AN: New first chapter meaning usual disclaimer. This is from the Mystery Dungeon Writing Prompt Wednesdays, and as such, I will start every chapter with naming the prompt that created it, and due to the nature of WPW, the story is uploaded in the order of which they were written and will therefore jump around the timeline. So with no further delay...

Prompt: A pokemon and trainer pair are brought to the PMD world together as the Partner and Hero.

Battle Frontier - Hoenn, atop the Battle Tower.

Occasion: Elite Showdown. Hoenn VS Sinnoh.

Event: King of the Hill

Current Status: Hoenn: 12 remaining, Sinnoh: 13 Remaining

Current King: Flora (F, Hoenn), Pokemon: Leavanny, Win Streak: 9

The next Sinnoh challenger stepped forward and called forth his weavile, which rushed forward with a Slash attack, but was easily blocked in response by leavanny's Leaf Blade.

The pokemon was tired, but she still fought the best she could. She and her trainer had almost tied. Just this one more victory and they would both be satisfied.

"A great move by Flora's leavanny, which ensured that the pokemon escaped the serious swipe unscathed." The announcer played up the fight as usual. Brought the audience in the right mood. "And now they return with an X-Scissor. With the Fell Stinger boosts from the previous bouts, this may spell an early end if it connects."

The weavile smirked as it dodged at the last second on its trainer's command and returned with a Quick Attack, following it up with a Slash.

The leavanny barely managed to dodge the vicious attack and created some distance. But exhaustion took over and the pokemon fell on one knee.

"And it seems this will be over, folks. Leavanny is too tired to fight. Is this the end of Flora's incredible streak?"

The weavile was about to go in for the finishing blow when the sound of shattered glass interrupted it, as a ball of light flew through the glass ceiling heading straight for Flora, who backstepped it. As the orb hit the floor, it made a strange sound and disappeared with that part of the floor.

Steven Stone and Cynthia, the team coordinators for the two sides had entered the arena, looking for the source of the interference. They looked at where the orb had come in, and just outside, a few dozen more of the orbs manifested out of nowhere and headed straight towards Flora. The two champions called upon their pokemon and attacked the orbs with ranged moves. As the attacks connected with the orbs, they exploded, sending out a blinding light. In the blinding light, one orb managed to get through, with the leavanny noticing, using the last of its energy to leap to its trainer, giving them a tight hug as the orb hit its back. The orb engulfed the duo, and they disappeared from sight.

"You are needed, so stay strong…"

"Oooh... Come on, wake up. Please." Anny was lying on grass, she could feel that much. She was still exhausted, though she felt more refreshed than before that whole 'orb thing' happened.

"Please, don't leave me. I don't want to be alone. Wake up." She could hear a familiar voice, and she knew all too well that concerned tone. "Please, wake up, Anny. WAKE UP!"

She flinched by the yell, and she was sure she could hear a sigh of relief as she did. Anny started to stir, using her scythed arm to lift herself up and roll over on her back. As she landed she took a deep breath, sat up and opened her eyes.

In front of her was a greenish oddish, tears rolling down its little body with a happy smile on its face. Anny smiled at the little thing and took a look around.

They were close to a crystal clear lake in what seemed to be the middle of a forest, though there was no sign of her trainer. It was a bit strange, as she swore she had heard Flora calling out to her.

Meanwhile the oddish awkwardly waddled up to her and leaned up against her, trying to do the best hug an oddish was able to.

Anny giggled and carefully patted the radish pokemon on the back. "Excuse me, little one, but have you seen a human girl? She is a deal taller than me, brown hair in a ponytail, a flower similar to those bellossom have on the left side and wears a green and red Kantonese kimono?" As she finished her sentence, Anny wished she could facepalm. There was no way a wild pokemon would know what a kimono was, or what Kantonese means.

"Anny, it's me." she heard the oddish say in an extremely quiet voice, and Anny asked it to repeat.

The little pokemon composed itself and repeated its previous statement in a clear tone. "It's me, Anny. I'm Flora." The Oddish smiled, and Anny realized. The voice was that of Flora's and Anny could recognize that signature smile of hers anywhere.

? Forest, ? - In the middle of it?

Occasion: White orb teleportation.

Current Status: Flora is an Oddish, both are confused.

Current Objective: Flora learning self-defense.

"There you go, you almost got it. Remember how we trained."

The little oddish focused, imagined the effect in her head and then tensed as a little shield summoned around her.

"You did it!"

The both of them cheered as Flora managed to successfully use Protect on herself. With that, both of them could relax. Now that Flora had the ability to block damage, traversing the unknown forest would be a lot safer. But first, they needed to relax.

"Soooo... You are an Oddish now?" asked Anny.

"Five." replied Flora, annoyed at the repeat question.

"I know, I know. I just... I just need to come to terms with this." Anny said with a stutter.

"Then think about me. Suddenly, I am an oddish, I lost my arms, and despite being green, I am not actually under those in the category of 'Shiny'." Flora sat down and let out a frustrated sigh.

Anny sat down next to her. "Oh, it isn't so bad. You will get your arms when you evolve, if we ever get that far without you turning back." She chuckled to herself. "Also, didn't you do one of your fangirl rants about a non-shiny green oddish at one point?"

Flora smiled as she thought back on the moment. "I did. The rare Kusa strain, or Green Kantonese Oddish. Few in numbers and haven't been seen in the wild for years."

"I think we just found one." Anny was giggling to herself. "You really seem tied to this Kanto region."

"The only ties I have to that region is my love and respect for Erika and her fashion sense. You can't really understand, but that kimono is comfy." responded Flora, seeming almost offended. "Though, with me being a rare oddish only seen in Kanto, I guess we can add that to the list." She sighed in defeat before jumping back on her feet. "So, should we see where we are?"

Anny got up on her feet. "Sounds good, but while we explore, I would think it better to help you learn Giga Drain."

"Didn't we give up on learning it to you because it just didn't seem strong enough?" countered Flora.

"True, but we still managed some results, not to mention the success with Bella, so I thought it could be used to maybe teach you Absorb." Anny had a stupid grin on her face. She felt like she was the trainer now, and had gained a little understanding of why Flora enjoyed it.

The two came across an abandoned temple-like ruin, but neither could identify anything that could pinpoint their location. They decided to stay there for the rest of the day, and hopefully have Flora learn another move or two.

The darkness encroached and the duo took shelter in a tiny room at the foot of the temple. With Absorb learned and an idea of how to learn Energy Ball, the two went to sleep.

As the darkness came, the sounds outside disappeared. The only thing that could be heard was their growling stomachs, as the berries they found didn't amount to much. But the growling was soon replaced by the relaxed breathing of the two.

? Forest, Nexus - Honing in on target.

Occasion: White orb teleportation.

Current Status: Hungry, but fine for now.

Current Objective: On the move.

Extra note: Location needs to be pin-pointed fast.

"So, being a Green Kantonese Oddish reminded me of something. You remember that Red Johtonian Vulpix from that one trainer?" Flora was hungry, but in high spirits. Their luck would turn, she could feel it.

"Yes, I remember. What about that?" Anny wasn't in as good a mood, but seeing Flora being happy, made her happy.

"So, I just want to confirm it. Did Hibisco have a thing for it?" Hibisco was a meganium and a lovable goof which everyone seemed to like. He was also kind, and while not the strongest, was an incredible tank to support Flora's more fragile teammates. Him and Bella, the bellossom, also seemed to have some chemistry together.

Flora wondered what they were doing. What everyone back home was doing. She and Anny just disappeared. Hopefully they could find a way home.

"Flora?" Flora was pulled back to the now. "If you ask a question, please don't zone out when one answers."

"Sorry. I just..." Flora looked down.

"I know, but we will figure this out." replied Anny reassuringly.

"So, Hibisco and the vulpix. Go!" Flora had bounced back, though in the back of her head, she still pondered.

"So, short answer. Hibisco was head-over-heels for her, though one can hardly blame him. That was a fine red coat she had." Anny looked to the skies in between the trees. "Couldn't stop talking about her for days. But now... Now all he talks about is Bella."

Flora giggled. "They are quite cute together. Flora approved, if you will." The two continued to talk about the different pokemon on Flora's team. Anny was just happy that she could finally have a proper conversation with her trainer, and Flora was happy to know that she had almost nailed her pokemon personality, likes and dislikes. Made her more confident in her skills to become a Grass-type master. Her becoming an oddish had also boosted that mindset.

The forest opened up, and in the middle of a clearing was a large apple tree. The duo ran to the tree, grabbed some apples and feasted on their bounty.

"So, Flora? How do you see us pokemon?" asked Anny in between bites.

"That was sudden." said Flora. "Just you guys, or all pokemon?"

"Mostly the former, but I am also intrigued by the latter." replied Anny.

"Well, as a whole, you are pokemon, I guess. You are creatures who can do all these crazy things and have not decided to overthrow all of mankind. As for you and the rest of the team. You are my friends, and I am so happy to be with you. The places we have seen, the things we have done. You have made my life so much better. A question back. How do you see me? A friend, or maybe a commanding slave master? I've always been kind of curious. And please, don't try and sugarcoat it. Just tell the whole truth."

"To us, at worst, you are a means to an end."

Flora looked saddened when she heard it.

"BUT!" Anny was not to let Flora have doubts about herself. "With that I mean, they want to get as strong as they can be. You help them get stronger, so you are fine. But while they act tough, I can tell that they appreciate you for more than just that. I know that everyone would shield you from that orb, like I did." Anny glanced down at Flora who smiled once more. "You are our trainer, our leader and our dear friend. You care so much for us, so how can we not do anything else, but care just as much for you."

The Beast's Forest, Nexus - Bountiful Tree.

Occasion: Being dropped in the middle of forest hell.

Current Status: In imminent danger.

Current Objective: On the move.

Extra Note: Rescue Team dispatched. They need to be found fast.

After eating and a bit extra training to get the hang of Energy Ball, the duo headed out once more. With bellies filled and an appreciative understanding of one another, the duo went deeper into the forest. A faint roar could be heard from the distance, as hussle and tussle could be heard not too much deeper in. They passed more ruins, just as unknown as the first but they carried on. Only when the sun had set that they found a place to stay.

Just as the night before, the forest went to a complete quiet. Not a single creature could be heard scurrying across the forest floor. Aside from at one point where the ground made a slight rumble and the faint roar could be heard once again.

The sun was rising, and the duo had headed out as soon as they woke up. Walking through the trees, they always seemed to hear something, but never managed to catch a glimpse of it. It had been two days, and they had yet to find someone else. The only sign of life had been the ruins, the rustle in the bushes, and the roar of the creature which seemed to approach ever so slowly. Though, if it stood to Anny and Flora, they didn't want to find out what made that noise.

The duo was in the middle of discussing the pros and cons of pokeballs when they found some hope. A machoke was punching a tree, seemingly for training.

"Okay, remember. Just stay behind me in case he does something unexpected." Flora just nodded in response as the duo approached.

"Excuse me, Mr Machoke." Anny called out.

The machoke stopped its training and glanced at the duo, then waved at them, having a wide smile. He beckoned them closer.

"What you want?" the pokemon asked.

"Sorry to interrupt you, but you wouldn't be able to tell us how to leave this forest, now could you?" asked Anny, still prepared to strike if something went wrong.

"You want out? Me know way. Will gladly help." He squatted down to get a better look at Flora. "You really cute." He stood back up straight. "Out, this way."

"Do all machoke talk like that?" asked Flora in a whisper.

"That is more of a wild pokemon trait. Talking is not used that much out in the wild." replied Anny.

They walked for an hour as they neared a clearing. "Out just across." said Machoke as he gestured.

"Thank you, Mr Machoke. We owe you one." The two grass types bowed before moving towards the opening. As they passed the machoke though, he quickly picked them up, and tossed them into the middle of the clearing, as an army of wild pokemon came swarming from the trees, murder painted in their eyes.

The Beast's Forest, Nexus - Monster House.

Occasion: Walked into a monster house.

Current Status: In danger.

Current Objective: Survive.

Extra Note: Monster House Danger - D tier, incoming danger - ? tier. Rescue Team ETA: Soon.

It didn't take long before the first barrage of attacks were coming.

Psybeams by a group of Inkay to the left, and Bullet Seed hell by seedot and treecko from the left.

Anny dodged the moves with grace as Flora soaked the full brunt of the attacks with Protect.

Next came in a melee wave consisting of groups of mankey, machop, machoke and nidoran.

Flora managed to keep some at bay with her Energy Ball, but their sheer numbers overwhelmed her and they managed to get some good hits in.

Anny swept off her attackers with a powerful Leaf Blade, before quickly turning and swatted the attacking pokemon off her trainer.

As the pokemon retreated, Flora managed to connect with Absorb, hitting a machop, regaining a bit of energy.

A new wave of ranged moves was hurtling towards the duo but the result was no different than the first, though the attackers pressed on with a third barrage, escorting some nidoran and a few rattata which came in for the second melee strike. Flora managed to hold everything off with her Protect, and retaliated with Energy Ball, sending one rattata flying, and used Absorb on another to regain more energy. Energy she needed as she tanked two Horn Attacks, sending her flying into the back leg of Anny.

Anny also had trouble. The third barrage was dodged, but it left her wide open for a nidoran to connect with a solid Poison Sting. She tossed the nidoran away, but a second one blindsided her and hit another Poison Sting, the poison taking effect. In a last ditch attempt, she used X-Scissor to keep the attackers at bay, but she went down due to the poison. A mankey took the chance and lept towards Anny as Flora went in front of her using Protect in hopes of intercepting the attack. But the hit never connected.

Anny opened her eyes to see the mankey sent flying, its fur on fire. Next up were the nidoran and rattata who were also sent away by the fire. She turned her head to see a quilava shooting another Flamethrower, making a path towards them. Anny got back up on her feet as hail started to fall.

"Hey, you two, catch." yelled the quilava as it threw something in their direction. "Hold on to them tightly." The objects landed in front of the grass duo. They were some kind of seeds.

"What can we use those for?" Flora yelled back as she scared away the last rattata with Energy Ball.

"Just hang on to them, and apologies for this next part." he said as ran up and leaned up against a tree. Just as he did a Blizzard came flying from the forest, claiming all it hit. Most of the wild pokemon managed to run away, but some got caught and buried in the snow. So did Anny and Flora, but just as they passed out they could feel an energy emanating from the seeds, and their strength returned.

Out from the forest walked a glaceon, visibly exhausted. "Sorry about that, but you know blizzards. They are not picky with their targets." The quilava joined her as the hail disappeared. "Name is Vei, and this is my partner, Sear, of Team Quick Guard. You?" said the Glaceon.

"I am Anny, and this is Flora. Thanks for the save." said the bug type.

"No need. It is our job as a Rescue Team to help those in need." replied Sear. "Speaking of, you were difficult to find."

"You knew we were here? How?" asked Flora.

"That can be explained later, now..." the quilava took a thorough look at the both of them before settling on Flora. "You are a human, no?"

Flora and Anny just stared at the fire type, not knowing what to say.

"It's fine. I used to be human, too. Though I do have a case of voluntary near-total amnesia. Key word being 'Near'." said the glaceon with a hearty laugh.

"Uhm... Okay?" replied Flora. "What do you want with us?"

"We need you to get out before-" The earth shook and from the scenery behind the grass types, trees and the remains of some of the fleeing wild pokemon were hurling through the air. "Before he arrives." finished Vei.

"What was that?" asked Anny, terrified.

"That was the Beast, and unless any of you can casually chuck about twenty trees at once, we need to get out of here." Sear pulled out a blue orb. "Hold this unless you want to die in about..." The area from which the trees came from had started to glow. "About five seconds."

The two of them didn't hesitate to touch the orb, and Vei did as well and just as they disappeared, a beam destroyed the entire clearing.

Hub Town, Nexus - Arrival Plaza

New Objective: Introduce Trainer and find their purpose.

New Objective: Assess Leavanny's Abilities.

Resuming Objective: Scouting Vision Orb Patrol for more newcomers to designation Nexus.

"This was a long one." Oh, you poor naive fool, past me. You will make more that will be LONGER!

So, here are Flora and Anny, and they don't really matter much. Those that DO matter are Sear and Vei. We will see a lot more of them.

And welcome, dear readers, to my Nexus storyline. Originally meant to be my WPW crossover setting that isn't canon to other storylines, it became its own storyline with three of my other plotlines being canon to this. Wait, scratch that, there are more…

Actually, it's easier to list the stories not canon to Nexus: Drifting Memories, End of an Era and Personal Paradise.

But yeah, this setting was supposed to have my characters crossover with one another without affecting their own storylines, or do crossovers with other things like Digimon, the DC and Marvel universes or The SCP Foundation verse. Still hoping for a prompt in which I can write that last one.

Anyway, suffice to say, not much of that second form of crossover has been written, and it annoys me.
