It was early in the Morning and the new Council was attending their first ever meet at the Hokage Tower. The charges had been announced during the naming ceremony and everybody seemed to agree to it.
Konoha's council was formed by the leaders of each clan, Madara and the new appointed Tobirama, they respected clan's council heads, Uchiha Kido and Senju Wata, and there was also Ryuutaro Koji and his son Ryuuichi's representing the Civilians. The group was led by Hashirama, the Shodaime Hokage.
Standing in front of them there were five shinobi and a civilian, waiting for their appointed duties for the Village.
"Good morning Minna-san!" Hashirama greeted "We're proud to initiate our first meeting as a Council" he clapped hands and everybody followed except for Madara who sighed and Tobirama who rolled his eyes. However they remembered what Sakura had told them the night of the festival and they clapped slightly.
"You may be wondering which your tasks and positions in the Village are going to be" the Senju rhetorically asked. "I will proceed to tell you" he took a scroll, stood up and read it out loud:
"Haruno Sakura, as our Village head doctor you will be in charge of health and science." The pinkette was a little bit flustered, that had been Shishou's dream for hear. "Uchiha Izuna, you are assigned as Sakura-san's second in command due to your quick advances on the medic field, and also due to your training as a shinobi" the mentioned eyes went wide, he thought that job would have been for Ryuuji, since he was the kunoichi's apprentice. He immediately looked at him with an apologetic look, but the teen seemed genuinely happy for him. "Koji Ryuuji" Hashirama added "As you are still training to become a shinobi, you are assigned as Sakura-san's personal assistant, and you'll be in charge of Civilian Medicine" now the teen eyes went wide, he? In charge of other doctors? That was too much. Now it was Izuna's time to look genuinely happy for the boy. Sakura smiled at the two of them proudly.
"Now, Uchiha Takato" The Hokage continued "Tobirama has asked for you so you both can be in charge of the Academy project, therefore you're assigned to education. I trust you both will create a great path for our younglings" the Uchiha nodded, he was a bit surprised that the man had asked for him though, they had worked for that project for a little time, but they seemed to have formed a good working duo. "Senju Toka" the kunoichi looked at him "you'll be in charge of internal relationship between shinobi and civilian. You will work with me and with Ryuutaro San, so everybody can cohabitate in harmony in the Village. Your job will also be to supervise all the modifications and upgrades inside the Village boundaries." The girl bowed, that was a great responsibility. "Takishima Hikari," Hashirama said at last "You'll be in charge of diplomacy, we expect to have other clans and villages to join Konoha, and as you've told us, you had missions outside your village a lot so you have external knowledge." Hikari was surprised how he remembered that, but she was also worried at the same time.
'How did they managed my ex village situation here? Wata-san, Ryuutaro-san and Ryuuichi-san don't know about us…' the girl thought 'Also… Being a Takishima outside this Village might be troublesome in the future…' She shook her head mentally and nodded to the Hokage. It was not the time to dwell on that.
"That being said" Shodaime finally left his scroll down "I have your first mission for our Village" he added looking at the Takishima who wasn't expecting that.
"Me?" she asked "A mission already?" 'Wow that was quick' she thought.
"Yes, we have received communication from the Nara Clan" Hashirama continued "They are interested in join our Village."
"Really?" Toka asked this time.
"It appears to be that they are tired of being nomads and they want to settle" Madara explained this time "With them, the Yamakana-clan and the Akimichi-Clan might settle here to since they have a long life tradition to work together"
"Right" The Takishima said "So what is the mission actually about?"
"You must go to the Nara camp and talk to the Clan Leader" the Hokage spoke "He will arrange you a meeting with the Yamakana and Akimichi clan's leaders and if your mission goes all right, they might probably send representatives to do some reckon here in Konoha and complete the deal"
"That's a huge responsibility" the kunoichi exclaimed a bit nervous.
"We know you can do it, that's why we're counting on you" Hashirama beamed trying to make her feel confident, but sort of failing "But don't worry, you won't be alone" The girl looked at him curious "We've assigned a three-man team, well,' two women-one man' team to be correct. Toka and Izuna-san will go with you"
"Really!?" both the Senju and the Uchiha asked in joy, Hikari sweat-dropped.
"Yes, Sakura-san is busy with the Hospital, and Takato and Tobirama will be in charge of the academy project" the Senju former leader said "We need that to be starting by when the Nara sends representatives" Everybody nodded in agreement, thought the middle Uchiha felt kind of down. He was happy for his responsibilities but he would have loved to go with her. 'Snap out of it already' he said to himself blinking hard. It was good nobody could read his mind.
"That seems perfect, then" Hikari said "when do we leave?"
"Tomorrow" Ryuutaro intervened this time 'WHOA ACTUALLY REALLY SOON!" she exclaimed in her head. "If you have time Hikari-chan, we would also like for you to visit the Merchant town that is nearby the Nara's camp. Its Leader, Mae-san, wrote to me and said she was interested in join us too. That would be a great improvement to our village" he said the last looking at Toka.
"Why is that?" the kunoichi asked.
"Because they have electricity, and other advances that will do marvels to Konoha!" the Koji elder was ecstatic.
Everybody in the room except for her and Izuna seemed to know what electricity was so she didn't ask. 'I'll ask Hikari-chan later' she thought. Madara and Hashirama had been told by Ryuuji what it was during their trainings, and also it seemed that the issue had already been discussed in between the council members 'When the hell did they talk about that, I thought this was their first… oh wait, 'official' reunion, right?' she thought 'Kami, they work fast'.
"Any possible improvement for our Village would be treasured" the Senju woman said stoically. That almost made the youngest Uchiha snort.
"Okay, we should get going then to get ready for our journey" Hikari intervened "do you have some information or maps to navigate better the area?" she consulted Hashirama, who started to look through the small mess of papers he had on his desk.
"Ummm yes I…" he started "mmm no, this is not" he said out loud "You go and get ready because it's a 10 to 15 days of journey" he smiled awkwardly "Then you come back to give you the mission scroll when you're ready"
"I have to get my armor!" Izuna said pleased.
"Hn…" the Takishima disagreed "We shouldn't go with armors; it might give the wrong idea that we mistrust them"
"But we need protection from enemies" he said.
"Yes, but you have our healing chakra now" the kunoichi made a point "With the basics of medic ninjutsu we can treat any wound that might be protected by an armor. You still get hurt when you use one, it's not that they are harm-proof" the Uchiha thought for a while and decided she was right.
"We must get some good travelling clothes then, and I bet you don't have anything" Izuna commented. The girl put an awkward face but still nodded "Okay, we'll go to the merchant district now to get supplies then" he looked at Hashirama "Are we dismissed to leave Hokage-sama?" he asked politely and that made Hashirama and Madara slightly blush of embarrassment. Even Takato was a bit flustered by his little brother respectful and serious aura.
"O-of course Izuna-san" the Shodaime cleared his voice "You're free to leave now" the three shinobi bowed and turn to leave the room.
"Oh Hikari chan you need a coat for travelling!" Izuna said "You should get one like Madara-nii's, you'd be supper cool in an Uchiha outfit!"
"W-what?" the kunoichi said embarrassed.
"Hey why an Uchiha, she could pass as Senju!" Toka complained.
"No." the Uchiha simply answered. His siblings sweat-dropped, there it went all his coolness.
The duo started a fight while leaving with Hikari in-between them.
"Oh, come on, stop fighting!" the council heard her said through the door "Man, this is going to be a long, long trip". She sounded so defeated that it made Tobirama snort. And that made all the tensions of the first reunion go away.
"Now we're up to work!" Hashirama beamed clapping his hands "Everybody is dismissed!" he added finishing their meeting.
The day went by with everybody starting their assigned jobs. Even though the pinkette had been the unofficial Hospital's head until then, she reunited all the staff and told them the news and how the actual work was going to be done from that day forward. Izuna had reunited with her and Ryuuji after getting ditched at the clothing shops: Hikari had used her Hirashin and disappeared – he assumed she went home – and after that, Toka excused herself saying she needed to get her stuff ready. He decided to go to the Hospital to complete his shift and then get ready and get some rest.
"I was assigned as Head of the Hospital, Health and Science." She said to everybody. "Also Uchiha Izuna here was assigned as my second in command and Koji Ryuuji was assigned as head of the Civilian medicine department, and also as my third of command until he completes his shinobi training" she added and murmur of approval was heard. Ryuuji was young but was respected by the staff, and Izuna had already win most of them with his charisma.
"The Hospital, Health and Science are actually a huge field to work, so we are going to divide our sectors" Sakura explained. "The Hospital per sé will have 8 hours shift, and it will always have a Medic Nin on guard, that means that if one of us is off duty, on a mission outside the village or actually working and need help, you'll have a name priority list to call, the first one being Takishima Hikari and then Senju Hashirama…" She handled some handwritten lists she had been working on the night before.
"The whole Idea of the 8 hours shift is to reduce stress. We don't have too much work right now, but once the Village expands, we will need more doctors for we will have more patients. Once we get the ideal staff members, we'll cut shifts to 6 hours so you can have well deserved rest. But you might have to work double shift once in a while so the others can also have days off." She continued. The people were interested in what she was saying; they had been working 12 hours shift for almost two months. "With that being said, that's how the Hospital will work since tomorrow. Later today you'll find the schedules written on the meal area. Now the about Health and Science…"
Sakura told them that they would start doing campaigns so they could create consciousness about health. Their goal was to finally have a complete Village health record. For science, people that have botanical knowledge and also the most interested in it would start to work on the newly inaugurated lab to do research about plants, herbs and medication. Also for new treatments and health advances.
Everybody was eager to start. Ryuuji and Izuna were assigned to check with the staff who wanted to do what. Seeing everybody so enthusiast made the Pinkette beam in joy.
Meanwhile in his brand new office, Tobirama was seating next to his desk and Takato was sitting opposite to him. They were working on plans for the Academy building and fields. They had to have everything ready to present it to Madara and Hashirama so they could create the building and even the land for the training grounds. Even though sometimes they felt awkward around each other, mostly when a certain freckled girl was around, they were a great team and seemed to enjoy working together.
It was late at Night and Hikari had just finished gathering the stuff needed for the mission. Earlier Kido san had showed up to give her the Mission scroll. Sakura was also at home, and was finishing making dinner.
"So…" the latter said "First mission, nee!?" she started conversation because her friend seemed nervous about the responsibility this mission bore.
"Yeah…" The Takishima added while she prepared the table, Matsu was helping Sakura. "A quite troublesome one" her friend burst into laughter.
"I get that reference!" she pointed and smiled "But I don't think Shikamaru's ancestors would say the same catch phrase"
"Hehe, I hope so…" Hikari said and sighed "But still it's a great responsibility, you know? It's like it depends on me if the power trio clans join Konoha."
"You're not alone imouto" Matsu said "Remember you'll go with Izuna-san and Toka-san"
"Hn…" she mumbled "that IS the most troublesome part" everybody laughed at that "Oh, by the way, I will be gone a little longer."
"Nani?" Sakura asked surprised
"I asked Hashirama-san to allow me to go to Mount Myoboku" she explained "I need to activate a contract with the frogs as an alibi"
"When did you do that?" her friend asked.
"After Ryuutaro-san came" the brunette said "I made a quick trip to the office and asked him"
"Oh, that's right" the medic observed "It's a great Idea! I should try to find Katsuyu Sama too." Her friend nodded.
The trio ate happily imaging how the new improvements on Konohagure will be emerging. They didn't know well this part of the history since most clans had their own and passed it through generation and you couldn't learn it at school. It was thrilling to think the greatness that was waiting to their Village. The Zetsu shadow was still far away from their minds…
The next day came quickly enough and the three person team – that was the name Hashirama had decided for since he didn't feel appropriate to say man- was standing at Konoha's gates. Each one was wearing a light forest green cape that was covering their newly travelling clothes, and they had a light bag pack where they had their supplies for the journey.
"Hikari-chan, Izuna-chan, Toka-chan" the Hokage called them warmly, he could be serious when he wanted but at that moment he felt anxious. "We all came here to see you off as a symbol of sharing strength and hope with you three. We need you to know that we are all depending on you and hope you'll get your mission done and return home safely" Madara, Hashirama, Sakura Tobirama and Takato were there to bid their goodbyes. The team looked at everybody and bowed a little. Once Hikari straightened up she looked at them spending some more seconds looking at the Middle Uchiha, to finally address the eldest Senju.
"Thank you for your words, Hokage-sama" she said "And we will see you all in a month more or less, Yaa ne!" she said smiled waving her hand, turned back and jumped off followed by Izuna and Toka.
"A month?" Takato asked surprised "wasn't this a 10-14 days mission?" He was trying to keep his coolness and not to seem overly worried.
"That is right" Hashirama said "But Hikari-chan asked if she could take a detour first so she could go to see the Toads. I had written the Nara to tell them that they were going to visit but fortunately hadn't written when exactly would they arrive, I just told them that I would let them know when they were settled in the Village." He explained "We thought it was better for them to make base at Ryuutaro san's friend's Village first."
"Hn" the Uchiha nodded absentmindly; his elder brother looked at him suspicious.
"Well" Sakura said also realizing the man seemed upset "we should get to work!" she clapped her hands "Are you going to supervise Megumi and Ichigo's training today Tobirama-san?" she asked the albino. The mentioned was had been looking at the Uchiha a bit worried, but he reacted when the kunoichi talked to him.
"Yes, some hours in the morning" he answered "then we need to start working with Takato-san on the Academy" the girl nodded and the Senju motioned to Madara and Hashirama.
"Anija, Madara-san" Tobirama said "We need your help to create the building. We already have the design ready"
"Indeed" Takato walked towards them too snapping out of his thoughts, he better get to work too. "If you could do that today, we may have this whole week to have it all set"
"That is wonderful news!" The eldest Senju beamed. "Let's get going then". Everybody left the gates, but Madara stayed for a little while.
"Takato?" he called his brother "Do you have a minute?"…
"So, are we going to see the Toads?" Izuna asked while jumping trees next to his two teammates. He was really happy to be in that mission with 'his girls' as he said the day before while shopping – that was the time when both ditched him though- He really cared for Hikari, and spending time with Toka far from the Village supposed a relief to him, so he could be more himself with her without having to hide his feelings. He was sure the Takishima knew something about it because whenever he teased her with his brother, she did a hell of a comeback with Toka.
"Haha you're in high spirits today" The Senju smiled.
"This is a huge deal, and I am able to do it with you guys." He simply said "I'm happy" he smiled looking at the horizon. That make Toka blush a little 'He seems so different lately…' BADUMP 'the hell was that!? Gotta be calm or he'll know'.
"Ohh Izuna-chan is soooo cute!" She mocked and the Uchiha got embarrassed 'The best cover up is to say the truth in a fake way hehehe…' she thought. Hikari laughed at that exchange.
"I hope the Toads let you in into their dimension" she said not worrying to much though "If we're worthy of them, they'll let us in and will be the best hosts"
"SUGOI!" Izuna said "so it's like four days journey from here, right?"
"Yeah" the Takishima said "But if we keep this pace, we might get there in three!" she smiled. She was also thrilled to see the toads again, and a bit scared to be honest. 'What if they don't…? No don't be like that, they will help us'
Back in Konoha…
"Takato?" he called his brother "Do you have a minute?"…
"Sure Aniki" the youngest said while walking towards him.
"Let's have a walk…" Madara suggested. They walked a few minutes in silence until the patriarch spoke again. "What's up with you?" he asked directly
"Nani?" Takato was taken aback with that question.
"I mean, you were really surprised when you learned they were going to be out for a month." The long haired man went straight to the point.
"Oh, that" his brother was getting a bit nervous "I-I was surprised indeed. Never thought they'd be gone for such a long time, it might be dangerous and Izuna…"
"You don't fool me" Madara sighed "You're not worried about Izuna, well maybe a little, I also am, but you know him. You're worried about her."
"W-WHAT!?" the youngest stopped on his tracks red as a tomato.
"Hey, I get it" the eldest said "I'm not trying to make fun of you, relax." He grabbed his shoulder "I just want you to know that if you ever feel bad, or worried, you can talk to me. I am here for you. You are my beloved brother" he smiled sweetly at him. For everyone that might not actually know the almighty Uchiha leader would think it was really out of character for him to do that. But those few who really knew him have witnessed that kindness that had been only shown to his siblings and his mother, and now from time to time to a certain pink-haired Kunoichi.
"Hn" Takato looked down embarrassed with his attitude, even though he knew him it was still weird when his brother showed himself that way, and it made him feel like a little boy.
"She is a strong capable kunoichi" Madara said serious now "If you care about her as I know you do, you should trust her more"
"It's not… wait, what did you say?" Takato blinked.
"Come on, I know we've been joking from months now, and sometimes we spoke sincerely." The eldest said "But what you did for her with the Ramen shop… I know we haven't spoken about that yet, but it was very sweet and thoughtful of you. And that shows me that it's not just a little crush you have for her. You're actually falling in love."
His brother was speechless. He knew that, but he wasn't ready to face it yet. It was too soon. It wasn't right, he was an Uchiha, and she was from the future. 'I know I said I was okay with her being from the future, but what if…' Madara saw Takato was fighting an inner battle so he stopped his brotherly talk; it seemed there were things he needed to sort in his mind so he would let him be… But he would keep an eye on him.
"Nee.. Don't mind me!" He laughed and messed his brother's hair "I am getting old hehe" he scratched his nose "Okay, I have to go. See you later at the soon to be academy" he winked at him and shunshined, not giving him time to answer.
'Aniki…'he thought and sighed 'thanks'
Three days later the Academy building was completed and Tobirama and Takato were working on the administrative stuff, how the classes would be, student records, the inscriptions, and other stuff. They thought they would be teaching some classes, but they thought maybe Sakura and Hikari that had some experience with kids could help them once it was open. They'll have to wait though until the latter would come back to ask her.
"Good morning you both" Madara greeted the duo.
"Good Morning Aniki!" Takato greeted back
"Morning" Tobirama replied "You're alone today, guess my brother gave you some space…" Madara Snorted
"Man, he's so dependent" he sweat dropped and the albino nodded with a plain face. "He's now tormenting Ryuutaro San about some civilian stuff. He's really looking forward for all the upgrades the other Merchant Village would bring to Konoha if they agree to come. He's already sent two letters to Hikari-san to ask her how they were doing."
"three letters!?" his brother asked "But's only been three days"
"My brother is very passionate" the Senju said bored "that embarrasses me too much I must confess. That was the only thing that worried me about becoming Hokage."
"He's doing fine thought, you know" Madara said "we should give him more credit. I guess if he ever finds a wife, she must need to have a great temper to deal with him and his insecurities though"
"Don't we all?" Tobirama sighed making both Uchiha blinked in confusion. "I mean, we're not easy people to deal with. Anyone that might want to be next to us, will face a great challenge"
"Guess therapy is going well" Takato joked to release some of the tension that had suddenly appeared, and he wasn't really sure why.
"Yeah, Sakura-san is quite good actually" The albino said serious "That's why I am able to accept that I am a difficult person. But I guess we all are because of our infancies." The youngest Uchiha looked at his brother, he thought he might be jealous that the Senju was closer to the pinkette due to therapy but was surprised to see his brother smiling at him.
"You're right" Madara said "Sakura-san is a great professional. I am sure she will help you; I think she already has, because you're more open to us even without your brother being around. She has actually helped us without us even realizing it. We're lucky she's an ally". Tobirama looked at the shinobi as if he was analyzing him, and he seemed he had just found an answer because he smiled a one-sided smirk.
"True." He said "You too seem more open. I must admit that it's weird that you are talking to me like this so freely. It seems you're acknowledging me aside from being Hashirama's brother and I get why you are his best friend" he paused. "I was jealous of you." That took Madara aback, he wasn't expecting that declaration "But now I guess I was jealous of him, because you were such a good friend for him and I didn't have one. My brother doesn't count." He added before the man interrupted. "I was jealous that Hashi was always easygoing and everybody wanted to befriend him, even his enemy. I thought that I would never have someone interested in befriend me. Takato offered me some sort of friendship but I was still reluctant to bond with an Uchiha. What I want to say is that I see that I was wrong with you and I am sorry."
"Hn…" The Uchiha was out of words for a moment. "You know…" he started clearing his throat "I always had a feeling that if you weren't such a jerk we would be good friends" he saw the albino scowled so he quickly added "I'm not saying you ARE a jerk you know?"
"I get it" The Senju just answered.
"I meant that you were always with that enemy stuff, wanting to kill me and every Uchiha around" The patriarch continued "and at first you seemed uncooperative. I really thought you hated me"
"I did" Tobirama confessed "I am sorry for that"
"Don't be" he said "I did hate you for a while, after what happened with Suzumi" the albino paled. It was the first time he spoke about this with Madara. "But after seeing father mistreat Takato… After knowing Hashirama was a Senju, I realized that Clans feuds were pointless but stupidly continued fighting. And we were all similar and victims of a tiranic leader." He continued "We were really similar, and I guess we still are. That's why I always kind of thought we would be good friends if odds were different."
"So you like me as a friend more than Hashi?" Tobirama blurted surprising the Uchiha.
"HAHAHA" Madara laughed "Hashi and I are weird best friends, but that was because we formed a strong bond when we were young and clan less at each other's eyes. I can talk with him about lots of stuff, but there are some that I only speak with my siblings or…" he thought of Sakura "I mean, that is my relationship with him. I guess I could have a different friendship with you, but if we put some effort and don't be jerks, It might be just as strong as the one I have with Hashirama. You're a good man, and it's interesting talking to you"
Tobirama was silent after hearing that. He wasn't serious when he had asked that, or maybe he was. He just wanted to prove himself that he could be like Hashi, not because he wanted to be better than him, but he wanted to know if he was worth to befriend, but also he realized something.
"You know, I always thought it would have been cool to have a brother like you" he said "I love Hashi, and I wouldn't change him no matter how annoying he might become, but you are not bad at all" After a moment of a sort of awkward silence Takato intervened.
"You two totally forgot about me" he said with a sad face taking both for surprise. "I may just leave"
"Ohhh Come on, don't get jealous" Madara reached for his brother and grabbed from his neck and ruffled his hair.
"Stop doing that!" the youngest Uchiha said.
"You're both good people" Tobirama said softly "You have an ally in me, and also if you are okay with it, a friend"
"Of course!" Madara and his brother –who was still in within his grasp-grinned.
Hashirama had concealed his chakra and had been witnessing the whole exchange. He was really emotional. He's little brother was not little anymore and his friend was fond of him too. This was almost too perfect. He remembered when they talked about life partners. 'When will I find one?' he thought and sighed. That was what told him out.
"ANIJA!" The Albino exclaimed "WERE YOU SPYING!?" 'Darn, I've got caught…' the Hokage thought.
"Ohh hello everybody!" he said not minding his sibling's accusations "I didn't know you were all reunited! I just wanted to tell you that our team has already reached Mount Myoboku!"
"Is that so?" Takato asked "that's great news!"
"Yes!" he decided to talk just to the youngest Uchiha "Hikari-chan is not sure how long it will take for her to do what she needs to"
"How are Izuna and Toka Doing?" the middle Uchiha asked, trying to move the topic of the conversation from Hikari.
"They are fine! They were accepted in the toad dimension" Hashirama said "So I guess we won't have any news until they leave it, she send that report before entering in it"
"Well, they are going to be safe and sound then" Takato smiled "Anyway it's good to have you both here we were wanting to tell you something"
"Really?" the Hokage asked, Madara looked surprised too.
"We were thinking of starting inscriptions at the end of the week" the Uchiha said "We're almost done and we can start with little groups."
"Right" Tobirama intervened "We won't know how many senseis we will need until we have the number of students interested in learning."
"I think it's a good idea" The Uchiha patriarch observed.
"Indeed" Hashirama agreed "We could put some advertisement on the Village notice wall, or do you think it's better to do a meeting?"
"Maybe we could talk about it at the council so the representatives can speak with their people." The albino pointed out.
"But the advertisement seems a good idea too" Takato said "Maybe we can also put one at the hospital."
"Yeah, that might work too" the Senju.
"Very well, tomorrow we will talk about this at the council meeting" The Hokage said "And let's start training ninja!"
Somewhere in the forest the three person team arrived to their first destiny. Izuna and Toka actually knew part of why the Takishima went to see the toads. They thought she just needed to sign her summoning contract again, but actually she needed to see them, because of her seal, and for the great threat that might appear any time. They stopped at a small waterfall to father some water.
"So, is it here?" The Uchiha said anxious, he really wanted to see this ancient place.
"That was fast, wasn't it?" Toka answered "I thought this would take more, but we came a day early"
"Hn…" Hikari said
"What's the matter?" the other Kunoichi asked.
"Well it's not here, but this is the first secret path" the Takishima explained "If you want to go from Konoha to Mount Myoboku on foot you need to follow some secret paths and it kind of takes a month."
"A MONTH!?" the others said in unison
"HN… but don't worry" she added apologetically "I am going to try the reverse summoning jutsu. I might not have the contract activated, but I know the jutsu and I'm familiar with the location"
"So if you use that Jutsu you'll go to their dimension and leave us here?" the shinobi felt betrayed, he really wanted to know the toads.
"Actually, I can't just appear without the contract" Hikari explained "I just hope to catch their attention while someone they don't know is trying to enter their dimension. Hopefully they'll send someone to investigate and I can talk to them"
The Uchiha looked at her dubious, but he understood what she meant. Also Hashirama wouldn't have accepted if they needed to add another month to their mission. Hikari walked next to the waterfall and stop near a rock.
"This would do" she mentioned as bite her thumb and crouched down the grass "GYAKU KUCHIYOSE NO JUTSU" she shouted and was covered in a puff of smoke Izuna and Toka stood next to each other coughing. When the smoke disappeared Hikari was just standing at the same spot alone.
"D-did it work?" The Senju asked.
"Hn… I thought…" the Takishima turned to look at them
"Hey, don't worry" Izuna said while approaching to her. He stopped on his tracks and put a hand over her head "At least you tried, maybe if we double efforts we can get there faster" he smiled.
"Yeah! We'll go with you" Toka came near them "and we'll write to Hashi to ask for more time"
"Guys…" the kunoichi was at the verge of crying and was about to hug them when suddenly a big puff of smoke covered them all.
"What the f…" Izuna screamed instinctively putting himself between the kunoichi and the smoke. When it dissipated a huge toad was standing looking at them menacingly.
"WHO ARE YOU? WHY DID YOU TRY TO ENTER TO OUR SACRED WORLD?" he spoke.
Hikari's eyes went wide, it was a younger Gamabunta.

Short chapter! But I wanted to update long time ago. Summer became busier than I thought. We had like 4 gigs and family birthdays and stuff. And everything is more stressful due to pandemics.
Hope you're all doing great!
I might do smaller chapters from now on so I can update quicker.
