"When I found out about what Reed was doing, the therapist who was helping her get through it, she had Sue go through some sort of hypnosis for her treatment," Jennifer explains to Peter as he sat there and listened to everything. "Susan told him how she wasn't feeling like herself, that she actually would do what Reed said, and she would hate herself later. She felt like someone else was in control. And he made her give that other person a name."
"Malice." Peter took a wild guess, seeing there's no other name.
"Sue started to get better using this treatment, I never would have guessed she would have developed some sort of secondary personality," Jennifer informed him and Peter got up and looked out the window to see the big city that Sue was currently running around in. "So what do we do?"
"Nothing," Peter answered, knowing that they have no way of stopping Psycho Man's powers and don't know the extent of Sue's are right now. She was willing to kill them due to her anger, meaning they need a way of protecting themselves from her powers, and a way to free her from Psycho Man's control. "We can't do anything until we have a plan, so we just need to stay here and lay low."
"Five super-powered beings, an engineer and a doctor, your aunt, and four kids," Jennifer recalled everyone who are now confined into the building and sighed. "What could go wrong?"
That's when Goose reminded her of her existence and leaped on the table, looking for attention, and meowed before leaning out for Jennifer to pet.
"Yes, and a cat. Sorry, Goose." Jennifer apologized to the cat and pet behind her ear.
What none of them knew was that down below in the labs, Hank Pym was pulling an all-nighter as he was just finishing up the bugs in HERBIE. Well, that's where his focus was until he finally finished it. Now, he was working on finishing up the code and data for Ultron.
"Come on, what am I missing here?" Hank wonders, trying to find a way to have Ultron upload to everything and keep the world safe without him turning against humanity. "Why?"
But before he could finish figuring it out, a projectile came in through the window and shattered a hole before going towards Hank, and when he dodged out of the way of it, he was still shot in the hip after the projectile turned around and hit him, causing Hank to fall and drop on the ground.
Hank groaned as he held his hip, where the projectile hit and crawled over to try and reach his phone. When he reached the desk where his phone was sitting, he tried to reach up and get it, he started to feel weakened and clutched his chest having some form of heart problems.
Reaching up, it was like his arm stopped working as he couldn't reach it. Dropping down on the ground, Hank panted in fear as he didn't know what was happening to him.
But that's when he hears whirring and looked to see someone holding out his phone to him and looks to see that HERBIE was awake and officially working as he was holding the phone out.
Hank smiled and saw at least one of his creations would work as he took the phone from the robot just as Janet called. Relief flushed over Hank as he quickly answered it and tried to put the phone to his ear, but it ended with him feeling his heart stop and dropping the phone.
As he slipped down, Hank could hear his wife cry out to him on the phone. "Hank, honey? Hank? Hank, you're scaring me."
The next morning, Bette and Peter made the team some breakfast as they haven't eaten anything since the takedown of Psycho-Man the other night. Making food for Ben though seemed a bit complicated as he had bitten through the forks and chewed them. Peter made a note to see if he could find metal to make utensils out of specifically for him.
Ben was trying to take a drink, but for him, he couldn't use a cup, so he ended up needing to use a bowl and an entire bag full of oranges for juice. He crushed them all and kept their juice in the bowl as he then raised it to his mouth when Johnny came past and snatched it out of his hand just to tick him off.
"Alright, let's make this quick," Johnny said as he put the bowl down and took a plate of his own for breakfast. "I've got a lot of places to go today." He then stopped with a sarcastic gasp. "Oh, wait, I don't go anywhere."
"Johnny, we've been over this." Peter sighed as he handed some food to May so she can feed Valeria, who was in her highchair. "We can't go out there with Sue hunting us."
"Then why don't we go out there and find her?" Johnny asked him.
"We've already got Sharon to hook us into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellite and it's running facial recognition right now to find her." Caitlin gestured to the computer that shows Sue's face and is running it through every camera and even phone on the planet. "It's just a little difficult to find her due to the fact she can turn invisible and hide key features."
"We just have to be patient, because we still don't even have a way of snapping her out of Psycho Man's control." Peter reminded Johnny. "Caitlin will start working on that now, I'm gonna do some quick tests on Karolina and Katherine to make sure we get an idea of what their power sets are."
"I'll call in and say I need a few days off for a personal matter to help with Franklin and Valeria," May informed them. "FEAST can survive a few days without me."
"I can keep an eye on the facial." Bette offered.
"And I guess I'll keep an eye out for any attacks by a ghost or Invisible Man." Cisco offered to join Bette on the computer set.
"The rest of you guys just need to get used to living together." Peter then got a call from the security downstairs and quickly answered it. "Yes?" He then heard what happened and almost dropped his phone when he heard the news. "What?"
Worried about her husband, Janet quickly made her way to Mercury Labs to see what he was doing. He informed her he would get a little caught up with his work on the HERBIE bot and maybe get into the Ultron Program, but she got worried for him after a while and decided to check on him.
But when she arrived at the labs, she was met with Hank's body lying lifeless on the floor of his labs. "Hank!" She quickly ran over and checked for a pulse and found nothing. "Hank, no!"
When she found him, there was no hope of helping him when the police arrived and were trying to learn what he was killed by.
"So, he has one puncture wound at the hip, but the entry point is the confusing point of it," Barry informed Joe and Yuri as he gestured to the broken window. "It seems as he was at his desk when the shot was fired, facing the computer." He then walked over and gestured to the trail that the bullet would've gone. "Meaning it would have hit him point-blank in the chest."
"But he got hit in the hip." Yuri was understanding where he was going.
"Maybe he tried to dodge." Joe guessed.
"Yeah, that's what I thought at first." Barry agreed and showed them the footage from the camera. "But then I saw this."
They watched and saw something come flying into the window and dating a turn to hit Hank in the side.
"A bullet with a mind of its own?" Yuri asked, scared at the idea.
Peter made his way down and immediately saw Janet was sitting down and being comforted and questioned by several officers. That's when he looked and saw Hank's body being taken away on a cart.
"Hank?" Peter asked in shock. "Oh my god..."
"Mr. Parker?" Joe West got Peter's attention. "Detective West. Can we ask you some questions?"
"What...what happened?" Peter asked, hoping this wasn't anything to do with Sue or Reed.
"We're trying to figure that out," Joe said and pulled Peter aside to ask his questions.
Cisco and Bette were watching the computer systems and saw there was no sign of Susan or the Invisible Girl anywhere. No attacks of a ghost anywhere either, getting them very confused on where Sue is and what she's even doing.
"So...what are we up to, Sue?" Cisco started to talk to himself as he looked everywhere for what she could be up to.
"She's mad at us for whatever reason. So, she's most likely gonna target us." Bette replied.
Cisco nodded in confirmation when he suddenly thought of something. "Wait. That's it." He then started to repurpose the satellite and key aspects.
"What are you doing?" Bette asked.
"We've been looking for Susan, but we should be looking for Malice." Cisco finally put it together. "If she's going after us, then who better than those who have grudges against us?"
"And the people we care about." Bette could follow along. "Anything?"
"Here," Cisco said and showed the results. "We might have something." The scans then showed where Malice's Psycho-Man energy signature has been spotted over the city. "We just need to narrow it down to any recent locations."
As they were getting into that, Caitlin and May were just getting finished with the tests on Katie and Karolina for Peter as he was saying goodbye to his friend. They were letting the kids go and just play around and watch the tv with Ben and Johnny as the computers ran their tests. The two then wondered if there was any way to break Sue free from the Psycho-Man.
"Have you ever heard of color psychology?" Caitlin asked May as they walked through their new home.
"The theory that changes in the color spectrum could affect people's mood?" May asked her.
"It is so nice to have another doctor to talk to," Caitlin admitted. "I was thinking. If Psycho-Man can somehow alter people's mood with a device, maybe we can use light and color to reverse it."
"That's great, but in order to test that you'd need a way of transferring a verity of colors into Sue's mind at once." May reminded her. "The woman who can turn invisible and create forcefield. That's going to be close to impossible."
"Not for her," Caitlin said as she looked over to Karolina Dean. "Her powers might be the best chance we have of delivering it to Sue."
"But we still need to find her." May reminded her and looked to Cisco and Bette. "Anything on Sue?"
"Nope. Not even an invisible man." Cisco said just as Peter came back with a furious look. "Whoa. What happened?"
"Hank was killed," Peter informed them all, shocking those who knew him.
"Wait, what?" May asked.
"Killed by some smart bullet," Peter said as he showed up the footage of Hank's death. "And I'm not letting whoever did this get away with it. Until we get word on Sue, I want us out looking for whatever that bullet is. Where it came from, who shot it, where it was shot from. I want this murderer brought to justice."
At the hideout, the Mistress of Hate was waiting just as someone grows from their shrunken state and reveals to be someone wearing an alternate version of the Ant-Man and Wasp's suits.
The mechanisms in some of the metallic parts of this suit may be used for resilience or strength enhancement. It was designed with mechanical appendages on its back with the pair above the other being able to fire beams of energy and to fly as well wearing an all-black and yellow version with giant shoulder pads.
"I did it." She confirmed to Malice and removed her mask. "Hank Pym is finally dead. Thanks for the tip. What do you have to gain from this?"
Malice smiles as she knew Hank Pym was a friend of Peter's. She couldn't find out where they moved to, but she knew she could still hurt those that they love.
"Pain. Misery." Malice answered.
After Janet was released from police questioning, she made her way home where she made her way to the basement. She used the thumb scanner to get inside and walked down to the vault where she placed in the digest and revealed the Ant-Man and Wasp suits on display.
"I'm coming for you, Rita," Janet promises with a snarl, already knowing who was behind all of this.
Her old enemy.
Yellowjacket.
"Yellowjacket. An enemy of Ant-Man and the Wasp for years." The Watcher explained as he looked into their history. "The two of them foiled the plans of many people for years. Making many enemies over the years. Malice saw this as an opportunity to try and tear this family apart, and to try and rid herself of Susan Storm. It's up to the family if Sue is worth saving, or if she becomes a problem that needs to be eliminated..."
