Chapter 10
Chloe's POV
I can't wait to hang out with Beca today. I love how nervous she was when I asked her to hang out. It's clear that she likes me, which makes it even harder for me to not ask her out. I know that Aubrey gave me her blessing, but I want to get to know Beca as friends before I ask her out. There's always a different connection when you get to know each other as friends before dating.
I watch as all of the girls leave the auditorium. Beca and Stacie are the last 2 to leave. Stacie lingered around talking a bit to Aubrey, which I could see was making her blush. Aubrey never blushes. Last night must've gone well. I've been waiting so I can talk to her more about it. Once Stacie leaves, Aubrey comes over to help me clean up. We get most of it done in silence. We're almost done cleaning up the auditorium, so I figure now would be the best time to bring up Stacie. I don't want to upset Aubrey, so I need to try and go about it gently.
"So how's Stacie?" I hold my breath waiting for her response.
"She's good? We obviously really need to work on her touching herself when she sings still. Other than that I feel like she's getting the dance moves and stuff down well." Not what I was asking but at least she's not freaking out yet.
"I saw you two checking each other out all of practice. I also saw her hang around until everyone else left to talk to you. I'm taking it that last night went well then?" Well so much for being gentle. Aubrey looks really nervous now.
"Alright. Don't freak out on me, but last night was amazing! We got to talking at the party and it turns out she's actually really smart. Like taking senior level physics classes smart. She just puts up a dumb, slutty front. She told me that she was bi and that she thought I was hot." Aubrey starts blushing now. "Then one thing led to another I said that I had been wanting to do some experimenting and then we were making out in the woods where you found us."
"Ok. I just don't understand why you decided to experiment now. What triggered the desire in you to try experimenting? Have you always wanted to?" I'm surprised by how open she is being about this with me. That is one area where her and Beca are similar, they both have a hard time opening up to people.
"Ever since I was younger I always had an attraction to guys. When I was little I realized that I also felt that attraction to girls. I just always pushed it down because I wanted to be normal and it was easy since I still liked guys. I also figured out that Beca must be gay and I didn't want to dissappoint my dad. Until Stacie I was never in the position to get the chance to experiment with girls, so I didn't think anything of it. Then after Beca came out and I saw how happy she was and what Stacie said to me last night, I just figured what the hell. It's my last year here so why not live a little." She smiles and I know I've never seen her this happy before.
"That's great Bree! One last question, is this thing with Stacie serious or a one time thing?"
"At first I was expecting it to be a causal thing, but we're actually going out on a date tonight. I think that this might actually be going somewhere" Aubrey starts blushing again.
"Wow. That's amazing! I'm so happy for you. You know this means you're going to have to talk with Beca though." Her smile fades a little at that.
"I know. I'll talk to her about it soon. Speaking of my sister, she spent the night last night? What happened?"
"We ended up talking a lot. We were up until around 3 in the morning and it felt like no time had passed. I've honestly never felt more connected to someone." I feel kind of awkward telling Aubrey this since I am talking about her sister.
"Well are you going to use my blessing that I gave you to ask her out?"
"I think I will, but I want to give her the chance to open up to me and for us to get to know each other as friends first to take some of the pressure off."
"That's actually a really good idea Chlo! She has always had a hard time opening up to people and I'm sure doing that with you as friends would be better for her. I'm hoping that now that she is starting to come out to people she will be better about opening up."
"I hope so too! I think we're done cleaning things up here so you ready to head back to the apartment?" Aubrey nods her head and goes together her things as I go to pack up my bag.
We leave the auditorium and make it back to our apartment. Aubrey and I take turns using the bathroom. I let Aubrey go first since she has a date tonight. After I was done showering I helped Aubrey curl her hair and do her make up for her date with Stacie. Shortly after she was done getting ready she left to go pick Stacie up. After she left I went to the kitchen to work on some homework before I meet up with Beca.
At about 4:30 I text Beca to let her know that I will come meet her at her dorm room. I get up to finish getting dressed, then head out to walk over to Beca's dorm.
