PADAWAN

Din Djarin: bounty hunter, father, Mand'alor and...Force wielder? He needs help and who better to help him but Ahsoka Tano.

A/N: I love the story of Din Djarin and Grogu. I don't need anything else. Also I am writing this because of the force/my inspiration Pedro Pascal and not for monetary gain. I have spoken.

Note: The chapters might sometimes be long or short depending on the story plot.

Please don't be shy to review and tell me what you think. Thank you!

CHAPTER 13

HOW TO TRAIN A MAND'ALOR

Part 7

Force Ghost

Chapter 11: Jedi Squared:

By the time Din Djarin fell to terra firma he was almost unconscious. The Mandalorian floated down a little unsteadily. Then at about barely three meters high the man fell with a crash like a puppet cut off of its strings.

"Master!" Yuno and three other teens rushed to Din upon seeing him fall. They dragged the heavy man until they were out of direct line of fire behind the shelter of some rocks.

"Din!" Ahsoka landed next to them. She moved the fabric away from his neck and checked for a pulse. "Can you hear me?" The Jedi felt relieved when the helmet nodded weakly. "Take care of him!" Ahsoka told Yuno and she took off to finish the last mercenaries.

After the fight with Sumal:

"Master! Master!"

Ahsoka had barely ripped the saber out of the last mercenary's chest when Yuno screamed again. Ahsoka feared the worst as she rushed out of the Mantis. "Mistress! He stopped moving!"

With her own heart beating fast she checked for that pulse again. She looked up at the worried eyes of Yuno. The Jedi grabbed Yuno's shoulder to boost the teen's courage. "Get a carrier! Quickly!"

"Let's go!" Yuno called his team mates and the boys ran back in the fort like the hounds of hell were at their heels.

Ahsoka checked Din's vambrace; the jetpack had used up every drop of its fuel! Did Din come down on sheer use of the Force Push alone? Ahsoka looked up and estimated the height. How did he learn to do that?

Her adrenaline was still quite high after the fight that her nerves were stretched taut. She thought the hurried heavy steps were Sumal's men…she flared the sabers…

"Mistress Ahsoka! We're here to protect you!"

With a gasp of relief the Jedi was glad that the armed town guards came out although many of them were just regular townspeople but they all came out carrying anything that they could find for a weapon.

Ahsoka thanked the few who stayed with her while she kept her fingers pressed on Din's jugular pulse. Din's aura was low like the fire of a sputtering candle but it is fighting to stay lit. Ahsoka could only look at the Mandalorian in worry. No force wielder nor Jedi has ever pushed their aura to this extent and not die. No one has done it before! It's simply not done!

"Mistress!" After it felt like forever Yuno and the teens came back, breathless, pushing an old but serviceable pallet. "We have the carrier!"

"You," Yuno pointed to two boys, "Grab his legs! Help me with his arms!" He nodded to another teen. Then they proceeded to struggle with Din to place him in it. The Mandalorian is a big man and his armor added to his weight. "One…two…three! Lift!" They grunted with effort of raising Din's dead weight and almost dropped him.

"Guys, stop! You might hurt him more! Step back." With her Force ability she lifted Din safely on the pallet to the shocked gasps of the teens and the Calodan guards. "Yes, people like me have these kinds of powers. Him, too." Ahsoka quickly explained to remove their fear. "Now, let's take him to his cottage."

"Mistress Ahsoka!" A harried Gov. Wing met them at the main gate. "Is he hurt from the fall?" the elder looked at the unconscious warrior with worry.

"Not exactly. I hope not. He used up his energy." Ahsoka checked Din's pulse again. "Do you have a medical droid?" Ahsoka motioned for Yuno to go ahead.

"We have a human doctor…" the governor's aide nodded in confirmation.

"No." Ahsoka sent a little bit of her aura to the Mandalorian to help sustain his energy. "We cannot have a human doctor."

They all finally arrived at the cottage which was bursting with activity; kids were running here and there. And, leading it like a seasoned captain in battle is Yuno; the teen commands the other boys to light the lamps, fetch a bowl of hot water, get a med kit, extra pillows…and quickly!

"Why?" asked the confused aide.

"His creed does not allow people to see his face." Governor Wing explained to the others.

Ahsoka waited until the bed covers have been turned over before gently lifting Din with her ability, once more, to the gasps of shock behind her.

As Din floats, Yuno took that chance to carefully grab the jetpack from under the Mandalorian. He efficiently unclipped the device and set it down on a table. Ahsoka approved at what the boy had done and let Din float a little longer so the boy could unstrap the jetpack clamp as well.

That done, when Din had been lowered in the bed Yuno got busy by meticulously removing the Mandalorian's armor and equipment.

As all this is going on Gov. Wing keenly observe Yuno. It was amusing how the territorial young man wouldn't allow anyone to touch his charge. The elder could only feel pride for the previously shy and nervous young man who seemed to have gained so much confidence in such a short time. The elder would make sure there is a bright future for this young man.

Gov. Wing summoned the three idle boys to him. "You three, go to the infirmary and find if Elsbeth had a droid doctor there. Bring it back here! Go!" The governor then turned to the Jedi and the boy, "What else do you want me to do?"

"For now we just need that droid doctor or nurse, the rest I leave everything to you, governor."

The governor nodded and grabbed Ahsoka's hands tearfully, "I will make sure to find one and if we don't have our own I will borrow one from another city, Mistress Ahsoka!"

It has been thirty or so minutes had passed since the search for the medical droid or meddroid. Yuno had finished tidying up and cleaning the cottage and after fifteen minutes of nervous pacing and peering out in the dark of the night, Yuno rushed out saying he will find out what the holdup has been.

Ahsoka did not want to leave Din's side not even for a minute; she has to constantly check the pulse on the neck or wrist. The burst of aural energy she gave him a while ago seemed to have kept his condition stable if not better.

But it's not enough.

The problem is the basic law of supply and demand; once his system had used up the 'infusion' the body would require more until it had replaced what was lost.

Ahsoka bit her lip hoping the…no! Not now!

Din's pulse began to slow down more and his skin became cold to the touch. Risking being censured by the man Ahsoka dared to open the Mandalorian's tunic. She found that under it he wears a padded vest, under it is another layer of shirt-like tunic and an undershirt as well. When she got through under all that clothing she spread her hand to encompass Din's chest right over where his heart is…

Ahsoka whirled around at the metallic crash by the door. Yuno and the boys were trying to stand an obviously damaged medical droid. "We have a problem, mistress…"

"Stay there!" She motioned to the teens. Ahsoka went back to what she was about to do, "Close the door. Quickly!" The boys looked stunned at the way she talked to them. They were even more stunned when Ahsoka used the Force to slam the door at their faces. She faced her patient, "Hang in there, Din." She went to Din's side of the bed and took a few deep breaths; it would help to center herself and focus on both their aura.

She placed her hand on his chest again. It feels much colder now. I must hurry!

She closed her eyes and entered that psychic tunnel…In her mind she could see a pale cloud-like form with a blue center…that is Din's aura. She needs to reach out to that small center. The Jedi frowned because the blue should fill that 'cloud.' If it gets smaller…Ahsoka willed her psyche to go flow faster.

What is this? Against her will her progress slowed down. She felt as if she had reached a barrier and she couldn't proceed no more. No! Controlling her panic she tried to push against it but nothing happened.

What is going on?! Din!

Something is happening to Din's energy! The blue center that was slowly and dangerously shrinking and fading is starting to glow stronger…

Ahsoka gasped as she felt another aura joined hers and Din's; it floated over the Mandalorian's! It hovered and slowly floated down. As soon as Din's life aura absorbed it the blue spot began to darken. She could really feel it becoming stronger. It began to fill the whole aural cloud!

'Din Djarin, I chose you. Don't let me down.' The voice repeated in the echo. Ahsoka looked around but she couldn't see….

Ahsoka's 'eyes' widened as a pair of 'ghostly' eyes materialized and looked straight at her, 'He would need you...you would need him…'
