Chapter 2
Chloe's POV
I watch Beca walk away from the booth. She's so cute! I've had a little crush on her since I met her my freshman year when she was helping Aubrey move in. Every time I've met her since my crush has grown. I think there might be a chance that Beca feels the same way about me. I always catch her staring at me and I can make her blush really easily. Plus I have really good gaydar and I get gay vibes from her.
I haven't told Aubrey about my crush on Beca. I'm kind of scared how she would react if I told her. Aubrey is really protective of Beca and I'm Aubrey's best friend. I really hope Beca decides to audition for the Bella's.
"I hope Beca decides to join the group" I hear Aubrey say to me once Beca is out of ear shot. "I'm worried that she will just hide in her room working on mixes and not make any new friends. I know she doesn't want to be here, but I'm hoping she will see how important college is and decide to get a degree before she moves to LA."
"I'm sure we could find a way to get her to join. I also think that having you here might help her so she doesn't just sit in her room all the time. You're a really good sister Bree." I genuinely mean that, Aubrey is a great sister to Beca.
"Thanks Chlo. We should start cleaning up the booth and head back to the apartment now." I nod my head as we start to clean up the booth.
We carry everything to Aubrey's car, then head back to our apartment. We have a 2 bedroom apartment that's about a 5 minute walk from campus. We carry all of our stuff up the stairs and set it in the living room as we walk through the door. I continue my walk to the kitchen and grab 2 bottles of water and walk back into the living room where Aubrey is already sitting on the couch. I go to sit down next to her. She looks like something is bothering her.
"Here." I hand her one of the bottles of water, then open the other and take a long drink.
"Thanks" Aubrey says, then takes a drink from her bottle.
"What's up Bree, you seem like something is bothering you. Are you just worried about not finding enough bellas? Or is it something else?"
"I am worried about that, but I think we might be able to get just enough girls, there were some promising ones that stopped by the booth. I'm mostly just worried about Beca. She's always been closed off, even with me, but after being home with her this summer, it seems like she's gotten worse. It seems like there's something that she's hiding from me. I'm hoping that with her being here this year that maybe we can rebuild our relationship again."
"I'm sure she'll come around Bree. Just make sure she knows that she can trust and talk to you. I'm sure you guys will be able to get back to where your relationship was. Do you have any idea what you think she's hiding from you?"
"Well, you know how Beca's been friends with Jesse for years?" I nod my head. They've been friends longer than me and Aubrey. "Well, I've kind of always wondered why they've never dated. Then I started thinking whenever we've watched movies or tv shows I'm always free willing to say if I find one of the actors attractive. I can't remember a time where Beca's ever expressed an interest in any of them. She doesn't seem to have an opinion at all."
"Well you know she's weird about emotions and stuff like that, so maybe talking about how hot a guy is falls under that. Maybe she just finds it uncomfortable or embarrassing."
"That's what I've always thought, but then I remembered how when we were younger, she always had an obsession with the female characters. Now I'm kind of thinking, what if she's gay? It would make sense why her and Jesse are just friends and why she's never talked about any crushes she's had or any celebrity crushes she's had. Is that crazy? Should I ask her?"
"I don't know Bree. Do you want me to be honest with you?" She nods. "Well, you know how good my gaydar is?" she nods again "Well, I'd be lying if I said it didn't go off every time I see her." Aubrey visibly tenses when I say that. "The only way to be sure though is for her to tell you."
Aubrey sighs "Maybe I can get her to talk with me about it tomorrow at lunch."
