The Watcher looked down on the team who were on the jet, heading back towards Central City with all they found, the children with extremely powerful abilities. And there was something that needed to be cleared.
Peter walked over to Jessica, who was still holding Gerry. She didn't let him go long enough for her to go to the bathroom. But after everything that she's gone through, it's understandable. Thinking it's a dream that would leave you the second you took your eyes off it.
"So...is it okay if we talked?" Peter asked Jessica as he sat down in front of her, using a box to sit.
"I suppose you were gonna find out." Jessica sighed and kept her son close. "I don't know how, or when, but they got a sample of your DNA and kept it on hand. Guess they figured mine and your DNA mixed would give them a new weapon."
Peter looked and recognized some similarities between him and Gerry when he was a kid. Smiling a little, he caressed the kid's face, earning a giggle.
"Why didn't you just tell me?" Peter wondered.
"Wanted to see if you guys were willing to help someone who wasn't related." Jessica shrugged, a few tears coming out. "And a little bit because I was worried that you would want to take him away."
Peter sighed and knew even if he wanted to, this kid is just his DNA forced onto this poor girl who needed to escape HYDRAs clutches.
"It's okay. I have no desire to tear you two apart." Peter promised her. "In fact, we're gonna make a quick stop on our way to Central City."
"What?" Jessica asked, not following where he's going. Literally and figuratively.
"I feel like we shouldn't take you back to the same city we just plotted from." Peter explained to her. "I'm gonna drip you and your son off to a friend of mine, he'll get you set up with a place, a real ID, and maybe find you a job. HYDRA won't think to look for you in one of the largest cities in the world, and you will be protected if they do come for you."
Jessica smiled and looked down to Gerry. "When I'm all set up, would you like to visit?"
"I'd be honored." Peter said and looked to Gerry. "I might not be his father, at least by choice, but I'll be whatever role you want me to be in his life."
"Thanks." Jessica said as the ship landed outside of New York, in the middle of Central Park. Luckily it was dark out, so almost nobody was around except for Peter's friend.
Peter walked out with a smile and shook his hand. "Matt."
"Been a while, Peter." Matthew Murdock greeted Peter as Jessica and Gerry came out of the jet. "Jessica, I assume."
"Yes, sir." Jessica greeted him as if she were speaking to a HYDRA superior.
"Matt, please." Matt tells her and gestures her to follow him. "I'll be able to set you up with a place for the night, and we can work on something more permanent later."
"Thank you." Jessica said to both of them as Peter watched the two of them walk away.
Sighing, knowing this was the best thing to do with the fact that Reed is still out there. He killed his boss to get hands on the Symbiote to get them out of hiding. If he learned that he had a son, there's no telling what he would do to get his hands on him. Gerry deserves to live a normal life, as normal as it could be with the fact that he has powers.
Harley was currently in the labs, packing her bags to get ready to head back to Sterling City.
"Is there really nothing we can do to convince you to stay?" Tess wondered. "It's been fun so far."
"Yeah, well, this city's got plenty of heroes to keep it safe. Starling can't say the same." Harley informed her. "Peter called in and said they'd be back in a hour, so I think the city should be safe."
"It's been fun." Jessica said as she gave her a shake.
"Yeah, it has." Harley agreed. "And hey, if you need our help, just come to Starling."
"Our?" Bette asked, not following that.
"Oh, yeah, your redhead and her sister asked to tag along." Harley explained as Medusa and Crystal made it to them.
"We thank you for your hospitality, but we decided after the team showed us what our powers could do to help benefit this world, so we believe we should go and help her in the crime ridden city." Medusa explained to them.
"Guess that makes sense." Tess supposed, considering this team is getting a bit full as it is.
The jet then finally landed outside of the Labs and the team exited the ship to see the others were already there waiting for them.
"Hey." Peter greeted, seeing all of them are confused on the two girls and no sign of Jessica or Gerry. "Don't worry, they're fine. They just needed to stay away in case HYDRA comes looking."
"And who are these?" May asked, looking at the girls.
"Gang, meet Karolina Dean and Katherine Power." Peter said as the others left the jet. "They're gonna be staying with us for a while, we need to see exactly what they can do."
"Can do?" Cisco asked, getting excited. "Are they powerful?"
"Ones an alien." Peter informed him, getting an excited squeal from the man. That's when Goose came out and purred against his leg.
"Kitty!" Franklin suddenly got excited as he walked over and pet the cat.
"What's with the cat?" Caitlin wondered.
"He was at the facility." Peter shrugged, no idea why.
"Anything exciting happen while we were gone?" Johnny asked as he strolled over and laid a hand on Sue's shoulder.
"We caught a villain who could teleport." Sue said smugly, trying to rub it in her brother's face.
"Of course, you did." Johnny sighed, regretting it as all he really did was shoot a few HYDRA Agents with his fire.
"And Caitlin got a date with my CSI partner." Sharon commented as she walked past and got into the jet.
"She did now, did she?" Peter asked with a coy smile as he looked to his friend who started to blush. "Great to see you getting back out there."
"Well, it's just a cup of coffee." Caitlin shrugged and saw the time. "But I'm gonna be late for that cup if I don't get out of here."
"Well, then run, Caitlin, run." Jennifer told her and Caitlin rolled her eyes and walked off to her car.
"Hey." Sharon called Peter back into the jet. "Fury called me off. Said you guys got things handled and thinks that I should be ready for another assignment."
Peter was sad to hear that, loving this family time they had. "Well, we knew it was only temporary."
"Yeah, doesn't make it hurt any less." Sharon sighed and gave her cousin a hug. "See you around."
"Yeah, you be safe." Peter told her.
"No promises." Sharon said as she got in the pilot seat and Peter exited the vehicle as she then took off to the sky.
As everyone made their way inside, Peter brought the cube in to STAR Labs and dropped it on Cisco's desk. He immediately jumped at the clang and was shocked at what he was seeing.
"What is that?" Cisco asked Peter.
"From what I could gather, the HYDRA scientists referred it as the Tesseract." Peter answered. "I have no idea what else they said, because it was all in German. And I took Latin in high school, not German. But I know you did." He then took a few notebooks regarding the cube. "Need you to decipher what these say, figure out what that thing does, and if we should be concerned. We have no idea what they were doing with this thing, and we have no idea what it's capable of."
Cisco picked it up and watched it glow and listened to its humming. "Wow. It almost looks like the AllSpark from Transformers."
"Of course it looks like that to you." Peter sighed and rolled his eyes. "I honestly thought it looked more like the Energon Cube."
"Ooh, it does." Cisco had to agree before they both sighed.
"We're nerds." They both said with sadness and knew that was partially why they could never get dates.
Peter then returned to Mercury labs and decided it was time to talk to the lawyers, but first ran by his old college roommate, Hank Pym.
"Hey, Hank." Peter greeted as he strolled over to his friend with the USB about everything from HYDRAs studies.
"Hey, Pete. How are things going on?" Hank wondered. "How's your new roommate?"
"Well, Sue's doing well. Her kids are a delight. Kinda nice." Peter admitted as he went to the bedrock on why he's here. "Listen, I came across something that I was hoping you could help me decipher." He then dropped the USB onto the table and Hank plugged it in, seeing all of the information it had and was shocked at the first screen.
"Oh my god." Hank said. "This code...it's almost like it's thinking. Where'd you get this?"
"Somewhere I am not allowed to disclose, but let's say it was some bad people who tried to deep-six the data, but I was able to retrieve this. I have a feeling that they were knocking on a specific door. Artificial-"
"Artificial intelligence." Hank interrupted in shock. "We could make artificial intelligence. This could be the key to create my synopsis of a peacekeeping program."
"You mean Ultron?" Peter asked, remembering his thesis that got him into Mercury Labs. "I thought he wasn't possible."
"No, I said impossible in our generation. Possibly even more, but with this...if I can find all of the right coding, I can learn what this was designed off of, and use that as a basis to build Ultron." Hank corrected him and started to decipher the encrypted data.
"Well, I lost you." Peter could see and walked off before turning back around. "How's Janet?"
"Ask her yourself." Someone said as he looked and saw Janet was there.
"Janet!" Peter was happy to see her and pulled her into a hug. "How have you been?"
"Been doing fine." Janet assured him and Peter smiled, remembering the two as his friends the Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Two small insect figures are fighting off an entire base in Russia as the men are trying to shoot them down with no luck as the Watcher observed it all.
"Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. The Ant-Man and the Wasp. Peter didn't hide his secret identity well with his roommate having the ability to shrink and hide from his senses as he wasn't a threat. The three were a heroic trio for a short time until Hank's suit was damaged stopping a nuke that almost cost Janet's life."
Hank and Janet then dropped their masks in a safe and locked it.
"After then, they left their heroic personas behind. Their suits collecting dust in the safe, never to see the light of day as Hank believes the Pym Particle is too dangerous for the world, no matter the good that can be done with it, it can't outlay the bad that it can be used for."
Peter then left his friends and came across the lawyers in Tina's office and they had a few papers and suitcases laid out for him to read.
"Welcome, Peter." Her lawyer said as Peter shook her hand and they took their seats.
"Sorry I couldn't get to you sooner; I was helping someone...move out of their place." Peter decided to go with, it being mostly true. "Pest problem."
"We were going over her Will as we're trying to see what was going to become of her company. We learned something interesting." She then took the file and opened it to a page before showing it to Peter. "If she had no next of kin, she has set up the company to be registered to you."
Peter was only partially listening, yet when he heard that, he looked down and was shocked to see that. "Wait, what?"
"If no next of kin claims the rights, I, Tina McGee, leave Mercury Labs, all of its assets, to Peter Benjaman Parker. I believe once he gets into the swing of it, he'll be able to lead the company into the future of what it needs to become." She reads off the will and showed it to Peter again. "She left everything to you, if you sign now, we can have everything transferred by the end of the day."
"Wait, so she actually left me everything?" Peter wanted to clarify this. "Why me?"
"You left quite the impression on her." She explained. "Said that you were only interested in the advancement of knowledge and safety of humanity, not for fame or money."
Peter then wondered something else before he signed. "What would happen if I were to say no?"
"Then the highest bidder would get the rights, and most likely a few people if not everyone would be out of the job." She took a wild guess.
Peter shrugged and supposed that he could use this to help his friends and the city and decided to sign.
"Thank you." She said and handed a few other papers to sign. "Oh, and just a warning, she also altered the top few floors into basically personal condos with personal labs, due to her staying here most of the time."
Peter didn't know that, but also realized he never actually see her leave the labs. "Huh. Didn't know she lived in her work."
"Only on long nights." She explained and they finished everything up.
"The place known as P.A.R.K.E.R. Industries would never come to pass on this world, as it would soon be turned into something much bigger..." The Watcher said as he saw a glimpse of a building with a giant FF on the side of it that would soon come to pass. "A beacon of hope for this world that would build a foundation for the future."
