Chapter Seventeen: Preparations for the New School Year

It had been a week since the attack on the Diabolus brothers. Since then their time has been spent mainly at home under the care of Emelia and their guild alongside their family due to them having been poisoned as well. Thankfully the antidote worked, and they were generally improving along with the fact that Natalie and Amira hadn't touched their drinks of blue star and water respectively due to being busy meeting with other guild members and playing in the children's area.

With that in mind it was nearing time for the new school year to start. With that being said that meant that it was time for school shopping. Teachers and students alike were busy getting ready for the new school year in the stores buying supplies and everything that they needed, and teachers were busy either doing the same or making sure that their classroom was prepared for the students planning their course schedules.

Has for the headmaster of Everston Community Academy, Scott Turtleson, was busy making sure that the teachers at his school were ready for the year and that every one of his is employees were ready for the school year to come. However, this year there was one classroom that he was paying very close attention to. Class ECA-A-7 that once upon a time he was in charge of along with its higher ups. Nowadays it would be the class that the younger siblings and adopted children of his former students would be the students of.

He knew this year would come eventually and had spent the years since he became headmaster of the academy preparing for it. Saving money where he could, constantly reviewing school safety protocols, constantly observing his staff and faculty, and firing anyone who harmed a signal hair on the students and making sure that all of them learned and followed protocols for medical emergencies and more.

He knew that this year was going to be a time that would be filled with troubled students. In fact outside of the little club members that were going to be here there were a high number of students that were troubled in some way too. Grimshade's Orphanage, Grimshade house for troubled and non-troubled youth had a number of talented individuals. They were admitting a number of students this year. Each of them had a troubled past of their own.

The fact of the matter was that he felt the need to keep a close eye on these students. So he decided to assign his most trusted teacher in the year group to keep an eye on these students and had him make sure that those students were only placed in the classrooms of the best and most trusted teachers in that year group. It was what he felt was best for the students since they had a variety of unique needs. With that in mind, it made sense to assign the teachers who were best able to handle them and were capable of understanding them too.

With that in mind, he had decided to assign the best teacher that he could think of to this class. Mr. Haruto Ishikawa, ever since his employment at the school, his record has been the cleanest that the headmaster had seen besides his own. And his student turn out from last year ended up with a 100% graduation rate with more than decent grades averaging at A+s to high Bs and most if not all of them having an idea of what they wanted to do in life or at the very least considering what they wanted to do or potentially having a job already lined up out of school.

With that in mind he had called the young teacher in for a meeting about these students, his head of security, and the head psychiatrist at the school as well. He wanted to make sure they understood that this school year was not like the ones before. He had called a meeting with the rest of the employees later on that day, but he needed to make sure these people knew the best out of all of them about the current circumstances the school had to deal with.

He currently sat in his office going through his employee's files. Since Everston stood on the border of three countries it was subject to all three countries' laws. One of those countries happened to be Atlantide. Under their laws Scott had to submit a check list on every employee's certifications were up to date and that the school met the standards of the department of education. If he didn't do this then they either would have to pay a fine or not operate at all.

Thankfully everyone had their certificates up to date and everything seemed to be going well. With that in mind he moved on to making sure that the school's certifications were up to date and making a list of people who needed to update their certifications by next year. There were a handful of staff members that needed to do so but not many of them.

He was drawn from his thoughts when his secretary opened the door to his office. "Sir, your 10:00 meeting is here." The secretary said with a smile. Tiny Turtle nodded and told her to let them in. The three people he had called for walked in and took their seats as Scott began the meeting.

Scott smiled seeing that they were all there as he asked. "Hello Haruto, Angelo and Kaleida. How are you this morning?" he asked with a gentle smile. They all replied that they were doing good, and Scott began the main part of the meeting.

"We're doing well, just finished setting up the classroom for the kids and it's ready to roll for the year." Haruto or Avian has he liked to be called smiled happily. Angelo and Kaleida voiced their agreements.

"Good just so you know this meeting will be recording for the purpose of court evidence should the need arise. Now to start Avian I'm sure that you're aware of some of the special students that have been put into your care this year. There are either adopted children or younger siblings of my final class. I'm sure you're aware of which students I'm referring to."

"Yeah I read their files. Duchess Leah Pierceton of Minecraftia and her guard in training Maxwell Dogsonburge, Princess Ellicean Pierceton of Minecraftia and her cousins Princesses Arianna and Ruby Oakwoods of Atlantide and their soon to be stepbrother Prince Lenard Aquarius of Atlantide. Princess Flora Lightwater of Vairakya, Princess Arial Ranpart and her twin Prince Alex Ranpart. There's also Lady Angela Kent from the noble house Kent and her niece Lady Marcy Kent, Casandra Catson and Mason Monkeyson. All of them hold relations to the class of Scott Turtleson, 1690 or more infamously the class of the Parva Alliance Civil Political War." Avian recalled with a frown.

"That's right now I'm sure that you're aware of the incidents that have been happening over in Atlantide Jonathan Lockheart has been potentially sighted many times these last few months and there is a chase that his allies might make an appearance has well. What I need the three of you to do is keep a close eye on them. There's possibility that Jonathan and his allies might make an attempt on the royal family thrones again." Scoot warned them with a firm tone.

"I understand where your concern is coming from Scott but are you sure that they will try to steal the thrones of the royal families from last time if any?" Kaleida asked him with a frown. Scott thought for a moment before giving an answer to the young woman's questions.

"Yes and no, what concerns me is the fact that they are acting up now. The younger children in the club were attending the Junior Academy at the time of the war. The junior school tends to be a bit more private with its students' lives than us. It's only a matter of time before Jonathan finds out that she's here with her friends. Not to mention his suspected involvement with the DarkStorm Guild that kidnapped Leah a few months back now. I know that it's been five years since the end of the war but that doesn't mean that Jonathan isn't planning something now. Plus the alliance is still healing from what happened." Scott explained with a frown.

It was true, many people had theories that the illegitimate rulers had retreated to gather their strength and come up with a new plan. Of course what those plans might have been varied from person to person. Some believed that they were going to take a more political root than last time while others believed that they were going to build an army or hire a bunch of dark guilds.

Now while the different theories had gone down in credibility over the years with the recent potential activity from DarkStorm revealing a potential connection to Jonathan the last theory had gained credibility. In fact the young headmaster had heard rumors from some of the students from Atlantide talking about some peacekeepers that were looking into that in there off time.

"That makes since. We should take action now in order to be prepared in case they do show up. I'm going to hire some more guards and update the equipment." Angelo nodded in understanding. The school's equipment needed to be updated anyways.

"I'm going to guess that there is more to this then just the next gen little club." Haruto commented with a frown. Scott nodded and began to explain with his own frown.

"In addition to the "next gen little club," You have a number of troubled students that you will need to pay close attention to." Scott said as he handed Haruto a list of his class roster for the year. It was mostly the same as the ones he'd get in the weeks leading up to the school year, the only difference being that most of the names were underlined. "This is a list of students I want you to keep your eyes on. The ones who are underlined once have trauma that is already being addressed, the ones who have two are in the process of getting it addressed and the ones with three are ones that have resent trauma that has yet to be addressed." Scott explained firmly. "I want weekly updates on these student and for you to maintain direct contact with their parents or legal guardians."

"I get you Scott, got to make sure that there being taken care of am I right?" Avian smiled confidently. This wasn't the first time that he had to deal with troubled students in his homeroom class. While he didn't have more than just one or two in a year this time he had majority. But that was fine, he wasn't given the position of head teacher in his year group for no reason after all. It helped that he was friends with Kaleida and Angelo and married to the school's head nurse.

A few minutes later the meeting was dismissed, and he was permitted to leave the room to return to his classroom and finish making sure that it was ready for the coming school year. Along with the list he had gotten at the beginning of the perp time for the school year, he got files on all the students that were attending his class this year.

Looking over the list he had gotten this time from the headmaster he saw that most of the children had at least one line under their name most had two though a select few had three. That was a concern to the young teacher, but he felt he could handle it.

However has he looked through the list a second time there was a name that caught his attention. It was a young girl named Ana Okita and she had two lines under her name. But that wasn't what caught his attention, it was the last name. He had a friend at this school that had the same last name as him. The man in question was named Tazu Okita. He was a teacher in the same band as him. Curiosity filling his mind he opened the file of the young girl in his class with the same name as his friend.
