Addison is the only one around when Wynter has a panic attack.
Everything was falling apart. Everything she thought she knew was unraveling at the seams. Everyone was counting on her now. Why did Willa have to entrust her as third in command? Why did Willa and Wyatt have to go missing? Everyone was counting on her now. Everyone was looking to her for guidance. The pressure was suffocating. She had to keep the pack under control. Couldn't let the panic take hold of everyone else like it was her. She couldn't handle this on her own. She needed her alpha and beta back. She needed them to tell her what was best for everyone. For her.
"Wynter?"
She jumped from the unexpected voice but didn't even need to look up to know who's voice it was. But she couldn't bring herself to care either. The whole pack was depending on her. Her, who could barely manage to keep a level head under pressure. This kind of pressure.
"Wynter! Are you ok?! You're hyperventilating!" It was Addison rushing over and wrapping herself around her shoulders. She realized with Addison's added weight that she was indeed hyperventilating. Her breaths coming out short and forced. Lungs constricted like someone wanted to rip them out of her chest.
"Wynter, listen to me, take a few deep breaths, ok? Do it with me. Breathe in," Addison instructed, the werewolf did her best, both girls taking in as much air as they could, "and let it out." She pushed the air out before Addison ordered she do it again. It felt nice to take orders. Not to be the leader for a moment.
After practicing the technique a couple more times, she was breathing normally again. The tears staining her cheeks stood as the only proof left that she'd had the panic attack. She looked up sadly at the honorary pack member, forcing a smile to show her gratitude for support. "Thanks Addison." But the white haired girl frowned with worry.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"No!" She barked back too quickly. Instantly recoiling with a wince. "Sorry. Bad wolf, bad wolf!" She scolded herself, fists smacking against her temples. Addison placed a hand over hers and slowly lowered it from her head, a sad but gentle smile on her lips.
"I know it's not easy right now. Trust me I've not been dealing well with their disappearance either. But I'm here if you need someone to lean on, ok?"
