She had been called.

Michael himself had summoned her back to the Vatican, the Arch Angel himself, leader of the Seraph, had called her by name and summoned her to have a meeting with him. She was Xenovia, a pro at the job of killing stray demons and rogue vampires alike, being great at combat and one of trhe few natural holy sword wielders at the church.

Her breath hitched in her throat.

"Lord Michael."

"Please, Xenovia... just Michael is fine... this meeting is... I will be asking quite a lot of you, and I fear that I have horrible news for you." Michael looked at her with a serene smile. She was a cornerstone of the plotting that he was doing "Or great news if you wish to look at it as such." Michael didn't know how she would take the news.

Xenovia didn't know what to say.

She saluted him.

"I will take any mission, any job, any duty that is given to me with seriousness and loyalty. There is no task too much for you to ask of me." Xenovia boldly declared her intentions to follow through with anything asked. Even if it had a 100% chance of her dying horribly, a bloody and painful death where she would be ripped to pieces, assaulted, or tortured over a long period of time. She would face it with a smile if it were in the line of duty.

Though she would prefer to live.

Much prefer it.

"... You are a fine warrior for God... but have you ever given thought to your duties as a woman?" Michael wanted to ease into the heavy topic.

Xenovia paused.

"... I am a warrior first, and a woman second. While I am the mission, I might as well not be a woman at all... it is only when I am off duty that I consider this body of mine female." Xenovia spoke proudly. She got part of her bangs dyed green, simply because she wanted to feel more like a woman when she wasn't on duty. She had the same urge to feel womanly, but never when she was suppose to be taking her duties seriously. "Do you wish for me to seduce an enemy... to do as they say... a honey trap... if so... I might need some time to research the ways to do such a thing. I have no experience with matters of romance or seduction... but in 2 weeks I will be ready." Xenovia promised.

Michael was jolted by her willingness to forsake every part of her womanhood for the mission.

She really was perfect for this.

"What do you think of... going on this mission with a devil?" Michael asked her, leaning forward to judge her response.

She was stone faced.

"If it is my mission, then I will fight side by side with even my enemy. Heathens they might be, but they can still be useful for the job." Xenovia answered without so much as the smallest of pauses.

"This will be a life long mission."

"I see... so I will be dying on this mission, even if it takes awhile... it is a my deepest honor to be able to follow the mission until death." Xenovia took to her knees and clapped her hands in prayer.

Michael smiled awkwardly.

"... Well... I guess you will die while fulfilling this mission... eventually. No, this mission has no demand for combat. What do you think of the Truce between Angels and Devils at this moment... and please, give me your honest feelings."

"I think it is hanging by a thread, that any incident can cause a war. The casualties of such a war would be immense, and while it would end with the Devils being wiped out... the loss of angels and human life would be too immense to be worth it." Xenovia didn't see them winning the war in any way that they could call it a win. They had the advantage of type and how devils were weak to their tools and elements, but they had the disadvantage in numbers. They had plenty of Sacred Gear users of their own who possessed great power, and with God on their side they couldn't possibly lose.

But the win would come with a loss of life on a level they might never recover from, and even if they beat the devils, the fallen angels would then wipe them out.

There was no true victory, because even if they also beat the fallen angels, they would be too weak to fend off any attacks from the other pantheons. There was no surviving the end results of the war itself.

"So, if the truce breaks... we lose."

"We win... but as long as our faith and spirit remains unbroken, we can never truly be defeated... but we still lose. Is there somebody threatening peace?" Xenovia wanted to know who she needed to kill to protect the world.

Michael smiled at her.

So she could see the big picture.

"No, there is no enemy threatening to break the truce... but it is time for a true treaty. I want to end this truce, and spawn friendship and love... which is why I have arranged for you to be married." Michael dropped the bomb on her softly. He looked at her expression, trying to gauge what her reaction to the news was.

She looked quite honestly stunned, at a loss for any words.

"Sir... what?" Xenovia could only mutter that in shock.

Words failed her.

"A union, marriage... the joining of our two sides by those who represent the best in us. You are one our most devote, and your fiance is one who values match well with ours. You are to be married to a young man that we angels give our full support to." Michael explained.

Whoever you pick to arrange a marriage with has to be hard to kill, because there will be people on both sides who will be against this marriage. You angels need to show your full support for the marriage, and so do the Satans.

Those words rang true in his head when he spoke to Xenovia. She was strong enough that most devils wouldn't be able to easily kill her, and he could support her marriage with a gift that would make any devil think twice about opposing. He was positive that the new Satans would give their support when the situation was explained to them as well.

Xenovia actually frowned.

"How does this work?"

"Your marriage would be looked down on, hated, and most likely assassins would be sent to kill you... your marriage though will allow us to show that our sides can get along. We can gain support throug this shocking method... it needs to be a reincarnated devil, because they are least likely to oppose the idea... and you are the best choice... for one, you are a woman of great beauty... devils would be more likely to accept you." Michael had picked her for many reasons, some of which he didn't want to hurt her feelings by saying. "... but you would have a very great impact... as the Wielder of Durandal and the Excalibur Fragments... nobody would expect us to be willing to weaken ourselves by giving you up... by weakening ourselves... we can show we have no intention to start a war in the future."

Xenovia still didn't quite know how to react.

Now the woman question made sense.

"... Me... getting married?" Xenovia responded as she looked down at her body, and took in her breasts, her hips, her legs. She was in casual clothes at the moment, but the fact was that this was her first time truly taking into account.

"Yes."

"I'm getting married?"

"You are."

"I'll be a wife... I still accept." Xenovia steeled her resolve, knowing that this was for the best was enough for her to readily accept the mission. She might not understand, but she didn't need to understand it in order to follow orders. "Who is my husband to be?" Xenovia had that question.

"A dhampire reincarnated into a devil, by the name of Naruto Uzumaki. He has already saved Japan from a terrorist plot to unleash Devil-Nue, and saved the world the threat of a Stray Devil who gained power beyond the Satans."

"I see... so he is heroic then... that is a relief, at least I know he is worthy of the trust you seem to have in him... when do I leave?" Xenovia didn't have much to pack, so it would take her a day at most to say her goodbyes to everyone, pack her things, and leave for wherever this guy was.

-In Japan-

"I don't even know why... but somehow... I think I screwed myself over."

"What did you do?" Rias asked Naruto, staring at him when he just stated that with a confused look.

"I don't know... I just have this weird feeling that I did something that is going to bite me in the dick soon... I don't know, or understand, why I feel this way... maybe I should cancel the date with Akeno... just to be safe." Naruto hated to do it, but somehow he felt that if he went on the date with Akeno, it was going to end with some big fight.

"Ah... you figured out she planned to take you to a mixed bathing hot springs."

"Oh, now I NEED to cancel... that will not go well at all." Naruto didn't need to know what his feeling was to know that he needed to cancel THAT date idea.

What was that girl even thinking?
