Soon they drifted off on each other's arms with small smiles on their faces
Chapter 8 - Letter Delivery
It was just after dinner in a quiet Burrow that an owl could be heard in the night rapidly approaching. With a final screech it flew in the open window and sat on Arthur's shoulder ruffling it's wings. Arthur reached out and stroked his head as the owl nuzzled its head into its wing. Then the owl stuck out a leg. A leg with a letter attached. None of this was new to him but this particular moment striked him as odd. You see the owl had a much more regal appearance for an owl than the owls at Hogwarts who usually looked more scruffy and ruffled, so did the letter he noticed after examining it for a moment. So it was with interest that he opened it and begun reading.
Dear Mum and Dad,
This summer I shall not be returning home. Probably not at all. Don't worry though I'm not alone and I'm in zero danger.
While I could lie and say I needed to escape Hogwarts to overcome what happened with the diary and the Chamber. Especially what Tom did to me during my possession. That is not true and we all know Mums ability to sniff a lie. Even if it's only a half lie. I mean has she got some kind of superhuman power we don't know!
Certain events have arisen and I needed to get away. Me and Harry have to take private training lessons to control our magics since we have the same issues.
Do you remember saying when I was less than a month old I levitated Snowy? Apparently that's the first sign that my magic is powerful doing accidental magic at that age. If I went to Hogwarts alone it wouldn't be enough. To truly control the level of magic that thrums through my blood. This is a nessccary path I must take to be of any benefit to the wizarding community and not a danger. Your remember when I get angry I have a habit of setting things of fire. It's because my magic needs a release before I can calm down because it runs through me in a much larger quantity than the norm.
Do not look for me! I will contact you soon. Hope to see you at Christmas.
Bye
Lady Ginvera Potter
P.s The owls name is Oswald and he likes Scrambled eggs.
An involuntary smile graced his face at his daughters words while worry licked his insides. He did remember her levitating Snowy which was what led to them partly blocking her magic more than the boys to prevent injuries. He didn't think it was a sign of strong magic though. Likewise the setting things on fire when she was angry but Molly said that was a common Prewitt trait and since Fabian had said similar he didn't double think her words. He had to admit Lady Ginvera Potter worried him a little since she was only 11 but at least he hoped she was happy. The part about Molly being able to tell a lie made him laugh which earned a strange look from Molly who was knitting in the chair next to him. Wordlessly he handed the letter over to her before becoming lost in thought.
A loud shriek not a moment later broke him from his thoughts to see Molly shaking with barely contained anger and horror.
"Mollywobbles" he said quietly, placing a hand on her leg.
"No. No. No. No!" She muttered angrily
"Molly" Arthur said sternly taking the letter from his hand. "Ginny's fine she said so didn't she."
"I guess" Molly said defeated
"She is you can tell in her words" Arthur said. Molly sighed. Arthur had always been closer to Ginny than her no matter how much she hated it.
"She can't be married" Molly said "She's 11!"
"Molly marriages can happen earlier if there's extenuating circumstances Arthur reminded her but his words fell on deaf ears.
Molly got up and frantically hunted down some parchment before scribbling a hasty letter. She was going to wait till morning though to send it since it was late and respected proper hours for communication.
Meanwhile at Hogwarts
Albus is Dumbledore was not having a good day. He'd had meetings a plenty with the school board and Wizamont about the chamber. Eventually it was said that Ginny may stay in school especially with the evidence that the diary had strong compulsion charms that not even he could of ignored. When he'd tried to find Mcgongall to tell Ginny he could not find her. It seemed she left the castle on an errand. Then when he tried to find Ginny herself he couldn't. The wards registered a Portkey leave yesterday and another today. That worried him too but he had more. Now he sat behind his desk with a pounding headache. That was when another owl soared through the open window and landed on his desk. The owl gave him a stern look as it held out his leg. Slowly Albus removed the letter from the owls leg and opened its seal to read
Dear Professor Dumbledore,
After recent events Ginny and I have decided to take a break from the castle to recoup and recover. We shall return in the new year. Don't worry our studies shall not falter. But then old man we should talk. Yes we should talk indeed.
Harry Potter
Albus sighed deeply as he placed the letter on the desk with a shaky hand. The end of the letter greatly disturbed him as Harry was sounding a lot like William and Charlus Potter two of the most feared wizards and notorious grey fighters. He understood the first half and that he and Ginny needed to come to terms with what happened in the chamber on their own. No one could help them like they could help each other.
With a weary sigh he stood up and retired to his chambers for the night. Finally feeling every ounce of his 147 years of age.
