The familiar uncomfortable tug in the naval assured him it was working as they disappeared with a soft 'pop.

Chapter 6 - Arriving Home

They landed with a soft pop in a well decorated room. The large window that lit up the room showed expansive castle grounds. As Harry climbed off the floor he noticed a lake and a wood tinkling in the summer sun. As he turned around he took in the rest of the room. There was three fireplaces lining the edges of the room and a rug with in the Centre. Then his eyes fell on the form of Ginny lying on the floor. He held his hand out for her to take, which she did.

"No matter how often I take a Portkey I always end up on the floor" Ginny said giggling as she righted her clothing. A small shadow near the doorway alerted Harry that they weren't alone. With surpising speed he drew his wand and pointed it at the shadow only to be met by a shrill shriek!

"I am sor-sorry Master! I-I was just excited." the small figure said as it stepped out of the shadow. Harry looked at the figure confused but with a softening expression meanwhile Ginny gasped.

"Your a house elf aren't you?" Ginny asked

"Yes Mistress" the elf said, Harry looked confused

"Harry house elf's look after a wizards property." She explained "They can do the upkeep, cook or in general help you out"

"Yous be correct Mistress." The elf said grinning, now Ginny looked mildly confused

"Wes felt a mistress accepted" the elf said with a toothy smile which caused Ginny to understand what the elf meant

"This is the castle?" Harry asked looking around once more in shock

"Yes Master. Wes give yous a tour?" The elf asked him. Harry noted that unlike Dobby this elf looked good. It had a regal looking outfit on and colourful socks. It didn't look like skin and bones like Dobby had but it also looked very happy.

"I would like that" he said nodding happily

"My name is Makby. I be the Masters personal elf" the elf said stepping aside to let them pass "Wes shall goes this way" he said leaving the room.

Makby lead them through the castle showing each room and giving a brief history about the place as he went. Then Makby showed them the extensive grounds which had a wood, an orchard, a lake, a quidditch pitch, a meadow. But that wasn't all. There was also the gardens (formal and informal) as well as a vegetable patch and several exotic greenhouses growing things like mango and coconut. There was also a large collection of animals that Makby informed them were resuced by Charlus and Fleamont. The animals would arrive in poor health and be nurses back to health in the grounds. Since then the colonies has gotten along well and have since reproduced expanding the colonies.

The castle itself didn't hold a beacon to the grounds. Each room was elegantly decorated with tasteful pierces that have been collected through the castles years. There were a number of sitting rooms and offices. As well as the Banquet hall and ballroom which they were informed were used at large functions. There were two kitchens (one for the elf's and one for personal use like baking he was informed many of his grandmas likes baking). There was a games room too. The Master bedroom was jaw dropping. Not only was it massive but extremely well done with its own bathroom. Lots of the other bedrooms also had smaller en-suites. A large set of doors opened into a library Hermione would never leave. But some of their favourite rooms were underground or in the topmost towers! A training room was found in underground with a duelling room next door. In fact the entirety of the first lower level was dedicated to education with a small grouping of classrooms fitted for a special subject. There was a potions lab even Snape would drool for. What was a nice touch was in each room there was a portrait of one of his ancestors based on if they were good at the subject or frequented the place like the library and games room.

Ginny's most favourite place was up in the topmost tower. In there was a collection of regal owls with a collar showing the potter house crest. Since she loved animals and told him she'd helped nurse a baby owl back to full health. She was awed with the views all around as well.

The last place the visited was the Portrait room. This was a room almost as big as the Ballroom or banquet halls which contained every portrait of each Potter to live. Harry's eyes misted as he took in the sight of his grandparents and many times grandparents. For some support ginny gave a gentle squeeze to his hand the action was met with a weak smile

"With the odd exception, Potters have a redhead curse" she said smiling trying to suppress a giggle that threatened to escape her lips

"Why we have no such thing!" Said the voice of Hardwin Potter incredulously.

"Ha! Take that Hardwin!" The voice of William said while all the woman rolled their eyes before directing the newcomers.

"Who are you?"
