The Welsh doll stood among her friends, singing on the moon. She had an excellent vantage point to watch the guests entering the attraction from the Welcome Room.

Not all of the guests would notice her and her friends. Many were looking elsewhere, at the beefeaters, the Queen's Guards below them, or Nessie and the Dutch clog dancers on the other side of the Europe room.

Thirty years she had been doing this. Holding a carol book aloft and singing the same song, hearing the same song in many different languages. And… it just never stopped.

"It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all"

Over and over again, just to hardly ever be noticed.

And because she was up on the moon, she couldn't even get down. She was stuck, physically and metaphorically. And she wanted more from her life.

A/N:

I chose to focus on a Welsh doll partly because I am Welsh and partly because the poor Welsh dolls really are so high up you wouldn't notice them unless you were looking out for them. I've seen them in Disney World and in Disneyland Paris. In Disney World, they are above the Tower Bridge and the Queen's Guards. In Paris, they're tucked away by the "Big Ben" tower.
