Fairy Tail Origins Parva Alliance AU
Chapter Two: Crown Prince Steven Aquarius of Atlantide
Over the next few months life was fairly easy and hard at times for the twins. They went on many quest and had many adventures. They also reunited with their maternal grandmother named Anglia Prenderghast who it turned out was their court assigned magic counselor. Three months after they had arrived at the base they were now B rank wizards and on their way to A rank and hopefully would take the S class trials soon.
Thanks to the efforts of Reaper's training and their grandmother's counseling they were quickly gaining control of their power. They had gather a fair amount of money form the number of quest they took which they saved for their guild which they planned on opening together once their mandatory guild service with the coins was over. They had actually already came up a name for this Guild. Divinus Magia, which meant divine sorcery.
When Reaper learned of what they wanted to do after their mandatory guild service. He began teaching them how to run a guild. Even having them become secretaries so they would get used to doing paperwork. They also had made friends with other guild members such as Sliver, Reaper's apprentice who would one day take over leadership of The Wondering Coins and very few knew about. Needless to say life was good for the twins.
They planned to make this guild a place where ex-criminals who felt remorse for their actions could come to repent and redeem themselves. Which would work in their favor since there were very few guilds like this one willing to take on criminals. This would allowed them to gain sponsors not only from the royal guilds but from companies has well.
This, combined with their friendship with the guild leaders of the royal guilds and the garden that they were planning on growing food and medical herbs in and sell half of their yields to people in the city, would hopefully allowed them to open a successful guild.
Today however, was not an ordinary day for the guild of The Wondering Coins. Today was the coronation of the new king of Atlantide, King Steven, would be crowned. Has The Wondering Coins were one of the royal guilds they would be required to attend the ceremony and be there a day early for final rehearsal.
Mrs. P has the guild loved to call her entered her grandsons room has she would be helping them prepare for the event. After it was found that she was their grandmother, and a DNA test proved this legal guardianship was given to her and supervision of their mandatory guild service remained with Reaper.
"Oh boys, time to wake up! Don't make me poor a water bucket on the two of you!" She smiled waking the twins. The twins like most night ended up sharing a bed. This was due to the nightmares that they suffered not only because of their childhood but their time under their demons control.
Ritche and Brandon woke at the sound of their grandmother's voice. Remembering what today was the twins quickly got up and turned to their aunt who was wheeling in two trays of food and some water and tea. The twins thanked her and got ready for the day after eating.
The wore the uniform of the royal guilds of Atlantide. Which for them consisted of what looked like a military uniform in the colors of white and turquoise. Ritche still wore the headband that he preferred from his home. There were no rules against it so long as they wore the formal parts of the uniform.
The two looked at themselves in the mirrors and made sure that they looked ready for what was to come. Their grandmother came back into the room dressed in her usual outfit. While she worked with The Wondering Coins, she wasn't an official member so they wouldn't need to be there. Looking over her grandsons she smiled.
"You two look ready for today. You made sure to pack everything you'll need, yes? I don't want to get a call from Reaper saying you two forgot to pack everything you need for today and tomorrow. It's a very important day after all." Smiled Mrs. P.
"Don't worry Granny P, we made sure to pack everything we need last night, and we checked again this morning." Ritche smiled happily. Brandon nodded showing his briefcase. Mrs. P smiled happily and gave her grandsons a hug.
"Be careful you two. Meeting with the royal family is no laughing matter. Their pretty forgiving but they are the highest power in the country." She reminded with a smile. The twins nodded and left their grandma's house for the city outside and made their way to the guildhall of The Wondering Coins.
The streets were kept clear of people so the carriages could travel to the castle without problems. An hour later the carriages were off, and people were lining the streets to see them. Soon enough they were at the palace.
The palace like the other buildings in the capital was made of a white stone like material and had green roofs Ritche and Brandon along with the rest of their guild made their way inside to the throne room where they would meet the king to be of Atlantide.
Meanwhile the soon to be king was in his bedroom in the palace he was getting ready to be introduced to the royal guild leaders with the help of a servant. While he had known them from his training to become king, he never interacted with them much outside of in passing when shadowing his father in his duties to the kingdom so he may learn about what would be expected of him when he took the throne. Plus, this would be the first time that he would be meeting the family of the royal guild council members has well.
His butler named Clyde Dalton who was a man in his early twenties was helping him get ready for the occasion. He had jet black hair, blue eyes and wore the same uniform that all butlers wore at work in the palace which consisted of a white button up shirt, blue vest and matching trousers with brown boots and white gloves.
Steve himself had brown eyes and lighter brown hair. He wore his military uniform has the crown prince for the last time for starting tomorrow he would be king. He sat in his room has Clyde looked over his work. "There we go your highness. I've done my best to ensure that you're ready for your meeting with the royal guild council members and their families and guilds. Shall I leave you to finish your preparations?" Clyde asked with a soft smile.
"Yes, thank you Clyde, please wait outside shall I need anything." Steve ordered with a soft smile. The butler nodded and left the room has per the young prince's orders. Only to come back a moment later.
"Your Highness, I just got word from the transport team responsible for bringing your fiancée and her heirs to the palace. They've arrived safely and have entered the palace." The butler said with a polite bow.
"Good, I take it their temporary rooms in the guest of honor wing have been made ready for them, yes? I don't want them to go without one while their here." Steve asked the hand butler with a smile.
"Do not worry your highness, I personally saw to it that the rooms that they were assigned were ready just yesterday. I also made sure that the servants assigned the task were only the most trusted of the servants. They are honored guest after all, one of them being your fiancée while the other two are her heirs. Not to mention that they hail from another royal family whose kingdom is a part of the alliance so it wouldn't due for someone to mess up their accommodations, even if they are only temporary." Clyde replied with a smile. Steve nodded with a smile of his own.
"Good, I want you to show them to their accommodations personally. Make sure that there are palace guards their too, with Remona still on the run it's possible that she'll go after them if she somehow gets through the palace security. It's important that my fiancée's time here goes smoothly even if we don't end up getting married. The Parva Alliance is in a fragile state right now due to the actions of former the royals that took their thrones illegally. We cannot afford any scandals right now, so I want things to be handled has carefully has possible. Only guards and servants of with upmost trust of my family are to be assigned to Princess Carly and her heirs staff details understood?" Steve told the butler.
"Yes, of course your highness. We must ensure that the safety of our guests of honor is not compromised. Do not worry, I made sure that their rooms are secure before coming here. I'll be on my way to show them to their rooms." Clyde said with a bow before leaving the room.
About a half hour later, Steve's personal body guard and head of the guard Samuel Bluewater or Sharky has he liked called entered the room. Hey Steve, the royal guild leaders are here are you ready to meet them?" Sharky asked with a smile. Steve nodded with a smile and turned to his friends. Steve and Sharky then went down to the throne room where he would meet the guild leaders, the grand guild master and their guilds and family.
King James was already in the room with his wife. "Ah, son, good to see that you're on time. Are you ready to meet the royal guilds?" The soon to be former king asked with a smile. Steve nodded and the grandmaster was called into the room. When the ceremony of the royal guild introductions was being performed it was a requirement for the grandmaster to be introduced to the new king first, then then his family and then the guild leaders who would be introducing their families and their guilds.
The grandmaster was a man in his late fifties and had gray hair. He wore a green wizard hat with brown trim and robes of the same color. "Son, this is Grand Guild Master Randolph Blackbell he will be introducing your formally to the royal guild council and the other guild members. Argentine this is my son Crown Prince Steve of Atlantide. He will be your new boss once he takes the throne in the come tomorrow."
"It nice to meet you, I hope that we can get along well enough to work together for about five years seeing has I plan to retire in that time frame." The grand guild master smiled politely while mentioning her plans for the future. The royal mage wore a dark green robe with brown trim, leather boots. He had gray hair and dark green eyes.
Steve nods taking note of what was said and to make sure to find someone that would be qualified to replace him. "Nice to meet you has well Grand Master Randolph. Is the Guild Leader of Grimshade and his family ready for introduction?" Taro nodded and called for Michael, his second, and their families to enter the room.
Michael and his wife entered the room first his second in command Devin following them with his wife Lilac Shadowsoul and their one year old daughter Sabrina. Lilac was a blond haired woman who wore light purple sleeveless dress. Their daughter had light brownish gray hair and wore a similar dress only with puffy sleeves. Devin hadn't married yet or adopted children, so he didn't have anyone besides Michael seeing has both of their parents had passed on a few years ago now. He had brown hair with red streaks that slowly turned to blue.
Randolph approaches the two leaders of Grimshade and beckoned them and their families forward. "Your highness, this is the leaders of the guild of Grimshade. They the longest serving guild of the royal guilds of Atlantide. On my right, is the first leader of Grimshade, Michael and his family and on my left, his second in command Devin."
Michael gave him Steve a smile. "Hello your highness, it is a pleasure to meet you formally. This is my wife Lilac and our daughter Sabrina." He introduced himself and his family. The soon to be king smiled and shook his hand.
With that the rest of the Grimshade guild entered the throne room. They were quickly by Michael. There were about fifteen members in the room baring Michael and Devin. The next would be The Wondering Coins. Reaper was just has intimidating in person has Steve had heard of him from the stories the media reported.
The rest of The Wondering Coins were just has powerful has the other royal guild members but there were two that caught his and Sharky's It was Ritche and Brandon. The way they conducted themselves around the soon to be king seemed to indicate they were slightly weary of him.
The introductions for the protectors went just has smoothly has the others. None of them really caught his eye but all of them seem to be good people with powerful magic. With that palace had free time before the rehearsal for the coronation and there were a verity of activities for the guilds to do such has ring toss house back raiding in the garden, puzzles and a lot of other ones too. The rehearsal wasn't going to be for a few hours so that would allow for the guilds to enjoy themselves.
Steve on the other hand wasn't going to participate in the activities quite yet. He had bigger things on his mind. First, he wanted to make sure that his fiancée and her children, which would become his has soon as they were married, were settled into the room they had been given. It wasn't that he didn't trust Clyde or his parents, not at all, he merely didn't want a repeat of his wife's past.
With that in mind, he made his way down to the honored guest wing and found the first four rooms occupied by his future wife and children. He entered the room of his wife after knocking to make sure she was there.
His fiancée's name was Caroline, but she went by Carly for short. A very sweet woman with a sometimes jaded personality when someone tried to hurt someone she cared about. She had long hair with slight brown tone to it. Her eyes were a sapphire blue, and she held a fair skin tone. "Hello dear, how are you and the kids doing?" he smiled happily.
"There doing fine. They really look forward to the coronation tomorrow. There in the play room with Lenny. I wanted them to get some energy out before bedtime so they could get a good night's sleep and bond with Lenny a bit more seeing has we haven't been able to send them on playdates in a while and I want them to get used to the idea that they will be living together form now on." Carly smiled at her fiancé.
"That sounds like a good idea seeing has they'll be siblings once we marry. It's best that we get them used to the idea that they're going to be living together now rather than later. Especially considering what happened back when you were in high school. Are the servants treating you well?" Steve smiled happily.
Carly nodded with a smile of her own. "There nice, the children's staff members are treating them well. There better then the ones at my mother's castle during Tomas's reign. I'm still glad that despite the fact that we're engage, and I've moved here that when mom took over, she replaced most of the staff at the castle."
Steve nodded with a frown. When Steve was young, he had already graduated high school at the age of fourteen due to his academic skills being higher then average allowing him to get through their compulsory education earlier than most. However, for a number of reasons his parents wanted him to remain crown prince for a while longer.
The first was the fact that according to international law a prince or princess could not become king or queen until the age of eighteen. This was so the weight of the crown wouldn't cause problems in their psychological development. The weight of the crown was a heavy one after all, one that teens should not have to bear quite yet.
The second was that most royal families required their children to spend time has a commoner. This is so they could understand that not all had the luxuries that royals and other rich families had and make better decisions because of it. Afterall, it was vital to ensure that a royal understood their kingdom's financial situation especially should they take the throne.
Back when Steve was a teenager, his family was one of these royal families to require this though the practice had become more common than it was back then and he wanted to continue this practice with his and Carly's children. Afterall his "commoner time" has it was called was when he made some of his closest friends who he was still friends with to this very day.
The third reason is that since by law a Prince or Princess could not be forced to take the throne and can abdicate should he show desire to do so, his parents wanted him to have a back up plan in case he decided that he didn't want to be king. So, after graduating his high school course under a private tutor, he got an apprenticeship under the care of Terrarium's top academy of Everston Community Academy. A top tier school for Middle and High Schoolers. At this school homeroom classes stayed together until graduation which was why the young king had so many friends from back then. These friends were called The Little Club a club of adventurers that enjoyed friendly adventures with one another.
He had been partnered with Scott Turtleson who was the head teacher at the school due to his success with his first group of students which he took over from another teacher when they retired. When Carly transferred into the school in the early days of year two of Steve's apprenticeship class, she ended up in their class which is how they first met.
Over that time, they bonded and became close friends and eventually started dating one another. However, because of her "Step Father" and her "Step mother" their was a time that they had to take a break for a while after The Grate Parva Alliance Civil Political War which had almost caused the downfall of the alliance. It had only ended two years ago and the after effects were still being felt in many countries in the alliance.
Atlantide, being a member of the alliance was not heavily affected but still had had it's fair bit of problems due to those events due to Carly and Steve dating at the time and the war mainly effecting the royal families of the alliance and a few outside kingdoms and their families.
With that being said, that was why despite how long they had been dating they hadn't married yet. Well, that and the fact that Royals were expected to wait longer since they were expected to have and maintain a healthy relationship with their spouse. They were also expected to stay engaged longer before they married to ensure that after marriage their relationship would stay healthy. If a relationship between royals were toxic or became toxic, they were expected to break up or go to consoling.
Steve smiled at his future wife happily while nodding in agreement. Part of what started The Grate Parva Alliance Civil Political War, was because a number of royals married illegally via force marriages which had been outlawed centuries ago in Terrarium. Carly's former step father was one of them while the woman who took care of her in her later years was her real mother Queen Sofia Oakwoods of Magiclica.
Well, soon to be former queen since her sister Charlotte or Chloe for short, the originally last in line for the throne would be taking over since she and Kathleen or Kelly, as she liked to be called had abdicated their rights to the throne of Magiclica in favor of marrying her lover Prince Donatello Pierceton of Minecraftia and Carly to marry Steve. In Terrarium, a royal heir could only be an heir to one throne so that meant that they had to abdicate the throne of their home kingdom.
Steve and Carly after checking on the children decided to spend time with the royal guild members the children were all together in the care of the royal nanny named Rosalie Bennett. A Brown haired woman with emerald green eyes in her early twenties with a fair skin tone. They were first going to check on them, then would play some of the games around the palace with the royal guild members to get to know them.
Arriving at the children's play room in the children's wing they saw the children playing with one another and the nanny watching them with care. She was wearing the uniform of the royal nanny which was the same colors of Atlantide's flag. Noticing their arrival, she smiled. "Your highnesses, the children are having a wonderful time here together. Princess Carly, your children are an absolute delight to watch. How did you raise them so well while in school?"
Carly nodded looking over her children. "I mostly had help from my mother her staff and mine. When ever I had school or needed to go and take care of something I would have them take care of the children. However, once Remona came into the picture, me and Kelly had to send them to live with my Auntie Lydia so that they would be safe. Me and Kelly would sneak out once in awhile to visit them when we could. If it weren't for them and Steve, I wouldn't have been able to raise them has well has I did." Carly replied honestly.
She was quickly growing to like the caregiver and could see why her fiancé trusted her to watch over his heir, Heir Lenard Aquarius of Atlantide, his own adopted son who would be taking Steve's place has Crown Prince when he became King.
The two parents played with their children for a few minutes before Steve made his way to the guild activities has, he was required to participate in them for the time being to get to know the royal guild members has he would be working with them frequently throughout his reign has king in many situations. With that in mind it was required for the royal guild members and their guilds leaders more so.
However, despite that he wanted to meet with Ritche and Brandon first. He knew that they felt a little wary of him and him being king it wouldn't work out all the time to leave things like that. So, he wanted to start building trust with them now to ensure that should the need arrive, they could work together. Especially since he heard word from Reaper while walking the halls earlier that they wanted to make a guild of their own.
Ritche and Brandon in the time that they had joined The Wondering Coins they had made quite the name for themselves had guild members. In fact, they were currently tied for the fourth most popular guild members of Atlantide and word around the guilds was that they planned to open a guild which was projected to become a royal guild one day. Mostly because of their top tier quality of work has guild securities for Reaper and Shades, even filling in for them at royal guild council meetings from time to time and performing the job well.
With those factors in mind the future king thought that it would probably be a good idea to ensure that he build and maintained good relations with them. Especially if their guild ends up becoming a royal guild one day in his reign like the people believed they would.
With that intention in mind, he decided to make his way to the pair of foreign world twins. Steve frowned when he remembered what Reaper had told him when introducing them. He wondered if their origins might have had something to do with their wariness towards him.
On one hand they were in a foreign world that they more than likely only heard about from stories and spent their first few months here under the control of their demons, so it was more than likely that they didn't have much experience with Atlantide's culture yet. On the other hand, they had been in this world for a year now a free of their demon's control for now so it could be something else.
Ritche and Brandon were in their guest room in the palace. It was a quiet for the moment, but they were still peaceful. "You'd think after a six months of therapy we'd be able to relax around other royals a bit easier than this." Ritche sighed sadly.
Brandon nodded with a sigh of his own. "I know, I wish, "Father" would have allowed us to interact with people outside of the kingdom more… do you remember when we would sneak out when we were young?"
Ritche smiled with a nod. "I remember, most of the time only I could but I remember that you used to love it when you could come with, or I brought you something from outside. We used to have so much fun. I still love it here at Atlantide but sometimes I wish we knew what happened to the others. Do you think our therapist is right about our "parents" keeping secrets from us to make us follow his orders...?"
"They've kept secrets from us before… It's not unlikely, I did find it odd that he never allowed us to attend their funerals. So, it's not unlikely that he lied about somethings. But we also don't have proof that he wasn't. It's like a reverse Schrodinger's cat, while to those who were out know if our old friends and family are alive or not, we don't… Then again is also a possibility that they don't know either. You know how are "parents" were. They could have thought that by keeping their death a secret from the public they could maintain their "perfect image". But even if we wanted to find out you know that there's no known way back home yet." Brandon replied softly.
"Your right, I'm just glad to be here instead of Salode I feel safer here then in our "home" kingdom." Ritchie smiled at his brother. Brandon nodded has they heard a knock on the door. They allowed entry and it turned out to be Steve.
"Hey their… Ritche and Brandon right? I wanted to know if you two were up to some Horseback riding. Reaper told me that you two liked doing that and I know that your still relatively new to our world and I was curious about the difference between yours and ours." Steve smiled softly at the two devil slayers.
The two brothers looked at each other before nodding and smiled. Though they didn't fully trust Steve they did feel like he was a friendly person. Besides the only reason that they didn't trust royalty was because of some bad experiences with some in their home world. Their world and this one might be connected to one another but that didn't mean that their personalities and the people were the same. Their therapist had said has much and now was a good has time to let that fact be proven.
