Wake 11: The Things Money Can't Buy
"We can see the Capital from here…" Owen said.
The following day after Raiga and Fuuko caught up with Owen, they made their way straight for the Capital.
Needless to say, the Fandiri and his maid still have mixed feelings about being in a place as corrupt as the center of the Empire.
It won't be long until the two finish their job of protecting Owen and the cargo that he was assigned to deliver to the Capital itself.
No way their headquarters are within the Capital walls, so they would have to be stationed somewhere outside of them…Raiga thought as he looks at the large wall of the Capital.
He hasn't forgotten the letter that Sayo had given him to deliver to Tatsumi. The desperate expression and her soft tone that on the verge of crying if he doesn't help is enough to convince least try to deliver it. It happened that he ends up having a protection job that leads him straight to the Capital itself.
As much as he wants to leave this place, where death lingers too much for him and Fuuko to even stand, Raiga felt it was better to deliver the letter once he finds out where Tatsumi was. The life of an assassin is rather short and he might not have another chance to fulfill Sayo's request. After that, he is going to leave this place and continue looking at other areas for signs of Fangire than here.
"Owen, how long are you going to be in the Capital?" Raiga asked curious.
"I'll probably stay a night before heading back to my village," Owen informed. "Do you two have plans?"
Fuuko glances at Raiga, knowing he wanted to deliver Sayo's letter.
"Something like that," Raiga said. "Will that be alright with you?"
"Only thing I will say is to be careful around this place," Owen advised as they were getting close to the capital wall, checking their surroundings to make sure they won't be ambushed by bandits.

(Instrumental)
In the shadow, there were three figures that were standing in what looks like a dark room. Though it's unknown who the other two are before focused on one who revealed to be none other than Raiga. His face was soon covered by the helmet of Kiva. The scene showed the Capital and then straight to the palace.
Oh oh oh oh oh ohh!
Oh oh oh oh oh ohh!
Raiga was standing looking over the heart of the capital and the people as the sun rising high over it.
Hikari mitsuketa kuuhaku no jikan!
Raiga was seen walking through the streets with a serious expression on his face. Flying above him was none other than Kivat the Third.
Mayoikonda chuuzuri no sekai!
The scene showed Fuuko is walking with chains on her wrists through a prison hallway and have despair look upon her face. The scene changed back to Raiga who continued his way through the street despite the cruel life shown on the street.
Shinjirareru kotae sagashimotomete. Tada samayotteru!
Soon the screen showed back to Fuuko who reached to end of the cell and couldn't struggle with her chains.
Yeah!
Yubi no sukima nigeru light! Yosomi shiteru hima mo nai!
The screen soon changed to Tatsumi with the Night Raid organization with their Teigu.
Uketa kizuna ato sae kate ni! Seijaku kirisaiteku!
The screen shift from Tatsumi and Night Raid to that of the Jeager members.
Dare mo kare mo Dead or alive!
The screen soon shifts to the throne room of the palace with Makoto and Honest while Budo and many imperial soldiers standing in the way.
Mamoru dake ja Can't survive!
Soon there is a sinister grin that can be seen on the Prime Minister's face.
I don't wanna lie to myself!
Raiga soon finds himself dropped into the darkness as the memories of his home was burned reoccurring in his mind.
Keep on the fight, get right! I'll never lose and cry!
He didn't notice that he was in front of Fuuko's cell as the young girl noticed someone in front of her cell.
Keep run up day and night! Time to rewrite!
Soon the sky turned crimson as a mysterious white hooded figure standing over an army of monsters before a screen shown a massive figure sitting on a throne.
No matter what anyone say!
I find my way! Yeah, never go away!
Soon the screen between Raiga and Fuuko shattered to revealed Kiva and IXA standing back to back with each other. Soon Kivat the Third appeared on the screen and sang.
(Never go away!)
Now, nobody can't stop me no way! Wasurete shimau koto no nai you ni!
The Revolutionary Army and the Imperial soldiers are fighting each other with the leading groups for each other; Night Raid and Jeager.
Nakushita mono subete torimodosu tame!
The screen shown inside Castle Doran was a throne with Kiva on it. Sitting nearby are the Arm Monsters in their human forms, Sayo, and Fuuko.
Rise suddenly in this world!
A child Raiga was on his knees in a ruin of the village and Bloody Rose was right beside him.
(I don't look back yeah)!
Kiva and his companions were back to back when they face against the white hooded man and army of a monster before the man raising his head to send chilling winds. Kiva's companions were knocked back while Kiva holding his ground.
Kurikaesu tabi no hate! Nouri ni nokotta shippai nante!
Kiva soon places a red fuestle into Kivat's mouth and jumps into the air before coming down at him with a Darkness Moon Break. The white hooded figure revealed golden claws charged at him as the two collided as the screen turn white.
Zenbu torikaese ima Turn over! Rise suddenly in this world! (I don't look back yeah)
The scene changed to a meadow as Raiga continued his walk with Kivat riding on his shoulder and turned back to see Sayo and Fuuko as the two girls ran up to him. This made Raiga smile before they continued with their travel.
Oh oh oh oh oh ohh!
Oh oh oh oh oh ohh!
The streets of the Capital hadn't changed much as Raiga and Fuuko still remembered the sights of this place. No matter how "clean" this place might look, many who have been here will recognize the corruption that lingers.
Seeing how there are slightly more guards than before made Fuuko wary, as she never thought about coming back to this place again.
Before, Fuuko saw the interior of the Capital, she thought back to how things were for her. It was full of painful memories of losing people, hunting for food, and worse torments. Soon her fate turned around when meeting a young man, who stumbled onto her suffering form and saved her. Raiga restored her health, gave her clothes, and a job where she could live comfortable for the first time.
It wasn't that long since they left the Capital after that battle against the Sabbat that drew everyone's attention in the Capital. If it wasn't for the fact that Castle Doran can turn itself invisible, Fuuko wouldn't feel so frightened of the Empire's might chasing after them for the power that they wielded.
They stopped at one of the stores.
"Could you two watch the cargo for a few minutes?" Owen requested. "When I come back, I'll need some help unloading."
They nodded before Owen headed out of the wagon and proceeded making his way into the building through the front door.
"Raiga-sama…what is your plan for finding Night Raid?" asked Fuuko.
Raiga pushes his glasses up to his face. "It's simple. First, they don't live within the walls of the Capital, otherwise they would've been caught ages ago." He explained in a professional tone.
Fuuko nodded.
"Secondly, I assume they don't live too far as they only do jobs within the Capital during the night." Raiga continued. "But what makes them worse is that they need to keep their identities hidden, and wear bright colors when they go out." He pointed at one direction outside of the wagon.
Fuuko turned and saw a certain pink-haired girl in a pink outfit. Her eyes widened as she remembered where she had seen her before. "That girl…wasn't she the one who attempted to shoot you in the back?" She recalled when watching from the magic mirror within Castle Doran.
Raiga grimace nodded.
"Normally, I would follow her to find out where their hideout was— but they know what I look like." He pointed out.
Even though he could beat them if they found out about him, Ragia wants to deliver the letter to Tatsumi without being noticed. Being over-destructive is not the kind of approach he is willing to risk.
"Kivat, can you follow her and find out where their hideout is located?" Raiga asked.
His partner managed to get up from his bag with a yawn.
"Sure…I will make sure that she or anyone else doesn't see me." Kivat said, wanting to stretch his wings now. "Don't do anything reckless while I'm away."
They nodded as Kivat flew out of the wagon and starts trailing the girl in pink. It wasn't long until Owen came back out of the building.
In the room of Night Raid headquarters, there is a meeting between two members that are currently present in the meeting room at this very moment.
"I see. So you weren't able to find anything odd about this mischief group?" Najenda asked
"No one seems to know who they are or where their hideout could be located," Mine reported.
Najenda stares at Mine who gave the report involving a new exclusive group that popped up in the Empire that has been causing problems for the Imperial Army of the Empire, and making the soldiers vanish more in the process. Not to mention they lend supplies to those who were less fortunate in the Capital as this group caught the attention of Night Raid as they tried finding out more about them.
"For a group, they never really show their faces or methods…" Najenda said calmly. What's more suspicious about this is that no one can get things for free and that those supplies had to have come from somewhere.
The same goes for a certain armored warrior who has eluded them and might be a possible threat to their revolution. It's becoming irrational that none of her members can find any traces of him and his monster castle. The worse possibility for them was that the Empire might get ahead of them, and possess his powers to abuse and decimate more lands.
"Is there anything else you found out?" Najenda asked.
"No." The pinkette responded.
"Then we will have to wait for Leone to get back with whatever she could find…"
Unknown to both members of Night Raid, Kivat was outside of their headquarter as he observed the place from the outside.
It wasn't hard for someone like him to avoid the wire traps that were attached around this place. No doubt they are used to alert Night Raid of intruders.
"It is quite large…" Kivat looks around the outside of the base from a nearby tree. "Hmm…now where is his room?"
The cartoonish themed bat crawled between each window and sniffing the air. After making some passes and dodging possible chances of exposing himself, Kivat eventually found the room he was looking for.
"Now, I have to mark the spot outside of here." Kivat said, making a small mark that Raiga could distinguish which room is Tatsumi's.
With that done, he leaps into the air and flew through the sky.
Raiga and Fuuko are currently in a café while waiting for Kivat to come back from his scouting trip.
The young man noticed the young girl in front of her looking distant and not touching her food.
"Are you alright, Fuuko?" asked Raiga. "You barely touched your food?"
"I don't feel like eating in a place…like this, Raiga-sama." replied Fuuko, looking uncomfortable at her surroundings.
"I know being here will bring up bad memories, Fuuko. But, you aren't the only one who's dealing with it." he told her.
"Please let me go!"
The two turned around to see two soldiers manhandling a woman by pulling her hair too tight.
"This is what you get for being an enemy of the Emperor!" the guard snapped.
"No, I'M NOT!" The woman cried, "I wanted to feed my children… I didn't have any money, please… it was only bit of food…" she whimpered.
"You stole from the Emperor!"
Fuuko noticed that Raiga clenched his fists at the accusation.
"Raiga-sama…" Fuuko whispered.
"I'm fine," Raiga replied quietly as he tried to keep his composure and stayed in his place. He knows all too well that if he got involved, it will draw attention.
"PLEASE! THIS IS… FOR MY CHILDREN!" The woman pleaded harder as Raiga's fists twisted harder than Fuuko could imagine.
"Hey, I don't mind if you two let her go." A new voice spoke, as this caught everyone's, including Ragia, attention to a new figure.
Not standing too far from the two imperial soldiers and the woman, is a young pale blonde haired man carrying a large briefcase. He dressed in what looks like a white fancy suit and sunglasses.
"And who in the world are you!?" One of the imperial guards demanded.
"Just a wandering businessman passing through," The pale blonde-haired man replied. "Here, this is for letting her go." He gives out a large bag of gold coins to the imperial soldier.
The two imperial soldiers gasped in shock.
"Look at all that—" The imperial soldier soon regains his composure and shoved it back to the pale blonde haired man. "Don't even try it! You can take your dirty gold and—"
"Then how about this much for you to stop?" The man asked before opening his case to reveal more gold coins that had the two imperial soldiers gasp in awe.
"That's a lot…" one of the imperial soldiers said in disbelief. "Do you know how much we can spend with these?"
"Ahem!" The main imperial soldier soon lets out a cough as he released the young woman. "T-This time…I will overlook the situation. We have something important to do, right?"
"Y-Yeah!" The other imperial soldier said as both of them left the area immediately.
That's certainly odd… Raiga stares at the man who just gave the two imperial soldiers who were easily bribed with gold.
Even Fuuko shared a similar expression as they watched the woman thanking the man and then leave. It wasn't long until the man turned toward their general direction as he made his way to the wooden stairs.
"Excuse me, but may I talk with Fuuko for a moment?" the man asked, making the two look slightly surprised.
"W-Who…are you?" asked Fuuko, confused and wary.
"I'm sure that you never forgot about me, right?" the young man asked, removing his glasses to show his brown eyes that stared intensely at the young girl.
"Jada…" For the first time, Raiga never heard Fuuko being so shocked before her expression turned into pure rage. "You bastard!" she growls in a very cold tone.
Raiga watches as the young maid punches the man across the face, sending him rolling across the floor while everyone watched quietly with disbelief. He shouldn't be surprised by this due to how quiet and determined a girl like Fuuko is in the face of someone she obviously held a grudge against.
"Listen, I know what I did—"
"Get lost." Fuuko said with a serious expression.
"You don't-" But, Raiga got in the way as he gave the other man a narrowed expression.
"I don't know who you are, but I can tell that she doesn't want anything to do with the likes of you," Raiga said, standing in his way.
"Who are you to her?" The man questioned sharply.
"She is my closest friend." Raiga answered.
"How much do I have to pay you to get out of the way?"
"Sorry, but I don't take bribes like those idiots," Raiga replied stoically. "With all that money, you would only draw unwanted attention to yourself here. I suggest you leave before they…" The more questionable characters were beginning to bring unwanted attention their way. "…resort a hands-on way for you to lose that money of yours."
Fuuko didn't say anything as she stayed behind Raiga and glared at the person in front of them.
"This isn't over…" the man said, getting up from the ground and soon made a run from the area. "I will get my friends and we will come for you next!"
After making sure that man was no longer in sight, Raiga let out a sigh before looking back at Fuuko who remains stoic.
"Let's leave before we draw more attention," the Fandiri said. Fuuko didn't respond but she followed him from behind.
The duo strolled through the streets before finding their way to a park where not a lot of people seem to be around. Ragia looks around before turning his attention to Fuuko, who remained impassive.
"That man…who was he?" asked Raiga.
"He is someone not worth your time, Raiga-sama." Fuuko said with a stern tone.
"Yet, you punched him." Raiga pointed out.
He never pried too much about Fuuko's past besides the death of her parents and the trauma she had endure. Raiga only knew her willingness to follow him, after he restored her back to health, and going as far as to taking up the IXA mantle.
"This is the first time I've ever seen you loath someone. Do you want to talk about it?" asked Raiga. He knows that Fuuko has every right to refuse if she wants to.
Fuuko was silent at first before she started to open up, "You've seen how life is difficult for children without parents before you came here, right?" She shrugged a little. "It was the same for kids who are left orphaned here. Some kids tried to take matters into their own hands when the adults weren't able to provide for them. I was one of the children who tried to help the others by stealing food. We always got away from the imperial guards and come back…" she trailed, with a downtrodden expression.
"I take it not everything turned out well?" Raiga questioned, having an idea what happened next.
"The imperial soldiers came without any warning for us. Everyone panicked before we were caught one by one…" Fuuko continued with a cold tone. "The reason for is…was because we were betrayed by him."
Ah, so that's how she knows that guy.
"He was standing there with the imperial soldiers and no one seemed to harm him at all—"
Raiga soon comes close and holds her in a hug.
Though he did feel some struggle at first before he felt her giving in and letting out what she felt all those times.
"Enough. You don't need to think about that anymore. As long as you're by my side, I will protect you and whoever I find. Even though we aren't on either side, we will make sure to get out alive together." he promised.
"Raiga-sama…" Raiga can feel her head snuggling against his chest for a couple of minutes before he is ready to release her from his grip.
"Do you still seek revenge?" the young man asked.
"Even if I did, nothing would change. I rather stick with you than be here alone again." Fuuko said. "Besides, isn't that what friends do for each other?"
This made Raiga look surprised before letting out a smile.
They soon heard the flapping sound of wings as they looked up to see Kivat descending his way toward them.
"I found where their hideout is located and left before they noticed anything." Kivat informed, sitting on Raiga's right arm.
"Thank you, Kivat," Raiga replied. "We better meet up with Owen and make sure nothing happens. Then, I can deliver the letter so we can leave this hellhole."
They nodded before Kivat went back to Raiga's bag as Raiga and Fuuko made their way out of the area without any issue.
(Night)
Riding through the darkness of the forest was none other than Raiga on Barikion with Kivat acting as a guide.
"This is as far as we go. There are more trick wires that will no doubt alert them, Aibou." Kivat informed. Bypassing the wired traps wouldn't be a problem for them.
"So this is their hideout?" asked Raiga as they looked at the base that was blending in with the large hill on the surface.
With Kivat's help, Raiga will find Tatsumi's room and deliver Sayo's letter. Though he won't know if he will end up encountering Tatsumi or not. He should least place the letter somewhere safe that the Night Raid members won't notice.
"Yep." Raiga soon got off Barikion and gently stroke the warhorse.
"Sorry, but I prefer a less destructive approach. Go hide somewhere until I need your assistance." Raiga said.
The war horse scoffed as Raiga and Kivat watched the horse venture into the dark without any traces of him being spotted.
With his war fans in his hands, Raiga and Kivat soared through across the air as they moved carefully above the silver wires that are well placed.
Looks like there are no other traps placed here… Raiga thought before seeing Kivat flew around one of the barely closed windows.
Raiga impales his war fans onto the wall beneath the window as Kiva sneaked through the small gap of the window. The cartoon bat used his wings to push the window as Raiga climbs into the room.
"Thanks, Kivat," Raiga said before looking around the room that was supposed to be Tatsumi's room.
Raiga is a bit impressed with the room that Night Raid provided for Tatsumi, as it is very clean and tidy. It wasn't something he would expect for the most wanted assassin group in the Empire. Even if there was a chance he might've been in the wrong room, he can smell a bit of Tatsumi's scent to indicate that he has been here since being kidnaped.
The only thing left for him to do here…Is where to put Sayo's letter?
Kivat made his way to the door that was slightly open as he kept an eye out for any members of Night Raid.
Raiga moves carefully as he scanned the room until he found a perfect spot that no one would except to look if someone came into Tatsumi's room. Though the chance of Tatsumi finding the letter is going to be relatively low—
"Glass-like corpses… don't tell me that a Fangire is responsible for that?!" The voice of Tatsumi came out of the doorway.
Raiga and Kivat are surprised to hear voices, they must belong to the Night Raid due to whoever owns this building.
But what caught their attention was the mention of "Fangire" by Tatsumi. Another thing about hearing Tatsumi's voice means that Night Raid members are closer than expected. Raiga and Kivat moved carefully toward the door to listen in on the conversation.
"That is correct." Another voice which sounds like a woman said. "It's a possibility among their numbers, they have Fangire devour those who would likely get in their way while handling riches to those who are less fortunate."
Raiga's eyes widen as he remembered what happened earlier.
(Flashback)
"This isn't over…" The man said, getting up from the ground and soon made a run from the area. "I will get my friends and we will come for you next!"
(Present)
He also remembered what Owen said to him and Fuuko about a strange group that has been secretly raiding wealthy families in the Capital and giving back the wealth. But if there is a chance that Fangire are involved with them, then—
"If the Fangire appears… then that bastard will most likely appear, as well." The female voice of blonde hair woman made Raiga's eyebrows narrow. "This is a great day…"
"Leone, don't do anything reckless that will endanger you and others." The same woman voice scolded.
"Don't worry, I won't screw up again like last time, Boss." Leone's voice said.
"Anyway, I need you all to be ready in an hour for the mission." The voice of the one called Boss responded, as Kivat and Raiga stared at each other before nodding at each other.
They made their way out of the window as Raiga closed the window with his feet before the duo went off toward the night sky.
"Aibou, do you think what they said is true?" Kivat asked slightly curious. Even though it is surprising that another Fangire showed up to the corrupted Capital.
"I can't be sure. But at least we should keep an eye on them until we can be certain if their claim is true." Raiga replied with a serious expression.
"You are doing this because you're worried about Tatsumi, aren't you?" Kivat asked.
"I'm more concerned with the chances of Sayo's letter being forgotten. And if it does, that'll mean coming back here was pointless if I don't fulfill her request." Raiga replied. What Tatsumi does from there…well, it is entirely up to him at that point.
After he confirms whether or not there is a Fangire responsible for the crusaders against rich families, he will again leave this hellhole known as the Capital.
Sounds of broken glass came from inside a mansion as men in dark clothing were stealing what they deemed valuable.
"There are many valuables here." the first male voice remarked.
"Come on, we better finish getting what we need." the second voice said with slight irritation.
"Don't be such a wimp, Jada." Another man said. "The guards have already been gutted by the boss. Once we're done here, he can help out."
It wasn't long until they spotted dead bodies that were already pale and transparent.
The men were about to load the goods into the wagon that they placed in the back of the mansion, until they noticed their driver wasn't moving from where he was.
"Hey? What's the matter?" One of the men went up and shook the man who ended up dropping to the ground immediately.
"What the hell!?" They gasped before they heard a choking sound and turns to see one of their own getting their neck cut off by invisible strings.
Landing on the ground near the bushes were Leone, Tatsumi, and Lubbock.
"So you lot are the infamous bandits that have been going around looting riches with help from a monster." Leone said.
"AAAHH! It's Night Raid! RUN!" One of the men shouted in fear before they split in separate directions in hopes of confusing the few Night Raid members present.
"Come back here!" Tatsumi growls as he chased after one of them from behind while his fellow assassins are dealing with others who fled from them.
It wasn't long until the Night Raid assassin chased the man into the corner of the wall and the man looking very nervous.
"No way for you to run!" Tatsumi said, holding his sword readily.
"W-Wait…! Why are you doing this!?" the angry man demanded. "We're the same as you guys, helping those who couldn't help themselves when the Capital took advantage of them!"
"Even if what you say is true, don't you realize that you could be under someone's control!?" Tatsumi retorted. A part of him does agree, but Tatsumi still finds it unsettling that the man would be okay with a monster being part of this group doing the bigger work of things.
"You've done your job well, Jada." A mysterious male voice said as pair of energy fangs inserted into the man's neck and drained the life out of him.
"W-Why…?" The victim couldn't help but look in disbelief at the one who spoke to him, as he was being consumed and became nothing more than an empty husk that remained.
Tatsumi couldn't be any more mortified than he already was, especially after seeing a man dressed in a business suit with stained glass-like marks across his face upon the consumption.
"He was content with so much hope in making something of this Empire that died away. Just like those cows who are eager for the sight of hope." the man in the business suit replied. "How delicious…"
"You…! Why did you do it!?" Tatsumi demanded.
"For my benefits. But, I am curious about how you taste, human…" he replied, starting to come toward him.
Tatsumi knew what this meant and tried to kill the man in his human form before the man himself turned into his Fangire form already. Tatsumi's eyes widen in horror at the large, black bulkier appearance of the Fangire who brought up his large hand to stopped his sword. He has horns on his nose and two on his shoulders. The horns, a portion of his chest, and knee had yellow, red, and white stained-glass patterns on them. With a grunt, the Rhino Fangire punched Tatsumi in the gut.
This caused the young man to gasp for air before being sent back away from the Fangire who throws his sword aside. He hits hard against the wall and struggled to get himself back up from the ground.
The Rhino Fangire soon unleashed his energy fangs toward the young man on the ground…but that didn't happen when two sharp war fans deflected the energy fangs away.
"Huh?" Tatsumi slowly turned around and his eyes widen in shock.
Coming out of the alley was none other than Kiva and IXA.
"What the heck…?" Tatsumi thought in shock at the sight of the newcomer next to Kiva.
"The hell…?" The Rhino Fangire cursed at the appearance of both Riders.
IXA gripped her Ixa-Calibur as she and Kiva head to face the Fangire who charged at them. IXA delivers a couple of shots at the Rhino Fangire's eyes, though the Fangire still charged at the two Riders who moved out of the way as the Fangire hits the nearby wall.
"This guy is bulky…" Kiva remarked.
"What is the plan?" Ixa asked.
"Let's see if we can slow him down…" Kiva suggested.
IXA reaches for her belt and pulled something out of the belt's right side. There lied green, blue, and purple Fuestles similar to Kiva's, but have a black component instead of white as she takes out the green one and stuck it into her buckle before pushing the knuckle in a bit.
"BAS-SHA-A FAKE!" The knuckle called out as IXA's Ixa-Calibur changes and resembled Basshaa Magnum. There was a sound of water splash as the faceplate over IXA's eyes slid open revealing them to be red.
The ground beneath her began to flood with water as IXA went at incredible speed across the water and hit the Rhino Fangire with rapid fire shots.
Kiva then comes up next with his war fans as he delivered multiple slashes at the Rhino Fangire. The Fangire himself became furious at the two Riders and was about to charge at them before noticing his feet were sinking straight to the ground.
"Damn!" The Rhino Fangire cursed, struggling to get out from the ground. "Of all things!"
Meanwhile, Tatsumi was watching the fight in awe upon how the two Riders easily trapped the Fangire. Then, from the corner of his eye, he noticed a tiny shift in the air before realizing what it was…
"Look out!" Tatsumi shouted, making the white armored maiden jump out of the way when thin yet almost transparent wires tried wrapping around her, causing her to lose control of the sinking water.
"Are you alright?" Kiva asked, getting close to his companion. He looked over here and made sure no strings were on her.
"I'm fine, Kiva-sama…" IXA answered quietly as Kiva sighed with relief.
"Tatsumi, what the hell, man!?" Lubbock demanded as he and Leone came out of their hiding spot.
"She was trying to hold that thing down!" Tatsumi argued as the Rhino Fangire broke free and let out a furious roar.
Kiva and IXA moved out of the way from the tampede of Rhino Fangire who then aimed for the two members of Night Raid.
"Oh crap!" Leone cursed as the Rhino Fangire charged directly at her. The blonde woman barely got out of the way before the Fangire came after her again.
The two began to engage in hand-to-hand combat but Leone's attacks barely damages the Rhino Fangire's skin due to its natural dermal armor. She barely caught the large arm and was forced a few feet back whilst digging her claw-like feet onto the ground.
"Damn… This bastard…!" Leone cursed, trying her hardest to wrestle back against the Fangire.
Lubbock used his wires to pull back the Fangire's head despite knowing that it won't effectively kill him, but hopes to buy some time for Leone to get away from him. The Rhino Fangire summons his energy fangs to impale Leone's neck and made the blonde scream.
This further made it difficult for her to hold the Rhino Fangire who still pressed forward while weakening Leone in the process. The Rhino Fangire broke through the strings and grabs Leone by the neck and tosses her across the street.
"LEONE!" Lubbock shouted, trying to use his Teigu but only for him to relize that his body was binding in water. "WHAT THE HELL!?"
"You aren't allowed to interfere again, Night Raid," IXA stated coldly, holding her Basshaa Magnum in her hand.
Before the green-haired teen could react, IXA makes a mental command and tossed him straight to the top of a nearby building.
Kiva runs past them before kicking the Rhino Fangire, getting his attention away from the unconscious woman. The vampire themed Rider moves out of the way when the Fangire slams his fist to the ground, creating a large quake around the area.
"There is nothing you can do against me, Kiva!" The Rhino Fangire said.
"There is a way….and I'm going for it." replied Kiva. He reached for his Fuestles and plucked out the last one on the left side.
The front of the whistle was purple and then he slipped it into Kivat's mouth, who blew the whistle.
"DOGGA HAMMER!"
(In Castle Doran)
Both Ramon and Jiro heard the sound of the Fuestle and let out their reactions.
"Cheh!" Jiro scoffed.
"Not me…" Ramon sighed.
Riki took one of the chess pieces and then crushes it into fine powder between his hands. He then exits the living room and marches down the hallway. As he marched down, the wall vanished to reveal a long hallway lined with torches and mirrors.
As soon he entered, his form changed into that of Dogga.
Dogga came to the end of the hallway and into the stone circular room. He stood there, fists to his hips. As he waited, the stone began lowering above his head with the center glowing orange. Dogga waited while purple chains gathered around his body. As the chains touched his body, Dogg transformed into a large statue looked just like him. The statue shrank down into a hand sized object as orange energy around him and connects to the stone chandelier. The stone item rose and began moving toward the heart chamber where Castle Doran's heart could be found.
Outside, an orange light could be seen getting near Doran's throat. It vanished behind the stone walls, but the clock atop of Doran's back rang loudly, announcing its arrival. The light then traveled up Doran's throat before vanishing in its mouth. The castle dragon then fired the orb of energy out with the statuette within it, headed for Kiva.
(Play Silent Shout)
Dogga Hammer comes near Kiva, slamming its fist together before everything from the bottom fist to the top head flipped down. It twists around so that the back faced the ground, looking like a large purple fist, while at the same time a long black shaft unfolded from the head of the hammer. It slowly came down in front of Kiva in the form of a hammer with its fist pointed forward.
As soon as it was in front of him, Kiva grabbed the hammer with both hands. Two bolts of purple lightning struck his hands as two lengths of silver chain wrapped around his arms and shoulders. A second later, they shattered revealing Kiva's new form. He wore thick purple gauntlets covering his forearms with heavily reinforced armor on his chest plate and shoulders. The armor was mainly purple and seemed bolted together with silver trims, and the breast piece resembled two fists connecting at the knuckles. His visor also turned from yellow to purple as he held Dogga Hammer in his hands.
This is Kiva Dogga Form!
IXA, and those who are present, watched Kiva pop his neck as he rolled his left shoulder loosening up for the upcoming battle.
The Rhino Fangire, undeterred, started his attack once again slamming his hands together before charging at Kiva. He threw several punches at Kiva, but the armor was able to protect him so he just took the blows. Then, when he'd had enough, Kiva grabbed the Fangire's horn and then kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying, and snapped the horn which the Rider throw.
'How strong is he!?' Both Tatsumi and Leone, who had regained consciousness during Kiva's transformation, thought while watching the battle. Even though they noticed he seemed to be slower in this form compared to his blue one.
The Rhino Fangire growled and got back to his feet and Kiva was already in front of him. Kiva lifted the Dogga Hammer and then started to pummel the Fangire with heavy hits that sent sparks flying across the air. The Fangire howled in pain from the strikes before Kiva sent him skyward with an upward swing. When the Fangire came down, Kiva used a horizontal strike to send him flying across the ground and into a building.
"Alright! Let's finish this!" Kivat ordered. Grunting, Kiva held the hammer vertically in front of him before placing it down to align with Kivat's mouth. The small bat bites into the shaft, sending purple energy waves into it.
"DOGGA BITE!"
Lightning struck from the sky. A gibbous moon appeared in the sky, called forth by Kiva's power. Kiva held the hammer in front of him and pulled a hidden switch behind it. The fist-like hammer's palm opened up to reveal a glowing red eye in the center. The eye released a purple wave of energy around Kiva.
The Rhino Fangire suddenly froze like a statue, immobilized by the wave much to everyone's surprise. Kiva then closed up his hammer and raised it above his head, the energy surrounded the weapon before a phantom-like representation of it floated above him. The Phantom Hand was gigantic and as big as Kiva in size.
Kiva swung the hammer around with the Phantom Hand following his motion as it smashes through the Fangire, shattering him into pieces, causing a crater to form on impact.
(Song End)
Soon the soul flies up into the sky, trying to escape, only to be devoured by Castle Doran.
"Be sure to brush your teeth!" Kivat reminded.
Kiva got out something from his side and tosses it at the unexpected Leone, who tried ambushing him from behind.
"H-How? I-I thought that you were—" Leone covered her nose from the putrid smell of the stink bomb, as Kiva turns around and smacks her in the gut with Dogga Hammer.
"I always prepare for the worse especially against you, Night Raid…" Kiva said, resting Dogga Hammer against his shoulder.
IXA then stands next to Kiva with her Ixa-Calibur ready as the lioness gets up from the ground after her Teigu ability heals her wound.
"That's enough, Leone!" Tatsumi shouted, standing between the Riders and Leone. He held his sword against the blonde, who was stunned by his actions.
"Tatsumi, what are you doing!?" Leone demanded, angrily.
"I'm not letting you harm them!" Tatsumi stated seriously, standing his ground.
"Are you out of your mind!? If we don't capture them quick, the Empire will get their hands on them!" Leone said.
"Like we need your advice about how we choose to live." Kivat retorts.
"Even if you choose to fight, I can see how the fight will turn out badly and draws the imperial guards." Tatsumi countered calmly. "Besides if anything bad happened to him, it will badly affect Sayo."
Like it or not, Kiva is the only one who managed to get Sayo out and cared for her at this point.
This made Leone flinch at his words, "T-Tatsumi, I know that is important and we promised to get her back for you! But, you don't have to help them!"
"Even if she doesn't want to be part of this war? Sayo made her choice that she doesn't want to see any more bloodshed even if she can't be with her only friend." Kiva retorted.
"Cry me a river!" Leone snapped. "Not everyone has their right about what they say and being pushed down so hard! I don't have my parents when I was left as an orphan!"
"The difference between what happened in the past and now is because I supported her decision to live away from this blood soaked country and its cruelty," Kiva said. "And it's because I'm her friend is the reason I support her decision!"
Leone narrowed her eyes. "That is foolish—"
"He's right, Leone. If Sayo wasn't be able to handle it, I need to accept it. But at the same time, I can't let you force him to be involved in the war." Tatsumi said, standing his ground.
Kiva soon approached Tatsumi and leaned close to his ear.
"…" Kiva whispered something as Tatsumi's eyes widen in surprise.
Kiva soon channeled electricity into Dogga Hammer before causing a large dust bowl to occur that invaded the vision of everyone else.
"Damn it!" Leone cursed before charging straight into the dust to pursue the wanted enemies.
The only person she finds was Tatsumi who covered his eyes from the unexpected explosion that knocked him to the ground.
Aboard Castle Doran, Raiga was in his workshop which was next to his bedroom as he was working on crafting a piece of a violin.
"Is there something that you want?" Raiga asked, still focused on his work. "Not that I appreciated those who come in without knocking."
Suddenly Gray materialized from behind while the Fandiri continued his work.
"I'm surprised that you noticed that I was here," Gray remarked.
"It is one of my many talents," Raiga answered. Though it is mostly due to being the Lord of Castle Doran that gives him a unique perception of anyone trying to sneak up on him. "Do you find everything to your liking so far?" Even though Jiro and the others kept him updated, Raiga wants to hear from Gray herself.
"I find this a suitable place to keep away from the humans," Gray responds stoically. "But there is still you to be considered. Why is it that you were chosen as Kiva?" she questioned.
"I'll be honest…I don't know the relationship between my father and the Kivat clan, but that is probably the main reason why I was chosen." Raiga answered.
"And your father? Where is he now?" she pressed for further information.
"He is gone," Raiga answered solemnly.
Unknown to him, there is a bit of shock before Gray speaks up once again. "I won't pry into the matter for now..." Gray said, "But I will still keep my eyes on you if you go back against your vows."
"Don't worry, I won't…" Raiga answered as he turned around and see Gray vanished already.
Back in the Night Raid hideout, Tatsumi sat in his room alone after he was put under house arrest once Leone had told Najenda about what happened. It was not like Tatsumi had any regrets about what he did even if it was an official order due to those who fear Raiga's power as Kiva.
But the young man was also relieved to be alone in his room after finding the letter that wasn't underneath his bed until now, as he opened it and instantly recognizes the handwriting of his childhood friend.
"Tatsumi…by the time you read this letter, I'm already back home in our village and that Raiga has delivered this to you." Tatsumi can't help feeling a sense of relief by reading the letter, knowing that Sayo is safe back home and won't be traumatized by what she experienced.
"Everyone was saddened by what happened to Ieyasu and the horrors of the Capital. But I want to apologize to you. I want to apologize for going back against our promise on that day when you, me, and Ieyasu left for the Capital. I'm truly sorry." Tatsumi continued reading quietly, clenching the letter. "The only thing I request is that you uphold our promise to help our village and come back. Come back with that big goofy smile of yours. I will wait until you return."
After he finished reading the letter for the second time, Tatsumi held it close to his heart tightly and started thinking of his childhood friend and their village. Though it is bitter that the village is aware of what happened to Ieyasu, Tatsumi was relieved that he won't have to be the one to tell them about it.
"Sayo…I will do my best to come back after fulfilling my promise." Tatsumi said quietly.
AN: That is the end of the chapter with the debut of Kiva Dogga Form. As for IXA's Fuestle to hijack Kiva's Arm Monsters in their weapon forms, here I made Ixa-Calibur change into them when the Fuestles blow.
