Prompt: The Hero had family and friends before being called to the Pokemon World.

Blair sighed contently as she finished another chapter, and closed the book about the kids in magic school. She gazed out the window to the sunny afternoon, as the warm rays warmed her body. It had been three months and she was feeling happy.

Didn't last long though as a wave of guilt washed over her as she buried her face in the pillow and screamed in frustration. She had hoped that the pillow would have drowned the sound, but a knock on the door made it obvious that it failed.

"Blair, is everything alright?" came from the other side, as the door opened and a woman walked in. "A nightmare?" the woman asked.

"No ma'am." Blair replied, looking away from the lady. She couldn't face her at this moment. "It's nothing." she then mumbled.

"Nothing doesn't make you scream." the lady said as she sat down next to her. "Tell me what is wrong." she said in a comforting tone.

"I..." she struggled to find the words. "I shouldn't be here. I should be in my own world, helping my partner save time. Instead, I am here, while Palkia or whoever threw your son to the lycanroc." Blair stared at the wall. "Or wolves as you call them." The following silence lingered in the air for a bit. "Worst of all, I am happy here. This isn't fair..." Blair felt a hand land on her back.

"Don't be like that. This isn't your fault." Blair could hear the woman holding back her tears, and yet, she still talked with a happy tone.

"And this is the worst of this!" Blair then blurted out, finally turning to face the mother, her tears running down her cheeks. "I replaced your son, while he is in a potentially dangerous situation and you just treat me nicely! WHY?!" Blair was angry at this whole situation. Then the mother started crying, but still tried to smile.

"Because you didn't have a choice, and we can't change that." the woman said. She then got up and took the Snivy plush sitting on a shelf and brought it over to the bed. "Besides, he has loved pokemon since he was a child. I am sure he is having fun right now."

Blair didn't feel reassured about that. "But don't you miss him. Aren't you scared he can get hurt?"

"Of course I do." the mother replied in anger. Blair raised her arms to protect herself from a hit that never came. "But he is a smart kid. He knows how to stay out of trouble." Her smile returned. "And it wouldn't be fair to blame it on you."

Blair nodded. The mother then excused herself, and left the room. It was the first time that they had really talked about this issue. Blair felt better, but she had to get out and do something. She left the room and told her hosts that she went out for a jog. She stepped out the door and embraced the sun. "Grovyle, you better make sure he is safe." She looked towards the home. "For their sake."

A few years later, in a different place.

"Spread and find the anomaly. It is most likely one of those Specter things again. Remember your signals, go!" With those orders Spike shot off in one direction with Talon and Summers going in two others.

Blaze watched as the portal closed behind her, sighed then headed off into the forest. Keeping a lookout for anything suspicious she raced through the forest, went around a corner and slammed into something. Images flashed in her head. Her old room, her parents, her brother and a freckled redhead interacting with them.

"Ow..." came from whomever Blaze collided into, though the voice was really familiar. A female voice. "Been a long time since I've experienced that." she said. Blaze looked up to see the redhead from the Scream. The woman looked back at her with the same look of understanding. "So, are you who I think you are?" the redhead asked.

"Depends." Blaze replied. "So, nice to finally meet you Blair."

FFN Addition:

"All in all, sounds like you're doing great." Blair said as they approached the cottage at the forest entrance.

"I'm just happy to know that my family knows that I'm alive, to be honest." Blaze responded before getting slammed in the face by an Energy Ball. "You know what? I feel like I've been hit by that before, but this one hurts way less."

The following three only fared slightly better.

"Blair, get away from that deceiving bastard!" Grovyle rushed in, Leaf Blade already aiming for Blaze, who quickly got out of the way.

"Oh, for crying out loud." Blair complained as she punched Grovyle hard in his side, causing him to stagger. "I told you already, she is on our side."

"She… She could be without lying…" Grovyle huffed as he regained his composure.

"If I had known a way to save the world without lying," Blaze shook herself to brush the worst of Grovyle's attack off of her. "Then I would have done so. But, for all that it's worth, and since I have the chance. I truly am sorry I lied to you like I did." She bowed her head in apology.

"I don't know…" Grovyle had one arm in front of him, ready if the vulpix in front of him was to try anything.

"I had to know how everything was to play out." Blaze raised her head and looked directly into Grovyle's eyes. "Lying was the only way to make sure that everything would go as I knew."

"That's a mighty fine excuse for-" Before Grovyle could finish his complaint, Blair had grabbed him by the arm, tossed him over her shoulder, slammed him straight into the ground, then grabbed the grass-type's head and slammed it a few times more, just for good measure.

"When I say she is fine, then she is fine. Got it, partner?"

"Is he okay?" Blaze ran up, looking concerned.

"Oh, don't worry about him." Blair stood up and brushed herself off. "Sometimes you have to slam some sense into the dunces."

"Still, looks like that would hurt." Blaze was still worried about the grass type, despite him attacking her earlier.

"Bah, that is nothing." Blair waved her arm. "I was told that you were a tough cookie yourself. How much would it have hurt you if I did that to you?"

Blaze had to think about it for a moment. "Actually, that's a fair point." She stepped back to give Grovyle some room as the pokemon started to get up. "Oh, and speaking of dunces, how is Dusknoir doing?"

"Having trouble gaining the trust of other pokemon, for obvious reasons." Blair replied as she helped Grovyle on his feet.

"Guess him and I have something in common to bond over." Blaze said, giving an aside glance towards Grovyle. "Unlike the Time Gear thief."

"Trying to antagonise me?"

"Did you really not hear my sincere apology earlier?" Blaze shook her head. "Guess I have to find Summers so HE can convince you."

A loud snapping-like sound echoed through the area, followed by the sound of multiple trees hitting the ground, followed by more snapping and crashing. Blair pulled out her bow and readied an arrow, aiming straight in the direction of the sounds, Grovyle and Blaze charging attacks of their own.

When the silhouette of the rampaging beast approached, Blair let loose her arrow, but it just bounced off the charging creature.

"No surprise there." she muttered as Blaze and Grovyle unleashed their Flamethrower and Energy Ball respectively.

The creature dodged the Energy Ball, and rushed through the flames, even if it slowed down a bit. It jumped towards them, stomping the ground as it landed, sending jagged rock up beneath each of the trio.

When they got their bearing, they could see the monster in front of them. Green rock-looking hide, four massive arms, eyes on it's torso, along with an X-shape harness, dragon-like head, and a long tail with a blue flame burning brightly at the end.

"What in the darkest abyss is that thing?" Grovyle stepped back as the monster roared.

"I think we called this one for Charanigross." Blaze said as she dodged a wide swipe. "An amalgam of charizard, tyranitar and metagross. At least it's not a specter." she mumbled the last part to herself.

"Something about that didn't sound right." Blair said as she pulled out a group of Blast Seeds and started hurling them at the charanigross.

"Oh, it is a sin towards nature, no doubt about it." Blaze replied.

Despite it's horrific visage and display of power, the beast was quickly sent on the run, and the trio could relax.

"That was surprisingly easy." Blair said once the monster could no longer be heard.

"He's a point three of a dialga, I'd say." Blaze replied, shaking off the dirt from herself.

"That is a weird scale." Grovyle replied as he approached her. "Still got the whack-a-diglett strategy going I see."

"Not really." Blaze replied, circling a paw on the ground. "But when you're facing a fire-steel-rock type, Dig becomes the obvious solution."

"I suppose." Grovyle gave her that signature smile of his. "Now, on to another question, how are you here?"

"That is a longer story." Blaze replied.

"We can help tell you." The trio looked towards the source of the voice to see Talon and Summers approaching. "We both heard the thing and came to see if everything was fine." Summers said.

"But it looks like we missed the fun." the blaziken followed.

"Guess we're not facing specters today, huh?" Summers said as he nodded towards Grovyle and Blair. "Long time no see, Grovyle, and… you are?"

"Blair."

"Oh, that actually makes sense."

"Now I have multiple questions. Why did that make sense, why are you here as well, and what is a specter?" Grovyle had completely lost his cool. "And I don't care which you answer first, I just need them."

"Well, specters are flying laundry with sharp claws, that rank point six-five of a dialga." Blaze said, with Summers nodding in agreement.

"And why do you rank things on the scale of the time god?!"

AN: Poor Grovyle never stood a chance.

Also, FFN exclusive content, because the whole Blair/Blaze/Grovyle thing isn't exactly on prompt, now is it? And I really have been wanting to get more out of this meeting, but there haven't really been a prompt fitting enough for it. So, this is canon, and if a prompt appears where I can use this, I will.
