Much to the surprise of the captured Kiri genin, Anko was true to her word and released them as their boat was getting far enough away to make it exhausting to swim back to the ruins of Uzushiogakure no Sato. Naruto wanted to pour over the scrolls he'd gotten but decided to wait until he was at home, he'd have more help from Kin and Tayuya that way anyway.
Instead the blonde tried figuring a comfortable way to carry his six swords, the back harness was fine for the Raito at least. He decided he wanted to wear the katana and wakizashi together on his left hip, so he'd need the restored scabbard for his new weapons to match the lacquered black wood of his other less legendary blades.
Putting the tachi and ninjato on that same side of his hip would be a bit too much though, so he tested putting his longest sword across his back under the Raito. Eventually Naruto simply put the ninjato there as well, tying them to rest in a lopsided cross with the hilt of the tachi coming out behind his left and the ninjato doing the opposite for the easiest access.
This would make the cavalry sword the hardest to actually draw, but given its size the horned blonde supposed he would only be drawing it when he mounted up on a serpent or steed Daemon anyway. Anko thought it was excessive to carry around six swords like that, and Tankoshoku mentally agreed with her but pointed out that excessive was good.
From the shore the journey back to Konoha was uneventful, Anko thought she saw a toll road once but it dissipated as soon as they saw the group coming. The tokujonin was disappointed by this, especially when she realized they were mostly scared of Naruto. She didn't think he cut too intimidating of a figure with his lack of height, but she supposed the horns and six swords strapped to his person was enough to make common bandits decide to clear out.
Anko always thought bandits were too stupid for that sort of thinking, she made a note to report that some moderately intelligent bandits had set up a toll road in the area towards the coast.
Tsunade was surprised that the worst thing to happen was a Kiri jonin dying for making a move against Karin, that was a new record for least amount of things gone wrong on a mission Naruto was part of. She idly wondered if it was because the younger blonde was technically a client, but dismissed such superstitious thoughts for the moment.
More concerning was the bandits, no order had come in to clear them out so they wouldn't be paid for doing so. Konoha couldn't afford to do charity missions at the moment, Tsunade knew her forces already had a habit of doing that without being given orders to do so. Her village needed money to rebuild infrastructure, not good will from grateful farmers.
Still, she made note of the toll road, figuring she'd at least warn any teams in the area to keep an eye out for unusually intelligent bandits just in case some ninja academy drop out or nukenin was in charge of them.
"Here's the paperwork to induct Haku as a Konton no Oinin under your command, fill it out with the code name Yukimaru and give it to Shizune-san." Tsunade said as she handed Naruto a clipboard with a lot of paper, having worked the position out with Kakashi, by keeping Haku as an anonymous Oinin they didn't need to worry about having a slave on pay roll.
Once he was finally home Naruto pulled out the scroll he'd used to store all the scrolls they'd found, checking the whirlpool walking exercise curiously. Karin began sorting the other scrolls into piles for organizing as he did so, and the blonde learned that it was basically an advanced application of water walking.
According to the scroll it was unique to Uzushiogakure no Sato thanks to the geography of their land, and warned against those who were not Uzumaki attempting it due to the chakra requirements. It also mentioned jonin should make use of Daibakuryu no Jutsu to make artificial eddies for training in foreign lands.
Naruto poured through the scroll looking for another mention of such a jutsu, seeing it also listed Mizu Bunshin and Toppa as he skimmed through it which implied Suiton and Futon were common affinities in Uzu no Kuni before it had been destroyed. The scroll was not quite the Fuin no Sho he'd stolen once before though, and most of the stuff was basic training and C rank ninjutsu.
Finally Naruto found it, "Hey, Haku-chan, could you learn this for me?" he requested, pointing to the instructions for the Suiton: Daibakuryu no Jutsu, "I want to practice this whirlpool walking thing, it sounds like it'd be good for my chakra control." he clarified, "You can learn other jutsu from this scroll if you want too though." he added.
Karin was surprised at Naruto just giving away ninjutsu like that, but she supposed Haku was more part of the harem than an actual slave. Actually all three of Naruto's slaves were basically only servants in name, although they at least did chores for the household so she couldn't complain. Isaribi did more chores than any of them, cooking and cleaning for everyone fairly regularly.
Haku looked over the instructions, "I think I can manage this." he said, memorizing the hand signs and practicing them without manipulating his chakra a few times to make sure he had it right. The speed he practiced hand signs at surprised everyone but Naruto though, revealing to the girls that Haku was more of a ninjutsu specialist than a shurikenjutsu specialist. This was especially startling to Kin who already felt outclassed in shurikenjutsu by the pretty boy.
With that done Naruto decided to pick out a Futon no Jutsu for himself, "Reppusho." he muttered, reading over the jutsu that seemed like it would suit him. There weren't a lot of low rank ninjutsu that supplemented kenjutsu, so he'd probably just have to get good at chakra nagashi if he wanted to do stuff like that outside of the Kiba blades being built for Raiton.
"Oi, you two," Karin said, pointing at Tayuya and Kin, "help me organize these!" she ordered, not enjoying feeling like she was relegated to clerical work while her relative studied ninjutsu. She didn't want to stop him though, she did want him to be strong as he was going to be the clan head after all.
Tayuya groaned but moved to help anyway, rolling her eyes as she did so. Kin helped with much less complaint, they were barely made to work as it was so she didn't see a problem with it. The flute playing girl was a bit more used to being in a position of power in Otogakure comparatively though, so she did grumble under her breath about having to organize scrolls.
Most of the scrolls were ledgers, some unimportant and outdated intelligence on merchant traffic in Uzu no Kuni. Karin was happy to find that a few scrolls were on Fuinjutsu, but they were all a bit above her level and focused more on theory with some instructions for practical examples of said theory. There was one scroll that was more on the basics, but it was the kind of basics even she knew about like kibaku fuda and Funyu no Jutsu.
Tenten stared at Naruto's new swords when he brought them in for maintenance, "They're beautiful!" she gushed, "The copper oxide should protect the decorations, I wonder how the steel blade is in such good shape though." she mused, loving getting to see such works of art, "Where did you even get these?" she asked.
Naruto laughed as he scratched the hair behind his second right horn, "They're kind of Uzumaki heirlooms y'know." he confessed, "So I'd like to get some new scabbards similar to these ones I already have for them." he requested, gesturing to his wakizashi.
Tenten nodded, "I suppose you'll want the handles refurbished too?" she asked and Naruto nodded, "I'll need to show these to the actual smith, just wait here and I'll be back with a price. He hates dealing with customers." she explained, taking the two swords back with her as she left Naruto in the store.
The blonde looked around while he waited, considering the new ninjutsu he was working on it might be worth getting some spare throwing weapons. According to the scroll the Reppusho could be used to enhance taijutsu and shurikenjutsu, or simply as a short range blast of compressed air.
He wondered if he should buy one of those fuma shuriken Sasuke liked, or some other larger throwing weapon. The horned blonde considered a few of the kusari weapons while he waited, but when Tenten returned with the price of the new handles and scabbard he decided to just stock up on cheap expendable shuriken.
As he paid the amount, not having to pay in full until the custom orders were done but still needed to put down at least half for material costs, Naruto had a thought, "How's your training going?" he asked, remembering he was supposed to be her superior officer in the Konton Gundan.
Tenten sighed, "I figured out some cool ways to use what I already know, but learning anything actually new is harder than you or my teammates make it look." she confessed as she counted the notes to put them in the register, "I've been practicing Katon: Karyudan while doing chakra control exercises to train my control, stamina, and focus, but it's slow going." she added.
Naruto remembered hitting Anko's Karyudan with his Toppa and grinned, "Karyudan? That's great! My Futon no Jutsu can enhance your flames when we team up!" he declared happily, "Imagine taking out a whole bandit camp with one konbijutsu!" he insisted.
Tenten hadn't considered that, "I guess our village does emphasize teamwork, and that's as good a match as any." she mused, "I just want to be able to fight as a champion myself too though, a legendary kunoichi by my own might." she added with another sigh.
"You should learn chakra nagashi, that's what I've been trying to do." Naruto said with a nod, "Actually what's your affinity?" he asked, "Fire?" he assumed since she knew one Katon no Jutsu.
Tenten blinked owlishly, "I don't actually know, Gai-sensei didn't think to check since he doesn't have many ninjutsu he could teach me." she confessed, realizing a slight disadvantage to being trained by someone who specialized in a field she did not. She supposed her taijutsu was above average thanks to it at least, but the Omote Renge was still beyond her and she wasn't sure if she wanted it.
"Just buy a chakra konnoshi then." Naruto suggested with a shrug.
"Kannoshi." Tenten corrected idly, "I think I will after my shift." she decided, grateful for the idea.
Kakashi felt like it had been a while since his team were together for training, although he supposed it only felt like that because he'd run himself ragged on his last few missions. Lack of sleep tended to make days feel longer, which added up over time. Danzo's 'advice' was not helping him much, although none of it seemed intentionally malicious so far.
Sasuke was now carrying a wooden bo the same height as himself, it looked like oak to Kakashi so he assumed it was. No new boons for the Uchiha from the look of it, Naruto's horns were new though as were the glowing pink power in the slit pupils to the jonin commander. Sakura now carried the Daemon infused shield Jiraiya had recovered, but she also had thorns emerging from her brass skin which was new.
"I want to see you three have a taijutsu match without killing each other with horns or bird talons or bone spurs. No Juken or biting either." Kakashi told his students, adding the last parts towards Naruto and Sakura "I'll watch with Sharingan, and just to make it clear that this is training three solid hits means you're out. Each solid hit is worth a point, whoever has the most points at the end gets the prize of bragging rights." he informed.
"Yeah! Bragging rights!" Naruto cheered, handing his swords to Maemi and clearly happy about the idea. Sakura handing her axe and shield to Genkei, and Sasuke sighed as he put his new wooden staff up against a training post before the three genin stood in a triangle facing each other.
"Begin." Kakashi said and Sasuke activated his Sharingan as Naruto leaped at him faster than anyone expected, the Uchiha attempted to counter with a right snap kick but the Uzumaki was fast and precise enough to crescent kick the attack aside without halting his left straight punch that soured over Sasuke's guard.
The Uchiha leaned back to avoid it as Sakura charged but Naruto had time enough to take a backhand swing with his left hand to force Sasuke to duck back, in the same movement the horned blonde deliver a swift right jab and with his left hand briefly blinding Sasuke's Sharingan it landed on Sasuke's stomach.
Kakashi was surprised at how quickly Naruto got the first point, and against Sasuke too. The new speed the young genin had developed allowed him to react to the Tatakainouta and dance to the tune better than ever, and he hopped away as Sakura swung at him. The kunoichi ignored Sasuke even though Kakashi had clearly intended a free-for-all and chased her blonde teammate, who dodged and weaved around her attacks with apparent ease.
Sasuke watched curiously and after a moment Naruto lowered his guard with a cheeky grin, he continued to dodge Sakura's taijutsu combinations and she was too slow to trap his movements with an attack. The kunoichi became infuriated by the cocky display of lowering his guard and tried harder but couldn't land a hit, Kakashi wished the blonde wouldn't be so disrespectful but let Sakura attempt to deal with it herself.
Sasuke joined in once he saw Sakura was getting no way, attempting to use her attacks to get a revenge hit on Naruto but the blonde just continued to dance between their blows. The young Uzumaki was having the time of his life, he hummed the tune he could hear in the Tatakainouta, a frantic tune that Sasuke realized he and Sakura's attacks where the inconsistent beat of the constantly shifting song.
Actually hearing it the Uchiha wondered at Naruto's ability to dance to it, and he decided it was an aptly named song. Finally Naruto started throwing swift jabs in between dodges, Sasuke managed to avoid them with his Sharingan without halting his own attempted attacks but Sakura was hit once in the face and forced to go on the defense as the horned blonde attacked his two teammates.
Kakashi was surprised since Naruto's speed and agility were both far higher than should be possible with training, he felt a little bad for Sakura who had training hard to catch up to her teammates physically but lacked a predictive ability like they did. The kunoichi took another blow to the solar plexus from Naruto as Sasuke kept trying to land even a single blow, but every attack his knew was dodged as Naruto didn't bother trying to block to avoid contact and was too fast for Sasuke to catch.
The match was at a standstill until Naruto suddenly hopped up and planted a hoof right through the guards of his opponents and knocked them both back by doing the splits in mid air, as soon as he landed he was on Sasuke with a flurry of swift consecutive jabs that forced the Uchiha on the defense as Sakura charged from behind.
Naruto heard her coming and listened to the Tatakainouta, thrusting his left foot in a back kick that crossed the pink haired girl's right straight and went past her left hand to strike her in the right shoulder. Sakura didn't register she'd lost and swung a left hook that Naruto ducked under, "Sakura-chan, you're out." Kakashi called out to remind her of the challenge as the horned blonde dived away from a right knee from Sasuke, springing from his right hand to flip back to his hooves.
The pink haired kunoichi scowled but pulled away as Sasuke stared Naruto down and activated Kiiro-en, the yellow flame emerging from his golden false eye to give him brief insight into the future that surpassed the predictive ability of his Sharingan. The Uchiha wasted no time as having it active for too long gave him a headache from splitting his visual focus with something he saw in his mind's eye, and he charged to attack Naruto.
Sasuke's face shifted to an alarmed expression as he saw that no future actually allowed him to hit Naruto's current speed, that was disconcerting. He halted his charge suddenly, surprising the others as he frowned and focused on a different idea. The Uchiha was relieved to note that pulling out actual ninjutsu would potentially allow him to land solid blows, but having been forbidden from using them he sighed and deactivated his future seeing Kiiro-en.
"I can't actually land a blow on Naruto with taijutsu, this is a waste of time." Sasuke announced, although he looked unhappy about it as he moved to retrieve his bo.
Kakashi raised an eyebrow, "It's not useless-" he began to try and explain.
"With our predictive abilities fully active we can't touch each other, I need to train my speed more if I want to actually catch Naruto with pure taijutsu." Sasuke interrupted, certain of it thanks to seeing it for himself with Kiiro-en.
"Bragging rights!" Naruto cheered happily, very proud of himself.
Kakashi was surprised at how much the horned blonde had outpaced the other two genin, but he realized why it had happened. Naruto had been marked for longer and fought more worthy foes, the hermaphrodite simply had more raw boons that boosted his combat prowess.
The jonin mentally categorized his team, genjutsu was a non-issue for Sasuke and Sakura, and Naruto seemed to have a surprisingly easy time detecting them as well. In terms of taijutsu Naruto was easily A rank, with Sasuke being B rank and Sakura being C rank. Sakura's bukijutsu was probably around B rank from what he'd seen though, he had no idea about Sasuke but Naruto was probably the highest there too with another A rank.
Next he decided to see how their ninjutsu was going, "I want you all to hit a training post with your strongest ninjutsu." he said as he lowered his hitai-ate back over his Sharingan.
Sasuke took a moment to think as Naruto swiftly formed a coruscating Hoshi Rasengan, the swirling orb of purple chakra sparkling with traces of pink chakra. The training post didn't stand a chance, chunks of wood going flying as the devastating jutsu tore it to pieces. Sakura hit hers with a Suidan, Kakashi expected that one and mentally marked hers as C rank and Naruto's as another A rank.
Sasuke decided on a Chidori, putting a large hole in his target, "Alright, Naru-chan could you do one that requires hand signs?" he asked dryly, the blonde unleashing a swift Hakai Toppa that turned the remains of his training post to sawdust, "Well that's a near perfect score for Naru-chan, A rank taijutsu, ninjutsu, but only B rank hand signs." he said, knowing that would encourage the blonde to work on those more, "Sasuke-kun you had B rank taijutsu, but A rank ninjutsu and hand signs, good speed. Sakura, your taijutsu and ninjutsu are both still C rank, your hand signs are B rank." he explained.
Naruto frowned, "Wouldn't S rank be perfect?" he asked curiously.
"S rank is not for individual skill assessments, it's a threat ranking of a person based on how everything they have combines." Kakashi explained and the blonde nodded in understanding, "None of you are even close to S rank, Naruto and Sasuke are A rank, Sakura is B rank." he added for clarification.
Sakura frowned at still being the weakest member of her team, being B rank at her age was impressive but the kunoichi couldn't help but compare herself to her teammates and wonder why she lagged behind so much. Sasuke was glad he could keep up with Naruto but convinced he still needed to be much stronger to beat Itachi, the idea he and his blonde teammate might be able to beat the estranged older brother of the Uchiha was considered but Sasuke wanted to win that fight as a challenge when the time came.
"Now," Kakashi continued, "seeing as you kids have been training with your Imps, any new jutsu I should know about?" he asked, Naruto started counting on his fingers.
"Too many to bother listing, lots of supplementary Mahojutsu." Sasuke answered vaguely, not wanting to spend all day going over the tricks he'd been practicing. Truthfully they were mostly gimmicks, but they gave him a very versatile toolbox.
"I can throw these thorns like little shuriken or senbon and they grow back pretty quickly." Sakura answered with a shrug, she had mostly worked on her fundamental taijutsu and bukijutsu.
"I can fly now, I nearly ripped my own arm to shreds but I've basically figured out the Chidori and combined it with Shibari no Ashikase," Naruto started listing, his team going wide eyed at the first one, "I've learned Futon: Reppusho but when I tried to use Raimeiton it bruised my hands and ripped up my palms a little, oh and I can do this Kujaku Myoho thing now." he added, pulling out his Hoshi chakra and forming the peacock feathered aura.
Kakashi nodded, "Spend time to master what you have," he praised Naruto and scolded Sasuke with the same sentence addressed at both of them, "Sakura-chan I'm teaching you a new jutsu, your patron will probably approve of straight forward Katon and honestly the Karyudan is practically a Konoha staple." he explained, "I'm pretty sure some chunin without Katon affinity can even do it."
Maemi was surprised, Kakashi was getting much better at giving guidance. She wondered who he asked for advice on training, because they knew what they were doing if they could train Kakashi to train.
Haku figured out the Daibakuryu no Jutsu with impressive speed, able to perform it within a matter of days. Naruto was eager to test whirlpool walking, so they went to a training ground with a body of water to use. Karin went as well, curious about seeing the Uzumaki clan training in action.
Naruto failed immediately and Haku stopped the jutsu so he could return to the surface, on his second try he managed to match the spiraling water for a few moments but quickly lost balance from the rapidly shifting water current. Karin wasn't sure if she'd be able to do it either, but she decided to give it a try and lasted barely as long as Naruto on her first try.
The red haired kunoichi frowned as she made little improvement, Naruto wasn't doing much better but it soon became clear that he could last far longer than her. Then Haku stopped soon after, "I'm sorry, Naruto-kun, but I'm spent for today." he revealed, although he'd gotten good practice with the ninjutsu at least.
Naruto was a little annoyed that his training in the new chakra control exercise was limited by someone else's stamina, but didn't blame Haku and continued training the leaf cutting exercise. He wanted to get better at separating his twin affinities so he could use Raimeiton more reliably without hurting himself, and use other jutsu more effectively.
The blonde had actually tried flowing Futon chakra into the Raito to see what would happen, and they hummed a little louder but it seemed they were built to turn any chakra that flowed into them to Raiton chakra. Even Hoshi chakra made little difference besides an obvious power boost to the electricity.
While Naruto was training the leaf cutting exercise Tenten came to see him, the swords retrieved from the Uzushio ruins under her left arm in new black lacquered wood with white silk wrappings around their new handles to match his existing swords, "Hey, Naruto-kun, did you know these are Chakra To?" she asked, earning a confused expression that indicated he did not, "The steel is a chakra absorbing alloy, they channel chakra better and could probably be used to perform some ninjutsu without hand signs." she explained as she handed them over, a little jealous of all the cool swords Naruto had.
The horned blonde stared at his new weapons curiously, unsheathing the katana and holding it with both hands to test that idea, flowing his chakra into the weapon and hearing a familiar hum he usually associated with the Kiba blades as his purple chakra flowed down and coated the blade.
Naruto was curious and lifted his blade to perform a basic downwards swing, his arms disappeared from view with a loud cracking sound. To his relief they returned to view in the same instant but in position as if he'd swung his sword, the blonde realized that he probably should have tested that with a wooden target, then he saw a cut in the wood of a tree in front of himself.
"Holy shit." Naruto said plainly as he lost feelings in his arms with a wince, the tree was at least thirty feet away but his arms bruised from the forces he forced on them by breaking the sound barrier with the Raimeiton kenjutsu strike, "That hurt." he informed.
Karin sighed and approached to check the damage, "Maybe don't use Raimeiton with this until your chakra control is better." she suggested as she used iryo ninjutsu to repair some of the damage, "Thankfully you're sturdy, so it's just bruising." she added.
Naruto pouted at the instruction as he put the sword away, "I guess," he said, happy to have six swords on himself again, "but I'll figure it out y'know." he added as he grabbed another leaf.
"You should probably take a break, your arms probably still hurt." Karin pointed out.
"No." Naruto answered bluntly, "They hurt, but if my magnificent self is to perfect all ninjutsu then the training will have to as excessive as my Kami." he explained, stating his intended goal calmly.
Tenten understood why she was lagging behind, "That's Futon training right?" she asked, "That's my affinity too apparently." she informed.
"You want to learn a Futon no Jutsu?" Naruto offered with a grin, surprising the girl.
"I might as well call you Naruto-sensei at this rate." Tenten laughed, amused by the younger genin, "Alright, sure, Gai-sensei doesn't know any." she agreed.
"Snake, ram, boar, horse, tiger, then clap your hand together and flow chakra there. You gotta hold it though," Naruto began to explain as he continued trying to cut the leaf between his own hands, "you can shoot the Futon chakra as a blast of compressed air or increase the velocity of thrown weapons." he continued and Tenten's eyes widened, "I figure it's perfect for you, Tenten-chan!" he finished with a grin.
The kunoichi was stunned, "Holy shit that is perfect." she exclaimed, practicing the hand signs, "Snake, ram, boar, horse, tiger, then I clap?" she asked for clarity. Naruto nodded and she tried it for real, but found it hard to hold onto and simply created a breeze down her arms.
Karin raised an eyebrow, "Naruto-nii, wasn't that in our clan scroll?" she asked.
Naruto shrugged, "Yeah, but it's Tenten-chan and it really suits her way better than Toppa." he insisted, his relative wondering what Tenten being the one he was teaching had anything to do with the question.
Haku decided to speak up, "May I practice it as well?" he asked, since he'd overheard the instructions anyway.
"Of course!" Naruto gave permission far too easily, Karin just sighed but she supposed it was a relatively basic ninjutsu anyway. She decided she'd try to learn it too, it seemed useful at least.
"Kurenai-sensei, do I have the chakra control for genjutsu yet?" Hinata asked to the surprise of her jonin commander.
Kurenai had not expected the girl to ask for genjutsu training, most Hyuga tended to focus on taijutsu with supplementary ninjutsu, "I can teach you Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu." she answered, "Despite the name it's a very basic genjutsu that's not too hard for most hardened ninja to break out of, but you can use it to test your aptitude for genjutsu against thugs or bandits." she explained at length, "The hand signs are snake and then ram, you need to be close enough for your auras to touch and transfer the Inton chakra by eye contact. I've heard the Byakugan can enhance the range of genjutsu but I don't know the extent." she finished.
Hinata nodded in understanding, testing the hand signs briefly before turning to leave.
"Where are you going?" Kurenai asked with a raised eyebrow, "I'm a genjutsu specialist, you'll be practicing this on me." she insisted, the woman clearly wanted to train at least one of her students, "Once you can do it we'll work on figuring out how much range you Byakugan adds to short range genjutsu." she explained.
Hinata hadn't considered using the genjutsu on a teammate so she was surprised, but she nodded in understanding and moved closer to attempt the genjutsu. Her first attempt was a failure, as were her next four. Hinata understood why Kurenai insisted she needed to train this as she finally got it on the sixth try and Kurenai broke it easily.
The jonin looked impressed, "Only six tries, your chakra control is better than I thought. Good work, Hinata-chan." she praised. Hinata smiled and continued practicing, deciding to take the opportunity to practice doing hand signs with her other left hand while she was at it.
Eventually, they found out how much the Byakugan increased the range it was possible to inflict the Narakumi no Jutsu on someone and Kurenai was baffled. The jonin decided Kekkei Genkai were unfair, Hinata could hit someone up to the range of her Byakugan of fifty feet without needing eye contact. There was a flash of a pair of white eyes in her mind's eye signifying the jutsu if no eye contact was made, which would be a dead giveaway to anyone with even a modicum of shinobi training.
Danzo sighed, he'd given Kakashi good advice in his opinion but the man only took on some of it when training his students. The crippled man supposed it didn't matter overly, as long as they proved Konoha strong in the next chunin exams.
His own experiments were not doing so well, Sai had not even been marked yet. His art was very lifelike when he wanted it to be, and having been encouraged to be creative he was better with colors. Danzo wondered about the more abstract art, he'd drawn some rather horrifying and nightmarish portraits according to the photos in the reports.
Danzo wondered if he should attempt to align with one of the gods himself, but he was wary and cautious. He realized their influence seemed to be spreading, and he'd noticed some had been marked without even knowing much about the gods. Naruto was the catalyst, he knew that much.
Why the village jinchuriki was the catalyst of divine power being gifted to ninja of Konoha was a complete mystery to Danzo, but he supposed that as much as he didn't fully trust these new deities they were making his home stronger. That was all that mattered, so the man was slightly grateful.
"What the fuck is that?" Tsunade asked with a neutral expression, almost wishing she hadn't had a drink before meeting this at the sight of the strange new addition.
Shino looked like he didn't want to answer, "This is..." he hesitated, "This is an Imp, a Bubo to be specific." he decided on, "My Familiar and proof of my contract with Nurgle-jiisama." he explained.
"I am Funben-tan!" The small thing introduced from Shino's left shoulder.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow at the name, "Why does he call himself that?" she asked bluntly, as it was disgusting even as a joke.
"I do not know, and I do not think I wish to know." Shino answered flatly.
Shizune stared at Hinata in surprise when she came to take Karin to meet Naruto at Ichiraku's, namely her third arm. The jonin felt a little twinge of jealousy despite herself, she decided not to be left behind and trained harder after her shift at the hospital. Finally, a week after seeing Hinata's arm she met with Tsunade.
"I can form a chakra scalpel with one handed signs now, I'm combat ready again." Shizune insisted, dressed in shinobi uniform instead of her dress for emphasis.
Tsunade was surprised at how quickly Shizune accomplished that considering she was training a lot of iryo ninja for the hospital lately, "Well I'll let you go on C rank missions with teams then." she decided after a moment of hesitation, "I do hope you keep practicing to perform Shosen Jutsu one handed as well." she added, not wanting Konoha to lose out on such a talented iryonin but needing the jonin for missions.
A week after learning her first genjutsu Hinata, who had continued practicing the second step of Rasengan training, managed to put a hole in the rubber ball. She still couldn't quite pop it though, and Karin had been taught the first step as well but was only just starting the second phase.
Being ahead of the other kunoichi was something Hinata liked, faint remnants of when she'd briefly thought of the girl as a rival for Naruto before getting used to how the harem idea worked. Naruto meanwhile had kept training the entire week in multiple different disciplines of being a shinobi, working mostly on his chakra control but it remained his weakest point.
Naruto had practiced with Raito more as well, "Hey, Haku-chan, do you know what hand signs I should use to make the Kiba blades fly around?" he asked curiously one day while training.
Haku shook his head, "Sorry, Naruto-kun, but I have no idea." he answered, disappointed to be unable to help.
"Damn it, I need to study ninjutsu theory more if I want to understand how to do it then." Naruto sighed, taking a break from his chakra control to look over the shelf of scrolls they'd deemed useful out of those pilfered from Uzushio's ruins.
