke arising from the fire colliding with ice, Sueong goes on the offense this time and uses the smoke as cover before doing a dive strike with his full sword, which Natsu dodges back, but with his sword stuck in the ground, sueong uses that to spin around and kick Natsu in the chest, making him stumble. Still having his grip on the blade after landing, a wave of ice skids at Natsu way form the blade's tip in the ground. Natsu is forced to be caught and trapped in ice again.
Now to finish this drown out battle." Sueong breaks his blade off the ground and into a spear, rearing it back with his other arm extended, "Ice Dragon King's: Icicle Spear!" It's thrown into the ice age wave, exploding the ice upon impact.
With a gust of wind from that, Sueong glances at it calmly, blowing some fogged smoke out of his mouth in a job well-done.
However, once the gust and smoke clears, Natsu's revealed to be standing, but took the full force of that attack, having taken the spear to the left side of his stomach, "GUH...!" Natsu pants and grunts darkly, and with right hand on the ice spear in him; his dark fire fists melts it all the way, freeing himself.
"So stubborn..." Sueong finds it a bit shocking he took that and still stands, but knows that did a lot of damage to him, "Either way, he's not taking another full brunt like that. He's on his last legs and this next one will finish it!"
Natsu prepares a large fire ball fist, meaning he's trying to end it with the next strike too.
Sueong encases his frost fists even more with dark ice, both slayers using everything thing they got.
Now jumping in the air at each in this messed up landscape:
"RAAAAHHH!" Natsu yells.
"HAAAAAAA!" Sueong yells.
Both the Demolition fist and Absolute Polar fist collide.
The steam coming from them was filling up almost the whole field.
When both teams separately get to where they are at the same time. A huge shockwave from their clash starts destroying the landscape. Both teams start bracing themselves.
A large crater is there from the collision and the two slayers crash to the ground.
With the smoke clearing, both teams, out on the edge, look down to see the outcome.
"Tell me, it's over..." Happy sweats nervously, having had enough of this.
"Tch..." Gray tightens a fist at this crater.
On another end, "Who won?" Hiouis wonders, looking over.
"The smoke's clearing..." Tyrone glances.
The smoke reveals one standing... and that's Sueong, who pants heavily with large burnt areas all over him.
"There's sueong!" Kanata exclaims, which chelliel sighs in relief.
"Hold on, but what about natsu?!" Wendy exclaims, worried.
The smoke clears on the other end, to reveal natsu on the ground(by his back), unconscious.
"You were on thin ice this entire time... I wasn't taken over by my element..." Sueong pants as he glances the unconscious natsu.
The rest of team natsu shocked, even seeing the small hole on the side of his stomach from the ice spear.
"W...what?!" Erza winces, shock, so does Gray.
"No way...!" Carla mutters, while wendy covers her mouth in shock.
"He lost...!" Happy gets teary eyed.
Lucy drops to the ground and in teary eyes, exclaims, "N...NATSU!"
With team sueong, "Wow... that was an amazing battle...!" Jetoal is stunned and amazed at this outcome.
"Sueong managed to pull it off..." Hiouis is amazed/stunned as well, but glad his partner won and is fine.
"Phew..." Chellial sighs in relief, especially glad too.
"He's in bad shape too... look at all those burns." Kanata mutters, but also glad he's okay.
As Sueong rests for his supposed victory, "Not... yet..."
"!" Sueong and the teams see natsu slowly struggle and gets up, panting heavily, still maintaining his dark fire arms.
"I must... burn everything... till there's nothing left..." Natsu, while in bad shape, refuses to back down.
"He's still standing after all that?!" Tyrone exclaims, stunned and sweats a little at this.
"Is he some kind of monster...?!" Kanata exclaims, finding that impossible.
The most, Sueong starts getting extremely pissed at the fire slayer standing and exclaims, now mad, "Damn... you stubborn bastard!" He gets annoyed with natsu persistence at not staying down, and slowly extends his right dark iced hand, forming one lance, "This will put you out of your misery!"
"Well damn, I've never seen sueong this angry before." Tyrone admits, surprised.
"Same here." Jetoal nods, "Should we do something or..."
Chellial clicks her teach and only decides to run down to the crater to stop him.
Natsu advances towards sueong to strike again, "RAAH...!"
"Natsu, that's enough!" Gray exclaims with a hand extended.
"Natsu, wake up!" Erza exclaims.
Lucy tears up sadly and rushes down to the crater as well to stop natsu.
As natsu comes closer, Sueong was about to launch the ice lance his way until,
"Stop!" Vines come from the ground, wrapping around sueong's body and extended arm, Chellial stands a bit far back behind and tries saying, with a sad look, "You don't have to go this far, please sueong!" Even through she restrained him, her hands start to get frozen with severe frostbites from his cold aura, even her vines get frozen instant on sueong, "Ugh..!" She grunts in pain as she still in her position.
Natsu was still advance slowly until Lucy hugs him from behind, but ends up getting her chest severely burned from the heat as she tries hanging on. "Uhh... ghh...!"
Even though the vines shattered off him, Sueong glances behind and widens his eyes(shocked) in seeing his cold aura giving her frostbites, "Chellial!" Seeing what his cold is doing, he forces himself to shut off his amped power, the scales on him receding, as well as his dark ice arms receding, but still leaving him numb.
Lucy also calms natsu down, muttering with eyes closed, "It's over now... natsu... I'm here so it's alright."
Both teams are stunned speechless at their slayers outcome of these amps.
Natsu finally come back to his senses, scales receding and his dark flames gone, but his arms deeply been burned and asks, "The fight's over...?!"
As Sueong looks down at his numb hand, "I really did lose it that time..."
Meanwhile, on a hill top far from the crater that the teams are standing in, a mysterious figure with a cloak, having watched the whole fight that happened with mercuphobia, as well as the fight between sueong and natsu. His expression is not that much of a happy one as he then speaks, "So it's them... those two dragon slayers that took him down." He glares from a distance at the two as his hair blows from the wind.
That's done. This raps up the brutal fight between the amped Ice and Fire slayers.
As for the Mysterious figure in the end from afar, who could he be? A friend or foe?
As for the amps:
Natsu = Out of control
Sueong = More Violent
