just when we thought we'd get a glimpse of our favorite couple that got engaged a month ago, a new handsome face got thrust to us and we are not complaining at all.
because finally, the hunt for the hot uchiha cousin is over.
when sasuke went online last night after his month-long break, everyone got so excited since we were anticipating a stream with sakura to address the sweet proposal last time we saw them together. but sasuke was still the same dude we know, private and mysterious, and proceeded with his usual stream and didn't bother to be distracted by the tons of messages about sakura's whereabouts.
the little twinkle in his eyes and the tiny lift on the corners of his lips were the only signs that our boy was very happy, which was such a sight to see.
anyway, halfway through playing little nightmares, an unfamiliar voice comes through. for us, this was where the fun started.
"yo, sasuke-chan!"
sasuke's face crumpled in irritation as he paused his game. we saw him take off his headphones and glare at the person who interrupted him mid-game, "the fuck are you doing here?"
there was a hearty laugh before the guest answered, "c'mon, didn't you miss me?"
we saw a tall figure coming closer to where sasuke was sitting. a lean arm held the top of sasuke's gaming chair while another braced the desk before the voice finally revealed its face.
and what a glorious face it was.
"hello! i'm the infamous cousin you're all looking for," he said before giving sasuke's viewers a charming wink. hearts of different colors and choruses of "marry me" immediately flooded sasuke's chatbox and we couldn't blame them. he was a breath of fresh air and everyone finally knew why ino and sakura found him extremely hot.
shisui uchiha got the uchiha genes for sure— dark hair and eyes, refined cheekbones, breathtaking smile. however, his dark hair has tufts of curls all over that made his look softer than itachi's sharp features. his eyes were also filled with mischief and wonder, which was far from the piercing gaze that was sasuke's trademark.
"leave me alone," sasuke told his cousin and tried to push him out of frame. "i'm busy."
shisui didn't budge. (his arms flexed though. we all drooled over it)
"then who would entertain your viewers, huh?" he grinned. "i'll offer my services today then! you're welcome, baby cousin!" and so sasuke's stream turned into another one for the books.
shusui offered a lot of "manly shrieks" over jumpscares and funny commentary that sasuke visibly ignored as he focused on the game. it was so entertaining to see this wide-shouldered hottie that wouldn't stop distracting sasuke (and the rest of us) and the ever-composed player that we all know together on one screen. it was such a feast for the eyes.
shisui was comfortably sitting beside his cousin even though sasuke told him to go home multiple times. he was the one reading the comments and answering questions, even if it was not directed at him.
"'sasuke please let him play'," shisui reads aloud. "hear that, sasuke-chan? they want you to let me play. c'mooon!"
"no," sasuke replied while his eyes were still glued to his screen. "you're terrible at this. also, you hate horror games."
the older uchiha stuttered a bit, "th-that's not true..." sasuke only offered a smirk that shisui definitely saw. "don't smirk at me! i can kick your ass in halo!"
after meeting itachi, we thought all uchihas were these reserved and elegant aristocrats with the way they move or speak. shisui was of different uchiha species with his exuberant personality and we loved it... especially because he spilled a lot of teas about sasuke and sakura's relationship over the years.
"he really punched me when i drunkenly ratted them out. i missed my blind date because i had a black eye for a week!"
"i still hate you for that, by the way."
"if not for me, you may still be dating sakura-chan in secret until now," shisui bragged. sasuke silently agreed, if his resigned sigh wasn't indication enough.
"yeah, i was also the one who caught you the first time you snuck sakura in your bedroom and covered you from itachi..." he said distractedly while sasuke continued playing the survival horror game without answering him.
shisui was leaning away from his cousin as sasuke tried to clear a scary stage. when shisui noticed what he was doing, he cleared his throat and focused on reading the chat instead.
he reads, "'did his brother find out about that?' unfortunately, yes. 'tachi's really perceptive."
sasuke interrupted, "nah, you just can't lie for shit."
"shut up! focus on your game!"
when sasuke didn't answer, shisui reads another question from the viewers. "'what was the reaction of your family when they heard the engagement news?' hmmm..," he leaned back on his seat. "they knew it before sasuke popped the question, of course. back then we already had the feeling that this is where they will end up anyway. we're just excited that we'll finally have a new addition to the family. a pretty one at that! too bad sakura-chan saw this guy first." he pointed to sasuke with his thumb.
sasuke murmured menacingly as he played, "even if she saw you first, i'd still have her. idiot."
"you'll never know~" shisui taunted in a sing-song voice.
"she's immuned to your moves ever since. stop deluding yourself."
shisui pouted, "sad to say, yeah... sakura-chan's quite formidable in every way. she's charm-resistant to me, she's not afraid of fugaku-san, she's way better than sasuke in video games, and she's on par with itachi on detecting lies. i can't find my way out when she's interrogating me!"
sasuke slightly smirked again as he mumbled, "that's my girl."
"hey, remember when she lined us up when she found out we broke one of her pots and replaced it with another? i thought that was the end of my life!"
"that was your fault, asshole. i told you she would notice."
"well you didn't tell me she would be that scary," shisui retorted. "the only time i saw her mad was when naruto spilled to her that you-"
a hand immediately went to shisui's mouth before he could say anything.
"say it and i'll strangle you in front of everyone," sasuke said. shisui could only raise his hands in surrender. after a few moments, his mouth was free again.
"jeez, alright. i won't spill it," he said. "i'll do it in your wedding then." his lips widened to an evil grin.
as sasuke went back to his game, he scoffed. "as if i'll allow you to be there."
that made the older uchiha pause and the look on his face was definitely perplexed. "wait," he said to sasuke who was now ignoring him again with a mischievious look on his face. "you don't mean that..."
when sasuke didn't answer, he pushed further. "you're just joking, right? i'm invited to your wedding, i know it!" still, it was radio silence from sasuke as he continued to play.
"sasuke-chan!"
the stream continued with sasuke concentrating to finish the game and shisui answering questions and exclaiming his right to be part of sasuke's wedding entourage.
would we ever get the chance to know what shisui was about to spill? we'll never know. at least, we got to finally meet the reason why our favorite couple was able to date freely after hiding it for years.
#ThankYouShisui and #HotCousinConfirmed were trending last night. and to top it all off, shisui also hacked sasuke's barely-used instagram by posting a stolen photo of sasuke and sakura from behind, cuddling on the sofa. he captioned it with "i deserve to be ur best man with this ok" and added "ur fave cousin shisui" for credits.
then, sakura commented on it.

in the end, sasuke didn't delete the post but he definitely did something else... if sasuke's mentions on twitter weren't enough proof.
