Originals/HP Crossover: The Way to the Future is Through the Past:

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Return

AN: I know that in the books the ministry 6 were more injured but in the movie less so, I'm using the movie version.

"Harry!" Sirius screamed as he watched his godson take a spell meant for him, a spell that knocked him through the veil of death.

Sirius felt empty as he watched the last of his chosen family die. He didn't even hear his insane cousin cackling.

The only sound that could be heard in the room was Bellatrix's insane laughter, a laughter that was broken when claps were heard from the shadows of the room. From the shadows emerged a man remarkably similar to James Potter. He wasn't alone though, a blonde woman at his side.

"Well, brother it looks like it finally begins." A roguish man said stepping out of the shadows as well. After he did more followed 3 men and 2 women.

The James Potter look-alike laughed, "Finally, it's been hell waiting all these years Nik."

"James?" Sirius said in a broken whisper, as he watched his cousin Nymphadora walk right next to the man and kiss him. She didn't stop there as she then kissed the blonde woman.

"It's been hell waiting for me to hero!" an infectious grin on the resident Metamorph's face.

The blonde woman let out a chuckle, "I think it's worse for our love Nymphadora, it has been 1000 years since this day for him."

He shook his head fondly at the two women, "Indeed." He turned and looked at Bellatrix, "Thank you for sending me through the veil Bella, you gave me what I always wanted, a family."

For once it seemed Bellatrix was at a loss for words.

"Harry?" Sirius turned to see it was Hermione that said his godson's name. The gears in Sirius Black's head started to turn as he realized that the man was his godson, a godson that was much older than even him if the 1000 years comment was true.

"Hey, little sis." Harry said with affection before he turned and looked at the rest of the strangers and his face turned feral, "You can kill the death eaters but Bellatrix is mine."

In a blur, the strangers moved as one as they started ripping the death eaters apart. The only sound in the room was their screams.

Bellatrix turned tail and ran, something from which Harry didn't stop her as he watched her with amusement as he slowly made his way toward her.

As Harry exited the room the Order raised their wands at the strangers.

"Oi! There on our side." Tonks yelled.

"Our side! They're Vampires!" Mad-eye yelled.

The one called Nik gave an amused smirk at the man, "Oh, were much more than that." As he said that his eyes flashed amber, which terrified the Order due to the blood dripping down his mouth.

Tonks walked right up to Nik and smacked him on the back of the head, "Stop scaring them werepire."

Nik looked insulted as one of the women, a long black-haired beauty started laughing, as did the blonde, the rest looked highly amused.

Nik rolled his eyes before one of the men, in a wonderfully tailored suit coughed loudly to get their attention. "I believe it is time we make our way to Grimmauld. The headmaster was kind enough to give me this while he and Hadrian deal with Riddle." He held out a long rope.

"How do we know you aren't lying." The suspicious Auror demanded, causing his protégé Tonks to shake her head.

"He told me to say a Phoenix rises amongst the ashes."

Mad eye gave a curt nod, still highly suspicious of them. He directed all of the inhabitants to grab the rope, and when they all did the man said activate and they were whisked away.

They landed in the foyer of number 12. The man ushered them forward into the dining room, when the door opened the inhabitants stilled because sitting at the table was two people that had been dead for over 14 years. James and Lily Potter.

The order went to raise their wands but were quickly disarmed by the man that led them there.

"Elijah be gentle, their friends," Lily said with a small smile.

"How?" The broken Sirius said while Remus stiffened.

"They're vampires Sirius." He said with a slight growl, the wolf in him reacting to all the vampires in the room.

"Sit, we will explain everything once Harry gets here," James said.

Sirius near ran forward and pulled them into a hug, which they gladly reciprocated. Sirius cried as he held his two friends, friends he never thought that he would see again. 20 minutes later the front door opened, with Harry appeared holding a baby, followed by Albus Dumbledore. The strangers seemed to coo over the baby as Harry handed her to Tonks.

"I think she's hungry Luv."

Tonks smiled at him as she made her way out of the room followed by the beaming blonde.

Albus gestured for all of them to sit, which they did, "Are you, Harry?" Ginny asked with a large amount of hurt in her voice, possibly due to Tonks and the Blonde.

"I am." He nodded to her.

"Mr. Potter has a story he needs to tell all of us."

Harry shot the headmaster a glare before clearing his throat, "To start with this day happened to me more than 1000 years ago."

"You're a vampire?" Hermione asked.

"In a way." He said while he gestured to a cup, and it slowly rose in the air. Questions seemed to appear in the bushy-haired young woman's eyes before he gestured for her to hold them.

"We're the firsts darling?" One of the men said with a smirk on his face.

"Enough Kol," Harry said and the man gave a mock pout.

"Wait, Kol, Nik… Niklaus! and Hadrian. Merlin, you're the originals." Hermione half asked and the rest in wonder.

Harry chuckled as the order seemed to still at the declaration, "Brightest witch indeed."

Then his face turned serious, "My story begins when I got hit through the veil. I was in another dimension, a pocket one if you will. I was met by a man who called himself Arcadius."

Pausing he looked around the room and saw that Luna's eyes went wide and she looked terrified, "Yes Luna, Cade, or as the rest of the world knows him, the devil."

Terror seemed to be the predominant emotion. "He told me he owed my family a debt, and since I had one of the artifacts, he gave my family on me he wouldn't reap my soul."

"Artifact?"

"The cloak of death, from the story of the three brothers. Ignotus Peverell was my ancestor and the only one who passed Cade's test. Don't ask me about the test because I don't know even a 1000 years later."

"Your cloak was one of the deathly hallows?" Ron said in wonder.

Harry shrugged, "I guess, he didn't explain. Continuing on instead of sending me back, he decided to send me into the past. I don't know why; all I know was that I was hurt because of the transit. I was found by Mikael who with the help of his wife Esther nursed me back to health."

The originals seemed to scowl at the mention of Mikael.

"They were… intrigued by my powers, to say the least. I owed them a life debt. They gave me the option of marrying their daughter when she turned 15 or me and my children being in their service for the next 200 years."

He took a calming breath, "I was inclined to the second option and just never siring children, at least until they told me that Rebekah would wed a man of 50, manipulative cunts." He scowled at that as did the rest of them.

"So, I accepted the first option. She was 12 when I met her, and we wed when she was 15." He smiled sadly, "It wasn't easy at first, her siblings hated me, at least until they learned the other option."

"If we would have known the other option, we wouldn't have hated you for nearly a year, and Beks would have been overjoyed," Niklaus said.

"The originals are related to each other?" Hermione asked.

"Yes, brothers and a sister."

She nodded at him.

"Anyway, about three months after the wedding she fell pregnant, and we had a daughter." His face was one of joy before it darkened, "She was healthy, but she passed in the night when she was 4 months old. It broke us for a time."

Lily put a comforting hand on her son, no one noticed one of the originals looking away, a look of guilt on his face.

"Even 1000 years later it still hurts. By the time we started trying again, a tragedy struck."

Niklaus took over for his brother, "Me and my youngest brother Henrik went out to watch the werewolves on the full moon, they attacked and killed him. Father became enraged."

The long black-haired woman pulled him into a hug. Harry decided to continue, "He forced Esther to create a spell. Where the wolves could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster, agility, strength, senses all enhanced."

"It had consequences though, we became immortal, unkillable. Most of us had a bloodlust, they couldn't control it." Harry said solemnly.

Niklaus let out a chuckle, "You and Elijah always did have the most control."

"For me, though it was much easier, you see the spell that created us was through Wiccan or earth magic as it is known in Britain. Since I had a magical core, I retained my magic."

"I still say bullshit on you and Nik," Kol said with a chuckle.

"Why Nik?" Hermione asked.

"I'm a hybrid as well, just a different kind."

Hermione went to ask only for Harry to silence her with a glare, "Esther bound his second side and failed to bind me, so, Klaus and I killed her."

The originals seemed to not even look angry at the action. "The next 900 odd years we spent together. Sage was the first to join us when she married Finn." He nodded to one of the originals and the auburn-haired woman.

"Then Helena Ravenclaw joined us when she married Klaus." The order started to look at the black-haired woman in wonder, she rolled her eyes.

"When 1900 finally reached us, I told them everything. Rebekah was not happy that I kept that I was a time traveler from her for over 900 years."

Elijah let out a chuckle, "Brother I do believe that decade you spent on the couch was a wonderful lesson."

Harry grimaced, "When 1980 came around I found and gave Mum and Dad a vial of my blood to drink on the evening of October 31st, 1981."

"You had them turn into vampires without their consent?" Sirius disgust laced in his voice.

"He didn't," Lily said.

James nodded, "he told us everything and we agreed. Because it was his blood that turned us, we retained our magic."

"I compelled them to forget because I couldn't allow them to try to change anything. Wizards and Witches that mess with time suffer."

"I would have suffered if it meant you didn't," Lily said with anger in her voice.

Harry ran his hand through his unruly hair, "I know, but we don't know what would have happened if you interfered."

"Besides I'm sure you would like to deal with the Dursleys yourself." Lily looked positively feral at the mention of her bitch relatives.

"I'm probably going to turn them so I can torture them for at least a century." Lily gleefully said.

"Mrs. Potter you need to be the bigger person." Albus chided.

Lily stood up glaring at him, "Listen here Albus those monsters abused my son, they are going to pay with blood. If you hadn't sealed our will, he would have been raised by Andromeda Tonks due to the betrothal contract with Nymphadora."

"Betrothal contract?" Sirius said with a scrunched-up face.

Harry looked equal parts amused and equal parts annoyed, "Yes, apparently you and dad got blitzed and made a contract for the two of us when I was only 6 months old. To be fair it was an old Black, Potter contract. Nymphadora and I were the only two eligible."

Seeing the glares directed at him, Sirius shrunk into his seat and mumbled, "Sorry."

Harry waved it away, "It's fine me and Rebekah came to an understanding around 1985, 4 years after we found out about the contract. Honestly, I don't know why the contract didn't break since I'm technically dead."

"Probably because you retained your magic, most contracts are based on magic," Albus spoke up.

"The kid?"

Turning his gaze to Ginny causing her to flinch, "Aphrodite Rebekah Potter, or Dite for short."

"How is it possible for a vampire to have a kid?" Hermione asked.

"Probably because I'm a hybrid."

"Tonks is the mother? I knew she had a kid 3 months ago, but she never told me about the father." Mad-Eye questioned.

"Tonks is a mother, and Rebekah is Dite's second mother. Even if she didn't provide any genetic material, she was very active in the creation."

This caused Hermione and Ginny to blush and the Originals to scowl while Helena, Sage, and Lily looked amused.

"We met with Andromeda, Nymphadora's mother, and told her everything when Tonks was in her first year. It was to make sure she knew about the contract, to not endanger Nymphadora since contracts are always skewed towards the male."

He paused, "Me and Rebekah decided to not meet her until she was out of Hogwarts. We then told her everything. It took her a bit to get used to the idea, but funnily enough, before she was 19, she seduced Rebekah first." His face showed his amusement at the situation.

"We married about 3 months before her 20th birthday, we were incredibly surprised when she fell pregnant about a year ago."

Hermione saw the look of happiness that was reflected in her oldest friends' eyes. The same look was present on the faces of all the originals. In those eyes, she saw the promise of death that would happen if anyone so much as hurt that little girl.

Hermione didn't see a family of immortals at that moment, all she saw was a family that loved fiercely. He was still her Harry, her best friend, even if he had 1000 more years on his belt. Sure, he was different, but he was still the same boy that saved her from a troll and killed a Basilisk all because it petrified her in her second year.

Hermione decided then and there that no matter what she would be there for them all. Harry had always been like her brother, which meant his wives and in-laws were her family. A family she would die for.

Harry saw his best female friend's eyes change. Harry had 1000 years to read people, and in those eyes, he saw the fierce protectiveness that was reflected in his family. It was heartwarming even to the cold fierce Hadrian Mikaelson. A name he would finally shed, he was Harry James Potter even if for most of his life he had been Hadrian Mikaelson.

1000 years had been wonderful and cruel to him. He found a family that he loved more than life itself. Sure, it had not all been sunshine and rainbows. Klaus was very volatile for the first century, at least until he met and fell in love with Helena while she lay dying in the forests of Albania.

Klaus had always been quick to anger and with Mikael hunting them he had been constantly on edge. Even after meeting Helena, he hadn't lost that edge, but she tempered him so that for the first time in his life he felt at peace.

Mikael almost killed Helena in the 15th century, but at that moment, he made a mistake. He taunted Klaus, which gave Hadrian the time he needed to subdue the man. His brothers helped him hold Mikael down long enough for Klaus to kill the man with the white oak stake that Mikael had been carting around for centuries. Unfortunately, Katerina had gotten away in the chaos, causing Klaus to remain bound.

For once they didn't have to run anymore though. They settled, unlike what Esther believed they weren't a plague on the world. Without the need to run, they finally had time to lay roots and feel peace. They stopped indiscriminately killing and feeding. Not that they didn't kill, they were just careful, they didn't want their neighbors to turn on them.

They eventually moved on to New Orleans in the early 18th century, helping build the community. They kept the peace for over 100 years. They were well respected by the Wiccan and werewolf community. Although a faction of the witches turned on them in the early 1900s, calling him, Helena, and Klaus abominations.

When they killed them, people started fearing them. So, they left again. They mostly went their separate ways, avoiding Europe, due to his revelations. They then met up in early 1981, because things were finally starting to sync up. For the last 15 years, they had been together trying to get things ready to take out Voldemort, so that Harry could finally have the peace they believed he deserved.

His family had been with him every step of the way, they even helped him save his mother and father. He didn't even think of it until Rebekah brought it up. He felt incredibly stupid, much to their amusement.

He would do anything for his family. Long ago he had made a pact with Klaus that he would never turn anyone without his permission, at least until his brother was unbound. In 1000 years, he had only turned Helena and his parents.

To him, the Mikaelson's were more important than creating Hybrids. All he needed was his family, Always and Forever.

AN: This is one idea I wrote a while ago. I have three Originals/HP crossover story ideas. At the moment I have only written two of them, I will post the other one soon. I don't know which I will use. At the moment this is one I like the best, mostly because it gives Harry his old family and his new one and 1000 years of experience.

I have a bunch more story ideas that I plan on posting soon, mostly first chapters and such. I don't know when/if I will continue them. Currently working on a 4-to-5-part Andromeda Tonks time travel story, roughly 20 to 30k words. I'm still focused on An Unexpected Development; I have had some writers block with that, so I haven't finished the next chapter yet (it's close though).

Teddy Lupin Chapter 2 is done outside of editing. I hope to publish that either tomorrow or the next day.

I'll start trying to post more regardless of the hateful comments. I get 9 good reviews but the 1 out of 10 I get of bad reviews I always dwell on unfortunately. I know I'm not the best writer and I am trying to get better. I even use Grammarly now! I don't mind reviews that help me, I just don't like reviews that bash continuously.

Now onto the story notes: As people that read my works know I always pair Harry/Tonks. Rebekah being added to the relationship is mostly because I wanted him having a foot in both worlds. Yes, for those that watched the Originals Rebekah and Harry's daughter was taken by Dahlia. Hope will also still exist, let's just say Helena and Klaus are adventurous. Kol will be paired with Hermione. Elijah I'm not sure about yet, maybe Fleur.

I wanted someone for Klaus that would make him not so murder happy. Helena while a canon character isn't explored all that much (probably because she was a 1000-year-old ghost). In this story the Brotherhood of the five daggered them but Klaus and Harry removed said daggers and hid them. Klaus never daggered his siblings in this story. His wife tempered him and with an unwavering brother like Harry who like him is a hybrid holding him at bay. Harry refusing to turn magicals until Klaus was unbound is a big part in the trust they share. He has only broken his rule thrice with each approved by his brother.

Klaus in canon always felt like an outsider because he was a hybrid, he had this whole part of him he couldn't access for 1000 years. Harry while not bound helped them relate to each other. They even killed Esther together lol.
