Chapter 6: Ling of the Present

Both Ling and Trunks are sitting far from the other so they have as little contact with them as possible. They can't risk saying the wrong thing to them and making unnecessary changes in the past and risk being erased from existence, "This is weird," Ling said to Trunks.

"Yeah," Trunks nods, "We're in the past. I never thought in my wildest dreams that we'll be standing here. To a point in time where the earth is not ravaged from those damn Androids,"

"And the people are living normal and peaceful lives," Ling added. She then lets out a loud yawn.

"Didn't get enough sleep last night?" Trunks asked.

Ling nods, "Yeah, as usual,"

"You should get a good night's sleep, you have bangs under your eyes," Trunks said.

A small smile forms on Ling's lips, "Right by at ya bro," she then puts a finger under her eye, "You have bangs too,"

Trunks chuckles, "So you notice huh?" he asked and rubbed his eyes. "Kinda hard to sleep knowing the androids are around," Trunks looks at Ling, "It's the same for you, right?"

"Yup," Ling nods, then rubs the scars on her face. They have gotten bigger, the one over the right eye now goes past her eyebrow and eye, the one on her left side now almost reaches her left eye, "Did she need to make them bigger?" Ling asked angrily.

"You'll pay her back tenfold," Trunks said.

"Damn right I will," Ling said with a firm nod, "For not only for my scars but for all the innocent people she and her brother killed,"

"And I will be there to help you out!" Trunks said with determination.

Ling nods and does a fistbump with Trunks, "Okay, how much longer until Goku gets here! My butt is getting sore from sitting on this rock!"

Chucking, Trunks checks his watch, "Just one more hour,"

Ling lets out a long sigh and looks up at the sky, "Not going to lie, I'm kind of nervous meeting him,"

"I feel the same," Trunks said, "We're going to meet earth's greatest hero,"

"It sucks we can't stick around and train with him," Ling sighs. She leans forward, crosses her legs and wraps her arms around her knee.

"Yeah," Trunks sighs as well, "But we will be back once both of us are born in this timeline,"

As Ling waits with Trunks for Goku to arrive. Miles away, two people are watching the time travellers with a pair of advanced binoculars. Mainly, Ling, "T-That's her! That's her! My baby girl in her late teens!" Ling's father said to a fellow scientist. Who's a woman.

"See? I told you it will work," the female scientist said.

"Yes, a Saiyan's body is perfect for my little girl," Ling's father said, "Why does she look so tired and pale? How did she change her hair and eye colour?"

That's because she has albinism, don't worry, she's still healthy. As for why she looks so pale, the Ling you see is from a future where two evil androids are ravaging the earth," the female scientist explains.

"Made from the Red Ribbon Army no less," Ling's father looks at the sleeve of his lab coat, the part where the Red Ribbon Army logo was ripped off. He felt sick having worked for that group. But he had little choice. Working for them did have some benefits, like turning himself into an android so he can live long enough to see his goal to the end.

"Come on, let's head back to the lab, you want your daughter to have a new body as soon as possible, right?" the female scientist asked.

"Yes," Ling's father said with hesitation, he wants to stay and talk with Ling from the future but time is of the essence.

Both scientists went to their vehicle that was parked nearby and sped to their secret lab. Ling's father quickly checks the state of his daughter. Ling of the present time (who is frozen) is still in very poor health. The ice and the machines are the only thing keeping her alive, "Soon Ling! You will have a body stronger than you have now and be the hero you always wanted to be!"

As Ling's father continues to monitor his daughter's health closely because for some reason her condition has gotten worse, the female scientist is making the fishing touches to present Ling's new Saiyan body. This one is different from her future counterpart. The body is still made with pure Saiyan DNA but one major difference. Only the DNA of evil Saiyans is used to make present Ling's new body, Turles, Nappa, Majin Vegeta, an ancient Saiyan named Cumber but just a fragment, Goku Black and Broly. She didn't use Raditz's DNA because that one is weak.

The Broly DNA used is different from the one used for future Ling. In the female scientist's opinion, this Broly DNA is stronger than one used in the future. She's seen with her own eyes the power that Broly has. Though the good nature that Broly has might tamper with the experiment she has in mind. She has to risk it though because the pure raw power she saw is too good to pass up.

"This Ling is going to be powerful, no doubt about that," the female scientist said under her breath. She can sense the latent power the Ling in front of her has, "Looks like you made the ultimate lifeform after all," she said loud enough so Ling's father can hear.

He didn't respond and asked, "Is the body done yet?"

"Yes, but this one albinism too," she said.

"Let's begin the transfer then," Ling's father said.

The female scientist nods. She went to a different machine and activated it. It hums to life and Ling's father watches in wonderment as an orb of light leaves the frozen tube and enters the other tube that holds the Saiyan body female scientist made.

"D-Did the transfer work?" Ling's father asked.

"I did," the female scientist said. Not bothering to check the equipment. Just walks up to the girl in the tube, "The ultimate lifeform is complete," she said and puts a hand on the glass.

"Don't call her that!" Ling's father shouts, "She's my daughter!" before he can say anything more, the female scientist charges a red energy blast, "21! What are you doing?!"

Android 21 makes an evil smile, "Goodbye, Dr. Wheelo," the bio android said and fries, vaporizing Ling's father and destroying the lab they're in. 21 was quick enough to get her and her ultimate lifeform out of the explosion.

High in the sky, 21 holds the seven-year-old in her arms, "So cute!" 21 smiles.

The little girl in her arms wakes up, "Where am?" the little girl said.

"In the sky," 21 said, "Do you remember who you are?"

The little girl nods, "Yeah, my name is Ling. How are you?"

"My name is 21," the female android said. She is very glad this Ling still has her memory, unlike the Ling from the future.

"Your name is a number? That's weird," little Ling said.

"I know, I'd rather go by 21 than the name I had before. It was pretty lame," 21 said.

Young Ling looks around, "Where's my dad?" she asked.

21 took a gamble, "He's dead, I killed him,"

"Oh," young Ling said simply. She then gets a puzzled look on her face, the news of her father's death should horrify her and being face to face with his killer should anger her. But she didn't feel anything. Not even the sickness she felt before, "I'm not sick!" she said, surprised.

"That's because I made you a new body. The sickness you had has no cure so I made you a new body. All your dad did is keep you alive for fifty years," 21 explains.

"I see," young Ling said.

"Want me to show you what your new body can do?" 21 asked.

"Sure! I feel..strong!" young Ling said as she looked over her new body.

"Okay, off to space we go!" 21 smiles and presses two fingers on her forehead.

"Wait, what?!" young Ling manages to say before 21 teleports the both of them to a distant planet.

Again, the excitement and wondrous joy young Ling would feel being on a different planet doesn't form in her heart. The only excitement she's feeling is what she can do with her new body.

The first thing 21 taught young Ling is how to use Ki. She powers up for the first time and a black aura ignites around the little girl like a raging flame. She ever felt so strong before! It feels like she can do anything and no one can stop her. With this strength, she can make those who looked down on her, pay in blood. But those people are long gone.

"Now we can move on to the fun stuff," 21 smiles. "But first I have to tell you that your new body is not human, it looks human but it's not. You have a Saiyan body. An alien race of powerful warriors. What they love most of all is a fight. I'll tell you more during your training,"

"So I'm not human anymore, I'm a Saiyan now. Is that right?" young Ling asked.

21 nods, "That's correct. You can say you have been reborn,"

"So I need a new name. I'm not that weak, that sick human who needs help to do anything! Eating, walking, reading, breathing!" young Ling said angrily.

21 puts her hands on young Ling's shoulders, "How does Yamato sound? That's a traditional Saiyan name,"

The little girl smiles, "That's perfect!" she looks at her hand, "I'm no longer Ling! I am Yamato! A Saiyan warrior! That's who I am!"

21 smiles, "You're also the ultimate lifeform. A title I'll help you live up to," 21 reaches into her lab coat and pulls out a capsule. She presses the button and throws it. Once the smoke it made disappears. Yamato sees a weird-looking spaceship. 21 walks up to it and puts her hand on it, "This is a time machine. I found it covered in moss and had a hole on the top. It took some time to restore it. Now we can use it to time travel," 21 makes an evil smile, "With this, you can get some payback,"

And so Yamato's training to be the strongest evil Saiyan beings.

A/N: I'll like to introduce the main villain of this story, Yamato. I thought it will be cool to reverse the evil future self trope. The next few chapters will focus on Yamato's evil Saiyan journey then back to Ling and her meeting with Goku.
