Chapter 3

Beca's POV

I've been sitting at my desk working for a couple hours when I hear my phone chime. I pull it out to see Jesse sent me a text.

Jesse: Hey Becs! Wanna check out the cafeteria and get dinner in 20 mins?

Did I call it, or did I call it. I give myself an internal high five for being right then message him back before he sends another text, or worse, comes to my room. Since we live in the same dorm building I wouldn't put unannounced visits past him.

Beca: Sure. Come to my dorm and we can walk from here. I'm not walking up any additional stairs to come see you.

The response is almost instant.

Jesse: Yay! Can't wait to see you! Be down soon!

I save what I have so I dont lose all my hard work, then get up to make myself look somewhat presentable. I go to my closet and pull out a red and black flannel to put on over the black tank top I'm currently wearing. Then I exchange my sweatpants for a pair of ripped black jeans and finish the look off with my signature black combat boots. If you haven't guessed black is my favorite color. I go to my mirror to make sure my eyeliner and hair look good, then wait for Jesse to get here.

About 5 minutes later I hear a knock on the door and pull it open to reveal Jesse and his goofy smile.

"Becaw" he greets me with that stupid nickname that he made up in eighth grade that somehow he still thinks is funny "Ready to get some food?"

"Yeah dork, I'm starving" I say as I walk out into the hallway and lock my door "Let's go"

We walk to the cafeteria and grab some food. I grab a couple of slices of pizza and Jesse decides to go for the burger line. After getting our food we make our way over to a table to eat.

"So how was move in day," Jesse says though a huge mouthful of food "I saw you took a cab."

"Well I didn't want my dad or the step-monster to have to worry about taking me." When I was 12 and Aubrey was 15 our mom died. Then about a year later my dad met Sheila, the step-monster, and they got married. "Yet somehow my dad didn't get the hint and showed up at my dorm, where I left him and went to the activities fair. I signed up for a job at the campus radio station. Also, I ran into Aubrey and Chloe. She wanted me to sign up for the Bella's and I'm having lunch with her tomorrow."

"You should definitely sign up for the Bella's!"

"Eww dude, no! Why?"

Jesse chuckles at my outburst "Because one, you are a great singer, and two because I'm going to audition for the Trebels!"

"Dude, are you serious?" There is no way he is serious about joining the all male a capella group.

"Yeah, why not. I've always loved singing and here there is nobody to make fun of me for doing what I love." Jesse was in choir for one year in high school, but a lot of the guys made fun of him for it so he quit.

"I mean whatever you want dude, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna join the Bella's"

The rest of dinner we just talked about random things and had a good time. After about an hour we headed back to the dorm. On the walk back Jesse tries (as he always does, remember he's persistent) to get me to watch a movie with him. I manage to get out of it and say goodbye to him as I get off on the second floor and he continues his climb to the third floor. I get back to my room, change into my sweatpants and go back to my desk to work on my mix.

I finally finish the mix and look at the clock It's already 12:30. I figure I should probably go shower before I crawl into bed. I change into my robe then grab my towel and shower caddy adn make the short walk to the bathroom down the hall.

As I'm walking into the shower area I'm humming Titanium. I realize that I am by myself in the showers, so I let myself quietly start to sing as I hang up my towel and robe and turn the water on. I am about to step under the water when I hear a familiar musical voice and the shower curtain being ripped open.

"Bree was right, you have an amazing voice!" Oh my God! It's Chloe! I slowly turn my head to look at her. There she is standing there completely naked. I can hardly handle being around her fully clothed. This is not going to go well. That's when I realize that I'm also naked, so I frantically try to grab my stuff and turn my body to try and cover up the best I can.

"Dude! Get out!" I manage to shout at her "I'm naked!"

"I'm not gonna leave until you sing with me." Chloe looks serious. How's she so comfortable right now? I'm trying so hard to maintain eye contact and not look down. It is too hard of a task for me and I feel my eyes start to wander down her body. Fuck, she's hot. I mean I knew that before, but now that I've seen her naked, it brings it to another level.

Suddenly I hear Chloe clear her throat. Oh no she must've caught me looking. She probably thinks I'm really weird. Oh no what if she tells Aubrey. Fuck.

"So are you going to sing or will you be checking me out all night?" Chloe says with a smirk on her face. Fuck she noticed. I can feel my face going bright red.

"Uhh…. umm… I wasn't… I didn't... I'm not… staring" I manage to fumble out even though she already caught me. Smooth Mitchell.

"Its okay Becs, I'm really confident about all this" she gestures to her body and again I feel my eyes betray me and wander. Fuck, I need to stop doing that. Man she should be confident about a body like that though.

Somehow I manage to pull myself together. I need her to leave my shower and she is clearly ready to sleep here if I don't sing so I decide to start singing Titanium again. Chloe joins me and we harmonize perfectly. Our voices blend together like they were made for each other. I'm in such a daze and I can't think properly. I don't know if it's because I saw Chloe naked or if it's because of how our voices sounded together, maybe a combination of both. All of a sudden a guy comes from one of the neighboring showers and startles me out of my daze.

"You have a really nice voice" The guy says. This is why Chloe was in the showers. She was with this guy. It all made since now. I've seen this guy before he lives a few doors down from me. I think his name is Tom.

Chloe hands me my towel and I take it to cover my body even though I still need to shower. She obviously forgot about him. She walks off with him towards the shower he came from and shouts back to me

"See you at auditions" Fuck. Now I have to go. I then turn the water back on so I can shower and go to bed. I need to get up before one so I can get lunch with Aubrey.
