When Sue and Peter made it to the others, they were met with the team whimpering and screaming.
"That's weird...what's going on?" Peter wondered, no idea what to make of this.
"And where's our metahuman?" Sue wonders.
"I have a feeling that he got away." Peter said as he walked over and tapped Johnny on the shoulder. "Johnny? Johnny!"
Johnny then shrieked at Peter and jumped back and got ready to attack while looking around. "Where is it?!"
"Where's what?" Peter asked.
"The alien!" Johnny cried as he looked around and saw he was back on Earth. "It...it didn't happen, did it?"
Peter looked at his friend with a sympathetic smile and patted his shoulder. "I think you got whammied."
"I got whammied?" Johnny asked as the others started to wake up.
"What the hell?" Jennifer asked as she looked around.
"I think we should get you guys checked up." Susan said as she helped Jennifer stand up and created a forcefield around Ben in order to carry him back, letting him rest.
Caitlin did a check over on the team, and she didn't really have any way of determining what happened when she showed what she found to them all.
"This is the CAT scans on all of your brains." Caitlin said as she pulled up their scans and they saw the limbic system was still lighting up like a Christmas tree.
"The emotions systems of your brains are still showing signs of being overwhelmed." Harrison took notice.
"It was like a nightmare, but...in 3D." Johnny told them as he was currently curled up on a chair.
"So, this Psycho-Man doesn't just control emotions, but also makes you live through the emotions." Cisco saw as he spun on the chair. "Now the million dollar question: what scared the Human Torch?"
"He's scared of the Alien from Alien." Peter informed him.
"Really?" Cisco asked, looking over to Johnny.
"I snuck in to see it as a kid. My brain never forgot it." Johnny stated with a shutter. "I felt that acid on my skin."
"Until we can find a way to subdue his powers, I would advise to keep a distance from him when attempting to capture him." Tess tells the team.
"I think it'd be best if you guys didn't go back out into the field." Peter warned Johnny, Ben, and Jennifer. "We don't know if after exposure there are any after effects to the attack."
"That sounds like a good idea." Bette agreed with Peter's decision. "Living through your worst fear is the worst thing to happen, even in the army, I've seen how a intense battle could damage a soldier."
"Fine." Johnny groaned and leaned back in the seat.
They then got an alert off the computers and Cisco pulled up what it was. "The facial recognition software on our Psycho-Man."
"Psycho-Man?" Bette asked.
"Well, we don't know if he actually has a name, so I decided to give him one." Cisco explained to her.
"Yeah, but Psycho-Man?" Bette asked. "A little on the nose."
"Well, he turns people psycho and he's a bit of a psycho himself." Cisco defended the name choice.
"Forget the name, since when did we have facial recognition?" Caitlin wondered.
"Since we got friends in S.H.I.E.L.D." Peter answered and looked at the screen. "Where do we find him?"
"Seems he entered a residence at 168 Jarvis." Cisco answered.
"Let's go get him." Peter tells Susan and the two make their way out of the building, quickly changing into their suits.
Once they made it to the location, they were met with a room filled with technical equipment, causing Sue to look in fear when she recognized some of the tech was from the Baxter Building.
"You okay?" Peter asked her.
"Yeah...bad memories here." Susan explained as he sensed something and turned to see Psycho-Man.
"Duck!" Peter cried as he aimed a web shooter.
Susan did as he asked, and Peter shot two strands of webbing and launched himself at the man and punched him in the face.
"You think that'll stop me?" Psych-Man asked as he reached for his wrist as Susan created a forcefield around it to stop him, but he was able to hit one of them.
Before anyone could do anything, Peter went in for a second attack and knocked him out. "Guys, get a cell secure. We're coming in."
When the two came in, Caitlin did a quick CAT scan on them and saw that they were unaffected by the attack on Psycho-Man.
"Your retina and cornea seem unaffected." Caitlin confirmed.
"I told you, he just tapped a button. For all we know, he made us immune to crying." Peter shrugged it off as he didn't even feel any different when Psycho touched the remote.
"Really? Let's test that theory." Johnny dared and looked over to Cisco. "C, go get us a copy of Toy Story 3!"
"The toys we're holding hands in the furnace!" Peter defended to his friends.
"Even I cried at that." Ben admitted to them and noticed Sue rubbing her head. "Susie, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just a little tired." Sue apologized and walked out of the labs. "I'm gonna go get the kids from May and get back."
"Want me to go with you?" Peter wondered as he got up and walked over to her. "I could watch the kids and you could get some rest."
Sue groaned and turned to face Peter with an annoyed look on her face. "I can take care of my kids on my own, Parker."
"Okay, I was just offering some help." Peter quickly stepped down, seeing he must've overstepped somewhere.
Sue then walked off and rubbed her head again as she kept making her way out.
"Did...did I overstep?" Peter wondered, looking over to the others.
"She just gets a little cranky when she's overworked." Jennifer assured him.
"Okay, and what about Psycho-Man?" Peter asked them.
"Sharon said she come by as soon as possible, with an entire S.H.I.E.L.D. squadron to take him away like the others." Caitlin assured him. "You know, minus the whole someone kidnapping them."
"Yeah, we still need to find who kidnapped Multiplex." Peter remembered.
"Hey. So what happened earlier when you left?" Jennifer wondered.
"Oh, just some friend who wanted to show me a new invention of his." Peter said and started to wonder something. "Hey, where are the kids?"
"We left them in the lounge area." Bette answered. "We figured it'd be best to give them a little space."
Peter nodded and followed the halls down to the lounge and saw Karolina and Katherine were around the room, Goose sleeping on the kid's lap. Katie watching some tv whilst Karolina was in the fridge getting some food, but it was like she was stopping herself at the same time.
"Help yourself to anything." Peter assured Karolina, feeling her time at HYDRA made her think twice of anyone giving her anything. "We have more than enough food."
Karolina looked over to him and then back to the fridge and took a few things. "Thanks." She muttered to Peter.
"You're not really a prisoner, you're allowed to talk freely, you know that?" Peter asked as he walked closer to her. "I just wanted to check on you guys."
"Well, Katie's dragged me down to watch some movies." Karolina said as her hand started to turn into a rainbow color.
"Wow. That's amazing." Peter complimented as he looked at her powers showing. "Seems your skills are showing themselves."
"Yeah, being out of that power-dampening dungeon helps." Karolina said as the two then heard the Disney logo coming on the screen. "You know, for a place filled with grownups, you guys really have a lot of kid movies on standby."
"Meh, me and Cisco are the ones who supply the movies, and the others don't have a good taste in movies." Peter explains to Karolina. "Johnny's favorite Star Wars movie is Phantom Menace."
That caused Karolina to groan in disgust. "Ugh. I'll live with Disney movies."
"If you have any requests that you Wanna watch, I'm sure between me and Cisco, we'll have the collection for you." Peter promised.
LATER:
With the S.H.I.E.L.D. squadron, they were transporting Psycho-Man across the city towards the ship.
"We're on our way. Package is secure." Sharon reported into the radio.
"Understood. We'll be waiting."
"So, this guy has the power to control emotions?" The driver asked Sharon.
"According to the report." Sharon shared.
They looked out to the car in front of the transport when the truck was suddenly sent flying across the street into a building.
"What the hell?!" Sharon cried in shock.
"S.H.I.E.L.D., this is transport! We need help!" Sharon called in.
But then the radio returned only static, meaning the wire had been cut. Looking back, the following truck was flown and sent flying. Sharon then braced for whatever it was as the truck was sent flying.
Back at STAR Labs, they looked to the computers and saw there was an attack downtown. The team quickly made it to attack and look to find Sharon groaning and crawling out of the truck.
"Sharon!" Peter cried as he ran over and helped her get out. "What happened?"
"We were...were attack." Sharon pried as the others were looking around and they were hit by something invisible.
"Guys, did you get in contact with Sue?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, she's not picking up." Cisco tells him.
Peter then quickly used his suit and contacted May. "Hey, Peter, do you know when Sue will show up?"
Peter was just about to ask if she could put Sue on the phone and was shocked. "She never showed up? Where is she?"
"Ask and they shall appear." Someone said as Peter looked and saw Sue with glowing red eyes.
"Sue?" Johnny asked and started to approach when he was stopped by Peter. "What's wrong?"
"That's not Sue anymore." Peter stated and leaned Sharon against the truck. "You good?"
"I'll live." Sharon promised.
Peter nodded and looked back to Susan. "She's been affected by Psycho-Man."
"How? I thought you guys weren't affected." Ben stated as he walked next to them, as did Jennifer.
"I wasn't affected." Peter corrected as he looked to Sue. "Cisco, what's this suit made of?"
"First generation unstable molecules that I've been developing." Harrison answered.
"So it must've protected me somehow." Peter took a guess. "Listen, Susan, you've been-"
"Susan Storm is gone!" Susan stated as she raised her hands and stick them inside forcefields. "I am...Malice! Mistress of Evil!"
"Malice?" Jennifer asked in shock, being the only one who recognized the name.
"So, wait, does this mean we gotta fight Sue?" Johnny asked.
"Looks that way." Peter was sorry to say as he went in for the swing, only for Sue to create a forcefield and Peter's hand taking the majority of it.
The others were watching the entire fight on the street cameras and saw that the team didn't stand a chance against the
"They're not gonna survive." Harrison saw.
"We need to help them." Caitlin tells her friends.
"What can we do? We can't fight." Cisco reminded him.
Bette was trying to think of a way to help when she looked down at her hands and had an idea.
"You can't. I can." Bette said, getting their attention. "We don't need to fight, but we can help."
Ben went in for a strike of his own when Susan trapped him in a giant forcefield before she shrunk it and kept him trapped.
"I didn't know she could do that." Jennifer added.
"I don't think she knew." Peter said and looked or Johnny. "Johnny! You gotta distract her."
"What?" Johnny asked.
"Do it!" Peter demanded, causing Johnny to flame on and circle his sister, causing her to try and take him down by using her forcefields. But luckily Johnny was too psychotic to create a pattern with his flight.
"Right where I want you." Peter whispered as he shot out a web to Jennifer as she caught it. "Get me in there."
Jennifer started to understand and tossed him into the flames, allowing him to go in and punch Sue. But that angered her even more as she used a forcefield and pushed it off of herself, knocking everyone back.
Sue then created forcefields around all of them and started to shrink them. "I have had enough of all of you!"
"Yeah, I'm honestly with you." Bette said, getting Susan's attention. She stood proud and tall as she reached down and removed her gloves.
"What are you gonna do? Blow me up?" Susan asked with a chuckle. "We both know you don't have it in you to kill me."
"I know." Bette assured her as she placed her hand on the crashed car. "Run!"
She then took off running, and Sue was immediately caught in the explosion as it sent her flying, as she engulfed herself in a forcefield to stop the explosion. That caused the forcefield that was holding the team down to let go and they all looked around.
"We gotta go." Peter tells them.
"What about Sue?" Johnny asked, not willing to leave his sister.
"We'll find a way to help her later, right now everyone's in danger." Peter said and looked to Jennifer. "Go to May's, get her and the kids. Tell them to pack a few bags."
"On it." Jennifer said as she ran and took a giant leap into the air.
"The rest of us...time to regroup." Peter tells them as they made their way back to the labs.
When they got back to STAR Labs, none of them knew what they were supposed to do next. Sharon was picked up and moved to a S.H.I.E.L.D. Medical facility, and Jennifer (literally) picked up the kids and May as she brought them all to the labs.
Peter finally saw he needed to confess everything to her, only to be surprised she knew everything. But there was still the problem of their location due to Sue being their current base of operations.
"We gotta move shop." Jennifer told them. "Sue knows STAR Labs, she can enter in and out without us even knowing."
"How do we know she's not here already?" Cisco wondered as he looked around suspiciously.
"She's not. My senses would alert us." Peter assured him.
"But she's right. As of right now, STAR Labs isn't safe." Harrison agreed. "Me and Tess will stay, we have a few things that you guys don't even know about that can't end in the wrong hands."
"Where can we go? We don't have anywhere." Ben stated.
Peter thought of it for a moment and realized they might actually have a place to say. "Actually, I might know a place." He then stood up and looked to the others. "Get to your homes. Pack a few bags, anything here that's valuable or personal, take it with you. We might not be back for a while."
The team went through their labs, their homes, took their personal belongings, their projects. Cisco also packed the cube thing, the notes, and Katherine didn't forget to take the cat with them.
They made it to Mercury Labs and then found their way to the private elevator to the penthouses above them. When they took Tina's private elevator (Spacious due to the experimental equipment), they all got ready to go up when the elevator started to whirr and creak.
It took them a second or two as they finally realized they weren't moving and wondered what's wrong.
"Either we're moving really fast or not at all." Johnny commented.
They then look and see a buzzer go off saying: EXCEED MAXIMUM WEIGHT
Then looking over to Ben with a sorrow look, they knew it was his fault. It couldn't really be anything else due to the fact all they had was a few suitcases of clothes and personal things like Peter said.
"I'll take the next one." Ben joked as he walked out of the elevator and the doors closed behind him.
"I feel so bad for him." Jennifer said with a sigh.
"Yeah, I wish there was a way to help him." Peter was sorry to say.
"So, where are we going exactly?" Johnny wondered. "I mean, you were kinda silent the whole time."
"I didn't want Sue overhearing it anywhere. Dr. McGee kept a few condos upstairs for when she took work home with her." Peter told him as the elevator arrived at the top.
They then walked out of the elevator and saw there was a small hallway that led down to a gigantic opening with a few dozen computers and a bigger screen than the ones in STAR Labs. There was even an upstairs laboratory and a place for Caitlin to set up a med lab if they needed a patch up. There was even a helipad And at least a few bedrooms all around the place all empty and ready for used, just missing some sheets and even a gigantic kitchen in the corner.
"Wow." Johnny commented. "And we've been cramming in STAR Labs this whole time?"
"Well, I only claimed it this morning." Peter reminded him. "Everyone go pick a room, get settled in. We're going to be seeing a lot of each other for a while."
They then all went off and searched for their own rooms. Seeing that they'd want to stay with someone they're comfortable with, Peter decided to stay in a room conjoined with a smaller room to put Franklin in and Valeria to stay in.
"Okay, there you go." Peter said as he set up Franklin's superhero bedsheets and Valeria was currently with May and Jennifer. "Honestly, this was better than the room in my place. You've got a tv, dresser, and a room to yourself."
Franklin looked down as he looked at the floor and Peter knew what the problem was.
"We'll get her back, Franklin." Peter promised as he walked over and kneeled in front of him. "No matter how hard it is, how long it takes, I will bring her back."
"You promise?" Franklin asked him.
Peter smiled and cupped the kids face. "Hey. Remember who you're talking to? I'm Spider-Man. The same guy who kicks the busts of everyone who wants to hurt the people I love." Franklin chuckled at that as Peter acted like there was something around him. "I'll bring her back."
"Thank you." Franklin said as he went over and hugged Peter and whispered something he could barely register. "I wish you were my daddy."
Peter was shocked to hear that but didn't think of it too much (or at least he tried not to) because he knew the kid was just worried for his mom.
After Peter settled Franklin down for the night, he made his way through their new home and found Jennifer in the kitchen.
"You here to ask about what I think you're gonna ask about?" Jennifer guessed.
"Malice." Peter confirmed as Jennifer turned to face him. "Who is she?"
Jennifer pulled up a seat for her to sit down and invited Peter to take a seat. "It's a long story."
Peter decided to take her word for it and took his seat and waited for her to explain.
Jennifer sighed and knew he needed to know everything in order to find a way to help her. "It started a few months ago..."
