"A family reunited under the circumstances of war on the horizon." The Watcher sighed as he looked to events that have already occurred, with the destruction of Star Labs. Then he eyed the events that happened during the same time. "And a possible love starting to blossom."

Susan had just placed Franklin and Valeria to bed, happy to have them back and not angry for no reason other than the monster telling her to be mad.

Walking into the kitchen, she found Peter cleaning up the dinner dishes by himself and saw this was probably the only alone time they'd get for the day.

"Thank you," Susan said to Peter for the hundredth time today.

"I've told you, I promised to keep them safe." Peter reminded her, not seeing it as a big deal to be babysitting the two kids for the past two days. "I just kept my promise."

"Either way." Susan shrugged and leaned on the counter before pecking his cheek. "You're an amazing hero and friend."

Peter smiled at her and kept his mind on the dishes. "Have a good night, Sue."

"Thanks," Sue said and started to walk off when a thought came to mind. Looking back to Peter, she wondered how he would feel about this. "Have you thought of...us staying here?"

Peter stopped after he finished the last dish and started to dry his hands after he turned to face Sue. "You mean like permanently?"

"I mean, Reed already knows where we're staying at your place, and this way everyone is under the same roof and safe." Susan shrugged, feeling like it's a good option. "And if we needed to, we still have Star-"

Before she even finished that statement, there was a giant explosion that consumed the night sky, causing them to look out the windows on the balcony and saw Star Labs go up in a giant explosion.

"Oh my god," Peter said in fear and shock.

Star labs was gone.

Harrison and Tess were unfortunate victims of the explosion.

At least, that's what the news was led to believe. The entire team knew who was really to blame for all of this.

Reed Richards.

They all stood in the rain as they were standing over their graves. They said their farewells to the two of them and knew they needed to take who was responsible for this down.

"I'm gonna find him," Peter promised as he kneeled to the gravestones as everyone already left. "I'll avenge you. You didn't deserve this."

"You're right." Someone said, causing Peter to spin around and see Reed Richards standing there, wearing a suit as if he was here to send his condolences. "They didn't."

"You son of a bitch!" Peter cried as he ran over and tried to punch him, but Reed caught his fist. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"To offer a truce," Reed stated, putting his hands up and taking a few steps back so Peter couldn't hit him.

"What the hell do you have to offer?" Peter asked him.

"This to end," Reed informed him, causing Peter to look confused. All of this, and he's willing to stop? "I've made arrangements with the king of Attilan." Peter was surprised to hear this, but remained still and allowed him to explain himself. "He wants the people who killed his brother. Honestly, the guy is a terrible liar. At any means. Even if he has to plow through this planet to get them."

"And what the hell do you want?" Peter asked, dealing with monsters like him long enough to know he wants something in return. "You can't tell me you're doing all of this to please the king of some alien race."

"No, you're right," Reed assured him. "I want my family back."

Peter saw that this was still what it had always been about: Sue and the kids. "You're gonna stay away from them."

"Well, then the fate of this city's been set." Reed shrugged, making Peter question what he means. "I have an army. Ready to avenge their king. What do you have? Five? Seven Superheroes? You really think you can protect everyone in this city?"

Peter looked over the city and knew that there is no way he could protect everyone from Reed if he was even telling the truth. He could be bluffing. Trying to buy time to make Peter question his decisions.

"Think about it, Peter," Reed tells him. "I get my family back. Your city is safe. And you can even keep your friends and teach them to be heroes. If not..." he then looked over to the gravestones, "there's always more than these two I can take."

"I won't let you kill anyone else," Peter promises as he tightened his grip on the man's shirt.

"All I want is my family back. That's all we all want, right?" Reed asked him.

"She left you once, how do you think she'll react?" Peter questions him.

"I've learned how to be very...persuasive," Reed told Peter, making him feel there's more to it than that.

Then he walked away, leaving Peter to question what he was going to do. There's no way he is going to be able to protect them all from Reed and his army.

The team later returned to the tower and were still mourning their friends. They died in this war. Died to try and bring an end to Reed.

As they mourned, Caitlin noticed there was a message from Tess that was sent before the explosion consumed the labs. Wondering what her final words are, she opened the attachments and was shocked at what she discovered.

They were going over the results from the mutants and metahumans they were dealing with and noticed there was something different between the ones Reed was sending out and the ones they came across.

"Oh my god," Caitlin said as she noticed what was wrong with them.

While she was discovering this, Peter informed the rest of the team of what Reed said.

"He's willing to destroy this city to get to us?" Sue was both shocked and unsurprised to hear this from Peter.

"Yeah," Peter confirmed.

"Man, this guy is as mad as a hatter," Cisco commented.

"After all of this, I question he'd give it up just for Susan," Bette commented.

"He just wants his family back," Peter repeated what Reed told him.

"Probably to kill her for leaving him," Jennifer commented, her anger easily heard in her voice.

"And who knows what he wants to do with Franklin and Valerie," May added. "Toss them in an orphanage."

"Or something worse," Caitlin called out as she came in.

"What do you mean?" Peter asks.

Caitlin then pulled up the scans that she discovered. "This is the brain scans that Tess sent me before..." she didn't think it was best to finish the statement and moved on. "They were the brain scans of the metahumans we've been dealing with. Remember what I said about Psycho-Man and his ability to control executive function?"

"Recap it for me," Johnny asks of her.

"It stops you from doing every stupid thing that pops in your head." Ben recapped it. "Something you don't have."

"Ah." Johnny understood that.

"Well, look at Multiplex's emotion centers," Caitlin said and showed that his brain didn't have anything going on. "And now, here's Flash Thompson's." That's when they noticed that his executive function was glowing and green. "I don't think Flash attacked us of his own free will."

"He was being mind-controlled." Peter was shocked to hear this. "Reed said he would make Sue comply, want to stay with him."

"By mind controlling me." Sue said in fear and shock.

"How do we break it?" Bette asked. "If they're listening to Reed's demands, there has to be a way to break them free."

"It's possible, but I would need to do tests on their brains." Caitlin was sorry to say.

"I'll call Fury." Peter offered as he saw they had a partial plan. "Have him send Thompson back. But Reed's gonna do all he can to make this a living hell. Watch for anything happening."

"Roger." Cisco playfully saluted.

Pieces of that laboratory were floated through the river where they exploded and caused the attention of someone who was around the area.

Someone who has been waiting years, but it seems that this was the last straw and was finally ready to reveal himself to the human world.

Flash Thompson was marched through the labs surrounded by four S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents that are being led by Sharon, who handed the keypad to undo the cuffs that he was wearing to Peter. He was wearing scientifically advanced cuffs that they created to dampen powered individuals for transport.

"Fury said you have a week to get results," Sharon informed Peter on the terms of the agreement. "If you can't get any further proof, we take him back."

"Thanks, that'll be more than enough," Peter promises.

"It better be," Sharon stated, she also getting sick of all of this that's going down. "And just a warning, you guys didn't cure him of the Symbiote. It's still under his control. If needed to, hit that green button to shock him."

"Got it." Peter promises.

Caitlin led the soldiers to the room with the brain scans so that they can get their readings off of Thompson. On her way through the labs, she got a message off on her phone and she saw it was Barry.

Barry:

Hey, got any lunch plans?

Caitlin smiled and sighed at the idea as she wished she could make it, but knew she needed to focus on this problem currently in hand.

"Who's that?" Cisco asked as he was looking over her shoulder.

Caitlin immediately acted and flinched by spinning and facing her friend. "Barry."

"Barry Allen from the bar?" Cisco clarified.

"Yeah," Caitlin confirmed. "He wants to meet for lunch."

"Wait, really?" Peter asked. "You should go."

"What? No, I can't leave now." Caitlin denied the statement.

"Come on, we can work together without you for an hour or two." Peter scoffed and playfully pushed her. "Go enjoy yourself, we'll run the tests and wait for you to come back to see the results."

Caitlin looked between her two friends and saw they were encouraging her to move on with her life and decided to go with it. "Okay, fine."

The two cheered and basically pushed her out the door in order to get her to her lunch date.

As he walked back over to be a part of the tests, Peter saw Sue was shaking and knew she was still thinking of Reed. "You okay?"

"No." Sue sighed and held herself as Peter came closer. "I...I'm scared for my kids. I don't care what Reed does to me, but I don't want him touching them."

"We won't let him touch them," Peter promises as he goes to hug her, but Sue pushed away from it.

"I know that, Peter. But... But I know a lot of other things now. Things I think I've been trying to put aside, to postpone... Something a lot like growing up, perhaps." Sue guessed there was no better way to explain it. "The Psycho-Man did more than twist my emotions. He forced me to look into the deepest corners of my soul, forced me to confront who I am, what have I become. When we were hit by that light from the accelerator, when we gained our powers, we lost something. An innocence. A child-like naivety. For a long time, I've tried to go on as if we're still the same people we used to be as if I was still the same. But I'm not. Not after all that's happened to us. Not after what Reed did to me. Not after what the Psycho-Man did to me. There is no Invisible-Girl anymore, Peter. She died when the Psycho-Man twisted her soul."

Peter nodded and knew that Sue wouldn't be the same after the Malice situation and everything that she had done with her. "Then who are you?"

Sue sighed and looked down at her hands and knew who she was. "From now on...I am the Invisible Woman!"
